Going Upgrade Crazy?

So after you guys were so much help with my USB problems!! Again Thank you so much! I've decided to try and throw down a few more upgrades on this bad boy! I want to add more ram and partition the drives so I can have OSX and 9.2.2! How would I go about doing this...
After reading a previously posted topic (which answers all my question, but also raises one!). Im not using an apple monitor at all! I have a flat screen connected via my ATI card!?!?!?!
Can I still install OSX without an apple monitor. A previous topic said "remove all PCI cards"???????
What would be the best version to go for?????

You asked how you would go about adding more RAM and partitioning the HD.
You can upgrade the RAM with three 256MB DIMMs for a total of 768MB. The DIMMs should be PC100 (or PC133). Buy from a reputable dealer that guarantees their RAM will work with OSX. Some choices

The HD can be partitioned when you format the drive. I have an 80Gb drive in my G3, soon to be replaced with a 120Gb drive. Using Drive Setup in OS9 (since I'm using XPF to run Panther or Tiger), I partition my drives into 4 sections. Drive setup will allow you to designate how many partitions and what size each one is. I set the number of partitions and the size (keeping the first partition <8Gb for X) and then initialize the drive. After that, I usually install OS9 on the second partition, OSX on the first, application software on the third and the fourth is for data files.

Photoshop CS3 is not working with my Intuos suddenly!!! Pen goes in crazy lines instead of behaving?!

I am so frustrated tonight. My BRAND NEW Wacom Intuos tablet worked fine the last time I tried it, a couple months ago. I am running a Mac OSX with Parallels and Windows 7, which I run Photoshop CS3 on. It was doing fine but now suddenly I try it tonight and it goes crazy when I'm trying to paint with the brush--sensitivity is gone, it's just a thick line; more importantly, it won't behave!! The pen keeps spazzing and doing these retarded straight lines instead of going where I want it to go!!! It works perfectly fine outside of Photoshop, both on the Windows AND Mac side, so obviously this is a Photoshop problem. I've installed the latest Wacom Intuos driver for Win7 and it won't work. I've tried having Photoshop open first and then plugging in the tablet and I've tried plugging in the tablet first and then opening Photoshop. still no good.
Does anyone have any suggestions??

Also, resetting the photoshop cs3 preferences could help.
Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Shift+Cmd+Option) keys just after starting the launch of photoshop cs3.
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file
Press Yes because you do.

Going quietly crazy the hard disk disappears if I shutdown

I am having yet another try at getting SL to run this is the third complete wipe and reinstall. I have a bog standard iMac which runs fine on 10.5.8. The only software I have installed is iWork 09, iLife 09 and Libronix (Bible) for Mac.
Everything is fine as long as I don't shut down the system.It will reboot OK but if I shut down I get the grey screen with Flashing question mark folder.
I have spent two hours getting it to boot into the OS.
I tried safe boot, control + option + p + r, I have unplugged it making sure that only the apple keyboard and mouse are attached. Nothing worked.
I tried about a dozen time to get it to boot from the DVD which it did eventually but then couldn't detect the Hard Disk. Kept on trying eventually did detect the HD ran repair disk reported no problems, repaired permissions and selected the HD to restart which it did now typing this on the machine.
What on earth is going on this machine is less than a year old and I have never had so much as a freeze using Leopard.
Can anyone help I am tearing my hair out!!

It looks and sounds like you are Savvy.....
You have helped others or you wouldn't have 2 bars under your name...
I assume you have backups or you wouldn't have done 3 complete wipe and reinstalls.
This is the bottom line for me and what I would suggest as long as you have backups...
1. Wipe the HD clean... erase it.... fresh start....
2. Insert the Snow Leopard disk and install Snow Leopard only...... Nothing else. Do Not Migrate, etc..
Then give Snow Leopard a try all by itself with nothing of your old stuff or anything else added...
Try shutting down. Try restarting... Try Safari... etc.....
If that works, then something is wrong with something in your prior system or prior files...
Start migrating things over until you find a problem...
I know this may sound like it takes a long time but not really.
Sometimes we need to be like *PIT BULLS*..... don't give up.....
I don't really have any problems at all with Snow Leopard on the computers I have or the ones I have helped my friends upgrade other than a few minor things....

Freezes, Goes All Crazy or Displays Weird Colors

I have the latest 14 inch iBook (1.42 GHZ, 1G RAM) purchased at the end or Sept. 05 running Tiger 10.4.4 and these problems have been happening just about the entire time. I've never had it repaired and I just recently did an Archive Install to try and fix it but nothing.
Every day my monitor will get one if not all of these problems:
1. Big squares of a red to green gradient show up over icons, text, palettes etc. out of no where. When I switch out of the program with the squares and back in they're gone but it happens all the time.
2. My monitor will have a seizure; it's the equivalent of having the TV on the wrong channel, it going all black and white and making that loud noise. Mine's all different colors and doesn't make a noise but the rest is the same. I have to hit the power button and restart to get rid of it.
3. The last is the OS just freezes; it freezes about 4 times a day. I've done the hardware test and everything passed but nothing's changed.
I need my computer every day for work and can't spare the time to send it away to get fixed. I was hoping this was a common problem and there was a fix I could do myself before I have to ship it off.

Netbeans 4.1 on xp, going abs crazy

java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind:8084
i have no idea why, i googled all around, but no one seems to have a solution.
I installed netbeans on 2 XP machines, one with SP1a and one with SP2
when i start tomcat that comes bundled with netbeans 4.1 for the first time it works fine. But if I stop and start again when i re deploy my application
it gives me the message java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind:8084
i know it means that the port is already in use, but what in the world is going on with netbeans 4.1 that would produce the same message on 2 fresh installed netbeans 4.1?!??I am just starting/stop/starting the server

In my case, I was able to resolve the issue. I had a servlet application. First time it works fine and the app gets loaded in the browser. Second time, if you don't close the browser and run the file, you will run into the jvm_bind error. If you close the browser and run the file, this problem doesn't happen. Quite interesting!

Mac going completly crazy

Sometimes when just surfing Safari or playing world of warcraft, the mac starts repeating the last millisecond of sound and it locks up. This happens at least once a day. I've reinstalled Leopard 3 times already, and I still have the problems.
When I turn the computer off by holding down the restart button and boot it again, I get no error report message. I've only gotten an error report message twice, and when I checked the report it says "panic".
My warranty is running out, do you have any suggestions or should I just ship it to service right away?

I'm going absolutely crazy

I've finished a project in FCE. The whole thing was shot at 1920x1080.
No matter what I do, I cannot get FCE to output this as a 16x9 HD file. It keeps adding letterbox borders onto a file that is already letterboxed. In other words, it's as if it's been letterboxed twice. Everything is squished. The resolution of the output DOES say it's 1920x1080, but it's squished.
The infuriating thing is that I was able to accomplish this once. I have a file on my desktop that was output from FCE. It is 16x9, the aspect ratio is correct. It looks beautiful. But I can't do it again, no matter what I try.
In the "Export using QuickTime conversion" screen, I've tried every combination of options I can think of. Nothing works.
Someone please help me.

It didn't work after all. Now the video looks to be proportioned correctly, except that it's surrounded by thick black bars on all sides. The video is isolated in the middle with a lot of black all around it.
I don't know how to make a new sequence in AVCHD AIC 1920x1080. I'm assuming that's something I choose on the Easy Setup menu. But I don't have that choice in any of the popups. Where do I set this?
Also may be important to note that while I shot this in HD, I converted the files to .mov files with ClipWrap.
I see where to "Remove Attributes." What does this do? There are a list of choices. All the audio choices are greyed out, and most of the video attributes are too. I can only select Basic Motion, Distort, Filters, and Speed. They're currently all UNselected.

1. I released this project.
2. I got released files.
3. I copied these files to FMS's webroot and main.asc file also.
4. I connected this server by remoted PC. I could connect. And I clicked the button.

This path is /fms/webroot/<app-name>/
NOT /fms/application/<app-name>/

Screen suddenly goes color crazy and machine freezes!

Hi
Had a strange issue recently, the 2nd of such events which basically rendered my computer unusable. Started on Monday after a system update, screen started flashing colors and gradients of gray and then just froze. I reinstalled system software and everything seemed to be ok until about 1/2 hour ago, when it happened again. This time I took pictures and did a screen grab of the apple error report. I'm hoping that I have a software issue rather than a motherboard or other hardware related problem.

Hairless now and going completely crazy

I have posted this before but will try again. Trying to copy my audio (book) cd into itunes. I have: brought up itunes, put in cd, dismissed all dialog boxes (was told to do that by Aldoblog),selected all tracks (which were in contiguous and ascending order), chose advanced and.....join tracks is dimmed. WHY?????????????? It's not pretty here anymore....

What dialogue boxes are you dismissing? What do they say? Are they error messages?
Can you import the tracks by themselves, or is it not letting you do that either?

Going stir crazy......

A couple of months ago I created a newsletter page using dreamweaver, with the BC add in.
It looked good and seemed to work without a problem.
Now I want to make changes to this page using DW, but am unable to as the page now has :-

at the beginning of it.
I have searched and searched and searched to see if I can find what the problem is, but am really running into a brick wall with it.
So it is now time to seek expert opinions as to what the hell is happening.
Any clues, ideas, suggestion are greatly appreaciated.

Your HTML template is tied locally to a Dreamweaver Template. You have two options. 1) In the File pane of DW, goto the Templates folder and open up "E-Web.dwt" and make your changes there. Once you save it, it should prompt you to update the other pages and this will update your HTML newsletter template. 2) Goto Modify > Templates > Detach from Template. This will detach the newsletter from a template and you'll be able to edit it again but you remove the template dependancy.

The track pad on my MacBook Pro is going crazy what can I do?

Yesterday I tried using my Mac book pro when I noticed that my track pad wasn't working it would either move really slow or not at all and then when it does move it goes all crazy and starts moving or clicking things with out me doing anything what can I do two days ago it was working fine and I have tried cleaning the track pad

The same happend to me, you need to call applecare or take it to the genius bar to have the trackpad swapped out. I hope you have applecare becuase the unibody macbooks will need the whole bottom chassis replacing which can be pricey.
Just a quick fix (it will only work for around 30 mins each time) untill you can take it in. Press all four corners of the trackpad down hard (without breaking it) then let go. Your trackpad should work for a short while.

Remote control users = screen goes crazy

Whenever I try to remote control some users not all. It causes my remote
control screen to do funny things like it will turn all white and I can't
see anything. But when I remote control them by their workstation
everything works just fine. What could cause such a thing? I don't
understand why it goes all crazy when I select a user but everythings fine
when I select the users workstation.

these past couple of days my itunes library is going crazy..all the music in my library are bought from there store..when i play Adele 'rolling in the deep' song Ke$ha's 'blow' song plays instead..when i play Leona Lewis 'Bleeding love' Mariah Carey's 'we belong together' plays instead & so on..when i delete them and re-download them its still the same..most of my songs are like this..the Jeniifer's body movie i bought from the itunes store has justin bieber's 'believe' artwork on it.does anyone know whats going on?when i call apple they don't know anything..there no help..this is going completely crazy to the point were im not gonna use itunes anymore..does anyone know how to fix this?

It's in recovery mode. Plug it into your computer and restore it using iTunes.
