Golive 8 with CS3

after a clean install of my hard drive and the installation of CS3 Design Premium on it;
i tried to add GoLive from my CS2 CD's (sorry ... can't live without it!!!!)
tought thats going to be easy ........
from the install CD CS2 it was not possible to select and only install GoLive ....
i think it was on CD 6 where i found de GoLive package .... installed and ready to launch!
well ... as you guessed it was not launching (essential files are missing from CS2?)!
also the serial number is not accepted!
HELP ... i need my GoLive!!!
is there a solution to install GoLive 8.0 with the CS3 Design Premium Package?????
BIG thanks in advance for any helpful input!!!!

nope ... it want!
when i launch the Installer and get to the "Installation Options"; all components are grayed out except "Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe ImageReady CS" and "Adobe Version Cue CS2"
I can't even select under "Install: "Entire Suite" ... grayed out too!
hhmmm ... and uninstall CS3 to install CS2 to reinstall CS3 .... this might be last solution to try (hope you understand)!
to be more precise what is happening when i try to launch GoLive:
everything looks ok ... the app seems to load, also the tool palettes are there and i can go even through the menu (all grayed out though) except this nasty popup window which say:
"An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application. (-8)"
what library? what do i need to install where? any idea? i would be so thankful!!!!

  • Installing GoLive CS2 with Master Collection CS3

    I have just taken possession of a beautiful new system with the full Adobe Master Collection already installed by my computer guru man. The new system is very fast etc but I kept with XP 'cos had heard too many horror stories about Vista.
    After getting the computer home (I live 2 hours drive away from the guru) I remembered that I forget to ask him to install my old CS2 GoLive with menumachine. I need to have GoLive (and the wonderful Menumachine) to update my GoLive sites. For a while anyway.
    He thinks I should be very careful about just installing GoLive with the new CS3 collection because it could cause problems like "some of the shared components may overwrite the new CS3 versions" (whatever that means) He said I should have installed the old version of GoLive before installing CS3 to make this less likely. He said I might be best to uninstall the Master Collection. Start again and install GoLive CS2 first and then the CS3 next. He suggested I ask you.
    Has anyone been down this path?
    Also I still have GoLive CS2 installed and active on my old PC, will I be allowed to legally install it on the new one too? Or will that count as piracy and cause problems? I also have it on another little computer I have that I use (very rarely) as a kind of laptop.
    My new computer has a two hard disks a C-drive and a D-drive - I was wondering if it would help if I installed GoLive CS2 on the D disk - everything is currently on the C disk.

    If it were up to me, I would only have GL on two systems per the license
    agreement.
    Then, I would try installing GL CS2 and if everything works, great. If not,
    then uninstall the Adobe stuff and reinstall it as your guru suggested.

  • Epson Printing Problem with CS3

    My Epson Stylus Pro 9600 has a problem with CS3 printing. When printing large images (i.e. 36x60) a portion of the image would be missing at the bottom (blank) The 10.01 update addressed this issue but it seems not completely. The problem was attributed to using a "Custom" print resolution however I still have this problem and after much testing I have narrowed it down to the "Finest Detail" check box under the custom, advanced tab. Checking this "Finest Detail" check box reproduces the problem.
    I'm not sure where the problem lies whether it be Photoshops new stripped down print code or Epsons drivers. For the mean time I will keep this feature de-selected. Hope this helps other frustrated Epson Owners.
    Vista 32, dual quad xeon 2.33
    Photoshop CS 3.3 Extended (Masters Collection)
    Epson Stylus Pro 9600, Drivers ver 5.52, current printer bios

    Adobe blamed Epson drivers for not anticipating CS3's changes. Like they're clairvoyant or something. Their reason was that it was too hard to take into account every printer on the market when writing the new (unasked for) CS3 printing module. A feeble excuse when it comes to Epson pro machinery, though - it is the industry standard, after all.
    Solution? - use CS2 for printing, authored back when Adobe wrote its software to be compatible with existing equipment and drivers, not expecting the world to fall into line with whatever it decided it would do. CS2 works flawlessly with my 7800, CS3 remains a basket case for the same reasons you mention, though checking/unchecking the fine detail box makes no difference. CS3 is erratic - sometimes it works as directed, but then out of nowhere it will suddenly decide to attenuate a pano print.
    We'll see if they get it right with CS4's "improved" printing, but don't hold your breath.

    this one is actually a really rare symptom of a flaky connection to the ipod on a Windows PC. there's more going on in terms of hardware on nanos and 5th gens than in the earlier models ... so if the connection is flaky to precisely the right/wrong degree, itunes will see the ipod, but misidentify it as an earlier version of ipod.
    tracking down the cause of the flakiness can be tricky ... as you already know ...
    just checking. have you tried connecting with a different (known-good) USB cable? does that seem to have any impact on the rate of occurence of the problem?

  • [js] CS Scripting not working with CS3

    Hello,
    We had a JavaScript made for us that enabled the user to exchange certain text within a document.
    This script works fine with CS (Ver.3.0.1) but gives a JavaScript Error - #55, Error String: Object does not support the property or method 'findPreferences' with CS3 (Ver.5.0)
    I have tried 'tinkering' around with the scripting - but I have zero experience with JavaScript and have not found a solution.
    Additionally the people that wrote the initial script are not available.
    I have bought several books but they all seem like alien-language to me
    Below is the section of origional CS scripting.
    Can anyone point out to me WHY this script does not work with CS3?
    And WHERE I should start looking - changing?
    Thanks in advance for your help and guidence.
    Lee
    // Exchange the text
    function actProjectData(oneDoc, oneResult){
    app.findPreferences = null; app.changePreferences = null;
    oneDoc.search(undefined, true, true, oneResult[0],{appliedCharacterStyle:oneDoc.characterStyles.item(myProjectTitleCharStyleNa me)}, undefined);
    oneDoc.search(undefined, true, true, oneResult[1],{appliedCharacterStyle:oneDoc.characterStyles.item(myOfferNoCharStyleName)}, undefined);
    oneDoc.search(undefined, true, true, oneResult[2],{appliedCharacterStyle:oneDoc.characterStyles.item(myOfferDateCharStyleName) }, undefined);
    app.findPreferences = null; app.changePreferences = null;

    > Come to think of it, maybe it's easier to create a folder "Version 4.0 Scripts" under your scripts folder and place your CS script in there. Maybe that will do the trick. Should have thought of that earlier.
    Tried this, but it didn't seem to do anything... But certainly a 'try' worth.
    Currently playing around with the:
    > app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "a";
    app.changeTextPreferences.changeTo = "b";
    oneDoc.changeText();
    I've got to the point where I have no error messages :-) Now I'm really flying.....
    Fact is - not all text and also the wrong text is replaced!!!
    I'm currently playing with the script to try and replace
    all texts with a given paragraph style with the entered text...
    Not proving to be simple for me, but I'm learning rather a lot!
    Now that doesn't sound very clear when I go back and read it!
    What I want to say is:
    Each page of the document has the project name, No & Date on it (each having their own paragraph style)
    so
    With this script it asks you the Project name, No. and Date and then goes
    through the whole document and replaces all instants of those texts with specific paragraph styles with the newly 'entered' text.
    Proving to be a little mountain for me - Thought it would only be a hill!

  • In hell on Windows 7 With CS3

    Okay I have windows 7 now, no matter how i fought the change it was inevidable .. I was suppose to be Windows Ultimate but I can't the ULTIMATE part to to work...
    Here's my problem as you cans see from the photos above that i had to uninstall CS3 , Unfortunately not all of CS# was uninstalled which has caused me problems with accesseing any other adobe product  because well, the messages above is my respond to every Adobe product there is, weather it came with CS3 or not.
    This is my Cry For Help
    Please Please get this off my Computer so I do not have to reformat the whole thing yet again. because of your Software.  I am very disappointed that Adobe didn't think it nessessary to make updates for Windows 7 and thought this would be okay with the people that has paid hundreds of dollars for a program they can never use again...  I had to swich Photo Editing software as you can see by the list photograph on the left hand side.. So if it would be convenient for the developers to send me some simple instructions on removing these issues from my computer or may perhaps make a update to work with this Operating System  (WINDOWS 7) i would greatly appreciate it....
    PS I do expect a answer since i paid over 1000 for this Suite of yours..
    Thank you for your time

    you can find my information on File please EMAIL Instructions ASAP.

    Run the cleaner tool and try again.

    Beyond that there is no point in making a fuss - paid upgrades are a valid "fix" to solving technical issues and if you haven't bothered it's only natural that an ageing version will eventually no longer be compatible with contemporary operating systems and computers.

  • Has anyone had a problem with CS3 crashing after downloading OS 10.8.1 on a imac?

    Has anyone had a problem with CS3 crashing after downloading OS 10.8.1 on a imac?

    Peggy
    You are probably correct. I tried all different variations to test it. As long as I quit each document separately, i.e., red dot it, I seem to bring up only one document after that whether I click on the document itself or open it within pages. The same is true with numbers.
    Two more questions:
    1) can you turn off the "resume" feature? If so, how? I could not find a way to do it.
    2) why the "save a version" feature in pages? What happened to the old "save" and "save as" features?
    Thanks so much, you saved me a lot of frustration but I am still going to install MS Office for Mac.

  • How to create an interactive magazine with CS3

    I am trying to create an interactive magazine with CS3 and don't know how to do it. First of all, is this possible with CS3 or do I need to upgrade to CS4? And if it is possible, can anyone tell me a step by step plan to follow? Or is there a book or download I can get for more information which is recommended?
    Thanks

    Google is your friend: Interactive Newsletters
    You can make digital newsletters for PDF in CS3 or 4. To make a digital newsletter that can be viewed in a browser (export to swf) you need CS4. Big advantage of swf is much smaller file size than PDF.
    One free bit of advice: design your file horizontally (11 w x 8.5h) since that works best for reading a PDF or swf online.

    I have a PC running Windows XP (yes an antique) with CS3 Photoshop and InDesign and lightroom 2 (yes all antiques). I have acquired a PC running Windows 7 with no programs. I also have a MacBook pro  with full CS5 suite. The programs were already loaded with I got it as a gift. Question 1. If I find serial numbers used to download programs to the old PC, can those CS3 programs be put on the newer PC. Question 2. I really want to put CS5 suite on PC machines. Is that possible? Especially since my MacBook is showing some hard drive problems.

    You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.  Downloading the programs does not require a serial number.  You can find them here:  Download CS3 products  but you will need the serial number to activate the programs.  You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.
    You will not be able to install the CS5 Mac version on a PC and you won't be able to trade it to a PC version either due to it being an older version.  Trades are allowed only for the latest version (CS6)

  • How to make an AIDrawArtAGMPort on Windows with CS3, CS4 and CS5

    Hi
    I want to use the function DrawArt of AIDrawArtSuite.
    To use this function, I must have an AIDrawArtGWorld or an AIDrawArtAGMPort or an AIDrawArtAGMPoirtV6 object.
    With CS6 SDK, this suite provides a mean to instantiate an AIAGMPort.
    With CS3, CS4 and CS5 this function doesn't exist.
    On MacOS X, I can build AIDrawArtGWorld.
    On Windows, I don't know how to do it.
    On Windows how can I make an AIDrawArtAGMPort  object ?

  • Banding problems with CS3 at 100% zoom

    Just upgraded from CS2 to CS3: I always shoot in RAW, then zoom in 100% in RAW converter to check quality. I also work in 16 bit and using CS2 the tonal gradation is brilliant. However the same photo opened with CS3 Bridge shows banding when I zoom in. Same happens when I convert and open the image in Photoshop. Great in CS2, banding appears in CS3.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks for the reply Christopher. I did check colour settings, but good idea. I'm happy to say I've resolved it myself, having wasted 2 days with the Adobe support line.
    Figured it had to be something to do with the screen so changed to a higher resolution and that seemed to cure it. Even so, I thought somethings not right. Read the 'Readme' notes more carefully and spotted the paragraph about updating my graphics card driver. I did this and now seems to be working fine.

  • Problems with CS3 and Epson 4800

    I am running Leopard on a Pro tower with CS3. I have a Dell laser printer along with a 4800. A few weeks ago, I set the Dell to be the default printer. All my prints on the Epson started coming out extremely flat, not matching my calibrated monitor at all. I finally set the 4800 to be the default printer and the prints looked normal again. No idea why that would happen. It baffles me. Driver conflict?
    However, I am still having two problems. First, when I soft proof, the soft proof screen looks nothing like the print. I am selecting the correct print profile in the Custom screen. The soft proof looks dark and weird.
    Second, the gamut warning is greyed out and unavailable to me, regardless of anything I try.
    Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or suggestions for fixes?
    Thanks

  • Problems with CS3 and Leopard

    Having a bit of a nightmare with Indesign and Photoshop CS3 since upgrading to Leopard. Running a Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5 With 2GB DDR SDRAM. Anyone else having problems?

    Below is the Adobe Marketing Line (copied verbatim). It's what I was told by Adobe Sales and what I read at Adobe.com, FAQ, before buying CS3 in October 07. Imagine my surprise when I discovered all of the issues with CS3 and Leopard, even after the update to Acrobat 8.1.2 Professional which promised full compatibility (see chart at bottom).
    Apple and Adobe... ARGH.
    Oh yes, for all of the new suckers out there who are about to buy CS3 for their new Macs, the exact same FAQ is at Adobe.com, even now, Thursday, 12 Jun 2008.
    ADOBE CREATIVE SUTIE 3 Frequently Asked Questions
    Support for Mac OS X Leopard
    Q. Is Mac OS X Leopard (v10.5) important to Creative Suite 3 customers?
    A. Yes, Mac OS X Leopardthe latest version of Apples operating systemdelivers an elegant,
    productive new computing experience for creative professionals. Adobe and Apple have been
    collaborating closely for months to ensure that Adobe Creative Suite® 3 applications can run
    smoothly and reliably on Mac OS X Leopard. We are proud to support this impressive new
    operating system, and to ensure that our creative customers can take full advantage of the
    performance and value of using Creative Suite 3 applications and Mac OS X Leopard on
    Intel-based and PowerPC Macs.
    Q. Are Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications compatible with Mac OS X Leopard (v10.5)? If
    some are not fully compatible today, when will they be compatible?
    A. Thanks to close collaboration between Adobe and Apple, most of the CS3 applications and associated technologies, such as Adobe Bridge CS3, Version Cue CS3, and Device Central CS3, are compatible with Mac OS X Leopard without requiring additional updates. However, the following CS3 applications will require updates for full compatibility with Leopard: Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and our professional video applications, including Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, After Effects CS3 Professional, Encore CS3, and Soundbooth CS3. We expect to publish free Leopard compatibility updates for the video applications in December 2007 and for Acrobat 8 Professional and Adobe Reader 8 in January 2008. For a complete overview of compatibility between Adobe creative applications and Mac OS X Leopard, see the chart on page 2 of this FAQ.
    Q. Will older versions of Adobe creative softwaresuch as Creative Suite 2 and
    Macromedia Studio 8 softwaresupport Mac OS X Leopard?
    A. While older Adobe applications may install and run on Mac OS X Leopard, they were
    designed, tested, and released to the public several years before this new operating system became available. You may, therefore, experience a variety of installation, stability, and reliability issues for which there is no resolution. Older versions of our creative software will not be updated to support Mac OS X Leopard. For a complete overview of compatibility between Adobe creative applications and Mac OS X Leopard, see the chart on page 2.
    Q. Will Adobe continue to test CS3 applications on Mac OS X Leopard?
    A. Yes. Adobe sets high standards of quality, stability, and reliability for our professional creative
    products, and we have worked closely with Apple to test Creative Suite 3 applications on both pre-release versions and the final shipping version of Mac OS X Leopard. While this testing showed that most CS3 applications perform well on Leopard (and that others run well but need updates for a few identified issues), we recognize that other issues may unexpectedly arise on any new operating system. We plan to continue testing and to monitor user experience closely to address any such issues. If you encounter any issues, please report them by going to www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html and clicking Report
    A Bug. Please note that we dont respond to submissions, but we do review them closely with the appropriate CS3 product teams.
    Q. Which CS3 applications will need patches to be compatible with Mac OS X Leopard?
    A. The following table summarizes compatibility between Adobe creative applications and Mac OS X Leopard. It notes which CS3 applications require updates for full Leopard compatibility and when Adobe expects to release those free updates.

  • Is Adobe CS5 compatible with CS3 and Dreamweaver 8 files

    All,
    We have eight users that are using CS3 (Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat 8) plus Dreamweaver Studio 8 on Windows XP Pro 32-bit.  Two of these users are moving to Windows 7 64-bit.  We don't have it in the budget to upgrade all 8 users.  Will Adobe CS5 Premium files (particularly InDesign and Dreamweaver) work with CS3 and Dreamweaver 8 files?
    Thanks

    InDesign absolutely NOT! InDesign can only save back one version.
    But...CS3 runs just fine on Win7 64 bit.
    I'm not sure about what issues you'll have with Dreamweaver.
    Please post followups in the InDesign and Dreamweaver forums.
