GoLive Actions, CyberGallery in particular

For those who are "married" to GoLive and just can't make the DW transition (me being one of them), I am always looking for useful GL Actions but have found the number of developers to have dwindled. GoLive CS2 is still a very vibrant and ultimately useable application, but Adobe has stopped making and selling it since the spring of 2008. While we can lament and protest all we want, GoLive isn't coming back, but fortunately all is not lost when it comes to Javascript Actions which plug in to GoLive's simple and useful interface.
With my most recent project, I needed an Action for a photo gallery page and did not want to resort to using Flash because of its incompatibility with the iPad. Being a very frequent user of Actions, I came across an action called CyberGallery from ActionsCafe.com which does exactly what I was looking for. I can't say enough about how useful this Action is and what a breeze it is to use inside the GoLive framework. Walter Blady (Mr. ActionsCafe) has always produced (and continues to distribute) a wide selection of extremely useful GL Actions. Ww can, at least, rest easier in knowing that some developers are still out there with stuff for GoLive. Maybe they won't be making NEW things for GoLive, but the selection these guys offer is more than adequate.
Yes, I am a daily GoLive user and rely on these actions for every site I design. While ActionsCafe has ported most of their GL Actions to Dreamweaver, they still continue to offer almost everything for GoLive as well. While Adobe has stopped posting Actions on this website, and most other Actions developers have long since stopped making or distributing their Actions, ActionsCafe is a really good source for GL Actions for GoLive diehards who still don't want to switch to Dreamweaver or to resort to using Flash for things like photo galleries and such.

  • How to set fire action event for particular rows in a table

    HI All,
    I have a requirement in which I want to set fire action event for particular rows in a table based on some condition.
    The table has columns like fullname,employee id etc.
    So i want to set fire action event for particulars rows only which will saisfy some condition.

    Atanu,
    Your approach(setting fire action for few rows) seems not possible. Better to go ahead with workaround.
    Do you want this functionality in processRequest(while page loading) or processFromRequest(on some event) method ? Give more explanation regd. your requirement ?
    In either case loop through the rows and when your condition is met write the action to be performed in controller.

  • GoLive Actions to Dreamweaver Behaviors

    GoLive Actions developed by actionscafé are now being
    ported over to Dreamweaver Behaviors.
    If you're an ex GoLive user and are holding back switching
    some of your site(s) over to DW because you can't find replacement
    Behaviors for actionscafé software, contact
    [email protected] Priority in porting Actions over will be
    given to user's needs.
    Several of the most popular Actions have already been
    converted. Check
    http://www.actionscafe.com/info-Behaviors.html
    to see what's available now.

    I think (I haven't read his PDF) that what he is talking
    about is a library,
    much like Prototype or J-Query where you insert a link to the
    .js file in
    your document and the use the functions that are in the
    script to set
    certain behaviors on your page. Dreamweaver will have
    something similar in
    CS4. This type of functionality is good for people who don't
    know how to
    write advanced scripts but want to feel like they are ;-)

  • DW equivalent to this GoLive action?

    I have a site with some elements using Nate Baldwin's SetImageAndLink.action.
    I'm trying to find the same behavior or extension for DW CS3/5 so that I don't have to re-install GL just to edit a few pages.
    If it doesn't exist, I'll buy a beer for someone who would make it for us!
    Much obliged!
    -jon

    Hmm... I'll have to fix the 2010 image, but the others years are available... .
    Rolling over 1997 brings up the cover images for May 1997 & December 1997 -- a basic image swap; however, it also assigns a link to the particular backissues for that year, so that you can click through to them.
    The same is true for the following years.
    This was created with one of Nate Baldwin's actions for GoLive, & as I add new links here, I'd like to be able to re-code it in DW. If that behavior is available, I may just not know what it's called, or perhaps there is an extension out there that can be installed.
    Thanks.

    The Print Page/Frame action worked perfectly 6 weeks ago; now it doesn't work at all. Instead, I get an error message from Internet Explorer: Please use your browser's print command to print this document. Can anyone tell me where/what I messed up? TIA

    Might have something to do with the browser detection in the script. Have you upgraded explorer recently?

  • How to tell if column value has changed for use in workflow actions

    Hello,
    I am using Sharepoint 2010 and for one of my Lists, I am using a general list workflow.  What I need to be able to do is determine if a column value has change (say an "Assigned To" field) because I only want to take some action if that particular
    value has changed.  I want to be able to have a workflow action that would be something like:
    If Current Item: Assigned To not equals [OLD VALUE]
    I have found some web searches that talk about creating a duplicate list or duplicate (but hidden) column but that doesn't seem to be the way to go.  I have document versioning set but don't if that can be used to help with this.  One possible
    thought (although I haven't tried it to see if it works) is to create local variables and have the values in the variables be the "old value".  Just not sure if there is a best practices for doing this.
    Thanks for any thoughts - Peter

    Helen,
    Not sure I fully understand your goal.  We don't use "tasks" at all but if you are looking to have your workflow check certain valus and be able to send email messages to people based on whatever, then you can certainly do that (as long as your Sharepoint
    has the email setup.  We do this for alot of workflow tasks.
    So, in the workflow you can have a blanket statement like what I previously listed:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus  not equals Current Item:Status
        .... do something
    or you can do something like:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus equals "In-Progress"
        .... do something
    Else if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
        .... do something
    or combine the two and do nested "if" statements.  Then you add an email statement wherever you need it like:
    if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
       then email "these users"
    To add the email part, just type in "email" on the line where you want to add a statment.  There is only one option to choose from.  That will display the line "then email these users".   The "these users" will be a link.  When you
    click it you will get a popup to add the email info.  We typically will send the email to a user (or users) that are already listed in one of the PeoplePicker fields.  On the email form, you can type in your own text, designate that a value is based
    on a column value (like our PeoplePicker), designate that a value is based on a workflow variable, add a link to the current item, etc.  To get to these options you will click the button to the right of the fields or use the "Add or Change Lookup" button
    in the bottom-left for the text area.  There is alot you can set in the mail.
    Does this help answer your question?

  • Leaving action 84 in PA40

    Dear Expert,
    Please let me know how to assign leaving action 84 only  in tcode PA40 in a particular user, i have already assign parameter ID UGR with value 40, all action are appear there bu we have to provide leaving action 84 only, suggest me the object or any other steps which we have to take.
    Thanks in advance

    >If the same UGR(as per your post 40) is maintained for all other Action types  ?
    >The answer is yes,then
    (If you maintained the same same UGR(40) for all action types including Leaving action 84  and in the user profile of that particular user you maintained UGR as 40 then  that user can access all the Action Types defined with UGR 40)
    >Please maintain a different UGR(Say 88 ) for that particular action , and assign that different UGR (Say 88) to the profile of that particular user
    >After made changes in the UGR for that particular action, please talk with you BASIS person and make changes regarding  UGR(change UGR from 40 to the new one , here say 88) settings for that particular user's profile

  • Standard PNP selection screen problem in reason for action type

    Hi all,
    We have used standard PNP in one of our report program.
    The input for 'Reason for Action' (excluding a particular reason for action ) has no effect on the actual selection of data from the PNP. i.e. even if a particular reason for action is excluded in the selection, record pertaining to that action for reason is still picked in the PNP selection and passed on to the program through Get PERNR statement.
    The above problem seems to affect all the standard and custom HR Reports as well.
    Please advise on how exactly the excluding of a particular reason for action work in selection through PNP and is there anyway to solve the problem.
    eagerly waiting for your response.
    Thanking You,

  • How to add table actions to an Advanced Table programmatically

    We have code in my CO which builds an advanced table dynamically and associates it with a VO. The table comes out looking good - the correct columns and data are displayed.
    I now want to add Table Actions for that particular dynamically created table.
    The code below builds the buttons correctly and they are built/rendered just fine.
    After adding this code to build the FlowLayout bean, add the buttons and associate the it to the TableActions of the advanced table bean, none of the buttons on the page work anymore. Each time I click any button (even if it's a page level button like 'Save' or 'Cancel'), I get the following error:
    +## Detail 0 ##+
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    +     at java.util.Hashtable.get(Hashtable.java:336)+
    I have added debug statements in by CO, but it is never even getting into the ProcessFormRequest
    Below is the code we are using. Can anyone suggest a way to have this flow layout created dynamically like this and not break all button functionality on the page?
    //Create the advanced table
    OAAdvancedTableBean tableBeanP1 = (OAAdvancedTableBean)createWebBean(pageContext, ADVANCED_TABLE_BEAN, null,"Proc1Tab");
    tableBeanP1.setViewUsageName("P100DetailsVO1");
    tableBeanP1.setNumberOfRowsDisplayed(10);
    //Create a new flow layout to be used as the table actions
    OAFlowLayoutBean tableActionBean = (OAFlowLayoutBean)createWebBean(pageContext, FLOW_LAYOUT_BEAN, null, "P1ButtonRegion");
    //Create the "Add Control Group" button for this table:
    OAButtonBean addButtonBean = (OAButtonBean)createWebBean(pageContext, BUTTON_BEAN, null, "P1AddCtrlGroup");
    FireAction FireActionAddGroup = new FireAction();
    FireActionAddGroup.setEvent("AddCtrlGroup");
    Parameter param = new Parameter();
    param.setKey("ProcedureIndex");
    param.setValue("1");
    Parameter[] params = {param};
    FireActionAddGroup.setParameters(params);
    addButtonBean.setPrimaryClientAction(FireActionAddGroup);
    addButtonBean.setText("Add Control Group");
    tableActionBean.addIndexedChild(addButtonBean);
    //Add the table actions bean to the table:
    tableBeanP1.setTableActions(tableActionBean);

    Hello Ashley,
    you are already close to the solution. In BADI QISR1 you simply fill the
    table SPECIAL_DATA e.g.like
      fieldindex = 1
      fieldname = 'FIELD1'
      fieldvalue = 'Value1'
      fieldindex = <n>
      fieldname = 'FIELD1'
      fieldvalue = 'VALUE<n>'
    Then on the Adobe form layout (Adobe Designer), you have to use the table control XFO from the standard library. Here you have to bind then the corresponding column to FIELD1.
    Best regards,
    Simon

  • Can I attach a specific action to a choice in a list box or combo box?

    I have a list of 26 sports that I would like people to choose from--in either a list box or combo box or any other tool that would work best. When they choose a particular sport, I would like another PDF to appear with the roster for that sport for this year, allowing them to check off certain players.  Is this possible? Everything I see is in javascript or some other language that I don't know.
    Thanks.
    Anne

    I am piling on Gary's question, as I would like to know the answer as well. But first a little more color in case there is another way to do this....
    When I get an email, I usually take some sort of action. I currently do not have a good way to note the actions I have taken against any particular email. This is why I want to know how to attach a note or a To Do to a particular email. I thought the To Do list would work, but when I type a To Do with a particular email sometimes it appears in the list and sometimes it doesn't.
    So my goal is to have a way to create a history of action against a particular email.
    Gary, I hope this is a valuable extension to your request as opposed to a diversion from your original intent. With any luck together we'll get a bit more traction for your request.
    Thanks.

  • Using Actions to SaveForWeb: Unable to keep file name

    ENVIRONMENT:
    start with an AI document, saved as an eps.
    I have Actions to format the graphic. (one layer)
    GOAL:
    Am trying to automate a Save For Web, resize and KEEP THE FILE NAME, with only the file TYPE changing.
    PROBLEM:
    I wrote an Action specifying a particular folder to save the jpg to. If i run the Action it will default to the name it was originally saved with. For example, one.eps will save as one.jpg. two.eps will save as one.jpg.
    If i delete or rename the folder, the file name will default to the FOLDER NAME. For example one.eps will save as "ExportFolder.jpg"
    MY QUESTION:
    Does anyone know how to make it keep the file name of the individual file? or any other tips on using Actions to export.

  • Dynamic Actions in Oracle APEX

    Hello all,
    I am using Oracle APEX 4.0.
    In an application, on a page I am using two standard dynamic actions
    to show particular items to the user.
    The first one is working fine but when I select the item which

    I tried all the three event scopes bind, live and once.
    But it didn't worked out. Please suggest something?

    Your question is very vague, you ll have to provide more details about what each of those dynamic actions does.
