GoLive CS2 and Leopard 10.5.5

Is anybody running Leopard 10.5.5 on a Mac Pro and using GoLive CS2?
I have to upgrade to Leopard and would like some feedback if there is any issues.
Thanks,

There might be problems installing it though if you already have CS3 installed. General rule for other Adobe apps is that if you have CS3 installed and want to install CS2 apps you first need to de-activate and de-install CS3, then install CS2, then re-install cs3. my CS2 was already on the machine when CS3 came around and later Leopard, so am unsure if that implies for GoLive CS2 as well. It might as the adobe apps use some common files which can complicate installations.

  • CS2 and Leopard. Place image crashes program

I installed Leopard (latest updates) yesterday. Everything is playing nice except IDCS2 that crashes when I try to place an image into an existing CS2 doc..
So many of my clients are only CS2 compatible, so must work on their docs in CS2.
I accidentally posted this in another thread. Apologizing in advance.

Thanks all for the messages of doom ;-)
Trashed ID 4 prefs and now all is well.
Did clone my Tiger system just in case, but switch has so far been very good.
I did an archive and install, and made sure to run repair disk and permissions before installing new system.
Machine runs faster, even GoLive (CS2, not 9) is faster. Benefits have so far outweighed any negatives. Only had piddly stuff that was easy to fix.
Of course ID4 on Leopard is unsupported by Adobe. That would have been a given. LOL

  • GoLive CS2 and Lion

Just upgraded to Lion and see that Lion does not support my old, but trusty, GoLive CS2. Any workaround? I just know this program so well and would like to continue using it. I think there is a GoLive 9.... can you still buy that? Thanks.

    From Wikipedia:
Adobe GoLive was a WYSIWYG HTML editor and web site management application from Adobe Systems. It replaced Adobe PageMill as Adobe's primary HTML editor and was itself discontinued in favour of Dreamweaver. The last version of GoLive that Adobe released was GoLive 9.
Dreamweaver eventually became the dominant WYSIWYG HTML editor in both market and mindshare. After the Adobe acquisition, GoLive was progressively re-targeted toward Adobe's traditional design market, and the product became better integrated with Adobe's existing suite of design-oriented software products and less focused on the professional web development market.
The Adobe CS2 Premium suite contained GoLive CS2. With the release of Creative Suite 3, Adobe integrated Dreamweaver as a replacement for GoLive and released GoLive 9 as a standalone product.
Apparently GoLive 9 will run on your new Mac; but I do not see any copies for sale on Amazon or eBay.
You can continue to run your version of GoLive CS2 if you:
    1.  Partition your hard disk or add an external hard disk and install Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta) into it, and "dual-boot" into Snow Leopard when you want to run GoLive CS2; or
    2.   Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels for use in Lion or Mt. Lion:

  • Camera raw CS2 and Leopard

I have been using CS2 with Leopard.I upgraded from CS online with a download to CS2. My hard drive crashed. I was sent a link via email thru Adobe to download CS2 again. When I downloaded/installed the program, when opening Bridge the message I got was"The Application could not load Adobe Camera Raw. Use the Adobe Bridge Installer to install the adobe camera raw plug-in. I have 3.7 in the place that Ramo'n mentioned and no where else. What am I doing wrong can it work with out having to go to a lower Operating system?

    Kellie,
    >
"Use the Adobe Bridge Installer to install the adobe camera raw plug-in"
That error message is incomprehensible. There is no independent "Bridge Installer" and Bridge has absolutely nothing to do with installing the Camera Raw plug.in.
I can't begin to imagine what would generate such a message error, ever.
I hope someone from the ACR Team responds to your post in this forum. The creator of both Photoshop and Camera Raw, Thomas Knoll, and one of the ACR Engineers, Eric Chan, are very active here, as is Jeff Schewe, who wrote THE book on Camera Raw.
I'm sure no one is ignoring you here, but, as I told you earlier, CS2 is not supported under Leopard. Basically, it it runs fine, if it doesn't, too bad.

  • GoLive CS2 and Mac Lion OS

Does anyone know if GoLive CS2 (8.0.1) is compatible with the new Mac Lion OS? It works fine with Snow Leopard.

CS2 was written for PPC processors. Lion will not run any programs written for PPC processors. Lion lacks Rosetta, the PPC emulator you have in Snow Leopard.

  • Golive CS2 and 10.5

I use Golive CS2 with OS 10.4.11. I know Golive has problems with 10.5 but what are they? I ask because I will be getting a new Mac and wonder if I can still use Golive to open and do simple edits on my existing web site.
    TIA.
    Allan

I use Golive CS2 (8.0.1) on Intel iMac 2.16 Core 2 Duo (white) with OS-10.5.8. I didn't use the CS2 installer though, but retrieved my apps from my G4 using the migration tool. As someone stated, it crashes sometimes, but not so often. For instance if you try to drag a pdf document from the desktop into the .site folders. Or if you forget to disconnect the line to the distant server, and when you wake the machine from sleep, you click the upload command without disconnecting first. But dragging a pdf into the distant server folders works. Drag and drop between the .site files and other applications is not active. Double clicking on images in opened pages to edit them in Photoshop still works. I don't know however if it behaves the same on any of such configurations.

  • Photoshop CS2 and Leopard

I recently upgraded to 10.5 (now 10.5.7), and I have the CS2 Creative Suite. My Illiustrator seems to work fine, but my Photoshop will not open. Any patches or solutions? I can fine CS3 help on Adobe.com, but none for CS2 regarding Illustrator.

CS2 is not supported in Leopard and never will be.
There are no patches, there will never be any patches.
CS2 is running in Rosetta another level of problems. Its time to upgrade.

  • CS2 and Leopard

Running on a G4 1.42daul, clean install of everything. InDesign is quitting sometimes on startup and sometimes on export to pdf. I have to fix permissions, toss prefs and restart to do anything, and it's getting progressively worse.
    Any thoughts?

FWIW when I've discovered that it's something in my user account that's corrupted (twice so far in 5 years of using OSX); I've been able to fix it by forcing OS X to build new contents for my Library folder. For me it's a lot faster than migrating to a new account or wiping the drive or whatever.
It's the same end result because the only thing different between a one user account vs. another user account, as far as apps and the system are concerned, is the content of the user's Home > Library folder.
So I quit all my programs, make a new folder on my desktop called "Old library items" and drag the contents of Library over to it (but leave the original Library folder itself in its current location, now empty). Then I restart.
As you start programs, the apps or OS X recreate default settings and folders inside it as necessary.
Of course then you're forced to rebuild important things like Keychain; but since you still have the old contents you can test dragging it over to replace the default and see if everything's still working.
The last time this happened, I dragged out just my "suspect" folders from Library; like Fonts and Preferences; and tried that ... it fixed itself.

  • GoLive CS2 and Contribute.

    Hi there,
I am working on a website project where the owners of the site need to edit the content. I have thought about using Contribute, but there is no mention of GoLive support, only the dreaded DreamWeaver.
Can I create sites in GoLive that can be edited using Contribute?
    Thanks as always,
    Anil.

Thanks Viola for taking the time to reply to my question.
I pretty much thought I could use Contribute to update my sites, just wanted to hear from another actual user.
    Again thanks,
    Anil.

  • GoLive CS2 to GoLive CS

    Hola
I made a website in GoLive CS2 long time ago (about 3 years)
I made that website in my ex computer
I moved, change office, etc, and I don't have CS2 but I have CS (Golive)
Well, the other day, I tried to open the website in GoLive CS, but got a
warning that said that I cannot open it, because it was made in a "Much Newer Version"
    Are you kidding me?
    How can I open it?
    Can I?
Do I need a plug it?
    R U Seriousus?
    What can I do?
I cannot find anywhere GoLive CS2 and or I don't want to pay $399 for it
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Daniel Ulysses

"In CS, try making a new site from existing content."
    Hola Kath-H
    How can I do this?
And about the other CD, well, it was my ex who had it.  I don't see her anymore, so, I don't have it
I try to call Adobe and ask for a upgrade --to CS2-- but they said that it was not possible.
I also try to buy one of those in a website, but "they" don't have the program alone, so
its even more than $390 or so.
I try to open it in DW, it open --finally-- and I was able to change the only 2 changes
that they requirer, but I'm not sure that if I upload it, it may change other stuff or not work at all
Friday I bought  GoLive CS 2 from a OMB or something like that a downloadable program
They addvertise that its automatic, once you pay, you can download it,
    Guess what?
Its not true, now I have to wait 24 hours ( now are 48 and still waiting)
    So, there's where I am.
Waiting for that program, hoping that I don't have to change much on that website.
Another thing, I have a nav made in MenuMachine, that when I open it in DW, DW cannot "see" it or can not show it.
However, when I preview in explorer, it's there. My mmm...fear is that if I upload it, Is everything going to be there?
    I don't know, will see
    Thanks
    Daniel

  • GoLive CS2 Linguistic Library

    Hola
I was checking my spelling in GoLive CS2 and it came an error ms. that said
"The Adobe Linguistic Library could not be loaded.
Please make sure that the Adobe Lingustic Library is installed properly"
    Where can I find this?
    Thanks

    Thanks to all
I read all about the Linguistic Library but still cannot fix it.
I think that Nate it's right.
    Thanks

  • Cannot cannect to a particular ftp via both Dreamweaver 8 & GoLive CS2

OK, my trouble is a little complicated.
I have two different FTP servers: One is provided by
Dreamhost, another is provided by Startlogic.
Suddenly, it became unable to connect to Startlogic's ftp in
Dreamweaver MX2004. So, I upgraded to 8 in order to see if it works
again. No, it is no longer able to work on ftp connection. My ftp
setting is just correct. By the way, my OS is Windows 2000.
Here's the error message: "The connection to the remote host
has been lost. Click refresh to reconnect."
Then, I click "OK" and I get this error message: "togglinng
the 'Use Passive FTP" check box may help you establish a
connection. Select or de-select the checkbox and click Test to try
again. If the problem persists, check your network setting,
including the local firewall settings on your computer, or consult
    your network administrator."
So, I did what the message instructed
Then, I get another long error message: "An FTP error
occurred. - cannot get a remote folder information. Dreamweaver
could not connect to the server. This may be due to one or more of
    the following reasons: ...."
On the other hand, there is no problem with Dreamhost ftp. I
have tried to test with different applications such as GoLive CS2
and a generic ftp application. Only Startlogic's ftp does not work
on both Dreamweaver and GoLive, but it works on ta generic ftp
    application.
I tried to connect to Startlogic's ftp on a ftp application
from a different computer. It was a success. I have not tested
    Dreamweaver and GoLive though.
I have some other accounts of Startlogic's ftp and tried to
test those ftp. None of them worked via Dreamweaver on my computer.
Now, I don't understand why I cannot connect to only
Startlogic's ftp with Dreamweaver 8 & GoLive CS2. Is it my
computer's fault? Is it caused by some bugs on Dreamweaver 8 &
GoLive CS2? I asked Startlogic's tech support but they said that
they could connect to my ftp. I don't have firewall software
installed. My router might have though. My network admin has no
    idea why it causes this.
    Should I reinstall those Dreamweaver 8 & GoLive CS2
    anyway?
Thank you for your help in advance.

The answer is always the same. Check your firewall for its
    interference.

  • Leopard compatible with GoLive CS2?

Hello! is my Mac OSX Leopard (version 10.5.4) compatible with Adobe GoLive CS2 8.0? Thanks so much!

I'm currently running GL 8.0.1 on an intel, macpro running OS 10.5.5 and with some minor issues it runs as it should. One thing to watch for is that it does quit at random times (sometimes simply cutting text), and when it quits it brings down the whole system and the mac restarts. So save often, not just in GL but any other files that are open at the same time. Enjoy!

  • Font corruption and Adobe GoLive CS2 V 8.0

After 10.6.7 upgrade via Combo (Safe mode; DW; RP etc) , Camino & Chrome crashed. (Seamonkey, iCab, Omniweb, Safari & Opera did not) This was due to a corrupted Font, fixed via FontBook.
Being somewhat non-Font orientated my simple websites displayed Apple Chancery on my new iPad but displayed 'cursive' on wife's 10.6.6 which my iMac (10.6.6) also used to display.(??)
On 10.6.7 all my sites displayed Apple Chancery on 10.6.7 ... fixed by changing Fonts.
Adobe GoLive CS2 8.0.1 pretended to upload 'changed' files but never did! I had to 'delete-drag-drop' or use Transmit to upload changed files?
I duplicated some of these files only to find CS2 never uploaded the changed files!!
Does 10.6.7 break Adobe GoLIve 8.0.1??
In 10.6.6 I had some embedded MP3 files and 10.6.6 played these no problem. 10.6.7 will not play them from the website but plays them locally?
I tried all sorts of methods including javascript but 10.6.7 would not play them even after booting Paralells and IE8/9?
As I use a free ISP (ByetHost) to check my sites I transferred one to my homesite with the same result?
I am of the opinion that 10.6.7 breaks GoLive CS2 (Please! Not Dreamweaver!!)
I have a 10.6.6 SuperDooper 10.6.6 to go back to but worry what 'Lion' will bring??
Anyone else with similar problems afte upgrade to 10.6.7??

Thanks, R C-R, I am aware of the Font dependency on platforms but wondered why it suddenly reverted to the 'correct' font after installing 10.6.7. My previous OS upgrades didn't do this so I assumed 10.6.7 showed the 'true state' whereas previous upgrades didn't.
I checked my F/W backup of 10.6.6 and found 2 Fonts that were inadvisable to use so this is where Camino/Chrome crashed due to these Fonts. I consider it an 'Installation' problem as it never happened before.
The GoLive problem was of my doing and is now sorted.
However, part of this GolIve problem was found to be related to embedding MP3 in web pages and I assumed it was the install of 10.6.7 that activated this. I now believe it was either iTunes 10 or Safari 5 (10.6.7 installs Safari 5??) or both.
I shall close this thread and continue on http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2454051&start=75&tstart=0
