GoLive CS2 and Mac Lion OS

Does anyone know if GoLive CS2 (8.0.1) is compatible with the new Mac Lion OS? It works fine with Snow Leopard.

CS2 was written for PPC processors. Lion will not run any programs written for PPC processors. Lion lacks Rosetta, the PPC emulator you have in Snow Leopard.

Just upgraded to Lion and see that Lion does not support my old, but trusty, GoLive CS2. Any workaround? I just know this program so well and would like to continue using it. I think there is a GoLive 9.... can you still buy that? Thanks.

Adobe GoLive was a WYSIWYG HTML editor and web site management application from Adobe Systems. It replaced Adobe PageMill as Adobe's primary HTML editor and was itself discontinued in favour of Dreamweaver. The last version of GoLive that Adobe released was GoLive 9.
Dreamweaver eventually became the dominant WYSIWYG HTML editor in both market and mindshare. After the Adobe acquisition, GoLive was progressively re-targeted toward Adobe's traditional design market, and the product became better integrated with Adobe's existing suite of design-oriented software products and less focused on the professional web development market.
The Adobe CS2 Premium suite contained GoLive CS2. With the release of Creative Suite 3, Adobe integrated Dreamweaver as a replacement for GoLive and released GoLive 9 as a standalone product.
Apparently GoLive 9 will run on your new Mac; but I do not see any copies for sale on Amazon or eBay.
You can continue to run your version of GoLive CS2 if you:
1. Partition your hard disk or add an external hard disk and install Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta) into it, and "dual-boot" into Snow Leopard when you want to run GoLive CS2; or
2. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels for use in Lion or Mt. Lion:

Is anybody running Leopard 10.5.5 on a Mac Pro and using GoLive CS2?
I have to upgrade to Leopard and would like some feedback if there is any issues.

There might be problems installing it though if you already have CS3 installed. General rule for other Adobe apps is that if you have CS3 installed and want to install CS2 apps you first need to de-activate and de-install CS3, then install CS2, then re-install cs3. my CS2 was already on the machine when CS3 came around and later Leopard, so am unsure if that implies for GoLive CS2 as well. It might as the adobe apps use some common files which can complicate installations.

Golive CS2 and 10.5

I use Golive CS2 with OS 10.4.11. I know Golive has problems with 10.5 but what are they? I ask because I will be getting a new Mac and wonder if I can still use Golive to open and do simple edits on my existing web site.

I use Golive CS2 (8.0.1) on Intel iMac 2.16 Core 2 Duo (white) with OS-10.5.8. I didn't use the CS2 installer though, but retrieved my apps from my G4 using the migration tool. As someone stated, it crashes sometimes, but not so often. For instance if you try to drag a pdf document from the desktop into the .site folders. Or if you forget to disconnect the line to the distant server, and when you wake the machine from sleep, you click the upload command without disconnecting first. But dragging a pdf into the distant server folders works. Drag and drop between the .site files and other applications is not active. Double clicking on images in opened pages to edit them in Photoshop still works. I don't know however if it behaves the same on any of such configurations.

Windows 7 and Mac Lion partition maps don't match

I recently upgraded the hard drive in my late 2008 Macbook, and I wanted to copy both my Windows 7 and OSX Lion partitions. I used Time Machine to back up my Lion partition and Windows Backup to back up 7. Then I switched the hard drives, restored Lion with no problem, partitioned the drive into two bigger parts than were on the old harddrive, and restored 7. My problem is this; Disk Utility in Lion shows the correct partition sizes (420 GB for Lion, 480ish for 7), but the Windows 7 Disk Management shows the old partition size (150ish for Lion, 160ish for 7). The rest is just shown as free space. I've tried using the "extend file system into free space" option in Windows 7's Disk Management, but that overwrites most of Lion's data (since Disk Management thinks that its free space). My question is how do I get the partition maps to sync up? I have rEFIt, but when I tell it to sync partition tables, Windows 7 crashes and won't start without a reboot. I'm starting to hate Windows 7...

From your posts I assume that you have 3 drives:
drive A - new internal with MacOSX and Boot Camp/Windows partitions.
drive B - the original internal with MacOSX and Boot Camp/Windows partitions.
Back up external drive(s) with TimeMachine and Windows Backup.
Forget the Backup Drive(s) for now.
You will need a way to connect the original drive to the Mac via USB . If it is not in an enclosure then one of these connectors will do the job.

I think you will need to use Winclone as Paragon is a windows startup application and I don't dee how you can do that unless you reinstall the original drive B (can't start Windows from an external drive). There is a Paragon recovery CD you can burn but I don't know what the limitations are with burning from the Mac. Maybe check with the company.
Since drive-A has a good mac OSX install you need to clone the Boot Camp/Windows partition from the original drive-B to new drive-A. You should start up from drive-A and connect drive-B. Use Winclone to replace the drive-A Boot Camp partition with the original drive-B Boot Camp partition.
If the Paragon recovery cd will work then you start from this disk and clone the original drive-B Boot Camp Partition to the new drive-A Boot Camp Partition.

C5150 and mac lion OS

I have a HP Photosmart C5150 All-In-One printer using the MAC LION OS. I suddenly cannot scan with out the computer telling me that there is another program using the scanner. I have turned all programs off and rebooted to no avail. Do I need to reload any drivers? I use to be able to scan, save, email and print all scans that I wanted in the past. Anybody got any ideas?

Photoshop CS2 and mac upgrade to OS 10.6 ?

I just upgraded my imac to OS 10.6 and now my Photoshop CS2 tries to open but then closes down suddenly. My Illustrator works fine.

When you installed OSX 10.6 it doesn't install Rosetta by default.
Rosetta is necessary to run Power PC applications in 10.6 on Intel Macs
You need to use your OSX install disk and just install Rosetta
Then without opening PS, Click the PS CS2 application icon in the Finder (the application not the folder) use Get Info (command I) and make sure "Open using Rosetta" is checked.
Snow Leopard OSX 10.6 is the last version of OSX that still has Rosetta and you won't be able to use any more OSX upgades.
You should either upgrade to CS6 or you will be stuck using Snow Leopard forever. CS2 is already out of the upgrade path.

Any way to get GoLive CS2 on Mac OS 10.6.3?

Just bought a new computer, and now my fav programming tool can't be used. I know Dreamweaver is supposed to be better, but so much of my recurring work is in GoLive, and it's easier to keep it there. Newer sites I do in Dreamweaver, but I need GoLive for the older projects. Any way to make it work?

I am having the same issue. My computer has been running CS2 on Snow Leopard up until last Sunday. The computer hard drive went bad, Apple repaired it and when I restored from Time Machine, it wants me to activate but does not give me an activation number.
Adobe Technical Support said I needed to post here to get it resolved.

Trouble installing GoLive CS2 on Mac OS X

I just de-activated the program on my old Vaio which was crashing, and in trying to install to this new Mac (Version 10.5.6) I don't get an icon for installation. It took me an hour on the phone to find out Adobe doesn't support the program anymore and that I should go to Forums. Anyone else have this problem?

You need to look at the installation media and recognize that you have a Windows license if it was installed on your Vaio. That won't work on Mac. Welcome to Mac.
Directly ask Adobe Customer Service for upgrade/crossgrade options to Dreamweaver. (or you can install Windows on your new Mac so that you can install GoLive)

Print with HP laserjet CP 1025 color and Mac Lion 10.7.3

I have an HP laserjet CP1025 color and I am trying to print with Mac Book Pro 10.7.3. I updated the printer firmware to LJCP1020_FWupdate and also update my laptop with HPPrintersDrivers2.8
Still I dont know how to print. The printer doesnot appear anywhere. Is it possible to print or do I need to change the printer?, which is the next step?

Flash and mac-lion future of conflict

hello - i realize that apple and adobe have had a bit of a feud recently.
i tried out a flash application that required a security question in the "Adobe Flash Player Settings" window, and the left-click no longer works. this is apparently a very well documented problem:

i am very surprised (and a little disappointed) that adobe has not been addressed yet, since lion has been out for a couple of months now!
it seems the future of flash is in question because of apple-iPad and iPhone, but i didnt think there was a problem on the desktops and laptops too!

This was a problem with Lion and the previous version of Flash Player (which was released, iirc, before Lion was released to the public) but it was addressed for most systems with our latest 10.3.183.7 build that is available here. There is one known issue with a certain model iMac/video card combination (Model Identifier: iMac7,1/ATI,Radeon HD2600) that still exhibits this issue. We're working closely with Apple and ATI to address it as soon as possible.

BT Cloud and Mac Lion 10.7. Software will not run.

I have just downloaded the BT Cloud software on a new iMac running 10.8 Mountain Lion and it runs perfectly. However have done the same on an older iMac running 10.7 Lion and, whilst the software downloads and installs OK, it won't run. When clicking the BT Cloud icon nothing happens. Has anyone else found this to be a probem and have a solution?

Im having the same problem and its not the first time... it happens alot...
I download and once i restart and start to install it gets as far as to the writeing part and thats when it says it cant be installd.
I do it manually and all i get is
"Invalid Checksum"
Great thing when you cant even upgrade the basesoftware..........

GoLive CS2 and Contribute.

I am working on a website project where the owners of the site need to edit the content. I have thought about using Contribute, but there is no mention of GoLive support, only the dreaded DreamWeaver.
Can I create sites in GoLive that can be edited using Contribute?

GoLive CS2 to GoLive CS

I made a website in GoLive CS2 long time ago (about 3 years)
I made that website in my ex computer
I moved, change office, etc, and I don't have CS2 but I have CS (Golive)
Well, the other day, I tried to open the website in GoLive CS, but got a
warning that said that I cannot open it, because it was made in a "Much Newer Version"
Are you kidding me?
How can I open it?
Can I?
Do I need a plug it?
R U Seriousus?
What can I do?
I cannot find anywhere GoLive CS2 and or I don't want to pay $399 for it
Any suggestions?

And about the other CD, well, it was my ex who had it. I don't see her anymore, so, I don't have it
I try to call Adobe and ask for a upgrade --to CS2-- but they said that it was not possible.
I also try to buy one of those in a website, but "they" don't have the program alone, so
its even more than $390 or so.
I try to open it in DW, it open --finally-- and I was able to change the only 2 changes
that they requirer, but I'm not sure that if I upload it, it may change other stuff or not work at all
Friday I bought GoLive CS 2 from a OMB or something like that a downloadable program
They addvertise that its automatic, once you pay, you can download it,
Guess what?
Its not true, now I have to wait 24 hours ( now are 48 and still waiting)
So, there's where I am.
Waiting for that program, hoping that I don't have to change much on that website.
Another thing, I have a nav made in MenuMachine, that when I open it in DW, DW cannot "see" it or can not show it.
However, when I preview in explorer, it's there. My mmm...fear is that if I upload it, Is everything going to be there?
