GoLive Keep Quitting and Won't Launch!!

Hi there people...
I was working away perfectly on GoLive CS2 yesterday, but today it will not even open for me... it keeps quitting... I have thrown out the prefs file and still no difference... the one thing I don't want to loose is all my FTP{ server details... I have all my client FTP login setting in there.... anyone got any ideas...??
Where are these FTP login settings held so that I can make a backup for replacement later....??
Any comments most welcome...
Yours sincerely,
Anthony

>Can I hit the "quit operation" button for everything that I see in there?
No, I wouldn't do that. I just meant if you had any utilities like font management, anti-virus, etc. running in the background. Just looking for what might be different between the new/clean account and the normal account.
Could still be a font issue, but the only way I'd know to find that out would be to make a backup of your user font folder:
(hard drive) / Users / (your account) / Library / Fonts
...then, copy over the Fonts folder from the clean account to replace the one in your user account and restart the machine. If GoLive still won't launch, then you could always put your back-up in place and restart again to get all your previous fonts loaded.
Or, there's always this option:

Beyond that, I really don't know what else to recommend outside a fresh system reformat and install, sorry.

Well, I hadn't rebooted after the 7.1.1 upgrade, but obviously I had to restart iTunes. After I rebooted my iBook iTunes worked... Maybe the 7.1.1 update should be marked with a must reboot?

Select Force Quit from under the Apple menu and select Mail (it may say that it isn't responding).

My mac keeps quiting and restarting, like the power has gone out but it hasn't, any ideas?

Which version of OS X do you have installed and please describe your iMac's specifications. Without this vital information it is difficult to help you. Also please complete your profile so we can find out about your system, if you don't know how please click Profile Update for instructions. It will not show on this thread however it will on your next thread.

  • Mail won't quit and won't receive messages

My Mail.app won't quit (needs to be forced quit) and won't pick up new messages. It does send, but it won't register as having done so. How do I reinstall it? I don't want to have to reinstall Leopard from scratch. It seems to think it's offline, because it eventually times out, but it doesn't say it's offline in the menu and taking it offline and putting it back doesn't help. Thanks.

    try the following:
    1) log in as another user and try to use Mail - if you don't have another user created on your computer, just create one as a test. If with that other user you can access Mail and work in it, then you may have a user specific issue. If you still have the same issue then you may have a Mail specific issue.
    2) If Mail works under another user, then go to application>utilities>disk utility and repair permissions. Then try Mail again under your main user account. If not solved then go to 3)
    3) Do a custom install from your Leopard disk, and re-install Mail only.
    hope this helps.

What version of Photo? Of the OS? what has recently changed?
You can try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - from the resulting first aid window repair permissions and if necessary rebuild your database

  • 250 solitare quit and won't reopen

purchased game at itune store and worked fine for a while. then quit and will not reopen?

You likely ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below. If you use any iWork applications, you may need to delete them and redownload them from the App Store.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.10 ("Yosemite"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.
