1. while moving the objects from dev to prod since the objects are in different SLDs like grouping of TS etc

Regarding your GO-live check please do the following:
1) For transportation , make two diffrent grps for Development & Prodcution SLD and assign all your application business systems to your ISD & ISP respectively and do the mapping between Delopment & production grps.
2) make a back up of IR & ID .tpz files and do the export / import of IR & ID .tpz files.
3) Also please refer the note 817920 for readiness.

Questions on Golive - DW8 Migration
I'm a long-time GoLive user - I started testing both apps at
v. 1.0, and Dreamwever didn't get good until version 3, but by that
time I was heavily invested in GoLive.
I now am ready to switch, but i've got a laundry list of
questions of the "I know how to do it in GoLive, how do I do it in
DW?" variety? I've committed to switching, so I'm not looking to
debate which is better - I just want to know how to keep my
productivity up during (and after) the transition
If anyone cares to educate me, i'd love some assistance:
1)I've got 400+ pages and files in one of the 50+ sites that
I work on regularly. So i'm not intimately familiar with the layout
of this particular site. I know I need to edit the contact us page,
but I don't remember if its called contactus.html, or
/about/contact.html or /buried/deep/in/bowels/of/site/contact.html.
In Golive, I type 'contact' into the search box in the site
management window and all files with the word 'contact' pop up for
me to inspect and see which one I want to edit.
How can I quickly find a page/image/file in Dreamweaver if I
know (a portion of) the name?
2)I've got a PDF file in my site that I need to make sure is
linked in, and see which pages are linked to it. In Golive, there's
a 'link in/out' window that shows me all links to and from a
page/image/file. Is there some such beast in Dreamweaver? Looking
in the archives, all I see is the 'delete the file and then see
which pages it says you'll be modifying' method, which seems scary
to me, since my fingers sometimes move of their own accord and I
don't want to REALLY delete the file
3)This whole 'put dependent files' thing has me frustrated.
Lets assume i'm working on a site that I just built from scratch
today, and it has lots of little images. I've uploaded the entire
site to the server, but now I need to create a new image and add it
to one page. In Golive, i'd click the 'upload modified files'
button, and those two files would be uploaded.
In DW8, best I can understand it, I click the 'upload' button
for the page, and I'm given the choice to 'upload dependent files'.
This uploads all 30 images associated with this page, even tho they
weren't changed. Is there some better way to do this?
Likewise, if I just edited an image deep in the heirarchy of
the site, but didn't edit the page, and I only need to upload that
image, is there any button for checking modified files so I don't
have to bother uploading the entire page & images again? This
wouldn't be an issue if DW8 didn't make me wait until the upload
was done before letting me work on something else. I thought this
was something that DW had better than Golive for a while and now
they've lost that feature?
4)Keyboard shortcuts for site window. This may be a Mac OS X
thing, but I would think that a program more geared towards
'coders' rather than 'designers' would be more keyboard-friendly. I
want to be able to navigate the 'files' window of my site by
keyboard - arrows up /down to find a folder, Command-arrow
down/right to open a folder and continue navigating, etc... At
least on my system, this doesn't work - no way to open a folder
other than double-click on it. Am I missing something?
5)SFTP with Authentication - I'm able to successfully connect
to my SFTP server using Transmit/Interarchy, etc, but not
Dreamweaver. I found an old post that says that DW MX doesn't
support non-password authentication - is this true for DW 8 as
well?

will probably be lurking here for a few months as I get the hang of
things now that i've joined 'the other side' :)
Thank you!Bump - I did figure out # 3.5 above - I found the 'select
modified files' and it will tell me everything I modified that day.
Of course, that doesn't help when I work on 14 files in the morning
and 2 in the afternoon - its still going to select and therefore
upload all 16, but at least that's better than all 300+ files.
I'm most interested to see what people say about #1 and #2 -
how do I find a file in my large site, and how do I find out what
pages are linked to a specific page or image, other then by
'almost-deleting' it? -

I will list out few of critical issues in
Implementation :
1 . Ensure 100% mapping of business process for all modules with SAP(avoid customization in support phase)
2. Unit & Integeration testing should be through with all validations
3. Master datas(Vendor,Customer) care must be taken will uploading datas thru LSMW,
If there are common vendors for all plants,Create a vendor for a plant extend it to other plants
4. Check tax procedures are customized according to requirements.
5. Complete all print document customizations before go live
6. Complete end user training(2 or more cycles) should be top priority before go live(This will avoid
cancellation/reversal of documents after post go live)
7. Ready with standard MIS reports & customized reports for business decision making
8. Excise opening balance updation in tables for RG1 register in tables(Note 951955) on go live
9. Check all tables datas are updating correctly
10. Declare go live to SAP Support
11. Check All user authorization should be correct according to their roles.
12. Centeralize all master datas creation(avoid duplication)
13. Create transaction variants to avoid entires in unnecessary fields & make certain fields mandatory.
14. Ensure document numbering is completed for all documents
15. Validate accounting entries are hit properly according to requirement in quality client with FI CTM(Core team member).
After Go live :
1. Missing authorization for users will play key part here,For ex : PGI while doing delivery,Excise capture & post in MIGO/J1IEX.
2. Do internal audit every month,identify transactions if there will possibility for misuse or wrong entries,requires validation,identify users weak in certain areas.
3. Identify there is enhancements to be done in transaction process(By step-2)
4. Prepare a list of month & year end activities to be performed for all modules give to users
5. Prepare a list of frequently used transaction codes module wise give it to users
6. If there is subcontracting,ensure challan creation,GR,reconcillation should be done regulary(monthly)
7. Train the users,take reports in respective modules.
8. Additonal customization might be done in print documents.
9. Instruct users/CTM's to adapt SAP Standard practise
10. Update excise tax rates after every indian budget

Another question:
I used to make my images with changing text-same background
in Image Ready. In Golive I could use the same file from Image
Ready and than just change the text. If I change the Image Ready
file like another background or fontsize all the files linked to
this one changes. Very easy.
Is this possible in Dreamweaver CS3?Well, sure.

I tried making a SWF file from Image Ready, but it ended up being Soooooo heavy!!...22 mo for only 6 photos!??
I looked up some tutorials, but all i found was how to make a quicktime slideshow directly from golive...its ok but I want the slideshow to start automatically, not for the user to have to press play.
ideally, I would like to include about 15-20 different stills.
there is surely a simple way to do this?!!

Just a thought... "the base image must have a name." Have you checked to make sure the base name image is used in the action. The instructions seem a bit vague and don't tell you when/how to use the base name, unless I'm overlooking it. Check that first, then is all else fails...
I'd suggest you use DaverJs SuperSlide show. It does everything you want and
is easy to setup. Your current files and naming structure will work with
this slideshow.

Another user had questions on using SuperSlide and I provided screen caps on
implementing it's use. I use GoLive CS, but CS2 shouldn't be too much

It would be good if you could get the current slideshow to work, but if all
else fails try DaverJ's SuperSlide. I've used it extensively and it works
well. Here is an example page. The slide includes 80 images, so it might
take a few seconds for the images to load in your browser cache before the
slide starts. It's set to autoplay and loop.

Change segment field after golive
we have golive CO-PA for 3 years, attachment is the profit segment, we want to add one more field "sales district" after plant field, how to do?
and if we change profit segment, what is the impact ?

Does "sale district" already a characteristic in you Operating Concern, or do you only want to add this characteristic as an input field during COPA derivation?
If this is already a defined characteristic you can customize the field to be ready for input in KEPA.
If it is a new characteristic you will need to add it first and regenerate your operating concern.

Rollover / slices workflow.. how do you do it sans Image Ready?
My old workflow use image ready to export rollovers, etc.
If I look at a typical nav menu (for my design), I have an area that needs several different types of slices.
1 slice involves the background, with the buttons turned off
2 slice involves the buttons in their off state
3 slice involves the buttons in their on state
It seems I would need to use 3 layers of slices to accomplish this.
My current workflow sucks - I
-slice the background , export
-slice the off state, export
-toggle to my on state, then export (uses the same name as off state) but put it in a /rollover folder.
It is a lot more work that I would like, and a pain if I have to go back and change the background... recreating the slice destroys my button slices.
I am curious to hear about your workflow for this.

That's how you do it. Select the trigger (text or image) and
apply a swap
image behavior. In the behavior pane that opens, select the
image you want
to swap out, and browse to and select the one you want to
replace it. To
swap another image, repeat that process, until you run out of
images. Then
click OK to close the behavior pane.

from the install CD CS2 it was not possible to select and only install GoLive ....

I can't even select under "Install: "Entire Suite" ... grayed out too!
hhmmm ... and uninstall CS3 to install CS2 to reinstall CS3 .... this might be last solution to try (hope you understand)!
to be more precise what is happening when i try to launch GoLive:
everything looks ok ... the app seems to load, also the tool palettes are there and i can go even through the menu (all grayed out though) except this nasty popup window which say:
"An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application. (-8)"
what library? what do i need to install where? any idea? i would be so thankful!!!! -
Hello all...I bought CS2 last year with the intent of adding
web design to my print publishing background. I've been working
with GoLive for several months and find the program inconsistant
and that it operates in a strange manner. I understand that print
and web are two different beasts, but I am having one rotten time
getting to understand GL. It's so frustrating that I'm tempted to
just go to straight code.
I understand Dreamweaver is much different than GL, but
should I be considering DW instead? I am seriously rethinking
whether I should continue with GL or scrap it, spend even more
money and buy something else. Please, any suggesitons would help.

WordmanWe'll see what happens when CS3 comes out. Maybe Adobe throws
a CS3 version of GoLive in the box, and includes a Dreamweaver
version too, with most of the new features being DW only. I still
believe Dreamweaver is a safer bet to put your effort and time
into. I started with GoLive when it was not even Adobe owned.
GoLive was the company name, and CyberStudio was the product name.
It was a Mac-only product, and very, very cool. This was back in
the early to mid 90's. It took until 2001 when a client of mine
needed the check in/check out feature badly. Dreamweaver could do
it builtin, GL could not. So I've used both ever since. I didn't
build one new site in 2006 with GoLive. After using both, I really
do think DW is the way to go. If you can wait a few months for CS3
to come out, then you will get it "free" so to speak.
On a side note, GoLive has always done some weird things to
my sites, to boring to go into here, but Dreamweaver has been very,
very predictable and stable. Adding my own code into the pages is
flawless, finding and installing extensions and extra add-ons has
been much easier, and overall the sites feel more streamlined. How
GL handles tables is much, much easier, but I now find myself using
few tables anymore because of CSS, so I haven't missed those
features too much. One thing I really like is DW creates far less
folders and files for a site structure. A GoLive site might have 3
or 4 folders, and a .site file, and DW has none of that, it's all
contained within the root - Templates and all. Open the index page
of a site, and the whole thing is ready to go.
About why there is a GL at all? Well, Macromedia really was
coming on strong before Adobe gobbled them up. Flash ruled,
Dreamweaver ruled, and Adobe's versions of Flash and DW just did
not rule. It was obvious to me why they bought DW, as mentioned
above, it's to get Flash. If anyone truly believes GoLive has a
future beyond CS3, I think they will be saddened. Adobe needs 2 web
programs like it needs 2 photoshops. One of them is history, and to
me, it's going to be GoLive. I hope deep down that they come up
with a new version of DW that incorporates some of the workflow of
GL and create one final program that I can sink my teeth
into. -
Im a bit confused...I have this code for a banner Id like to post on our site, and when in my index file (source view), i placed the code down at the bottom, right before and above. The banner shows up, but in the left hand corner of the page. I tried entering different "position" coding, nothing seemed to move this banner....
So, how do i tell a banner, or even a badge, exactly where i want it on the site?? I did my site in Image Ready, so most of it is made up of slices and image maps..

Input ready query is not showing loaded data in the cube
Dear Experts,
In Input ready query we have problem that it is not showing the values which was not entered by throught hat query. Is any settings in input ready query that we can do to populate the loaded data on the cube as well as data entered through Input ready query itself.

input ready queries always should display most recent data (i.e. all green and the yellow request). So you can check the status of the requests in the real-time InfoCube. There should exist only green requests and maybe at most one yellow request.
In addition you can try to delete the OLAP cache for the plan buffer query: Use RSRCACHE to do this. The technical names of the plan buffer query can be found as follows:
1. InfoCube\!!1InfoCube, e.g. ZTSC0T003/!!1ZTSC0T003 if ZTSC0T003 is the technical name of the InfoCube
2. MPRO\!!1MPRO, e.g. ZTSC0M002/!!1ZTSC0M002 if ZTSC0M002 is the technical name of the multiprovider
If the input ready query is defined on an aggregation level using a real-time InfoCube, the first case is relevant; if the aggregation level is defined on a multiprovider the second case is relevant. If the input-ready query is defined on a multiprovider containing aggregation levels again the first case is relevant (find the real-time InfoCubes used in the aggregation level).

Can not change data in Input Ready Query
All,
I have created an input ready query on an aggreagation level which has one transactional cube underlying it however, after run the query I am unable to change data in the cells even though I get a warning message saying query is ready for input
Note:
1. The underlying realtime cube is in "Planning Mode:Loading not allowed" state in rsa1
2. I tried including all characteristics so that the record can be uniquely identified at that aggregation level).
3. I am not using any characteristic restrictions
4. I have not set any data slices
5. I have set the property for Planning "Start query in Change Mode"
6. I have set the 'Key Figure' Planning Properties to "Can be changed Manually or via Planning Functions" for the key figures
7. I do not have currency/unit in row/column.
8. There are any locks occurring
Any pointers welcome.

Was wondering how was your problem solved. I get the same message when I run the query in web from query designer and in bex analyzer the cells are not updated with the changes that I make.
I am hitting my head against the wall to figure what could be the problem as my plan query is simply based on aggregation level created directlty upon the real time info cube.
Have cross checked all the points that you mentioned in this post but I cells do not change.
There should be some way around to solve this problem.

Had my humax dt1000 about 10 months and now it just refuses to get past the nearly ready screen, have tried all the maintenance things from software update to full factory reset but says the latter cannot be performed, the last time I got past nearly ready there were no channels did the scan and stuck at 99%.is the box (hdd) broken ?
