GoLive Migration Kit

『Adobe GoLive

  • Migration Kit

    Hello friends!
From where do I get the two folders,
    1) com.sap.j2ee.migration.kit_1.0.X (which MUST contain a plugin.xml)
    - the plugin logic
    2) com.sap.j2ee.migration.kit.websphere_1.0.X
    - WebSphere specific part of the plugin
I don't need the second folder, but a JBoss specific part of the plugin.
Please tell me from where I can get these folders and also tell me what to do with these folders and how to use the migration kit to migrate from JBoss-4.2.0 to WAS-6.4. I need to deploy an existing .ear file in to WAS6.4 which was previously deployed in JBoss-4.2.0.
Please help me with the procedure.
    ThankYou.

  • J2EE Migration Kit available!!!

As all of you experienced SDN forum guys may already have heard it through the grape vine, SAP announced the publishing of the so-called J2EE Migration Kit. This collection of documentation, methodology and best practices will support you when migrating J2EE applications to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server.
Well, here it is … just in time before you start enjoying your well deserved Christmas holidays. Feel free to deliver any input in this matter. This is the appropriate forum to do so! You J2EE developers: post your questions to the forum and thereby benefit from the J2EE expertise in the forum!
You J2EE masters: post the gained experiences with the Migration Kit to the forum and thereby share this knowledge with your community!
Have fun … and watch for those post-its of yours

    Hi Bjoern,
currently the J2EE Migration Kit is not completely available for public download. As you may have noticed, instead of the J2EE Migration Kit contact page proposes to contact your local SAP sales representative or to write an e-mail:
<i>If you want to do a migration please contact your local SAP sales representative to discuss next steps. If you want to do a migration and you do not yet have a SAP sales representative as your normal contact to SAP, please send an e-mail to [email protected] A local SAP sales representative will contact you in the next couple of working days.</i>
We can shorten this procedure and contact you

  • Does theJ2EE migration kit support migrating from Oracle9 iAS?

    Hi,
We currently have an application based on Oracle9 iAS.
    1) Does the J2EE migration kit support migrating from Oracle J2EE to SAP J2EE?
    2) If the answer is NO and since the documentation doesn't mention Oracle, I am wondering if SAP is planning on including support for migrating from Oracle too?
    Regards,
    Tobi

    Hello Anirban,
what kind of projects are you trying to migrate to NWDS?
The Migration Kit (Plug-In) in its surrent version supports migration of projects from IBM, JBoss, BEA to SAP - on the same Java EE technology stack level! If you want to migrate SAP 6.40 (J2EE 1.3) projects to SAP CE (Java EE 5), there is a support in the SAP NWDS to do that. You can start importing your "old" projects by saying "migrate projects" in the import statement of the IDE.
    Try it out!
In case you should encouner difficulties, shoot me a mail!
    Cheers, Goran

  • Message: please select folder that contains your Adobe GoLive files

Hi, I'm really new to DW 5, I did use DW when it first came out and started to get the hang of some things, but my learning was not going as fast as I needed it to go. So I have two questions, I have searched the forums for my answers but I'm getting them in bits and peices and have also found the same question I'm about to ask, but didn't see an answer.
Anyways, first; I'm using OS X (updated to 10.6.5) I was using "GoLive" but in the middle of updating the site, GL would crash, it wasn't from anything inperticular, it would just crash, it was always around 4-5 minutes of using it. So I started using "GoLive CS" it had been working great until today, GL CS is now starting to crash on me, doesn't matter what I'm doing, it's just a time thing.
Is there anything to fix this bug?
I think I might know why, and I could be wrong.......... that this is a compatable issue, but I'm not sure. I think because they are not providing anymore updates for GoLive (any version) that pretty soon I might not even be able to use it at all, but if I'm wrong, Please help.
Now if my thoughts are correct on the first question, then can some one please help me with this message I get when trying to "Migrate" my site from Golive to Dreamweaver.
My first question tonight was going to be why do my pages look like there is nothing on the when I open any page in Dreamweaver when I saw the post about migrating your site to Dreamweaver.
I downloaded the extension for Dreamweaver, I installed it but when I go to migrate the "site" it gives me this message.
Message: please select folder that contains your Adobe GoLive files
I came back to the forums to reread the post, but what it says to change in yoour files, I can't find. It says something about changing your "root" file.
I can't find what to change.
I kind of like GoLive better, at least right now, but I tryed to use DW tonight to really compair the two, I got CS5 about 5 months ago which included Dreamweaver CS5, so I thought I would give it a try utill I opened it and all of my pages were blank. But I still didn't give up and now this is where I am.
Thanks for any help, sorry for such a long posting, but I would really like to see if I like DW with out starting all over and having to rebuild my sites from scratch in DW.

My sites were created in GoLive (i think version 6), but it started to crash, so I switched to GoLive CS (i think this is version 7).
It was working fine until yesterday. Yesterday GoLive CS started to crash, so I decided to give DreamWeaver a try since it came with the version of CS5 that I bought about 4-5 months ago.
Yes, I downloaded and installed the extention from the link, the one that talks about Dreamweaver CS4, and I also read this on that page (below is what I copied from the page)
    ========================================================================================== ===
Note also: If you created your site with GoLive CS (7)  or older and then upgraded to GoLive CS2 (8) or GoLive 9, you may  experience problems with the GoLive Migration Kit extension for  Dreamweaver CS4. If this is the case, try renaming the following:
    Rootfolder-fd > web-content
    Rootfolder-fd.settings > web-settings
    Rootfolder-fd.data > web-data
    ========================================================================================== ===
    I looked for "Rootfolder-fd -fd.setting and fd.data" I can't find them.
I was going to try and change them.

  • GoLive CS to CS5?

    One Adobe page says:
"The GoLive Migration Kit extension helps you convert your GoLive CS2 and GoLive 9 sites to Dreamweaver CS5 sites."
But when you go to the GoLive Migration Kit page, it says "Note: The GoLive Migration Kit extension is only compatible with Dreamweaver CS4."  I think it may just be that the page needs updating...?
I have old GoLive sites, and I now have DW CS5.  Can I use this kit?
    Thanks for any input.
    Dean

No solution I've found, certainly not from Adobe. I'm keeping my Golive sites in place, since most everything works fine. Notice that Flash objects in a page now crash the program, but that's only in preview mode.
I am doing new sites and checking some page code of my old sites in DW (particularly the Flash).
I can update my old sites in GL in a fraction of the time it takes to do  the same in DW, so there's no good reason to move them. I only wish DW had such good site management and user interface. Most of my web design friends with older sites are also doing the same
I did pull this from another thread, it's probably the best way to handle a migration since Adobe has apparently dropped transition support for CS5:
    1. Start with an original copy of the GoLive site
    2. Create a new site in Dreamweaver (Go to Manage Sites and click New, then choose Site from the dropdown menu)
    3. In the Advanced tab, give the site a name, then under Local Root Folder click on the folder and navigate to the GoLive site.
    4. Choose the folder titled Web-Content, and click the Choose Button.
    5. Next do the same thing under Default Images Folder, and choose the "images" folder within your site.
    6. I leave Links Relative to Document checked, and for the time being I leave HTTP address alone.
    7. I check Use Case-Sensitive Link Checking and also check Cache.
    8. Click OK
    9. From here I quit DW to prevent conflicts, and open the GoLive site file. If I choose to not manage my site in GoLive or intend to turn the site over to someone else to manage in DW, I create a new temporary HTML page for each component's contents. You might create a special folder for these and mark it so that you will know it's only temporary. Once you've copied all your Components into individual HTML files, you will need to delete all the Components in your site and rebuild these under Dreamweaver's Library Items... unless you are savvy with and choose to use .php or .ssi's
    Hope this helps!

  • GoLive to DWCS5?

The obvious question, but still unasked:
Since the GoLive Migration Kit is (as of the date of this post) only compatible with CS4, how do we migrate GoLive sites to Dreamweaver CS5?

Do you have DWCS4? In that case it would probably be a 2 step thing. FIrst to DWCS4 to get it migrated, then open that in CS5.
If not .... I would also like to know.
According to the release notes for DWCS5 it should work.
See more info here http://www.adobe.com/devnet-archive/dreamweaver/golive_migration/content/using_gmk_extensi on.html
There is a link for the download of the migration kit at the top of that article. Download that and let the extensions manager install it into DWCS5.
    Follow the instructions.

  • Componenti

    ENGLISH (perhaps):
Good Morning I'd like to know if there's a way to find out methods and functions of an old flash components (MXP format) if I haven't the documentations.
Exist a way to extract functions inside the components and watch and their behaviour (of course I'm able to read the code). The problem is how can I obtain this code!
    Any help would be appreciated.
    ITALIANO:
    Ogni aiuto sara' gradito.

    Grazie.

  • Golive 6.0 to Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4

About a year ago I called customer service and asked if I upgraded Golive 6.0 to CS3 the migration kit would work, I actually still have the chat record with customer service where I specifically asked them if I could migrate. I was told yes so my company purchased Dreamweaver CS3. Of course when I tried the gl2dw migration, it didn't work and I opened a support ticket and went back and forth with support for weeks trying resolve the issue. I asked for a trial of golive 9 or cs2 so I could upgrade and they sent me invalid links. Finally after a few weeks I was just basically told too bad we can't help you, offered me a refund if I hadn't installed the software which of course I had. So I have had cs3 for over a year and haven't ever used it. Now I see CS4 is out and it says that you can migrate from golive 6.0. Is that really true? Have they ever fixed it so you can upgrade 6.0 to CS3? I can't even get the upgrade version for CS4 because I used my upgrade on CS3. I have a company website with over 500 web pages I need to convert. I really need to upgrade to DW and soon. My company buys thousands of dollars of software and licenses from adobe every year, we are a non profit agency and I can't keep spending money on things that don't work! This is extremely frustrating. HELP!

Making changes site wide can be accomplished 2 ways but in reality unless you are using a dynamic site that draws its page designs from a  central template page.
In retrospect you may want to consider creating a Library item first for anything you may want to change site wide (The first way). Being that you are not there yet you will probably want to use the Edit > Find and Replace from the menu bar (The second way).
Simply open up the file you have changed and another you have not. Next (assuming the option is not right in front of you) on the menu bar: View > Code and Design, making sure you can see both code and Design in both files. Then from the menu bar: Edit > Find and Replace. Copy the code regarding the object that you want to change making sure that you copy any opening and closing tags if appropriate from the unchanged file then paste in into the FIND box. Do the same with the file that you have changed except you will paste that into the REPLACE box also making sure that you have copied the same area.
Make sure Find and Replace Settings are:
Find in: Entire current local site
      Search: Source code
Then press the Replace All button.

  • Upgrade turned goLive to Dreamweaver!

I don't know how to use Dreamweaver. I figured out how to mark SOLD on two of my products, but have no idea at all how I open the site connection and upload my changes. Anyone? It's really not obvious to me. Nor could I find where I can select the font. I'm sure there'll be a lot more questions, but I need to upload the sold items before someone tries to purchase them.

sorry about the subject line. we had CS2, got a new mac with intel processor so couldn't run GoLive at all. we bought the CS5 upgrade presumably to give us access and were surprised Adobe switched to Dreamweaver, which we will now have to learn. I found the migration kit, but it still is not allowing me access after install (message: please select folder that contains your Adobe GoLive files," which is what I have done, so it seems not to recognize them?). I have my old computer for the time being and will use that to go to my retail site and remove recently sold items. GoLive does not run on the new computer at all.
When you are an online retailer, sudden switches in your web design/management tools are not such a good thing. It seems like I can learn the interface ok, but time is something i have very little of. Just want access. Any help is appreciated.
    thanks -diane

  • Possible migration(Heterogeneous system copy) combination

    Dear all
Currently we're planning to do Heterogeneous system copy
from the following source(current system) and target.
    Source : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 8.1.7 on AIX 4.3.3
    Target : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 10.2 on Windows 2003
For the target system, i checked the PAM in Service Marketplace
and it seems that R/3 4.6C + Oracle 10.2 on Windows 2003 is supported.
But i'm not sure whether this source - target combination is possible
    in Heterogeneous system copy.
To summarize, here are 2 questions.
    1) Where can i find Heterogeneous system copy combination?
(OS/DB combination which supports Heterogeneous system copy in R/3 4.6C)
    2) Is the above Source - Target combination is possible?
    Best Regards.
    Ahn

    > Source : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 8.1.7 on AIX 4.3.3
    > Target : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 10.2 on Windows 2003
Yes - this is possible and supported. But keep in mind:
    - you must have a certified migration consultant doing the migration. If you do it on your own, you'll loose support for problems during the migration and for the target system --> SAP will bill help (see http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ)
    - 4.6c is out of general support; you may need to buy extended support to get the migration kit
