Good battery life

my iphone battery when fully charged last 1 full day and 3/4 of new day with avg usage (some phone calls, alot of txt, internet usage and video watching. I have 3G on, but i got push off, GPS off, BT off and wifi off. is this consider good, avg, or bad battery usage ?

Hi purplehaz20,
I don't think there's a problem with your iPhone. I would consider it between good and average battery usage.
You have to consider that 3G uses a lot of battery, and as you told you use it also to watch videos and text a lot, then I think it's pretty good to handle almost 2 days long!
Best Regards!

  • Getting good battery life

Hey guys, so I have a new macbook pro 15 inch, and I am wondering if I should do somethign first to it maybe the calibaration to get good batter life? I just charged it all night, and I am in class, and just doing webbrowsing, it is saying that I only have 3 hours left? Not sure why, but that number should be higher right? the brightness is on low and everything.

The time Apple quotes for use on battery power requires that Airport, bluetooth are turned off, no externals are connected, no cd in the drive, etc. As soon as you use these or headphones, mouse, etc your available time will be lessened considerably. Tasks that you have it doing can also affect performance, especially any that involve much reference to the internal drive or heavy processing.
Calibration is primarily to have more accurate stats. It sets the original actual capacity of the battery and enables calculations & comparisons to be more accurate. I'm not sure that it actually improves the life of the battery, rather it enables a more accurate estimate of condition & performance to be given.

  • Is this good battery life for an iPhone 4?

I have two iPhone 4's.  (That's iPhone 4, not 4s!  )   I was wondering how well their battery life was holding up.
Over several days of use, I found the following.  (These are different usage patterns, after a full charge of the battery.)
    iPhone 4 #1
After 8 hours, the battery was at 34%.
         Another time, after 5 1/2 hours, 56%.
         Yet another, after 10 1/2 hours, 14%.
    IPhone 4 #2
After 7 hours, the battery was at 45%.
Another time after a full charge, usage was 5 hours and battery 55%.
I used both phones similarly in the 5 usage periods.
Would this be the best way to determine which iPhone's battery is in better shape?  (They seem similar.)
Or, is there an app that would provide the equivalent of what the Mac's System Profiler does--telling mAH remaining on the battery and a verbal adjective describing the battery's condition?

    Is this normal?
I just charged my phone to a full 100%.
    Now it is at 96%.
    With usage: 13minutes.
    And standby: 33 minutes.
The battery drains about 1% for every 4 minutes of use, so that seems normal. But it's too small a sample to be meaningful. You need to go through several discharge cycles and record the results to determine if you are within spec. Alternatively, stop being obsessive about battery life and just enjoy the phone.

  • Battery life good or bad, confused

is this good battery life or not? .... my friends tell me its bad
ive been using my phone for 2 hours and 24 min and its at 64%
with 4 hours and 7 min of standby
is this good or bad or is it normal usage?

Well that seems fine then because phone calls do drain the battery faster, along with streaming media off youtube. I think your friends are wrong

  • Battery life is reduced

Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum and I hope you can help. I have a Curve 8900 which I have had for around 18 months with good battery life. About 8 weeks ago it started to fade quickly and not last long at all. I thought the battery had run its course so purchased a new genuine battery, fully charged and discharged at least 10 times and is no better than the one it replaced. It even runs flat from full when switched off for a couple of days.
My network provider is orange although it was BT but the problem started before this.
I also get email on the phone.
I hope this is enough info.
    Thanks for your help.

Discharging the battery continuously is not recommended for these Lithium Ion type batteries.

  • IPod Touch and Battery Life

Hello guys, just question for you.
I think that soon I'll go get myself a new iPod and still can not decide between the iPod touch 64 gigs and the Classic.
I am looking for a device where I can store all my music and has a good battery life. Now the Classic would be great as I would not need to upgrade for a few years ... the only worry is that it's a bit too fragile, due to the presence of an hard drive and not flash memory.
On the other side I wonder if the iPod touch would resist for a week without charging it....I'm the kind of user who often flickrs tru the list looking for other songs etc and also most of my songs have been ripped at 320kbs so that means the player has to fish into the memory more often
    Any advice? Thanx in advance

    Hi Antonio,
I've had a classic (original 160gb) for a few years now. It's taken a few knocks over time... nothing hardcore/abusive, but still works fine.
Apple say that you get 36hours of music from a classic and 30hours from a touch
I listen to my classic on my way to/from work, and a few hours of the day at work. I can get a whole week out of one charge easy.
I recently bought a touch with some gift vouchers from a work bonus. The usability of a touch is far superior to a classic. Movies, games, apps, wi-fi are all amazingly good, but drain your battery. A charge usually lasts 2-3 days, but I do use my work wi-fi to check facebook & eBay sometimes (banned on work computers)
I'd say touch trumps the classic, but if your music is all 320k, your going to fill 64gb fast!!! One thing to bear in mind is it's almost new Apple time. With the advent of iPhone OS4, there are many rumours and speculations, all of which are totally unfounded, but it is widely assumed that June/July will yield a new iphone, and possibly a new touch. There is no way to know for sure what the specs will be, but the new touch may come in greater sizes than 64gb

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 battery life

I'm planning to buy one soon, how does battery life last when you guys are browsing over your cellular network(3G/4G)?

For me Excellent. I can use the phone nearly 2 days, and 1 day with heavy use (gaming, music, video, office). Really good battery life.

  • Macbook pro late 2013 poor battery life

I bought my 2.3 Ghz 16 Ram Late 2013 Retina Macbook pro about a week ag, i’ve been using the computer normally, web browsing watching movies... and I never get more than 3 and a half hours of battery life from it.
Is there a problem with a series of the computers?
should i bring it to the apple store to see if something is wrong?
I was expecting good battery life maybe not the 8h told by Apple but at least 5 or 6!
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • T500 Battery Life post Windows 7 Upgrade

Have a 6 month old T500 which I love.  Always had good battery life (can't remember the duration, but never had an issue with battery life).
Earlier this week, I did the Windows 7 Upgrade (machine originally came with Windows Vista OS).  After doing the upgrade, I've noticed a substantial decrease in battery life (now lasts for about 2 hours max).
Have reinstalled ThinkVantage Power Manager and Toolbox applications, but that hasn't helped.  Also did power meter reset, but that doesn't seemed to have helped.
Has anyone else experienced this?  Any suggestions out there?

  • N95 vs N93i vs N80i for battery life

Hi, I am buying a new phone and I really like the N80i [N80 Internet Edition] but I hear that it doesn't have very good battery life (less than 1 day). So I am also looking at the N93i and the N95. I know that they provide more features too over the N80i but I'm not so interested in those, I just want to know about the battery life. How do these three compare for battery life? (I know that the N93 standard edition seems to have better battery life than the N93i, but I can't seem to find anywhere to buy this one in my country).

    Hi,
If you're not after with the features....why don't get Series 40 phones like 6233, 6280 and 6288? Which has a good battery life and much responsive compared to symbian phones.
We've tested the N6233..and it manage to hold its charge for almost 3 days with heavy usage.
Ouch! Only series 40 phones are symbian? S60 series phones(like the N series) are not, are you misqouted?

  • Question about battery life

    Hi everyone,
I got my refurbished MBP 13" mid 2010 model two Friday's ago (July 16) from the Apple online store and I have some questions about the battery life....
Immediately after I got it, I followed all the battery calibration instructions from apple.com/batteries (and did it again after it because I was unsure if I did it properly). While it was charging, I was installing some recommended applications, one being coconutBattery. In the additional information section, it said that my MBP was 7 weeks old, has gone threw 10 battery load cycles, and had a original battery capacity of 97%. I am now at 17 loadcycles, with 94% original battery capacity.
Now to how much time I get with the battery... I have done some testing of my own, such as watching some movies (Tron and Star Trek First Contact, I'm a geek :D), basic web browsing (5 tabs open, reading blogs, watching a couple of 3 minute youtube videos) and listening to an audio book (iWoz) with a tab or two open. The best battery life I have gotten (basic web browsing) was 5 1/2 hours, with 60% LCD brightness, keyboard backlight off, and bluetooth off, with just Chrome and coconutBattery open.
Is this the average battery life for everyone else? I bought this because of its supposedly good battery life, and though I am very happy with my purchase, I just want to make sure that I have a fully working MBP.
    Some other notes:
The battery meter next to the clock sometimes says that 98% is fully charged (I think it is just a glitch)
The estimated battery life is between 9-11 hours when brightness is at 30%-40%, airport and bluetooth is off, and keyboard backlight is off when I am doing text editing.
    Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Forgot to say I have the 2.4ghz 250gb model.

    Current Battery Capacity:5490 mAh
    Original Battery Capacity:5770 mAh
    Battery-Loadcycles: 17
Age of your Mac: 2 months (I have had it 2 weeks)
    Charger is connected: Yes
    Battery is charging: No

  • Tips to Extend BlackBerry Battery Life

Just scanning this board, I noticed a few inquiries about BlackBerry battery life.  Namely, a thread on Pearl battery life and Curve power issues.
So I thought I'd post a link to five tips to extend your BlackBerry battery life.
There are some basics like shutting off your device at night or when you know you won't need it, and some more advanced suggestions like optimizing all your phone and message notifications and your third-party application alerts.
    Check it out.

Hey, hope everyone can read this,... For some reason I seem to be unable to post a normal response.
One thing that is apparent with the battery of the 9700 is that the battery actually gets extremely warm on occasions when charging. Originally I thought that it was just when I charged via USB cable but I have since discovered that it is random (could be either wall charging or USB charging). When the battery gets too hot it doesn't retain the same sort of battery as otherwise (i.e. it lasts anywhere less than 7 hours before needing a charge). Other times it seems to last 3-4 days using multiple applications.
Additionally, I was all old fashioned when I got my 9700 (beginning of 2010) and so I decided to charge my battery to full. This hasn't made any difference to me... Occasionally I have good battery life and something I have really really really really really bad battery life (the one time I charged my battery full before I went to sleep, I was woken up with my phone turning off due to lack of battery and nothing was running in the background... This was due to the heat generated from the charging). Nothing to do with the initial charge... That was, as someone said, a 1999 retarded and stupid phenomenon. We have subsequently had advances in technology (yes, believe it or not but a lot changes in 11 years) and as such battery 'memory' no longer exists in the same sense as it did before.
Bottom line, if you didn't discharge your battery completely and then completely recharge it again it won't make a difference. It would have many many many many years ago and some people will still say it is the case. Listen to them if you would like to be sure but the only difference is the time it will take before you can use your device.

  • Poor battery life following upgrade of OS to 10.2.1.2102 on my Q10

I recently made the fatal mistake of upgrading my operating system to V 10.2.1.2102 on my Blackberry Q10. Since then my battery life is terrible, it used to last a couple of days but now its only lasting around 4-6 hours and if I do not leave on charge overnight it goes dead!
I need my phone to run my business and I have tried all the rebooting, pulling out the battery and changing some of the settings but even in power save mode the battery is constantely draining. I have analysed the application usage statistics for the last 48 hours and it appears the system usage is 90%.
I really would welcome some advise as to how I can restore good battery life back to my Q10.
    Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
As the BB10 OS has evolved, battery consumption has continued to fluctuate all over the place. Based on what you describe, I think that perhaps you have installed one of those versions that has such an issue, and the remedy is to move to an OS level that does not have that problem. You can use LINK to install other OS levels that your carrier supports, or you can use Sachesi or AutoLoader to use OS levels not yet supported by your carrier.
Good luck and let us know!
