Good examples of captivate built learning around the web

Hi everybody,
has anyone seen any really good examples of captivate produced software simultations in the public domain...as a new captivate developer I'd really appreciate seeing some others work to compare and help me realise the possibilities of the software.
thanks in advance, i'm off to go looking for some myself and will re-post with anything interesting that i find!!

Here's some good examples:

    Around the web where are there pictures of how you insert a disc?... into a 27 inch iMac 3.2GHz Intel Core i3

    I can see this happening sometimes. Especially if someone is mainly used to working with power macs; most of which have a dvd tray/s as opposed to slot loading mac computers.
    @ Bengt Wärleby .... good point regarding the use of mini dvd's most of which can easily be used with modern burners and dvd-rom drives that use a tray.
    Slot loading macs work well with a full size / standard dvd or CD only.

  • How to stop "FROM AROUND THE WEB" and "You May Like" from coming up on each page that I browse

    It is very frustrating when I am on Mozilla looking at various websites and on each page that I go to either "FROM AROUND THE WEB" or "You May Like" come up in the middle of the page with links to other websites that I am not interested in viewing.
    Also when I am shopping on the internet another pop up called Deals, brought by iWebar keeps popping up and also "Deals" by Deal Finder. I did not change any of my settings, I only updated Mozilla Firefox and then all of these things started happening. This is very frustrating and I want to know how to turn this off. I did not sign up for any of these things, and want to be advised on how to remove them.
    Could you please advise how to stop these as I really do not want these options as I am browsing and I will go back to Internet Explorer if this continues to happen. I look forward to hearing from you promptly. Thank you

    Hi Kerri,
    You should always pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs, such as this adware. Be very careful what you agree to install.<br>
    Adware gets on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this browser hijacker.
    You can use the below steps to revert back to adware-less Firefox.
    1) <u>Reset Prefs</u>
    *Navigate to '''about:config''' in your Address Bar
    *Press the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to proceed
    *Search for <b>iWebar</b> and reset all prefs that pull up by right clicking > Reset
    2) Remove any programs that you don't recognize or remember installing from your Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program)
    3) Remove any extensions that you don't recognize or remember installing from Firefox.
    *(Press the menu button ([[Image:new fx menu]] > Add-ons > Extensions)
    4) Download ADW Cleaner to wipe out any remnants of the adware.

    Does anyone recommend a good graphic utility to prepare files for the web?

    GraphicConverter as noted by Don, or Photoshop Elements are the favourites. Both will allow comprehensive editing, and save for web facilities including reducing the .jpg quality to shrink file size without making the picture smaller.
    There is a free application calld Gimp (open source) but I don't know how good it is or whether it's updated for Lion.

    How can I stop those annoying little ad's that pop up as I move my cursor around the web page, seems like anything that is highlighted in green will trigger it? Seems it just started happening with the new version of Firefox.

    hello hamguy, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • Any good examples of content built for the iphone?

    Hi Guys
    Just testing and re-designing our content for the iPad on the iPhone. Colin fleming has advised designing a consistent area in your layout for page swipe and navigation and designing interactivity only in the upper area of the page. Just wanted to see some examples of this?

    Hi all,
    I'm confusing about the example in Chapter 25 Persistence in the Web Tier.
    the book store example creates the bookdbao in contextlistener

  • The Web Agent for IIS will not work

    Environment: NT4 Server, IIS4
    I try to install the Web Agent in use with IIS but IIS fails to load the dll. After the installation I can read the event-log :
    The HTTP server was unable to load the ISAPI Application 'C:\Oracle\Ora81\ord\web\bin\wsciis81.dll'. The data is the error.
    And the Browser gives me:
    A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
    What can be wrong?

    Note: On Windows NT, use \ instead of / to separate file system directory
    paths.
    1. Check the Web Agent's log file.
    Look in <oracle_home>/ord/web/logs for a log file in the form
    wsc_<yyyymmdd>_<pid>.log. If the file exists, review it for errors,
    then take the necessary action to remedy the problem. Possible
    problems that might be logged are non-recoverable errors in the Web
    Agent's configuration file <oracle_home>/ord/web/admin/wsc.cfg. If the
    configuration file or the <oracle_home>/ord/web directory hierarchy
    doesn't exist, then re-do the installation.
    2. Check the Web Agent's "last-chance" error log file.
    If the <oracle_home>/ord/web/logs directory exists, but there are no
    log files, check in the %SystemRoot% directory on Windows NT or the
    /tmp directory on Unix for a file named wsclstch.err. This is the Web
    Agent's "last-chance" error log file. The Web Agent will try to write
    to this file if it encounters a fundamental startup error, such as a
    problem initializing CORE or NLS, creating a log file, or opening its
    message file. If the file exists, review it for errors, then take the
    necessary action to remedy the problem. (In a command window on
    Windows NT, type set SystemRoot to find where the wsclstch.err file
    would be written.)
    3. Check the web server configuration.
    If the Web Agent failed to create either its normal log file or its
    "last-chance" error log file, verify that the Web Agent has been
    configured correctly for the particular web server being used and that
    the web server is running.
    o Microsoft IIS
    Use the Internet Service Manager to verify that IIS has been
    configured correctly for the Web Agent. Review the installation
    and configuration instructions in the wsciis.html or wsciis.txt
    files to verify that the Web Agent has been configured correctly
    and to make any changes or fixes necessary. Check that the filter
    is up and running and that the virtual path has been configured.
    To check the filter, select the web site, then click the
    properties button (or right-click the web site icon). Select the
    Filters tab. The Web Agent should appear in the list with a green
    up-arrow. If it appears with a red down-arrow, check the Windows
    NT event log for any errors relating to the Web Agent. IIS
    doesn't always write detailed error messages. For example, if a
    DLL used by the Web Agent can't be located, then IIS typically
    logs the fact that a load error occurred along with the message
    "the data was the error". Note that the installation and
    configuration instructions describe the case where the filter
    must be installed manually if there were no existing filters
    registered at the time the Web Agent for IIS was installed.
    If the filter looks OK, check the oracle_intermedia_bin virtual
    path by clicking the properties button (or right-click the
    virtual path icon). The path should reference the
    <oracle-home>\ord\web\bin directory, which should contain the
    wsciis81.dll file. In the properties window, select the directory
    security tab, then click the anonymous access and authentication
    control button. Verify that Basic authentication has been checked
    and that Windows NT challenge/response has been cleared.
    To function correctly, the Oracle8i home must be specified
    correctly for IIS. Use the Oracle Home Selector to verify that
    the Oracle8i home is specified as the default home. Use the
    System Control Panel to verify that the Oracle8i home /bin
    directory is specified prior to any other Oracle homes in the
    PATH environment variable.

  • [Newbie] Where are good example beans to learn from?

    I have been a professional software developer for 30 years (yes, I
    started using card punches and paper tape...), and have developed 3
    commercial Java/Swing desktop apps in the past 4 years. However, all my
    experience has been desktop apps. I'm now trying to teach myself JSP
    (starting to get a handle on that) and EJB (just starting literally
    today).
    Oh yes, doing this on my own nickel at home, so I can't afford Weblogic
    yet... I have JBoss/Cataline and MySQL running on my home Mac OSX
    system.
    What are some good sites where I can find good example bean code to
    read/modify/learn from?
    I am particularly interested at this point in database access beans.
    Something I could use as a template to develop a Customer, Invoice,
    Product bean (for an app I am writing to teach myself all this stuff).
    PS: If you know someone that needs a good C/C++/Java-Swing programmer,

    Hi Burt.
    BEA WLS does have some good EJB examples you might be interested.
    After you install WebLogic Server or Platform 7.0, you will find a directories
    in <weblogic700>\samples\server\src\examples, ejb11 and ejb20 ( The naming convention
    basically means EJB examples compliant with EJB Spec 1.1 or 2.0 ).
    In particular for EJBs intensively doing Database work, you probably want to go
    through container managed and bean managed EJB examples in each of ejb11 and ejb20
    directories correspondingly. In each of the examples, there is a package-summary.html
    page provides you the example details.
    Hopefully, above helps.
    Thanks.

  • Are there any good code examples for displaying preview images in the storefront?

    I can gather other info using folio.xxx, but can not find any good examples to use for preview images.  Tried folio.getPreviewImage() with no success.  Oh, I should mention it is version 2.  Plenty of examples for version 1.
    Perhaps if I get a little more specific.
    I am calling up the folios via:
           adobeDPS.libraryService.folioMap.addedSignal.add(function(folios) {
                for (var i = 0; i < folios.length; i++) {
                    addFolio(folios[i]);
            }, this);
    This eventually works into a function where I am gathering and displaying folio data:
         var productId = folio.productId;
        var html  = "<div id='" + productId + "'>";
            html +=     "<a href='#'><img class='shadow' width='120' src='' border=0 /></a>";
            html +=     "<br /><span class='bold'>" + folio.title + "</span>";
            html += "</div>";
        this.$el = $(html);
    folio.title works fine to pull up the title, but I can no longer use folio.getPreviewURL in v2.  What code should I be using to set the src to the preview image?
    Thanks

    Have you looked at the default implementations of the library?
    In FolioItemView's render function, there is a function(follow the nested functions!):
    setTimeout(function(){ scope.loadPreviewImage() }, 100);
    It references this function (this doesn't copy well):
    loadPreviewImage: function() {
    if (this.el.parentElement) {
    var transaction = this.folio.getPreviewImage(135, 180, true);
    transaction.completedSignal.addOnce(this.getPreviewImageHandler, this);
    Going deeper, into the getPreviewImageHandler function is where you see the url value..
    if (transaction.state == adobeDPS.transactionManager.transactionStates.FINISHED && transaction.previewImageURL != null) {
                                  this.$el.find(".folio-thumb").attr("src", transaction.previewImageURL);
    Within the example is also code for supplying a preview when the Adobe API is not available:
    (Within the render function)
    var json = this.model.toJSON();
    $folioThumb.attr("src", json.libraryPreviewUrl);
    If you're making any changes to where the preview is displayed, you can just swap out the class ".folio-thumb" to whatever the class (or id) is of the element you're wanting to render the preview in.

  • When I create some 3D objects in Photoshop CS6 (a good example would be one of a dinner-plate), artefacts always show on the surface of the plate.

    Hello! The title of this message says it all, really (When I typed the above, I thought that I was typing the actual message, since I had been invited to ask a question). So, can anyone please help with this problem. The plates look as if they have wedges of the spread-type cheeses that can be bought in a circular pack, only they are bigger than those would be on a plate, and black.
    With thanks in anticipation,
    True To Form

    I started with 3D in my teens (Amiga Sculpt/Animate 4D 1987) - from a personal perspective I "grew up" with 3d applications.
    I have taught Blender (and other 3d application) classes, though, and like any other software it depends a bit on the person. If you have never used a 3d application before, then Blender is relatively easy to pick up. The basic tutorials on Blender Cookie (and many other sites) are easy to follow. Learning 3D is fun, and can also be intimidating at times, because there is so much to learn in terms of scope.
    My advice is to pick your battles: the above image is not that hard to recreate in Blender (together with that tutorial) once you understood the basic GUI and handling of Blender.
    The funny thing is that when 3D was introduced in Photoshop, I kept thinking and wondering why the developers made it so unintuitive and hard to use. It is quite slow and cumbersome - compared to Cinema 4D, Blender, Max, Lightwave, and so on, Photoshop's 3d always kills me. I just do not want to deal with it - and the quality is well below par compared with the current state of rendering technology. I am not saying it is useless (far from it), just that once you become aware of what is out there, and are dazzled by what even free software such as Blender can pull off, it sort-of becomes a "frog leaves the well" paradigm shift.
    Point in case: the above image is completely CG and done in Blender. And if you have a decent Nvidia GPU you can even render on the GPU (many times faster). In the above tutorial the instructor looks around the scene while it is rendering in almost real-time - thanks to Blender's GPU renderer. Change a material, and see it update in almost real-time. Splendid! Compare that to Photoshop's archaic and dead-slow renderer, and you will never want to go back.
    Here are the demo reels for 2014 and 2013 to get a basic idea of what Blender is capable of nowadays. It's insane to think this is freely available to anyone! And if you like After Effects: Blender has smoke and fluid sims, as well as a nodal compositor with full 3d scene and object tracking. Passes can be sent to After Effects and Photoshop for further editing.

  • I have had my iPhone 4s for a few months and the battery life was really good. Then around the same time I updated to ISO6 and I dropped it on the floor and since the battery life has been poor lasting only a few hours. Does anyone know why this is?

    I don't know why the battery life has just become so poor. I can listen to 1 song and lose 1/2% battery life. I had all the settings the same as before updating to ISO6 and now it just goes. I did drop it around the same time but I have a stong case so I don't see how this should effect it. If anyone knows how to fix it would be a great help because I used to love iPod but I am very dissapointed.

    Internal damage from fall or loose connector. Take it to
    Apple to be checked.

  • What I learned in the mortgage and build process

    What I learned in my 8 month loan and new build process. -don't sweat the small stuff -no news is good news.  If you send in the requested docs, and you don't hear back quickly, than all is good.  Understand the farther out from closing you are, the deeper in the stack your file is.  You are not the only client.  At any one time the money guy has a closing on the horizon that will have priority, if your new build is due to finish in 4 more months, well guess what?  All I asked was when MY closing happens in 4 days to have my file at the top, and I was reassured that would be the case. -In my situation the lender, sales, and builder all came under one umbrella.  There are advantages and disadvantages of this scenario.  I read the horror stories no one was looking out for me, I was going to get roasted etc.  I had none of that.  They were very professional. In the end I have a great home, and they made some money.  Its called business.  Because all worked for the same company they were committed to getting me in this house.  All 3 were responsive, and each knew what the other 2 were doing.  I was quickly preapproved, they only wanted 500 down in earnest, and they broke ground within 30 days after the contract was signed.  They paid ALL closing costs, over 12,0000 dollars worth.  The house is beautiful and well built.  I've had a few minor issues (ALL new houses do) that were promptly addressed and satisfied.    -My way to a new house is the middle method.  1st you pick out a spec house in the community and just move in.  Works for most people.  2nd you do like I did.  Pick a plan from the builder for that community.  You get to pick out colors, options etc.  The price given is gonna be the basic house, check that list carefully.  In my case the house had many "Upgraded" options as standard.  As a incentive I was given another 8,000 to use at the design center.  Well we spent that and another 7 LOL.  Realize it does not take long to spend 10k at the design center.  3rd option is the true custom build.  You buy the lot, get the architect to draw up precisely what you want, and go find the builder, and a construction loan.  You have to know what you're doing if you go this way.  Its a lot of work, and I entertained no notion of this option.  I mean you're gonna spend hours (days?) in Lowe's looking at door knobs, backspaslh, lights.  In my route the designers had all that narrowed down for ya, so instead of looking at hundreds of tiles you chose from about 30.  I liked that.  Understand the builder has vendors for all that stuff, and buy it at a good price, and why they were able to build me a pretty good house for the price. -Stuff is gonna happen.  Docs will be misplaced, wrongly shredded, or deleted and have to be reexcuted.  Weather will be bad=more delays.  Suppliers get behind and can't get stuff to the job site.  Don't let it ruin your day.  Just resend the docs. -the people in the pipeline work best under pressure, they're let ya know when its time to sweat. -I kept a accordion file of the stuff I turned into the money people, I kept it on my desk for quick reference for months.  It became a part of me.  A month after closing it now sits on my bookcase.  I look to it when I want to be reminded what it took to get me here.  It truly represents almost 40 years of work and life.  I think I'm gonna have it buried with me.  I suggest you keep a file. -don't try to match wits with these guys.  A couple of times I was asked for stuff that I thought had no revelance, but I did my duty and just got it up and sent the requested info. -They want you to buy THIS house.  -Know the scrore going in=understand and know YOUR credit file and how it got there and how to get it better.  It will make the process much easier.  I really didn't do that because I didn't know anything.  I was lucky, I had a clean file, my only problem was lack of revolving credit.  Because I had 6 months to work it, I was advised to go out and pick 2 more cards.  I did and my scores improved 25 points right away. -if you are going to engage collections on your file, do it before applying, or get some solid advice if you're gonna do it while in the process. -do not become a slave to the process.  While all this going on, live your life.  Do the stuff you like doing.  When you sit around and wonder what they're gonna do about your driveway all the time you whip up all kinds of ugly scenarios.    -if you have issues of confrontaion, controversey, and uncooperation among any of the 3, and its not gettin better, step back and take a look. -try to get good snacks at the closing.  I wanted nachos but got Keebler oatmeal cookies and mtn dew. And thats all I can think of right now.

    Which means tomorrow is when we get the new update for our iPhones and I just found the answer to my question, I don't care for the new iPods, just wanted to know when the update will be available
