Good Ideas for New iChat 4 "Green Screen" Backgrounds!

Mine is a TV, so it looks like your on TV
What are your ideas

I used to use ChatFX and had one like the one with the Net cube in the pic
They have another which added banners to top and bottom which you could add text to. One I had was a scrolling RSS feed from these discussions, although it ws processor hungry.
I am sure it will not be long before someone finds an easy way to add video packs like the smilies used to as they are only Quartz composer items.
(they are inside the Show Package > Contents > Resources after right clicking the app in applications)
Quartz Composer is part of the Developers Tools install

live type files look grainy and do not fill the background when used for green screen backgrounds. Ideas?

What I want to do is somehow make my entire iMovie project smaller by compressing it somehow but without losing any footage or audio or quality. At the moment the project is a 56GB iMovie project lasting approx 1hr. I have a mixture of miniDV footage, titles created in Live Type (they are better quality than anything available in iMovie) and audio.
The miniDV footage is automatically compressed when it transfers from my camcorder to my Mac, no worries there.
The LiveType titles contain a motion background (imported into LT) and then text which appears and disappears at set points. The titles vary in length but are about 5 seconds each.
The file size for the LT titles is approx 180MB per clip, the movie requires about 20 or so of these clips, making a very large file size overall.
Is there a way that I can save something in LT so that the file size is smaller yet still keep the quality and use the clip in my iMovie ?

  • Tutorial for Colour Correction and Green screen

Anyone know of any good tips to remove the green look from white hair? or any tutorials I can read for colour correction with green screen?
I filmed a getlemen who has white hair on a green screen. The colour of his hair picked up a slight tint of green and I need to remove it. Can anyone lend some sound advice.
    Thanks

Your best chance is to study the manual carefully and to cycle through the chromakeying filters you have at your disposal. If you were using DV, you will probably need to purchase a far more capable keying application, one that compensates for DV's terrible chroma resolution.
The books on the shelves at Borders and Barnes/Noble for After Effects and FCP will help you get the most from your existing key filters. You will ned up stacking several copies of your footage with different key settings. Without preproduction, the proper lighting, a good camera and adequate tape format, managingr a good chromakey in post is very difficult.
    google chromakey, too.

  • What is the correct method of removing a green screen background to insert a new digital background?

I am using Photoshop Elements 10 and can't seem to remove the green screen correctly.  When I select the "magic wand" and click on the green screen background it selects it as it should.  But when I hit the delete button on my keyboard it deletes the green background but a white background remains.  So when I go to select my image to drag it to my digital background the white background goes with it.
In the tutorial video I watched it shows a grey and white checkered background after deleting the green screen which allows the user to select and move only the image to the new digital background.  I am following the steps exactly but still can't seem to get it to work.  Any ideas?

I don't know about 10 but in In PSE 8 there is a "Magic Extractor" ( ALT+SHIFT+CTRL+V)   (on the mainu it's under Image ) which makes waaay too easy to seperate a selection from the background
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopElements/8.0/Win/Using/WS083AC514-D907-483b-84A1-4EA3 989C4C65_WIN.html
As already mentioned, the trick with  the "background layer" is to right click on it in Layers  and use  "Layer from background"This will turn it into a "regular layer".
Then add a another new layer and on this new layer paste your cut-out you created earlier using the magic extractor.

  • Reccomend a good IDE for Win95

I desparately need a good IDE for my old Win95 laptop. I've been trying to do a lot of Java development on this pentium II IBM thinkpad 600 and getting nowhere. Right now I have JBuilder4 foundation installed on it and it's horrible. The code insight doesn't always work. The garbage collector brings all development (typing included) to a halt. Maybe someone can show me how to either fine tune JBuilder4 foundation for Win95 development or reccomend a good free IDE that I could use to replace it. I use Eclipse at work and that's the best but it's too fat for Win95. I just tried to install eclipse on my poor laptop and it won't even get past the splash screen. Help!
    Cliff

Check out my freeware IDE Gel at http://www.gexperts.com . It is natively compiled for Windows so it is light and fast. It includes most common features such as code assistants (code completion, parameter hints, javadoc identifier, etc) for Java and Jsp, smart project management, integrated source control, etc. You can see screenshots at http://www.gexperts.com/features.html

  • Is a time capsule a good idea for a college student living in a dorm?

Is a time capsule a good idea for a college student living in a dorm?

Before you buy......you need to check with the school to see if they allow wireless routers in the dorms, or on campus at all.
Most schools prohibt the use of wireless routers due to interference issues.
Even if the school might allow this, there is no way to know in advance how well this might work....and frankly this type of setup is difficult, even if you have a friend who "knows computers".
If it were me, I would purchase a hard drive for backups....just like you do now.... and send an email once or twice a week to the student to remind them to "backup".

  • Good IDE for JSP/Servlets Development

Guys, I was looking for a good IDE for JSP/Sevlets development. I for myself wouldn't need or atleast wouldn't want to have one, but for our production they say they need one. So please can u guys advise one. I have downloaded and tried JDeveloper but it just hangs, dont know but looks like its too memory intensive. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance

IBM's Websphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD) is a good one. It can also connect to any CVS servers, which allows you to control the versions. Hope this may help you...

  • Do you know of any safe/free green screen background videos/pictures?

I'm looking to do funny stuff like fake surfing, running with the bulls, celebrity pictures/interviews...Do you know of any websites that provide free green screen backgrounds?

I understand your colleagues quite well. With all benefits of programming in G, documentation, verification, version management is still an open issue. I have not seen NI source code control in operation (and currently we lack the $), so this might help. But I am getting uneasy more and more as our current project grows and grows.
Talking about source code management, that does certainly not mean a "diff" of two C-sources on an editor. I was working for a company that sold SNiFF and had the chance to use it free of charge. Well, that was a great tool. I still miss something similar for G.
Labview VI's have a tendency two develop easily into a mesh of crisscross lines that are difficult to follow and understand unless you redraw again and again those wires
meticuloulsy, regroup here, combine there, sub-vi somewhere else. Everyone is a new version without a real change of the logic. And you better have a dual monitor system and of course a 21" screen, but that you know!
After all, vi-editor is still going strong in certain groups although IMHO it should be dead and buried since 20 years ago. To say that that a vi diagram is the future and take it or die is harsh. A good sourcecode tool would help it's acceptance a lot.

  • Only raw video can be used with green screen background?  What?

    Latest of all software.
I have played with green screen a lot trying to make it work. The instructions say, and the only way to make it work, is to drag the background only to main time line in project pane, then drag a raw video clip from the events viewer on top of it, and choose green screen. This makes the video clip an add on to the main time line which is the back drop (like a title is an add on to a video clip).
As I have railed in other posts, this doesn't make much sense. But the real problem is you can only drag RAW video onto the back ground from events, and can not edit it any way afterwards (since it is treated as an add on, not the main time line). You can edit the back ground, since it is in the main time line.
The bottom line is: you cannot drag a RAW video onto the project pane, edit it and get it the way you want, and then add a back ground via the green screen. This make no sense.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Any ideas?
    bob

Well, here is a convoluted method that seems to work...
    1) drag the raw video to the project pane, edit to your heart's content.
    2) save it as a .mov file (i.e. you are all done with it no more changes...ever).
    3) import that .mov file File, Import as a new event.
    4) drag the background(s) on to project pane, make it long enough for video
    5) drag RAV .mov file (which is really a finished edited file) on to background, choose green screen).
You now have an edited .mov with a green screen background.
Could green screen be implemented more poorly? It would be hard to see how.
I still feel like I am missing something. Any ideas?

  • Please answer once and for all the boot green screen

I have searched everywhere for an answer since my issue.
    Relevant info:
    iPhone 3GS.
    iTunes version 10.7.0.21 (2012-09-12).
Doesn't matter what system I have since this is related to an iPhone device.
Fully charged battery before proceeding with the update.
Updated the iOS 5.1.1 of the iPhone to iOS 6.0 through required update recommendation of iTunes.
Never been abused, jailbroken, serviced or dropped. (never had issues until the update)
Once completed the updated process of iTunes and iPhone was done with the internal installation, the iPhone rebooted with a green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver". It loaded up to the iPhone Configure screen still with green color screen/hue.
I pressed on the power button for 5 seconds and slide "slide to power off" and the iPhone turned off. I waited about 15 seconds and pressed on the power button to turn the iPhone back on, hoping no more green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver" but returned to the original green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver".
    Failed!
It still showed green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver" and booted to the iPhone Configure screen still with green color screen/hue.
Remedies tried after searching the internet:
    Hard Restart/Reset.
DFU Mode. (even tried a restore process with iTunes again *so much time wasted to obtain the iOS download again*
Recovery Mode (even tried a restore process with iTunes again *so much time wasted to obtain the iOS download again*
Recovery from Backup is denied because previous version was iOS 5.1.1 and iTunes refuses the process so (even tried a restore process with iTunes again *so much time wasted to obtain the iOS download again*
Left the iPhone at the Configure screen until battery drained and then plugged it back into the USB port of system until it charged long enough for the iPhone to boot yet again green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver". It booted to the iPhone Configure screen which is still the green screen/hue and I left it charging until battery icon top right showed full.
Now, can someone give a straight answer while staying on this topic about this issue, please?
*I can understand if the apple logo was green then it could be a screen issue but it is not the case.
All help is greatly appreciated even if you took the time to read all of this but did not answer.
    Thank you!

    At first I had troubles similar to what you describe;
initially, part of the problem was that my hosting company had not
yet upgraded to CF 7.02. One other thing I had to correct: when you
upload to your server, upload the entire ‘bin’ (or
whatever your output folder is) minus the debug SWF.

  • Need ideas for new PJC/Java Beans

    Hello everybody,
I am always looking for new ideas about the Java Bean and PJC stuff. Sometimes I have good ideas about this, but sometimes it is quite a pain to find something new and innovative.
If you have ideas or needs about this, let me know in this thread.
(Sorry Oracle staff if I am going beyond my rights by using the Forum for that purpose)

    Francois ,
I think that we all need to thank you for all your hard work promoting Oracle Forms.
Your input and constant support on this forum is greatly appreciated.
But I personally think that all this needs to be addressed by Oracle.

  • Idea for new freeze track feature...

    Dear all,
I just wanted to run this by you all before submitting it to the suggestions box to see if you reckon it would be a good idea, and even if it would be feasable to make...
What I was thinking is this:
Would it be possible to render just an instument, or just some of the effects that it uses, to freeze while still retaining the ability to change other plugins?
I got this idea from a track I am making at the moment at home which uses several instances of sculpture. My poor little PB isn't up to having all of them running at the same time without freezing them, preticularly with all the other tracks. Now sometimes I have a track done, but then realise when adding others that I would quite like to EQ it a little to help it sit better. In order to do this, I have to unfreeze the track, but then it is often impossible to hear it relative to the other tracks. Do you see what I mean?
What would be really cool would be a function to just freeze sculpture, but to allow the possibility of ading EQ etc on top of the frozen file. I know I could bounce it, but then you lose all the possibilities of being able to change/add notes etc after, or indeed to just tweak other settings within in.
This wouldn't only need to apply to EQ either - you could ad verb, delays, compresors, anything.
I guess, for it work, you would need to have a 'freeze' tool that would let you select which elements of the channel strip you want to freeze, and then complete the task by hitting play.
What do you think? Is it a good enough idea to submit, and also something that others would like to see, or is it just something that really isn't worth bothering with?
    Best, Fred

Yes, I see what you mean about the plugins... It could still work with just freezing the instrument... The aux/bus trick is the way to do it, and I have been using it, but I was just thinking of something that could, potentially, be quite a neat work-around, and depending on your work-flow, it could speed things up as everything would be on one channel-strip. Because I work predominantly in the arrange and at home only have a small screen, it would be quite useful for me, but to be honest, I could just get the auxes up in the arrange. I have my busses showing anyway. Just an idea! Best, Fred

  • Brainstorming ideas for new infrastructure

Good afternoon,Wasn't quite sure where to put this so I put it under Best Practices. Feel free to move it if there's a better spot. It sort of covers all topics and is more of a high level conversation.I'm toying with a few different options so I want to lay it out on "paper" and see what others might think. A few weeks ago I started as the IT Manager for a manufacturing company with 2 companies under it's umbrella located at 2 sites. We've been experiencing 20-40% year-over-year growth for the last 6 years. An MSP has been taking care of things up until this point. Our current infrastructure looks like this:Microwave P2P between the 2 buildings. Building 1 houses all networking/WAN equipment, Building 2, on the other side of the P2P, is basically an island and gets all of it's connectivity from Building 1. Only equipment on side at...
