Good News Bad News and Loop question

The good news is AP3 seems to be working great since I've cleared ALL cashes and started, re-started in safe mode.
My one remaining problem is with the loop. It seems the more changes I make to my image the longer it takes the loop to kick-in. If no changes the loop magnifies in an instant but after adjusting wb,exposure, enhance, sharpen and highlights & shadows the loop may take up to 10 seconds or longer to kick-in to focus.
Anyone have a cure for this?
Thanks,
BobM

  • I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty?

I'm looking to buy a new Macbook Pro, and have questions about the Applecare extended warranty? I want to know if the 3 year extended warranty covers what damage. Like water damage, accidental damage, lost or stolen macbook, manufactory defects, or any other kind of damage, maybe be even cosmetic damage. Can anyone help me?

If you are talking about features of the MBP itself, as long as you are not looking at  the Retina models, then the memory you can upgrade yourself for a lot less than Apple charges, and that does not affect the warranty as Apple considers memory a user permitted upgrade.  Great sources are Crucial and OWC, both are Mac specialists and have on-line videos on how to do the install.
If the 15" is what you are looking at, a good upgrade is the 7200 rpm hard drive, gives a little better performance over the standard 5400 rpm drive.
The Hi Res screen is good if you do a lot of graphics work.
Comparing the 13" amd 15" you will notice the 15" has a second, discrete graphic processor...helps when you get into heavy duty videos, games, graphics...but keep in mind that kicking in the second processor uses a lot of power and will run the battery down faster.
If you are looking at the Retina models, then keep in mind there are no post-purchase upgrade options...you have to buy with everything you want at the start.
    Just some thoughts.

  • New to mac and iphoto, questions about photo structure & organization

I bought a new Macbook Pro a couple of days ago and am still figuring things out. I wasn't displeased with windows...I just decided to try a mac anyway, So far, I adore it except for one thing, the pictures.
I spent hours researching whether to download and use picasa 3 for mac or iphoto. I decided on picasa....and now I've changed my mind. (Mostly because I tried to take pictures of the moon tonight, and they looked great in camera, but Picasa could only pick up a black screen whearas iphoto actually saw and defined the moon- and with the editing software on the two, the picasa auto-edit looked like a picture that was created in microsoft paint, and iphoto came out with a beautifully contrasted photo).
Now that I decided to use iphoto, I have been researching how to switch and still seem to have a lot of questions. (I've poked around numerous forums but have found conflicting answers on different sites).
    1) I organize my pictures by folders with the month and year. I know iphoto organizes events, which it seems to determine based on photo similarity. Will my photo structure still appear in finder -> pictures?
    2) Is it possible to stop iphoto from organizing my pictures and just trust me on what I want?
    3) All of my friends and family use PCs, and there is a chance that due to financial concerns, when I eventually replace my macbook pro (far in the future) I could switch to a pc. Does iphoto make transferring pictures more difficult? (If I understand correctly, it does not change the photo file, a jpeg is still a jpeg but I want to be sure)
    4) I do not want iphoto to duplicate all of the pictures already in my library....if I import from finder-users-pictures, will it simply use those, or duplicate all 150gb worth of pictures?
    5) Any other tips for someone completely new to macs and iphoto?
    6) This is very silly, but how do I uninstall picasa (I know how to uninstall on a windows but want to make sure I do things correctly on my mac!)
Also, just a "bonus"- regarding events vs. files I create, will iphoto create events within the program but leave my file structure in the library it imports from alone? If I use finder to go to where I store my photos, will I still see my file structure regardless of what iphoto does?(Does that make sense? I'm having a hard time trying to describe it)
I apologize if this question is foolish or misplaced- I did read many other posts but didn't see the answers I was looking for.

Your questions are neither foolish nor misplaced.
The first thing I strongly suggest is that you make a trial iPhoto Library. Import 100 or 200 pics and explore. Iphoto isn't right for everybody, and if you're going to use it you will need to rethink things a little.
    1) I organize my pictures by folders with the month and year. I know iphoto organizes events, which it seems to determine based on photo similarity. Will my photo structure still appear in finder -> pictures?
A: Events are based entirely on Date and Time not on 'photo similarity' You can set the interval for what makes an Event in the iPhoto Preferences: iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> General Pane: Autosplit into Events... And select from the drop down menu.
Will my photo structure still appear in finder -> pictures?
Yes or no, depending... iPhoto can run as a Referenced or Managed Library. In the former case, yes you files will be visible in the Finder, in the latter case they won't.
Note that Referenced or Managed refers +only to file storage+ It offers no extra functionality, it does nothing at all. App like iPhoto are your go-to app for your photos. If you use it, then you never access the photos via the Finder. Ever. It's always via iPhoto or the many, many hooks into the OS that it has.
I'll detail more on Referenced v Managed below.
    2) Is it possible to stop iphoto from organizing my pictures and just trust me on what I want?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Iphoto does basic date and time organisation by default. You can change it, you can change the location of the photos in Events, merge them and then using the other tools available - Albums, Smart Albums, Faces, Places etc you can organise your photos whatever way you want.
But what do you mean by pictures. There is a distinction between Photos - the image of your child holding his dog - and files: A Jpeg is just a file. Iphoto is designed for you to +forget about the jpeg+ and get on with the interesting bit: the pics of your younger and his pet.
A Jpeg is a Jpeg is a Jpeg. If you migrate to another app or an entire OS you can export the photos plus any and all metadata you've added to the Finder and move it on. (Caveat: You cannot export Faces. There is no agreed standard on any system for exchanging this info.)
    4) I do not want iphoto to duplicate all of the pictures already in my library....if I import from finder-users-pictures, will it simply use those, or duplicate all 150gb worth of pictures?
It can do either. And this brings me back to the Referenced v Managed discussion above. By default, iPhoto will Manage the files, that is, it will copy them into the Library. You can choose not to, but I strongly recommend that you don't:
    *How to do it:*
Simply go to iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck 'Copy Files to the iPhoto Library on Import'.
    *What Happens:*
Now iPhoto will not copy the files, but rather simply reference them on your HD. To do this it will create an alias in the Originals Folder that points to your file. It will still create a thumbnail and, if you modify the pics, a Modified version within the iPhoto Library Folder.
    *Some things to consider:*
    1. Importing and deleting pics are more complex procedures. You have to to put the files where they will be stored before importing them. When you delete them you'll need to remove the files from the HD yourself.
    2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them on systems prior to 10.5 and iPhoto 08. Even with the later versions issues can still arise if you move the referenced files to new volumes or between volumes.
    3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
    4. Because iPhoto has no tools for managing Referenced Files, if, for some reason, the path to the photos changes then you could find yourself resolving aliases for +each photo in the Library+ one by one.
    My own opinion:
I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organisers
If disk space is an issue, you can run an entire iPhoto Library from an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're concerned about accessing the files, There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
*If you want to edit the photo in another application:*
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
    5) Any other tips for someone completely new to macs and iphoto?
    *To Push Home a point*
For someone inexperienced with Macs and inexperienced with iPhoto I cannot stress enough that Managed Library is the way to go. I understand there is comfort in seeing all those folders. But inside the Library that's all there is: all those folders, stored so that an inexperienced user can't grub things up!
The iPhoto Library Folder is a Package File. This is simply a folder that looks like a file in the Finder. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. Want to see inside?
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
Now close that window and forget about it.
So, once you've imported your photos to iPhoto in a Managed Library, the surplus duplicates are +your folders+. Of course, in time, trash them to get back the wasted disk space. But don't do it today or tomorrow. There's no hurry. When you feel confident that you understand how iPhoto is working and that's it's working for you, theat's the time to reclaim the space.
I organize my pictures by folders with the month and year.
If you want to duplicate your Folder Tree in iPhoto:
Start at the bottom of the hierarchy and drag a folder of images to the Album Heading in iPhoto. The pics will be imported and an Album of the same name created.
You can then create the Enclosing Folders in the iPhoto Window (File -> New Folder) and drag the Album to it. Folders can contain other Folders (Nested Folders) and Albums.
However, is your folder system date based? Then this form of organisation is a bit pointless in iPhoto when Smart Albums or the Calendar tool (Click on the wee magnifying glass in the Search Box) mean you can find the photos taken on any day, month or year at a click. With Smart Albums it's easy to find photos from specific range - say, June 3 to August 25, 2009 etc.
If your folder system is theme based - Xmas pics, Birthday pics etc, then you'll find Keywords are much more flexible, and can be used in conjunction with other criteria for making Smart Albums and searches.
    6) This is very silly, but how do I uninstall picasa (I know how to uninstall on a windows but want to make sure I do things correctly on my mac!)
Drag the app to the trash and empty it.

    TD

  • Installed new hard drive and flashing question mark appears

I bought a new hard drive for my macbook pro (mid 2009) because my original harddrive bit the dust... I purchased it off of amazon which states that its specifically for macbooks and the reviews appeared to back it up. I saw a lot of people with great reviews of the same model of macbook that I have so I figured it was the best solution.. I connected the new hard drive but I am getting the dreaded flashing folder/question mark. Is this normal before re-installing the OS x? Heres the problem, I am out of town on business and do not have the original OSx disc on hand. So my question is, is the flashing question mark normal upon installing a new harddrive? and if so, is there away to install the OSx onto the new harddrive without the disc?
my macbook was running mavericks before the harddrive went to poo, however I did try to re-install mavericks before i ultimately realized that I needed to new harddrive. I noticed that rebooting my mac with command+r would give me the option to reinstall mavericks without a disc or anything. the next question I have is, would this still be do-able on the new harddrive? I tried the command+R option on the new harddrive but nothing happens.
Can someone help me out here, I am getting a little desperate as I have gone over a week without my mac and theres so crucial things I need to get done! Luckily I have all my stuff backed up on an external hard drive, I just need to get the mac running again. Thanks for taking time to read!

    1. Yes, it is normal. If there's no OS on the drive, there's nothing to take the computer past that point.
    2. No, there's no way on that Mac model. You need to use an existing system(see #4).
    3. Not on that Mac model; it doesn't have the Internet Recovery system, and there isn't a recovery partition on the new drive.
    4. If the backup drive contains a bootable clone of any compatible OS, or a Time Machine backup created from Mac OS X 10.8 or newer, connect it and restart the computer with the Option key held down. If it doesn't contain either, you can't.

  • New MacBook Air and iPad question

    Hi everyone,
I purchased a Macbook in 2009 and have today upgraded to a brand new MacBook Air.  My question is about my iPhone and iPad and keeping these up to date.  Both are running iOS 5 so I do all updates by wifi which is easy and fast.  Although prior to iOS 5 of course I had to connect these to my Macbook and update that way.  At this stage I am still setting up my new Air and just wonder if there is even any need to connect either device to it?  I have the music that I want on both devices and new used my Macbook to download any apps, I always do them directly on each device.  So do I need to set up either on there?  At this stage I think no but I am just wondering if I am forgetting something.
    Many thanks

    What 'app'?
If you owned them before they are free.

  • New iphone 4s and multiple questions

    So I have multiple questoins...
So I tried out a droid for a couple weeks and well in the end I decided the iphone was the better choice for me. So the droid was my first smartphone and when it was set up it imported all my facebook, twitter, gmail and phone contacts. (I found this really annoying since I have so many contacts that I would really care less to have in my "contacts" list ) I have quite a few contacts on all of those places.so as you can imagine my contacts are a little out of control. Anyways on the droid there was a way to filter my contacts to just show contacts with phone numbers. So here I am on my iphone 4s and all those contacts are there. I haven't found anywhere on the phone yet to filter out contacts yet. Is there a way to "group" or "filter" my contacts so I I can just find the ones with phone numbers? Is there an app maybe that will group e mail, facebook, twitter contacts or something?
    The second question is...
My sister, mother and I share an itunes account (I had an ipod touch before upgrading to an iphone) so that way if one of buys something all of us get it so were not paying mulitple times for the same app. We all sync on different computers since we don't live with eachother. I haven't been able to look into it but the new photo stream feature yet but... when everyone updates to IOS 5 is there a way that each persons photos from their device wont go to the others devices. Is this set up through your itunes account or icloud or something? If they want to use icloud/photo stream would they need to make their own apple id? If they use that apple id on their device for icloud. If they signout and log into my account for downloading apps will that mess up their icloud?
    Thanks,
I would really appreciate an answer on the contacts the most.

  • New Mac Pro and migration question

I will be getting a new Mac Pro in a day or so. I currently have a G4 with all the Adobe suite programs and more. I am wondering if it is best to install those fresh. It sure would help to get all my Dreamweaver settings as I have a ton of sites.
Should I just transfer mail and prefs etc.

There are many pros and cons to doing such a thing. The biggest pro to doing so is expediency. Manual transitions, while more efficient, can be quite a pain even when you know what goes where. When this works it works great.
However, there are downsides to it. Firstly, being a new system the best way to gauge it's performance is to have everything fresh and new. While it's more effort you do get a much better feel for what you system can do and a much better awareness of when things are wrong.
Then there's the migration itself. With a data only migration I can't see much going wrong but there are instances when a migration does affect total system performance.
So I guess I've not really answered your question. There are benefits to opting both ways.

  • 10.5 - 300 Good or BAD new Features????

Been two weeks since installing Leopard and have had nothing but problems.
iCal is useless, cannot publish and cannot properly sync with my iPhone
iPhoto no longer works properly as the camera card no longer automatically opens iPhoto.
    Podcast Maker crashes
    and many, many more issues.
All these features were fine with 10.4.10.

Yes, Fireworks is part of Adobe CS3 (at least the web suites), since Adobe bought Macromedia.
For what it's worth, it's a good idea to check compatibility with your versions of software you need to use before upgrading to a new Mac OS version. Most upgrades (as opposed to updates) break at least some functionality in some software, especially older software.

  • Trouble with a new iPod video (and a question)

My new iPod video is causing my computer to freeze when I connect it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. After that, it seemed to be going OK, but it only downloaded about 500m (of a total of 50g) before iTunes froze again and stopped downloading (of course the "Do Not Disconnect" icon on the iPod stayed there, but I had no choice but to disconnect it!).
All of my music is on an external Seagate hard drive coming in through one of my USB inputs. The iPod is on the other USB input. Could this be part of the problem? I don't think it's a drive letter issue since it did start downloading the last time before freezing.
Also, I'm wondering if I can use my old firewire cable from my previous iPod to speed up the transfer process once I actually get the thing working.
Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Multiple libraries, new library started and photostream question.

I have multiple iphoto libraries, runs smoother that way for me, I divide it by the year. Starting a new library, and enabling photostream, (switching from previous library) old photostream files divided by month are appearing in the new library. This goes back to 2012. How is this possible, it was my understanding photostream went back 30 days. I'm worried that if I clear them off they'll be lost, I've checked the odd photo in my massive libraries and they seem to have copied to other libraries. Any explanations? Also does anyone suggest how to manage a lot of photos/video better?
My wife will kill me if I lose any baby photos. Any tips are very much appreciated.

I would Move all of the iTunes content from one computer to the other one to combine the two libraries. If all of the content was purchased with the same account, you should be able to do this.
Here is an article that explains several different ways to move the content.

  • The good old swap Fn and Ctrl question

My H430 keyboard, like many Lenovo products, has the Ctrl and Fn keys swapped relative to the rest of the civilized computing world. Since I use keyboard shortcuts a lot when coding, this is a pain. Apparently the Thinkpad series has a BIOS option to swap the keys... but I don't see that option in the H430 BIOS.
Of course I can buy a real keyboard and take the Lenovo one to Goodwill, but I did pay money for the Lenovo version.
(Yes, I've read the explanation: in 1992 a highly-placed Macaque monkey in Lenovo's design department swapped the keys, and ever since then Lenovo has believed that some gadget of their own devising is more important than user ergonomics. Apparantly the Macaque monkey clique remains in control...  )
Anyway: shall I go and get a new keyboard, or is there an easy way to make Lenovo's compatible with society?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    From Wikipedia:
There is not yet an agreed standard for the placement of the Fn key. It is usually placed adjacent to the left Control key, shrinking and displacing it in the process. The control key is most frequently associated with handy modifier keystrokes such as cut-and-paste, or application shortcuts such as control-s to save. The wide control key on a full size IBM PC keyboard layout allows users to become accustomed to using either the left or right side of the key for these shortcuts. In turn, shrinking and displacing it either to the left or the right causes considerable user-annoyance for a set of users....Further aggravating the situation is the fact that the Fn key is a hardware meta-key which is not remappable through operating system level keyboard remapping tools, ...
Most manufacturers today have shrunk and displaced the control key to the lower-left corner of the keyboard, placing Fn to its right. This includes most laptops from HP, Dell, Samsung, and Lenovo Ideapads.
Lenovo Thinkpads place the Fn key in the lower left, displacing control to the right. However, unlike most other manufacturers, the control key remains an oversize key. Keyboards have been a strong source of loyalty for the brand due to both feel and layout, especially among highly technical users, and Thinkpad keyboards are highly regarded as some of the best laptop keyboards.  However, their Fn key placement is sometimes a sticking point for users of other brands.
Apple Laptops place Fn in the lower-left and shrink control to the right. However, Apple's OS X is somewhat less sensitive to control key shrinking, as it uses the Command-key for many common modifiers, making text-copy the PC keyboard equivalent of Alt-C instead of Ctrl-C.
As an aside, I never noticed before but my Mac does indeed have the Fn key at the outside bottom corner, with the Ctrl to the right.
So a replacement of the L. keyboard may be one solution. However, dmille writes (in topic "Access Lenovo H430 BIOS with non-Lenovo keyboard") that after replacing the Lenovo keyboard with another one it became impossible to access the BIOS with the F1 key.
Does Lenovo use a non-standard keyboard microcontroller interface, thus making it harder to swap out with an aftermarket keyboard? Huh!
Well, a purely mechanical solution to the problem of hitting the Fn key by mistake would be to pry the key up and drop some glue underneath. That ought to turn it into a stationary finger-rest.
I'll pick up a couple of keyboards at a used-PC shop and see if the F1-key disable problem crops up for me too. And I'll probably alter the Lenovo keyboard -- it's a huge annoyance to highlight a chunk of code and then, by hitting the Fn key by mistake, erase the whole thing. (Undo is your friend -- but it's still a pain.)

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to deactivate the standard implementation for the New BADI 'ES_FIN_EBPP_MAIL_PUT_DATA'
and activate my Z-Implementation. I have been able to activate the Z-implementation (i.e. by checking the checkbox Default implementation it allows me to activate the Z-implementation).
Also, the BADI ES_FIN_EBPP_MAIL_PUT_DATA is a single use BADI, so technically multiple implementations should not be possible. bus somehow it has allowed me to activate my Z-Implementation along with the standard implementation being active.
But the problem is although the Z-implementation is active, as the standard implementation is also active, the standard implementation overwrites the Z-implementation, therefore my code is never executed.
Please advise on how to deactivate the standard implementation and implement the Z-Implementation.
    Thanks!

cl_def_im_address_subscreen is only a sap default class that you can use for creating your own implementation. If you want to see the existing implementations, transaction SE18, enter Classic BAdI ADDRESS_SUBSCREEN and click menu enhancement implementation, overview. Check if the existing implementation corresponds to a custom implementation (then you can modify it), or to a sap or partner product (then you can't modify it, or you can use the enhancement framework to enhance it).

  • Isight megapixels and some questions

first off, i want to know how many megapixels are in the isight camera in the Macbook 2.4 ghz version (i think they are all the same but wanted to be specific) i might have missed this while reading up on it but answers would be appreciated. also
-do you consider the camera good?
-(kinda silly and dumb question but i like to be sure) can AIM user see me using it in ichat?

    Hello optar
    (1) I believe that new MacBook (other than the MacBook Air) have 1.3MP. To be CERTAIN, or to test whether a pre-owned MacBook has the 1.3MP camera or the older 0.3MP version, use the test explained in this page.
    (2) I consider either version of iSight a fine webcam. Either works well for video chat, snapshots for your system ID use, and even small, email-sized pictures. When you want prints or large, high-quality snapshots or movie clips, you will see much better images from your digital still camera or camcorder.
    (3) When you get your Mac, searching its iChat > Help for "Chatting with AIM buddies" (without the quotation marks) will assure you that iChat can connect with AIM. However, this search of the Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard > iChat and iChat Sharing Forum included the following post that tells of significant audio problems with AIM at present time:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6393396&#6393396
The "Help" built into Macs really is helpful. It should be your first stop for most questions. Using your iChat > Help rather than only using the web help pages has the advantage of showing many related topics such as "About video chatting with AIM buddies. Don't be confused by the statement in this subject that says: "AIM does not support audio chatting..." That phrase means that a Windows PC using the AIM messenger software for Windows cannot do an audio only chat like iChat users can when using iChat between Macs. However, AIM does offer audio as part of its video connection, so, barring the problems noted above, you can both see and hear each other when you use iChat to video chat with a Windows PC user.
If you want to learn more about iChat, see iChat Support. Start with the "Mac 101: iChat" link. Other Mac 101 topics may also be of interest.
Note that the "Discussions forums" link in iChat Support is for the older versions of iChat. Unless you are considering a Mac that uses Mac OS X 10.4 or earlier, you will want the iChat and iChat Sharing Forum. This forum covers the new iChat version that works with Leopard (Mac OS X v10.5).
