You do have the ability to create good user interfaces with LabVIEW.
The main problem is what do you, or your customer consider a good user
interface.
The first thing I would suggest is to start using the "Dialog Control"
controls for your front panel. This set of controls pick up their style
from the operating system, so they will match the rest of the system
applicaitons.
Another thing is limit the use of color on the front panel. One persons
idea of a nice shade of blue can be another person eyesore. Instead,
use the decorations for grouping of controls.
I would stay away from ActiveX. It's interface is quirky at best and there is a lot of overhead involved.
Just to show it's possible, the attached images are screen shots of
user interfaces I've designed with LabVIEW. The first two use the
Dialog Controls, and the third uses standard controls and color at the
customers request.

That camera does not have an SD card. It uses Sony's Memory Stick™ DUO Media.
The camera does provide for USB connection, however, some cameras require too much USB power from the iPad. Suggest you take your iPad to a camera store and ask to test it with your iPad.

I'm afraid it is designed to shudown the VM and then edit the disk .

GigE Vision and USB 3.0 Vision are built to avoid this (by using GenICam) and are supported by National Instruments' Vision Acquisition Software. If you have to choose between GigE and USB 3.0, just remembe that GigE is good for longer cable lengths (100m v/s 8m for USB 3.0) and works well with multiple camera. Otherwise, USB 3.0 has better bandwidth (350MB/s v/s 125MB/s for GigE) and is plug and play (no extra power required).
Before you choose the camera, try to undestand what resolution and fps you need depending on your application, and then select the camera.
To get the right lens, you need to know the CCD size of the camera, and working distance and field of view of the object. Working Distance is the distance from the front of the lens to the object and Field of View (fov) is defined by the smallest rectangle of sides x and y which contains the object at the object plane. You need to use these to calculate the focal length and then choose the right lens.
Also, be sure to select the right lighting. Metaphase has some good products.
Wherever you are based, you should be able to find a local vendor for the camera, lens and lighting. Be sure to do the due diligence. You should, then, be able to get a good image for your application.

From the Apple Store… no you can't. However, you might want to call them about contracting them to do it. The problem you have is that the Apple Store does not sell Windows licenses so you would need to provide it to them. Your best would be to find an Apple reseller thay'll do it for you as the Apple Store will not.

How to acces an Ip camera, with its own IP address...

I have IP camera at home I can access through PC anywhere by typing the camera Ip address. When I do the same using my N95 browser, I can access the camera and its application but the video is not displayed on the phone, the screen stays black.

What format is the camera streaming at?
Check the streaming settings in RealPlayer in the phone so that it has the correct access point and other settings.
My understanding is that the phone will only receive streams in h263, mpeg4 and realvideo formats and in RTSP stream.
I don't know if it supports streams in HTTP or MMS formats and for sure it doesn't support asf (windows media video stream) or quicktime qt mov

I think they can from a physical retail store, but you should ask them directly. Normally the kinds of keyboards available via special order should be those shown at the site below, but I have heard that some probably are only available outside the US.
