Good or bad battery???

hi
i just bought a macbook pro 15" last week and im just wondering if i have a good or bad battery 'coz upon opening my macbook for the first time it suggested a lot of updates, including the battery update...so i did all updates...
i charged my macbook fully last night and used it this morning...i checked my battery status and says 99%-2:55 remaining...then after 97%-4:11 remaining...
i also check preferences....
full charge capacity : 5489
remaining capacity : 5407
amperage : -1496
voltage : 12294
cycle count : 3
i hope someone can enlighten me...
thanks in advance...

your stats seem ok.. i've gotten it as high as 142 hours temporarily, when its discharging.. the battery time to die measurement is at best an estimate..
what were you running that you were drawing -1400 amps? thats a bit excessive...
i run a problem called IBatt2 it has a grading system which compares your battery to the median of the same type of system battery... it will also show you the essential data...
my battery with 45 cycles, gets a "C" grade on their system.

  • Is this good or bad in terms of battery life?

So I have a question, my usage is 1 hour, 11 minutes; standby is 13 hours, 29 minutes. This is since the last full charge on my iphone4s and now the battery is at 68%. Is this good or bad, and the thing is when I used certain apps like words with friends even for 2-3mins I actually noticed the battery life going down 2%, and I know that because I have the option for showing the battery percentage switched to on. It's frustating that I'm doing the simplest task like going through settings and the battery is draining so quickly. Does anyone have and suggestions about increasing the battery life?

The short battery life is an issue of iOS5 that should be fixed with the next updates. ( also hope that Apple would fix it fast)

  • Battery life good or bad, confused

is this good battery life or not? .... my friends tell me its bad
ive been using my phone for 2 hours and 24 min and its at 64%
with 4 hours and 7 min of standby
is this good or bad or is it normal usage?

Well that seems fine then because phone calls do drain the battery faster, along with streaming media off youtube. I think your friends are wrong

  • Using a power bank good or bad for iphone battery lifespan?

I currently use iphone 5, i see many aid product made now such as power bank,
but a question comes in my mind , is that good or bad for our battery lifespan?

Are you referring to cases with battery packs in them?
If so, most have a switch to turn the battery in the case on or off.
Having the iPhone or any phone in a battery case is neither good or bad.  It is merely a way to extend the "life" of the device between charges without the need to physically plug the device in as there is always the extra battery onboard.

It does no harm. It won't over charge.

  • Rezound OTA update, good or bad?

    Still no Rezound forum, huh?
Well, I noticed a decreased in overall performance in my device after the update, but it was still very usable and a great device, but disappointed in the decrease in download speeds, battery life and STILL seeing the issue with my time switching back and forth between Pacific and Mountain time...I believe the time zones will sync before that is fixed lol.
Anyway, so I was sent a replacement and activated it last night and noticed immediately it had the previous software on it, which is good, because the battery life and speeds seem to be where they once were after about 4 hours of use...but there is an issue with the ear piece, the speaker seems to be blown (static and muffling) so I had to pack it up and send it back for another. I activated the phone with the new software afterwards (within minutes and in the same area) and notice the downloads speeds were back down to about 2-4 down and topped out at 1 up (the replacement, both exceeded 10) I am in Phoenix,AZ where 4G is all over.
I am hoping the next replacement has not been flashed w/ the new update so I can ignore it if it happens to come up. I know its recommended by VZW that all phones have the latest software, but after seeing first hand what the update does to the speed and battery, is it really worth it? Could it be that my device was bad all along despite it working perfectly prior to the update? I did perform factory resets and kept 3rd party apps very minimal but no difference. Is this "Verizon Location Agent" really to blame for the battery life? I fear receiving the next replacement and it working fine, then the update comes along and ruins the phone again...I doubt that is enough ground to request another replacement.
What to do, what to do!

I've been lucky with my TBolt and Rezound. I haven't had all of the problems others have except for the network problem with the Bolt. Since I still have it, I've been tempted to root it just to experiment, but the Rezound has been so great that I just haven't been in a hurry to do it. My speeds with the Rezound after the update are about the same as before. They go up and down, depending on when I check it and what server I connect to. I'd love to get the 20's and 30's some report, but my best is about 16Mbps and this morning I'm getting 4 to 7Mbps.
I don't usually see that much difference in how fast it connects to web sites, maybe because I don't check the speed when I'm surfing, if it connects I'm happy.  It also seems to slow down when I tether to my laptop, but I seldom check it then either. Having a stable connection that doesn't drop out and need to be restarted every 5 to 10 minutes is more important to me than what the speed is.  Even at it's slowest, it's still faster than the non-existent WiFi we have at work.
Hope your next one works better. If it doesn't keep bugging them till you get one that does.

  • Bad Battery Capacity?

My macbook has a battery capacity of 86% and it is 10 months old. Is this bad? I get about 2 hours of batter life with wifi on, bluetooth off, screen dimmed. I need to know if this is good or bad.

From what it says your battery is covered under the replacement guarantee if the update did not fix your problems.

  • Symptoms of bad Battery

Does any one know if a bad battery can produce the sad iPod icon and the false-start whirr-click which is normally associated with a dead HDD when all of the recommended remedies have been exhausted?
I recently installed a new hard drive in a G4 ipod. It worked perfectly but after just a week during which it was not used, the iPod gave the same symptoms that I had associated with a dead HDD. I was able to use Disc Utility and iPod restore after leaving it plugged in for a day and then it updated in iTunes. When I disconnected it from the USB, it promptly failed again. Once more I managed to mount it in disc utility but it failed to format with an error message about a missing partition. It isn't recognised in ASP and just sits showing a static one-third charged battery icon.
Is it worth investing in a new battery. Any thoughts welcome, thanks
    iMac 600   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Guess what? Having bought and installed a new battery, my G4 iPod has been resurrected. It seems that the sad iPod icon and the whirr-click can be caused by a faulty battery - even one that is not completely dead but presumably is not delivering the necessary power. Having replaced the HDD in my "dead" iPod and getting a working iPod for a short while I foolishly threw out the old HDD when perhaps there was nothing wrong with it, before my iPod died again. If you hear your iPod doing the whirr-click DO NOT assume your hard disk is broken, as I did. Even when connected through my firewire or usb ports the iPod would not respond in any way. As soon as I changed the battery I was able to restore it and update it as normal.
Another thought I had. Is it possible that simply disconnecting the battery in the iPod resets the firmware so resolving any errors due to corrupted data that isn't fixed by using the reset combination on the click wheel?
So MORAL of STORY: If you have a dead iPod (OUT OF WARRANTY) check the charging current and replace the battery ( a cheap option if you DIY ) before you replace the HDD.

This error is a little confusing.  At first glance it appears to refer to the CMOS/RTC battery but does infact refer to the main battery for the notebook.  Even though the computer states that the battery is at 100% it would be a good idea to begin by verifying that it is in working condition.  I think this is a good first step because while it does show 100% charge, you state the notebook does not work unless it is on AC power.  This document discusses the issue further.
As stated in the document the HP Battery Check will need to be run in order to determine if the battery is faulty.
To perform the battery check perform the following steps and post the result.
Unplug the power cord and turn off the computer.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Press the Esc key immediately when seeing the HP or the Compaq logo screen.
    The Start Up menu appears.
Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics .
Select Battery Test from the list of diagnostic tests.
    Plug in the power cord.
Click Start Battery Test on the Battery Test page.
If your battery fails this test it will need to be replaced.  To get a replacement battery you will need to contact HP Technical Support.  If you are in the US/Canada you can call them at 1-800-474-6836.  If you are located outside of this region you will need to go to HP's support site and after selecting your country/region locate "Customer Support" in the bottom right corner to get the contact information for your region.
    I hope this helps!

  • Symptoms of a bad battery in macbook 2010

I have a Macbook circa 2010.  It will boot up but then the hard drive begins to whir and if I try to open any app or file, the pizza wheel just spins endlessly.  Could this be a symptom of an old/bad battery or is it something else?

Ohhh I got your problem! This is totally because of the corrupt files you have in the Time Machine Backups get restored everytime! So get rid of the backup first as we will need some extra space later! Here would be almost a full proof solution for you!
I guess you should try this!
You should manually backup all your important data to your hard drive! I know it sometimes proves to be hectic, but it will help you eliminate the unwanted data you have!
You can export your iTunes library by using export option and copying the iTunes library.itl alongside the exported data. Check this link, as it is more informative : http://gizmodo.com/5825217/how-to-keep-your-itunes-library-when-it-wont-fit-on-y our-hard-drive
After manually backing up all the stuff, this time you try to zero out the hard drive by selecting the security option as zero out, dont select the other options because it is time consuming and there's no actual need of it! It will take atmost 50 min more, but worth the attempt because it helps in writing zeros over all the sectors!
And yes, after installing all your apps, transferring all your data to the MacBook, then go for a full system Time Machine Backup, this backup would be fresh and would be beneficial for you as it wont be having the corrupt data that prevents your MacBook to perform well!
This methodology should solve your problem!
    Good luck! Keep me posted!

  • Placing a PDF file in an InDesign Doc and PDF again for a vendor- Good or Bad?

Current debate in the graphics department is
Is it good or bad to place a PDF (general Press Quality) into an InDesign document and then creating a new PDF file with print vendor settings from that document?
My thought is that you in some cases are double compressing, lower dpi images getting compressed, RGB color mode images okay on layout but now are converted to CMYK and shift in the PDF.
Are there other issues and if so what are they.
Also is there an easy way to check ppi, color mode and compression of an acrobat PDF? I mean other than doing a preflight and searching into each image folder twenty levels deep. FlightCheck and Enfocus are not options,
too many vendors and not enough time.
Thank you all in advance for your words of wisdom.

Dov, I just got off the phone with a trusted professional in the Prepress field at a quite reputable print house, and he said "Dov is the guru of PDFs, ask him this...Will the InDesign CS3 preflight see the characteristics of a PDF (color mode, dpi(ppi), compression) if the original placed PDF is created as a pdf .X4 (1.7)? Ask him also if you were to use one form of compression (say lossless) in the original PDF, and then another form(say lossy) in the vendor PDF would it hold both or convert the first PDF compression to the second form?"
Any other responses are also welcomed.

  • New iPod touch bad battery life? Already tried tips and support said nothing is wrong...

I just got a new ipod the other day because my 4th gen had a really bad battery(it was very old). When I tried my new one out, I noticed it was just as bad. I tried all the powers saving tips but unfortunately they do not work. I called apple yesterday and they said it was fine( they looked at the battery through the diagnostics thing I think). Anyone know what to do?

We'll, I don't know a full charge, but it was at about 80-90% yesterday when I took it off the charger. All I did was listen to iTunes Radio and use my snapchat on and off and I got the 20% warning in less than an hour

  • HT2105 When you get a apple receipt for itunes songs and you paid with a itunes gift card do they charge you or give you store credit what's store credit is it good or bad or does it charge you if you have a free account with no credit cards at all is it

When you get a apple receipt for itunes songs and you paid with a itunes gift card do they charge you or give you store credit what's store credit is it good or bad or does it charge you if you have a free account with no credit cards at all is it bad?

iTunes credits are, for example, if you download a song from the store and it's found to be corrupt - if the track can't be fixed then iTunes support will tend to give you a song credit for a free download.
When you purchase music from the store then any credits that you have will be used first, then any balance that you have (e.g. from iTunes gift cards or allowances), and any remaining amount will be taken from your credit card.

  • Goods and Bads with the 6110 Navigator

    Hi
New user of this forum and a proud owner of a Nokia 6110 Navigator. I had the 6280 but after 2 SW upgrades and still problem with it, I gave up.
First impression of the 6110 is good, but I found a couple of small things that ”irritates” me.
1 – The timer function when you write “0200” and press options instead of green (call) button.
2 – The original headset is too cheap to be an expensive phone like this, should be more like Koss “plug-in-your-ear” kind of headphones, instead of the small “put-close-to-your-ear” thing that is included.
Also, the straight up cable from the top of the phone is no good. Makes the phone lie bad in the pocket. I also guessing that this cable is going to snap after a while. Why not a 90 degree “adapter” or something?
3 – When you sending an SMS, on my 6280 you could choose “last used number” or something like that, now you have to choose name, and then number, and then OK to go back to the SMS.
Well.. that’s it so far. Anyone else have goods and bads about this phone ?
    mvh / regards
    Timmy

    hi im havin same issues!!
i went from 6280 to 6110 after i smashed it
1.first off i didnt kno of the timer option...good bcoz it was annoyin not havin a stopwatch
    2. that "recent use list"...lack of it...is annoying. i just made groups of ppl i msg most
    3. menu organisation is confusing
    4. in call history, it only shows most recent time for that entry, ven if they rang 5 times that day, also they dont show call long eg duration of 3mins 40secs
    5. on my 6280, i had a shortcut menu as mi left select button, cant do this now
    6. power button is end call button, lotsa accidental turn offs
    7. cant turn off start up tone
oh well i still like it
