updating to Mavericks has had ita fair share of nuances.. need help with BOUNCE restorattion in mail

Bounce was dropped well over two years ago for reasons you can search for and find in these forums a hundred times. A hack was made to get it back in Lion, but that does not work, so I think we have finally seen the end of 'Bounce' in Mail.
And this is why you will probably not see it again.

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

How to you get the transfer button in the lower right hand corner?

I am trying to transfer my purchases from one computer to another through home sharing. The songs come up, but there is no transfer button in the lower right hand corner, so i cannot transfer the purchases. How do you get the button there?

On the top-bar of iTunes, Under "advanced" click "switch to mini-player". That will automatically switch it to that size.
You can change it back to normal size mode by clicking the "maximize" symbol.
Of course, you can adjust the location of it on the screen at anytime by dragging its border (like any other program).

There is a way, but it may not be supported for ever... If you want the old download manager back, go to about:config, click the I'll be careful, I promise! button. Then search for "download", and set the browser.download.useToolkitUI preference to true (double-click it).

How do I get the "Bookmarks" button to be on the left and the "Most Visited" button on the right? I just want to swap them.

The "Bookmarks Toolbar" will allow me to move my bookmarks anywhere along it, but it has two fixed buttons of its own: "Bookmarks" and "Most Visited." They are fixed at opposite ends of the toolbar, Most Visited to the left, Bookmarks to the right. I would like to swap them, resulting in Bookmarks being on the left side and Most Visited being on the right.
I've tried dragging them, but it will not allow it.
I've selected "Customize..", but the entire toolbar collapses into a single icon, with no access to the buttons inside.

Yesterday the scroll bar on Firefox was moved from the right to the left of the screen and the webpages do not scroll when using the mouse scroll wheel.

Reset the pref layout.scrollbar.side to '0' or set to '2' to place the scroll bar at the default right side.

If I have several buttons and the user right-clicks on one of them I would like to change the color of that button. With a left click I can use evt.getSource in the actionPerformed() method but I don't see how to do that in mouseClicked().

Accidently deleted "On My Mac" calendars trying to share to a new iPad. I still have a a full set of calendars on my iPhone4s. How do I get the phone calendars back onto my Mac?
Not knowing how to move theiPhone calendars I tried this.....
I have tried importing a .icbu file of each calendar exported just before the deletion. Every time I import a backup, it restores fine initially with all my old events, but as soon as it syncs with iCloud it empties all the events prior to my deletion of the "On My Mac" set of caledars.

I had walked away from the computer and found another mouse hanging out on my wife's computer, I was able to plug it in and got the blue tooth set back up. Thanks for your responding to this.

Wrong Songs on iTunes need help getting the correct ones.

I just purchased the album "The Ever Popular Tortured Artist Effect" by Todd Rundgren and two of the songs are different from the title of that iTunes has in the store. They are "Drive" which is playing as "Bang the Drum All Day" and "Hidawy" which is actually "Compasion" that is from a different album from the same artist. If you preview it on the iTunes store it is this way also. How can I get this corrected and either get a credit or the correct song?

As a general rule, yes. Returning a value from the
middle of a for-loop inside an if-statement would not
be good style. But I do find myself writing methods
that get the trivial cases out of the way first,
before getting into the real code.

I agree with you in practice and in general. In fact, I also do the same thing although I would throw in a comment like //exit method if no valid processing possible due to null parameter or just invoke another method to do the complex logic part and have a member variable that is null or what is returned from the complex logic method.
I try to have one return for several reasons :
1) as listed above - for ease of debugging
2) multiple returns reminds me of the code that used "goto exit" to get out of a loop because the programmer could not figure out any better way to get out without overly complex code.
3) standards of only one point of entry and exit from a method.
The only reason I can see for the complex code not to be in another method (at least in the simple example above) would be for performance reasons.
