Good place to buy RAM

Where is a trusted place to buy RAM at the best price? [I noticed that OWC has its 'own' and SAMSUNG for $12 more - better/best is worth $12 to me... Thanks.

+Also be sure to watch for sales at stores like best buy. Almost whenever you see their sales they are very close to newegg price with local reliability.+
You may want to check that statement. While some may have luck at the local Big Box store, many actually don't sell Macs and the employees have next to no clue what to sell you.
When you buy from a known Mac vendor suggested be many users in this forum and with a lifetime warranty you are guaranteed to both get exactly what you need and get support from Mac-oriented technical folks.

Where is a good place to by motherboards, processors, harddrives, ram, etc online? for use with me java programming.

I've had very good luck with www.mwave.com. www.pricewatch.com also is a good resource, but you can get some kind of sketchy websites that way. I've had very, very bad luck with a major retailer's online service, but don't really want to post it here (somehow I feel it could be less headaches for me). My email is [email protected] if you want to hear more.

  • I am looking to upgrade the RAM on my Macbook Pro 13'' late 2011 model. any good places to buy from or tips would be great

any good places to buy from or tips would be great

Two of the best are Crucial and OWC, http://www.macsales.com both are Mac specialists and have great support and lifetime warranties.  Avoid memory such as Kingston Value Ram as many on here have had a great deal of problems with it.
OWC has on-line videos that lead you through an installation.

  • Cheapest place to buy RAM?

I just got my new MacBook. I didn't want to spend 150 for apple to take my computer up to 2 gigs. Does anyone know where (online) is the cheapest place to buy RAM for a MacBook? I'm looking to buy two 1 gig stick thing-a-ma-bobs. I don't know what the technical terms is for them.

i have looked online for ram and while those sites do have good prices, you should check out frys.com. here is a link to 2 gigs of patriot ram for 50 bucks.
    http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4789099?site=sr:SEARCH:MAINRSLTPG
frys has been having super deals. if you look around, you can get 4 gigs for 109.99 from them too. super deal.

  • Where is the Best Place to Buy Ram???????

I'm looking to expand my ram from 2 gig to 4 gig and would like to get some recomendation about where or where not to go. I searched this Discussion and didn't find anything on this subject. Anyone have any good suggestions as far as price and reliability? Is there one place that is hands down the best?
    Thanks

Apple uses 1.8v memory, that's what I'd get. There are tons of places that sell it cheaply online, and you can even get the exact Samsung that Apple uses for a reasonable price.
I'll be trying a pair of Corsair Value Select 1G modules when my Quad arrives. I got them from Newegg, and they're going back if they're not 100% stable. That pair cost me about $140. Newegg has always been great for me.
A simple place to get Mac RAM is OWC. Their OWC branded RAM is inexpensive, and guaranteed to work. They also sell the exact Samsung part that Apple uses, but it's about 50% more money.

  • Looking for a spot to buy RAM

Looking to upgrade iMAC G5 (1.6ghz) from 512mb to 2G. Where is a good place on the internet or in shop to buy RAM??
And is it easy to install the RAM or self? I've done it a bunch of times on a PC but never on a MAC.

Installing RAM on the iSight is very easy, there's a compartment on the bottom that opens, and you just insert the RAM.. A good place to buy it is smalldog.com or macsales.com, but Google for other vendors and make sure to look for RAM that comes with a lifetime guarantee.

  • Best place to buy a used iPad?

I know the discussion has included Ebay, Craigslist and an Apple refurb. But what is the previous iPad model so I know what to look for on these sites?  I don't need cell; only wifi. And do they sell refurbs on the Apple site or is there another site?

The only place to get devices refurbished by Apple is from the online Apple Store.
    As to iPad models, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5452
There aren't any truly "good" places to buy a used iPad other than from someone you know. Purchasing from any other seller is taking a risk, as you'll see if you peruse these forums for the number of threads where someone purchased a used iOS device only to find that it has Activation Lock and the seller can't be contacted or won't remove the lock. If you must buy a used iPad, at least buy from a vendor that has a return or dispute policy such as eBay or Amazon. I would avoid Craigslist like the plague; you have no recourse when purchasing from one of their ads.
    Regards.

  • Where is the cheapest place to buy 8gb ram upgrade for my early 2009 iMac?

Where is the cheapest place to buy 8gb ram upgrade for my early 2009 iMac, I have bought before but current upgrade is causing mac to crash randomly!? Need to know a place I can buy Ram which is confirmed to work my my mac model, the current upgrade is working but Mac is very unstable.

I meant more reasonable priced than apple
That'll be almost anywhere else then!
Yes, if it is made by Crucial and confirmed as suitable for your model of mac you will be fine. You can also buy direct from Crucial:
    http://www.crucial.com/eu/?cpe=pd_msn_uk
which is what I would do (did).

  • Where to buy ram

I wa wondering where the best place to buy a reliable 2gb of ram cheap is. Any advice?

Patriot is good stuff. I use 2 of THESE in my BlackBook and also use Patriot in my first gen G5 iMac since I bought it in December '04. I have never had a RAM related error in either one.

  • How to buy RAM

I have 2 computers in my place of business
    - Power Mac G4 with 256 MB memory using OS 10.3.9
    - Power Mac G4 with 512 MB memory using OS 10.1.5
The cumputers run way too slow for all the graphic work that we do. I want to up the RAM. Isn't that the quickest way to improve the speed of performance?
How do I go about buying and installing more RAM? Are there any particular places that folks know will have a quality product at a good price?

    Dear calpottery,
How do I go about buying and installing more RAM?
My suggestion is to go through this order:
First of all, you need to determine the exact PowerMac G4 model(s) you need to upgrade. Apple, through time, has released different PM G4 models and many carry different SDRAM module specifications requirements from each other. Thus, in order to know precisely what kind of RAM expansion you want to look for, you need to determine your PM G4 model name and year of release. One good place where you could find help to do such thing, is Apple History.
    Other useful links, are:
Power Mac G4: How to Differentiate Between Models.
APPLE Developper Notes - All Hardware Products.
    Power Mac G4 Manuals.
Once you have identified your PM G4 model, go back to the "All Hardware Products" link and choose your PM G4 model from the list, by clicking on the HTML link.
A full specifications data sheet will appear on your browser about such PM G4 model: scroll down on the left column-link until you will find "EXPANSION" and click on it.
It will appear a list of all the possible expansions for such model and "RAM Expansion" is always one of them: click on it.
At this point, you should be presented with a choice of 3 links: choose "DIMM Specifications" and click on it.
Print out the page which will appear. On such page are summorised all the minimum RAM expansion specifications for your machine.
If you already know of a trustworthy vendor in your area, take such print out to him and buy as much SDRAM expansion modules as you feel appropriate (my suggestion is to buy as much as you can afford - or MAX IT OUT).
If you don't, follow the indications that others have provided you, always keeping handy the DIMM specification data sheet you have just printed above; my personal suggestion, in such event, is to enquiry at the following on-line vendors, which, in my personal experience, I've always found to be trustworthy (in order of preference):
    Crucial Technology (Worldwide re-seller).
    Mac Gurus.
    Kingston Technology.
    Buffalo Technology (Worldwide re-seller).
In the event you would like to hang on to the existing modules you already have installed inside your machines, please post back here so as I can give you further important informations.
Otherwise, my suggestion is to replace your existing modules by buying new ones and, possibly, filling out all the RAM expansion slots you have with the largest SDRAM size modules your machine is able to take.
To install the SDRAM modules, I think that Dave2 has provided you with the best links I can think of (Dave, is that you? Collier? If yes, HI SPATZ!! Nice to see you!! :^) ).
Are there any particular places that folks know will have a quality product at a good price?
Usually the above answer is based on personal experience. I think I have already provided you with my own reccomended selection of vendors above.
Hope the above will be of some help to you.
    All the best.

  • Buying RAM - G.Skill vs. Patriot

I'm about to buy some RAM at Newegg.com and I was wondering which I should go with? I've read reviews for both and they are both good for the most part and the prices of the two are very close so price isn't really a factor. One review I read stated that the Patriot Ram will not run at 667mhz and only at 533. Is this true? I've also read that the GSkill RAM requires a lot of pressure to install. I've never installed RAM before so I wouldn't want to accidentally void my warranty. How does the Patriot installation compare? Thanks a lot

    http://www.ramseeker.com/pc/index.php
This site is always a good place to start.
    I've used memory from:
    Omni Technologies
    18004memory.com
in both my MacBook's and my Mac Mini's without any problem.
Prices have gone up in the past few weeks. About a month ago I bought 1GB SODIMM's for around $79.00 each.

PS I don't think I saw either brand listed... ??

  • Where is a good place to sell NI myDAQ?

Hi, I want to sell my NI myDAQ, but not sure where is a good place (not craigslist or ebay).
I have been searching all over for a place to sell some used labview equipment I have.  I do not really want to sell on ebay or craigslist, as I would like to sell to someone who knows what they are buying.  Does NI have a place to sell used equipment, or do they have a buy back program?  Either might be a good idea.  I have a brand new NI myDAQ.  Anybody know I good resource to sell at?

    Hi!
I need myDaq for a lab, so if you still have it, I would be very interested to buy it!! I live in holland, would it be possible to send here? Do you know how much it would cost?
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Best place for new RAM?

    I have a circa 2004 1.5 GHz 17" PB with one 512 Mb DIMM.
Where would be good place to go for a 1 Gig DIMM for the second slot? And what should I expect to pay?
    Thanks, gang, in advance!

    RAM changes in price daily:
Choose a reputable dealer who tests and guarantees compatibility with your model Mac, offers a lifetime warranty, and a no-cost (no shipping, no restocking fee) return or replacement if it doesn't work.
If you are in the USA, my favorite dealer is Data Memory Systems. www.datamem.com Their service is exceptional, I have dealt with them for over 6 years and theor prices are at or near the best available.
