Good recording solution over IP

I just put a new IP camera up that has sound capabilities but the issue I"m having with it is the area I put it up at is way too noisy and the sound gets jumbled and worthless. I need a way to drop a mic down the tiles near the camera that would hopefully run over IP and just have an application on the server hosting the camera software.
I -could- run a independent cable to the speakers in the viewing room (I don't necessarily need recording capabilities, this is just a monitor) if I have to, I just need the ability to run ~75 feet of cable and I have ethernet already in place.
Any suggestions on a solution?

The 'mic jack' on the old mic is both wide and large, measuring about an inch and a quarter from the base (where it comes out of the black encasing) to the edge of the tip (sort of cone shaped). As I can't plug this in directly to any port in the back of the Mac, I thought it might be possible to to buy some sort of adapter so that I could plug in the jack at one end, with a USB connector at the other end to go straight into the Mac. But I see from your comment that you are suggesting a smaller jack itself (i.e., large size jack to small size jack and then plug in to the small round port, instead of jack to USB port)?
At the Mac shop I bought a USB adapter to connect up a second monitor (screen). I've just dug out the package and it's called a mini display port to VGA adapter. But back to the mic issue, I don't want to use the old mic really, I'm just trying to eliminate whether or not my usual mic, or its USB cable, is at fault and causing the clicking.
I looked on Amazon for a suitable adapter but there was mention of these little gadgets having a sound card. As the Mac obviously has its own internal sound card, I couldn't see the point of another (exernal) one, unless it was actually required to convert the sound from input to output (playback) or something. One review said sound quality was lost but the person had a problem with his speakers, not a ticking sound while playing back recordings - which is obviously my problem.
I do have a headset that I used to use for Skype. It has a pink and a green jack. I could plug one into the "headphones symbol' port and try recording again with Garageband. At least the jack is the right size. Again, this is just for the purpose of eliminating whether my good mic on a stand with the anti-popping sheild is at fault.
While my Mac does have both inbuilt speakers (I don't need external ones) and an inbuilt microphone, the latter is not of a high enough quality for voice overs, hence buying an external mic etc. But whatever is causing the clicking or ticking is obviously affecting the quality of my recordings. As you can imagine, it is very time-consuming to edit out the ticking spikes and if the noise appears during speech, you can't edit it out at all.
Please keep the suggestions coming. I am determined to get to the bottom of this for my sake and everyone else who is suffering from the same problem!

Please recommend an external VHS - DVD recorder solution

I've been reading the discussions on converting old VHS movies to DVD. I have around 300 of these, many of which I would like to convert & save.
The message I seem to be getting on this list is not to beat up the MAC on this project but rather put the wear and tear on an external recorder. The message is also saying that commercial VHS tapes are not high resolution so recording over to a DVD-R will capture what quality is there. IS THIS CORRECT?
And if so, would those of you who have 'been there' 'done that' please advise an external recorder solution or relate some wisdom on how to proceed (in other words: what to look for in an external machine so that perhaps I can feed a burned disk into the MAC if I need to clean it up??).

Let's start with this:

That's the wrong way to go about it. Once you record a DVD, your video is now in MPEG2 format, something that FC cannot edit natively. So you would have to take that DVD and rip it to DV/HD, edit it, then re-encode it to DVD ... guess what happens to quality.
If you think you need to edit material, use an analog converter like the Canopus or some kind of pass thru solution (VHS to DV cam to puter) to bring it into FC to work on it first. Then output that to DVD
If you just want to do staright transfers from VHS to DVD, a lot of standalone DVD recorders will allow you to use VHS/S-VHS cables to go directly from your VHS player to the recorder. You were right in assuming that, as a rule, the DVD your get is going to be the same quality as the VHS tape but you will have something that lasts longer. So, if your analog footage is decentl, a good recorder (I like Panasonic myself) will give you a good result.
If you really want to give your VHS material the best chance it has, maybe go thru one of the Canopus converters that has a built in TBC; this can help give your footage maximum impact
Bringing the footage into FC as described earlier will give you some options to correct saturation, adjust the blacks, maybe do a little color correction, maybe even clean up the audio but it is not a magic bullet. If you go that route (would be a long process if you had to do all of your footage that way) you could still go out to DVD converter from the puter.

Free Goods Record Maintenance Problem..

Hi Experts,
I found a strange problem while I was creating free goods record in VBN1. I found though I was creating an exclusive free goods record but in the back end a record is creating automatically in Inclusive as well with the same material. After creating the Exclusive free goods record if you save it end then enter with the change mode then you can see a record automatically created in inclusive as well though it has no impact in sales order.
Please explain me the reason.

Free goods is not currently supported in combination with material structures (e.g. product selection, bills of material, variants with BOM explosion).

JavaScript files are not being updated while updating managed solution over Dynamics CRM Online

While I am updating a managed solution over Dynamics CRM 2013 Online, JavaScript files are not being updated and is showing the source as of the last version of the managed solution.
I tried the same versions of solution on my CRM 2013 on-premise install (test organization) and it updated successfully.
This is a bit urgent issue. Please suggest how to resolve this.

Our technical team managed to find the immediate cause for the problem, and a solution.
According to them there was a corruption on a speciffic OLAP file. By deleting it, they allowed it to be recreated on the next application processing. The file in question was found in \Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Data\UGF.0.db\<APPLICATION>.38.cub.xml
Where <APPLICATION> is the name of the problematic cube.
After that everything is working.

Audio & Video Call Recording Solution for CUCM

Hi,
I am looking for a audio and video call recording solution for CUCM. The requirement is the recording system shall record all audio & video calls including incoming, outgoing, and station-to-station calls. One cirtical requirement is: The users on the CUCM system shall be able to record video calls for video equipped stations with a push of a button on their Cisco IP Desk set or their Cisco soft phone.
Does anyone know the product or third party vendor who supports audio and video recording for CUCM?

Currently Cisco doesn't support video recording with a push of a button on their Cisco IP Desk set or their Cisco soft phone. Also, I have checked with the third party vendors and they only support the video recording using Passive Call recording (port mirroring).

How Do I Add A Pre-recorded Voice Over to an iMovie Project?

I have an audio file with the voice over I want to add to my movie project (which has an insturmental music track I want to duck during the voice over). How can I add this pre-recorded voice over track to my project?

You can drag in the voiceover file and drop it on top of the clip where you want it to start. It does not have to be perfectly placed, because you can fine tune it later by dragging.
I would suggest putting your voiceover file in iTunes and dragging in from the music browser, but it also works to drag in from the Finder. If you drag in from the Finder, you must take care not to move it later, or the iMovie Project will not be able to find it.

Do you have an iPhone? IF so, use the Voice Memo app which comes default with all iPhones and record the narration. Tip: make multiple attempts as you'll need the find the balance of speaking tone/volume compared to how close you speak to your iPhone. Also, be sure to record your narration when there is no other background noise.
Then sync your iPhone to your iTunes; your voice memo clip should be stored in Voice Memo playlist within iTunes. Once the voice memo clip is in iTunes, go and import the voice audio narration clip into your iMovie project....presto.

Please could someone tell me if its possible to get my recording to record roll over captions?

Hi All
I am making a recording of some slides in a captivate e learning course to be used as a demo for the course. Please could someone tell me if its possible to get my recording to record roll over captions. If I click on the roll over link rather than let the mouse just roll over it, in the recording it records the caption box but before the mouse path gets to it which gives an inaccurate picture of what happens, if I don't click anything then it doesn't record that I rolled my mouse over it. I'm hoping its a setting somewhere. I did try and add the captions as an image but then it doesn't show a mousepath aaaagggghhhhh!!! Any help or hint would be greatly appreciated.

I'm confused by your description. Are you saying you have created a Captivate that you are playing back, and recording the Captivate you created using Captivate?
