Good service, bad tech

Ok.. ALL things break, not ALWAYS the customers computers fault.
I had my internet speed drop into the dial up range, under 1m. Called for service normally slow 45 minute wait.. but a quick repair date.
I have 3 computers, all went slow at the same time, 1 mac, 2 PCs, 1 XP, 1 7os , and VOI started breaking up at the same time.
I did many speed tests through many different sights, including Venison. All showed erratic speed, sometimes reasonable, sometimes insanely slow. Worse in the evenings.
The Verizon "tech" came unprepared; His company computer didn't work because he had a password issue so he could not check my speed independantly! and REFUSED to hear the logic of all 3 machines and phone going bad wasn't likely to be an "optimizing" issue. He spent 2 hours trying to prove it was my computers. Finally he got to someone in level I tech support and he did something IN the Verizon system (in house, not my house) BUT to make the fix permanent he needed to get a level 2-tech support.... ooops by then it was closed.
All this would be bad enough.. Along the way, this "tech" said, "if I'm wrong I can admit it" When it was proved I was right, that it was ALL my equipment causing the problem.. He refused to say it was their problem. I can understand a faulted diagnosis path but not the "Blame the customer" attitude"
I am going to do all in my power to make this tech "man up" I need an apology in person from this tech for wasting his company’s time and mine though closed minded diagnostic paths, and his customer is wrong attitude!

I have a requirement for which I need to add 2 custom fields on extended search screen of confirm goods/services centrally; I have tried implementing the note 672960 which did not helped me.

From what i understood from your query, you want to add fields on the "CONFIRM GOODS/SERVICES CENTRALLY" transaction search screen.
The fields are 'shopping cart number' and 'shopping cart creator'.
Please go through the following OSS Note:
Note 672960 - User-defined fields 2
I think the structure you should use are:
INCL_EEW_PD_SEARCH_HDR_CSF_CNF
If you have defined document-specific fields on header and/or item level, you also have to define them in structures INCL_EEW_PD_HEADER_CSF (for the fields of the header) and INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF IF THEY HAVE NOT BEEN DEFINED THERE YET. Consequently, these structures contain the combination of header or item fields of all document-specific fields
You can also use user-defined fields as search criteria. To do this, you have to set fields XINPUT and XDISPLAY to 'X' in table ET_FIELDS for the fields you want to use in BADI BBP_CUF_BADI_2 in method MODIFY_SCREEN. The fields defined this way are displayed if you choose the 'Extended search' link.

Change location and plant for Internal Goods/services

Hi all,
I want to change the plant and location information of product/material for SC item selected from Internal goods/services.
I am changing the plant and location - ( partner function 75 ) in doc change badi but its getting reset to originial value .
Even if i see item check the value is getting replaced with original value.
My question is can I change Plant/location for item selected from Internal goods/services. I could succesfully change the value when I selected item from catalog.
Please suggest.

yes I have assignned the plant i mean BE_plant in the specified badi.
But still its getting overwritten. So im guessing is that possible for internal goods/services.

Migrating assistant good or bad

Hi guys...
This is my first post so be gentle... I just have a small question for you guys and girls... what is your view on the migrating assistant, is it good or bad... i have heard someone saying that it migrates some files over that mess up your system... and if it does how do i know which to delete.. and second of all can you choose exactely what to bring over or does it just take everything... is targetdisk mode a better option... maybe a bit more timeconsuming but safer...?? Please give me your opinions... Thanks... ohh forgot to say, reason why im asking is that im planning on buying the infamous MBP..

I would say that this is a WARNING [capital letters - if you can't tell already ;- ) ]
My friend - who is a computer tech [Mac & PC] since the Apple II days. For all of you that don't know - that is 30 years ago. He bought his first BRAND NEW computer ever - yesterday - A MacBook Pro 2.16 w/ 7200RPM HD [off the shelf at a local Apple store]. He has made a LOT of money from repairing computers - he didn't have to buy this MacBook, because he has EVERYTHING else - he bought it because the MBP represented the ability to have the Mac OS + WIN XP on the same machine. And also - his clients were asking questions about the MBP, and he had to know - first hand, what they were about.
He used the migration assistant to transfer his files from his PowerBook G4 - 17" [1.67MHz] - and there was disasterous consequences! After the transfer - the new MBP wouldn't boot to the desktop - until several restarts later. Finally when he could - there was some very weird stuff going on.
1. No Airport recoginition
2. Screen stayed on full bright [couldn't be dimmed]
3. His BlueTooth cellphone would shut off [I know - this is crazy - but it is true, the MBP somehow killed the cellphone connection!]
4. Kernel panics - [many]
He [with 30 years experience] promptly returned the MBP to the Apple store - and showed it to the "Genius" - who immediately gave him a brand new one.
He [or the "genius"] never had any reason to doubt the "integrity" of the "Migration Assistant". My friend thought that his MBP was defective - and the Apple "Genius" thought the same thing.
So - he took it [the new one] home - and used the "Migration Assistant" again - and the exact same thing happened!
Finally - he just decided to re-install the whole operating system [clean install] - and now everything is fine.
If I were you - I wouldn't trust the "Migration Assistant".

Hello,
We always create shopping carts using catalogs from CCM 20. Therefor we want to supress the standard ordering option "internal goods/services" from the shopping cart template.
How can one do this easily. It doesnt seem to be configuration.
Anyone did this before?

You are right.You need to implement BADI BBP_SC_MODIFY_UI.
You can write the foll code in the BADI 'BBP_SC_MODIFY_UI' in the method 'SC_MODIFY_SCREEN' to hide the links for Internal Goods/Services

Confirm Goods / Services Centrally - Limit document type

EBP 5.0, R/3 4.7, classic scenario
when we use functionality under "Confirm Goods / Services Centrally" we see all purchase orders created in the backend, not only those related to SRM.
Is it possible to limit list to represent only purchase orders created from SRM?

Hello Gordan,
You have 2 options doing this:
- using badi BBP_WF_LIST for object bus2203 to filter the search result by checking if the po exist in SRM. But you can only restrict the initial list, you don't have all selection parameters in this badi (such as requester)
- modify the function BBP_PO_LISTSEL :
after the test
<i>* the local PO for EP/DP - only if the local system in attributes
IF lv_local_system EQ gc_yes.
IF lt_maplist-subtype EQ c_subtype_i_ep.</i>
(local po )
insert an <i>else</i> statement to filter the list, you can acces to all selection paramters this way.

Confirm Goods / Services Centrally - History!

Hi!!
I've never worked with this so I could be doing an easy question.
where? In the portal under Purchasing --> Confirm Goods / Services Centrally --> select a purchase order --> start --> press action and get the history for the PO.
What I need to display is the Invoice reference number.
The fields that I have in the history table are:
Document Name of Document Number of Document Number in QASCLNT400 Date Quantity Net value Currncy Status Long Number
What I want to do is populate with the rerference number the NAME OF DOCUMENT column for the invoices rows.
Here the question! Is there any badi, bapi that I can use to change that value? if not, how can I do to create another column.
I've been looking at the 672960 note but couldn't get anything. I also checked this blog /people/nanda.kondagunta/blog/2006/10/23/how-to-create-custom-fields-in-srm but the report doesn't stop in those badis.
Any help?

If i start the transaction bbpcf02 (Confirm Goods / Services)from the web i obtain an empty window.
But if i start the transaction from gui i am able to confirm goods.
I have the same problem even with "Shopping Cart Status"
application.

Change label for "Internal Goods/Services"

In SRM550, Internet Service BBPSC01, template SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS 110, I would like to change the description of the text "Internal goods/services".
I guess this is corresponding to the BTN_INTERNAL_PRODUCTS.label in the code.
However, I am not sure how to change it and where to find the corresponding translation.

Wanting to buy a refurbished Ipod Nano 3rd generation....Good or Bad

I had purchased the 2nd generation Ipod Nano (display unit) though never played, but when I got it home and synced music onto it the music showed up in the Ipod when connected to the computer thru the USB cable, but once I would unplug the unit from the computer, the Ipod wouldn't even power up. So, I took it back - now I need to replace that one for my daughter. I can't seem to find the 2nd generation Nano's anywhere, but on the Apple website, they have the 3rd generation Ipod Nano silver on clearance but like title states it is REFURBISHED, is this good or bad? I need to know asap, so that other arrangements can be made, just in case I need to look further on Ebay or other forums that list items for sale. Thanks, And I hope to hear from someone real soon. Apple's refurbished stuff is supposed to be very good.
Although I have not purchased any of it myself, I know people who have who have all been very happy with it.

Remove 'internal goods/services' catalog

Dear experts,
We work SRM7.0
We use the professional SC (I meen SC in one screen and not the 4 steps SC).
When we want to add item to the SC we need to click on 'Add Item' button and a list of options is displayed.
The list includes Internal goods/service, limit item, Old SC and templates etc.
We want to remove the ' Internal goos/service' option - does anybody know how can we do it ?

I think, for your need, good component is 'PRODUCT' from parameter IS_SCR_ITMCHOICE.

Product ID is not getting updated in SC Goods /Service field

Hi Gurus,
While creating shopping carts in EBP, we are able to find the Product ID from the Good/Service find option, but when we select the Product ID in the search, it's not getting updated in the SC Goods/Service field.Also when we try to find the Cost center / WBS using find button it's not going to the search area after software upgrade.
Could you please suggest us why system is behaving like this.

Also few of the Product ID's are getting updated from the search help to Goods /Service field of the SC and some are not getting updated. while debug the SC , we are geeting the error message as BBP_SC006, Its relavant to catlog. But we are not transfering the Product from catlog to SC item.
The error mesage as: Good/Service & does not exist.

Placing a PDF file in an InDesign Doc and PDF again for a vendor- Good or Bad?

Current debate in the graphics department is
Is it good or bad to place a PDF (general Press Quality) into an InDesign document and then creating a new PDF file with print vendor settings from that document?
My thought is that you in some cases are double compressing, lower dpi images getting compressed, RGB color mode images okay on layout but now are converted to CMYK and shift in the PDF.
Are there other issues and if so what are they.
Also is there an easy way to check ppi, color mode and compression of an acrobat PDF? I mean other than doing a preflight and searching into each image folder twenty levels deep. FlightCheck and Enfocus are not options,
too many vendors and not enough time.

Ask him also if you were to use one form of compression (say lossless) in the original PDF, and then another form(say lossy) in the vendor PDF would it hold both or convert the first PDF compression to the second form?"

iTunes credits are, for example, if you download a song from the store and it's found to be corrupt - if the track can't be fixed then iTunes support will tend to give you a song credit for a free download.
When you purchase music from the store then any credits that you have will be used first, then any balance that you have (e.g. from iTunes gift cards or allowances), and any remaining amount will be taken from your credit card.
