Good sync, good IP profile, awful speeds?

Hello,
I recently suffered some problems with my BT Broadband line. After two engineer visits, we have resumed normal service - except, the throughput of the line is awful!
The router is connected at 9863kbps, the IP profile for the line is 6000kbps, but throughput (according to speedtester.bt.com) is around 400kbps.
I've tried three different known-good routers, connecting to the master socket, various ethernet cables/WiFi and different computers, all to no avail. As you can understand, this is a confusing situation that both I and the people at the helpdesk can't get their heads around. The situation has gone through to a support team who will ring me tomorrow, but could anybody on here shed some light on the situation?

Of course!

  • Good Color Profiles for LED 24"?

Does anyone have any good color profiles for the 24" LED? I tried using one I really like on my MBP, but it looks completely different on the 24" LED. I don't really like the standard Cinema color profile - kinda light and washed out.
    Anyone?

Go to Colour Display options and choose Calibrate to change the settings?

  • Profile and Speed Reductions

Hi, sorry for my first post here to be yet another one about slow Infinity speeds but I would really welcome some help and advice. I switched to Infinity from Total Broadband 3 in early November and initial tests showed my line profile for downloads was 37 Mbps with download speeds just under that figure.
After about a month the download profile and speeds dropped to around 32 Mbps which is what the online estimator forecasted when I signed-up. Over the next few weeks the figures gradually dropped further and then appeared to settle at around 26 Mbps. By the end of December the profile and speeds dropped again to between 20 – 23 Mbps and it was at this time that I decided to upgrade to Infinity 2. This was mainly to obtain the unlimited use but I did hope that it might also help return the profile and speeds to their original figures.
I was therefore surprised to find that since Infinity 2 was activated the profile is now only 17 Mbps  with download speeds of around 16 Mbps. Upload speeds have remained fairly constant throughout at between 5 - 6 Mbps
I presume there must something wrong somewhere but after trying all the recommended checks and tests I am unable to find anything. The modem is an ECI V-2FUb/I Rev.B and the homehub is an HH3 A. All speed tests have been carried out using an Ethernet wired connection. I have recycled and reset the hub but as often advised on here I have left the modem permanently on and connected.
This is the speed test result from this morning...
Can anyone maybe offer any suggestions? Many thanks.
    Keith.

    Thanks for your replies.
I was always reluctant to try recycling the modem but after reading the posts I switched it off and did as suggested. I also switched off the PC and the homehub. After twenty minutes I booted the PC back up and then powered-up the modem. Finally I powered-up the homehub and after a minute or two everything connected together correctly.
Sadly, I then ran a further speedtest and found the results to be more or less the same as this morning. Thanks for trying to help me though..... I do appreciate it.
I have now contacted the mods and will wait to hear from them.
    Keith.

do you mind posting the results from the speedtest with a wired Ethernet connection? Also please remember that if you have just recently had your broadband activated you will be in a 10day line training period.
During this period the homehub/router must be connected and switched on 24/7 with no manual restarts/resets.
This will help explain how Wireless (Wifi) connections work: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36759/c/346

  • Im looking for a good display profile

Hi. Im wondering if anyone has a really nice display profile (.icc) for the Macbook Pro 13 (circa early 2011) with the 9CC5 screen (by LG). Its not like the default is a bad profile, but ive seen my dads macbook pro 13 with the Samsung screen (mines LG) and his just seems to look a little better somehow. Any comments or tips are welcome. Thank you.

If you don't want to buy a screen colorimeter (and I wouldn't blame you - mine was $250) to calibrate your screen, just create your own, personal profile. Just go to System Preferences>Display>Color tab and select "Calibrate" - you can then calibrate your monitor to your personal preferences. It might not look exactly like your Dad's but that's the best way to get it 'close'.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Good connection but low speed with time capsule

Currently I am having a very good wireless connection, but the speed of the internet is only high when the time capsule is placed close to my i-Mac.
How to increse the speed of my connection?
Having the time capsule close by, let's say around 5 meters, the connection speed is 45 Mbts but placing the time capsule in another room, let's say 10 meters the connection is good but the speed is very low, 5 Mbts.
Is there any antenna which I could use?

I understand the issue with noise on the g & b, but why would my hard wire Ethernet feed be effected by the radio mode?
Everything is on the same "connection" to the Internet. So, if you have a wireless problem, it can and most certainly will affect an ethernet connection to the Internet since everything passes through the WAN port on the Time Capsule.

  • Good coverage but the speed go down!!! Please Advice.

Hi all, i have a 4402 controller with 17 ap on line, i am using this system to give wireless service to several machine in a manufacturing plant, if i go to the terminal the coverage is very good but the speed on the card go down until only get 1 MB of speed. I am wondering if this is problem of overlapping, saturatio IT's a big problem., please advice.
    Thanks in advance.

What are the datarates set to in the controller?
What are the power / channel settings set to?
If you are getting 1 Mbps speeds then you are most likely allowing them. Otherwise, you would be seeing holes in your coverage.
If you only allowed 11Mbps, then any spot where you are getting a 1Mbps datarate would theoretically, not work.
    However, you advertise good coverage.
Now all this combined with the above mentioned noisy environment...
What were the parameters / results of the site survey?

  • DG (Dangerous Goods) Indicator Profile

In Material Master, Basic Data2 view -> Under Environment TAB, there is a field DG indicator profile, I want to configure values for this field.
In SAP Standards, i want to know what kind of values are maintained for DG indicator profile?
    Could you please suggest me?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vikrama,
I completely agree with your comments.
Actually i require this SAP standard dangerous goods to add as charateristic value for one of the French classifications maintained in my company's MM -> classification view.
For this, i already have 3 codes like
    1. Flammable gas
    2. Non Flammable gas
    3. Flammable liquid
I need to know what are the other ones maintained as dangerous goods in SAP standards so that it comes under any one of the 5 profiles that you have mentioned in previous reply.
Please let me know, if the query is not clear.
    Thanks in advance

  • SAP EH&S :- Dangerous goods indicator profile in material master

    Helo All.
Can anyone explain the sequence of customisation for dangerous goods checks carried out during sales?
The DG indicator profile is assigned to material master and is configured in IMG.
What is the sequence of customisation ?
To where this indicator profile is assigned? How further checks are carried out?
    Points are assured !!!!

    Hi Anay,
Dangerous goods checks must be carried out and shipping documents must be completed with dangerous goods data for sales and transportation. In case of hazardous substances, an advance copy of MSDS of the products shall be sent to the customers.
Material based dangerous goods master u2013 dangerous goods checks and the automated creation of dangerous goods document from sales and distribution process are covered therein. The material master may trigger report shipping when a material is assigned to a substance. The MSDS output is then selected according to a condition scheme.
Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
Environment, Health & Safety - Dangerous Goods Management - Dangerous Goods Checks and Dangerous Goods Documents/EDI - Dangerous Goods Checks - Assign Dangerous Goods Check Schemas - Assign DG Check Schemas for Sales Documents
    Or transaction code: SPRO
On the change view u2013 assign DG checks schemas for sales document and save. Return and follow same step - Assign DG Check Schemas for Shipping Documents.
    Step:3
    TC: VV21
Choose output type u2013 LD00 and choose return
Enter data for sales organization and customer C-1002 and save.
Hope the info above will be useful.

  • Why Won't Photoshop Sync my Color Profile Settings?

I am using a Lynda.com tutorial for color management by DEKE MCLELLAND and after following his instruction to change my color management settings in BRIDGE AND ILLUSTRATOR to use the color profile ADOBE RGB (1998), I receive this message when switching to Photoshop to check if it has synced as well as the other two programs: "The color settings file contains settings that are not supported by this version of Photoshop running on this system.  These unsupported settings will be reset to their default values."
I have tried several times and it simply will not sync

  • Getting awful speed using HH 3.0 but double the sp...

Hi, using the bt HH3 i getr arounf 500KBS ( yes that is a K ). Its stable and wireless range is good. But if i use a netgear DG834G ( after being told by BT engineer it is far better than HH3, my speed doubles to just over 1mbs.  Iv had speed issues for a few years now, and each call goes the same way ( reset router, open socket faceplate etc etc, usually in broken english ) and each time they send a engineer round who tells me the same thing ( too far from cabinet etc etc ). Scuse the little rant there..., does any1 know if the perfomance of my router (bt) is normal?, especially as i can get over 1mbs using the netgear one. ( wireless range is not great though on the netgear ).
any advise would be great,  thanks in advance.

  • Low IP profile and speeds.

    Morning,
So 27 days ago we had thunder storms up here by me. The power flicked on and off 4 or so times in an hour and since then my speed and IP profile is half what it used to be. I know I have to wait for everything to re-sync, but after 27 days its still not gone back to normal. My friend just down road has a normal service now after the storm.
Tried the quiet line test and all is fine, it just seems that I sync'd back up. Any advice on what to do next would be great.

  • How to sync two firefox profiles, everything except localstore.rdf

Yesterday, I asked about linking cache between two firefox profiles:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/925836
And I got to thinking. The only reason I'm even making a second profile is to have two "saved window locations" for multi-monitor purposes. I want these profiles to be EXACTLY the same except for the location in which they are opened (which is saved in localstore.rdf). It occurred to me that with my current setup in the above thread, even though the caches are now linked.. I will still have to change bookmarks twice. Have two different histories, saved passwords, etc. All minor inconveniences at best, but it would still be nice to avoid them!
Like I said, I want these profiles identical except for the locations in which they are opened. I know there are extensions for syncing profiles, but they all seem to be 1 star performance hindering messes. I'd rather do it manually, as I did with the cache. Possible?

I do not know enough to give a proper answer but some comments that may help:
I am not sure I follow what you ask. Is the saved Windows location you are interested in the coordinates and size of the Window that Firefox view opens in ?
I have never worked with [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Localstore.rdf localstore.rdf], but I have often manually edited [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profiles.ini_file profiles.ini] which points to the profile, that in turn contains the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Places.sqlite places.sqlite] (bookmarks and history database) and your cache.
If you are interested in the cachecontents:
    * use about:cache
    * note there are addons that help with viewing cache content
I am not too clear on what you are doing. If you use ''-no-remote'' and start up a Firefox instance with a particular profile then that sees the same bookmarks as any other instance or version of Firefox started with the same profile, but a profile can not be opened twice simultaneously by Firefox. (My understanding of what you say in the other thread is that you have no problem with that.)
Rather clunky and slow, but you could consider writing simple DOS batch files that will modify commandlines or copy files as part of launching Firefox.
