Good Training Books/Material on FI/CO

Hi,
I have been in the banking treasury business for the last 3 years before getting into SAP and wanting to bridge my knowledge gaps in SAP as far as the FI module goes.
Can I please have advice on which books/training downloads would be appropriate to give me a comprehensive understanding of the system as far as the FI and its sub modules go. I would like to approach it from the techno-functional aspect.

The best book available is "Configuring SAP FI/CO" by Nowak/Hurst. You can get it via Amazon or any other online bookshop.

All these books are great - and I've read them all and done the exercises. But I have to put in my 2 cents and recommend Larry Jordan's book and web site. The book is well written and understandable. His web site is full of great tips, and his free monthly e-mail newsletter is great. Now, he has a new newsletter called Edit Well published in conjunction with Peachpit Press.

Final Cut Pro x10.2 training book

Does anyone know if there is an updated training book available for this version of FCP X? I just completed a course at an approved training center, and they provided me with the training book, but I've downloaded the new FCP X 30-day trial, and there are ample differences in the new version, apparently. An updated training book would be very helpful.

Don't sweat the small stuff. It will take you more than 30 days to get good at FCPX so the differences between the last and current revs are not really that big for you.
I confidently recommend Tom's book. Even though it's a bit out of date, the fundamentals he covers have not changed much.

Flash training book

i've used classroom in a book and some other books (something with a rabbit icon) for previous versions of flash. they are all ok but none of them were able to give me a strong enough grasp where i felt like i knew what i was doing.
can anyone recomend a book for CS4?

AE CS6 training books

Hi folks,
I searched the forums for advice on training books for the CS6 products, but all the threads are a year old, so I'm hoping to revisit the topic of training books for the Production Premium CS6 software (mainly AE, Premiere, and Photoshop).
I see from Amazon that there are Adobe Classroom in a Book copies already for CS6, but frankly, they're exact reprints of the the CS5 books I already have, same example files, exercises, chapters, etc. Very few new topics exist.
I have to be honest that I'm 1/3 through After Effects CS5 CinaB, and I don't love it. All the files are standard def ( ! ), and they don't seem to be practical from a design standpoint at all. Many of them feel incredibly dated and not something I would use in a practical design.
Can anyone recommend a good tutorial book that approaches learning AE, etc from a designer's perspective? I should indicate that I am not a beginning with any of these tools, but I'm not advanced either. I'm looking for really solid, practical, industry-used techinques to take my production to the next level. Things like how 3D tools in Photoshop work, how the new 3D tools (ie Ray Traced 3D) works in AE, advanced compositing techniques, troubleshooting footage techniques, advanced effects work, etc.
Any help/recommendations is greatly appreciated!

Mark Christiansen's "Studio Techniques" would be the relevant "industry bible". Otehrwise these days you can find tons of tutorials on the web for everything, but naturalyl the quality will be mixed. Some are good, some not so much. Until you get to a specific point in your workflows, though, most of them will not be particularly relevant either way. Perhaps video2brain's series featuring Todd Kopriva & Angie Taylor might be a good place to start, but I can't vouch for any of that - I haven't watched a tutorial in eons. I simply don't have the time.

But, this is a good book to learn oracle.
Perhaps, your requirement make me nostalgic about my childhood days when we are solving dummy question and answers from Question Bank. ;)

What is the best recommendation as far as training book?
The one recommended by "Tom Wolsky"?
Or, the "Visual QuickStart Guide"
I have had good luck with the Visual QuickStart Guides in the past. But if the Tom Wolsky book is better, I'm all for it. On that note; Which book? "Final Cut Express 4 Editing Workshop"?

Tom's book is a big tutorial book with lessons. It's a very good start to learn using FCE by practice.
Lisa Brenneis's "Quickstart guide FCE for Mac OS X" is a kind of dictionnary presenting all application menus. It's less based on a day to day work.
Both volumes will teach you a lot of FCE.

I'm not complete newbie to Photoshop, but I know there is so much more I could get out of it.... so I'm looking for a good tutorial book. One that isn't going to cost me an arm & a leg.

No book will have solutions to all problems. Even the Web will come up short sometimes. That's what this forum is about.
I'd start with the manual, then spend some time with the Help files (F1). Yeah, the manual doesn't read like Faulkner, but it's not bad and has the solution to many, many problems. It does rely too heavily, nowadays, on "(see Help files)," but ink and paper have gotten more expensive.
Next, as someone else suggested, "Classroom in a Book," and work through it all, even the stuff you think you'll never need. You will pick up other knowledge, as you do those exercises.
At that point, decide what you want to do with Photoshop. That will narrow your book/training down to specific areas, like "Photoshop for Photographers," "Photoshop for Video," etc.
If you hit a problem, that you cannot solve with the manual, F1, "CiaB," Google and a search of this forum, please post your specific question.

Microsoft Excel Training book/program recommendations???

i have Microsoft Office on my iMac G5, and my mom would like to learn about Microsoft Excel for Mac. She has no previous experience with Excel. Can anyone recommend any good training programs and/or books that start with the very basics of Excel? any recommendations are appreciated! thanx a bunch.

Try Excel: The Missing Manual. I haven't used this particular book, but I have used "The Missing Manual" series before, both for Mac OS X Tiger and for Office 2004 for Mac, and I found both of them to be excellent.

I need to configure Free Goods of Material Group to Material Group.
User want:
1) Free Goods from one Material Group to another Material Group, like F010 to F040
2) User should have option to change from one Material Group to Other Material Group, which He / She want, like F010 or F020, F030, F040 any one of them.
Suppose;
Line Item Material Belongs to One Group Quantity in Gallons Free Goods from Any Material Group Quantity in Gallons

if you want to give free goods from other group it can be possible only for EXCLUSIVE free good type
In exclusive free goods, a material different from the orignal material can be specified as the free goods.
Example: A customer who buys 200 crates of beer, gets 5 boxes of glasses free.
In VBN1 >> Exclusive
See column ADD FREE MATERIAL
While creating Sales Order what Quantity (Gallons/No./Ltr) to be put?
Maintain alternative units in material master >> Additional data >> Material master,BUT it is only main item
Those item u want to give free that items unit is derived from free goods condition record and it CANNOT be change in order

Free goods of different material

Hi Experts,
I have mapped free goods scenario in our system.Its working well for inclusive and exclusive free goods for same material. i.e. If I have a material M1 ordered for 100 units I will get 10 units of the same material M1 free(Exclusive) and two line items generated TAN and TANN.
Similarly for inclusive condition,We have a material A1. If one orders 100 units of A1 he has to pay for 90 units only(TAN) and the remaining 10 units (TANN) comes for free.
Now I want to set up the system in such a manner that If the customer orders a material R1 of 100 units he will get material R2 of 10 units for free.
How do we do this setting? In NA00 itself? If yes please tel me the steps involved.

Please find the info below.
1.      Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: 'With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge' or 'If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge'.
2.      Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
3.      Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
4.      Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
5.      Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
6.      If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix

Goods movements of material with serial numbers

Hi,
1. Is there any report or table where I can see goods movement of material with their serial numbers?
2. Also in MMBE i can see 'On order stock'. I know this is PO open PO quantity.
Now this open PO qty will not be there against any storage location. I got some stock on this status in some storage location.
How I can move to 'unrestricted stock' status?
Please advice.

Is Serial number is the one obtained thro stadard batch management or is it a Zfield.
On Order stock cannot be converted to unrestircted stock unless a GR is made.

As far as i know we can configure only one free good for a material in standard SAP.
