  • Any Good FREE FCP Video Tutorials Like LiveTypeCentral Do For LT ?

Recently my attention was drawn to some very good FREE video tutorials provided by LiveTypeCentral:-
    http://www.livetypecentral.com/cgi-bin/livetypecentral.cgi/tutorials.html
I was wondering if there are any similar free ones covering FCE/FCP or the other FCS apps?
I don't need them of course ....... they are just for friends! (If you believe that you'll believe anything).
Incidentally I have done a search and had a look at the Creative Cow ones, but they tend to be on somewhat random esoteric subjects.
I am looking for something that starts with the basics of the apps.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear.
I mainly wanted freely available tutorials that I could direct others to on the FCE and other forums. Frequently newcomers don't know where to start, and I don't have time to write a new manual, so it is very efficacious to be able to point them to a site with free tutorials.
That LiveType source I quoted is excellent. So now, basically all I am looking for is a similar one for Soundtrack and FCE/FCP.
The first one you linked is probably fine except for the download time which would probably have taken several hours per tutorial, which is going to put off many newcomers looking for a quick-fix.
I must admit I also like looking at tutorials (I never used to!) because every one of them has a different angle and it's surprising what you can pick up, that you have missed in others.

  • What happed to the iPad video tutorials on Apple's website?

I can't locate any of the extensive video tutorials on iPad (or for much else for that matter) on Apple's website - did they remove them or put them in some incredibly secret place?  They used to have them for most all of their products -- now it seems they are only available for software products.

  • Adobe Video Tutorials

Hello, I have an unusual question. Adobe's video tutorials are always brilliantly made and very helpful. My question is, do you make the videos internally or do you outsource them? If you outsource, can you please name the agency? We are looking for a good agency.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I don´t know why you are posting this in the German forum but anyway - the video tutorials I´ve seen so far are pretty simple made in my opinion. You just have to have some recording software like Screenflow or simply the Quicktime Player and a semi-quality microphone. Last is software and skills to cut the hole thing together.
If it aren´t tons of videos you need to produce I´d really attempt to save that money.
But anyway, I´m not Adobe so...

  • I have looked through the video tutorials for CS6 and cant find any help for PHP using SQL.

Where is a good place that I can go to learn more about using dreamweaver and different languages than html.  Is there a service that adobe offers that I could buy that would take me from rookie all the way to professional with a good easy to use structure such as adobe tv but more advanced and thorough?  I am trying to build a website with a log in page and registration.  I have the HTML part down well enough but need help writing the php scripts and using SQL to store the user info

I'm moving this to the main Dreamweaver support forum.
In answer to your question, you need to be aware that the PHP server behaviors in Dreamweaver CS6 use the original MySQL functions that are scheduled to be removed from a future version of PHP. The server behaviors have already been removed from Dreamweaver CC. If you are planning to create a site using PHP and MySQL, do not rely on Dreamweaver's server behaviors. You must use either MySQLi (MySQL Improved) or PDO (PHP Data Objects) instead.
If you're looking for video tutorials, you might be interested in the courses I have created for lynda.com. As a beginner, a good place to start would be PHP for Web Designers or Introducing PHP (there are several sample videos that you can watch for free on my website). Both courses were recorded on Dreamweaver (PHP for Web Designers on Dreamweaver CS6, Introducing PHP on Dreamweaver CS5.5). PHP for Web Designers shows how to connect to MySQL with MySQLi. You need a subscription to lynda.com to watch the complete courses, but you can get a seven-day free trial by following the links on my website.
If you don't want to commit to a subscription service, I have also written a book called PHP Solutions, which covers MySQLi and PDO in depth. It also shows how to build a login system. At the moment, the second edition is available, but a revised third edition is due to go on sale in December.
There are also a lot of free resources on the web that you can find. The important thing to beware of is that a lot of old material relies on the original MySQL functions. Whichever resource you use, make sure it shows how to use MySQLi or PDO.

  • Best online training - video tutorials

Although I have seen some threads earlier on the training programs but just thought get a latest update from the forum members.
Please suggest me a best online site that has the best tutorial (video tutorials)to learn FCP. And also cheap like lynda.com. I am looking for mainly a video tutorial rather than the book version.
    thanks all

    Hey Jim
Google is such a basic thing anybody would do, I was hoping to get advice from experienced seniors on the subject and not to teach me how to google.
All the site you identify in google may not be too good, before you enroll somewhere and loose money I wanted to make sure.
You dont have to term 'google' under your initiatives...even a baby these days would google. I already have a long list of sites with me after doing a google research for over a week.
If you really have used those sites please suggest but try to proove your intelligence here, I didn't force you to give me the reply.
Finally please keep in mind, dont expect everybody who posts here is a dumb or fool

  • Where are the "50+ video tutorials" on APEX?

I saw a blurb that claimed more than 50 video tutorials. I find maybe 20, and for v8.
    re: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/tutorials/
I'm just wondering if that's it. I've seen some really good ones (freebies, a separate CD or DVD was included) covering Photoshop in the past, so (barely) seeing these was a tad disappointing. The very small static-sized window doesn't help; it's like having seats at the very back of the hall, when they should be front-row-center.
Maybe I'm expecting too much for a PDF app... but $700?

Where did you see the "blurb"? Do you have a link?

Since you know the basics of Photoshop most of the books would probably not do you much good.  But you have several options.
One is video tutorials without the sound.  I have used them this way when I can not hear it well enough or person has accent.  The trick it to view in full screen and have you finger on the pause button.  Then write down the steps they are doing.  Even thought they are saying what they are doing most show the mouse clicks, but they can be quick, and you may have to play a couple of times to see what they are doing.  If you are somewhat familiar with the program you may be able to guess what they are doing to bring up the tool or step.
The other option is to go to a bookstore and page through some of the more advanced issues to see if the cover what you want.  Since you need CS5 you can look at either CS5 or CS6 instruction, and just disregard the new stuff for CS6.  Martin Evening is a well respected photoshop author that you can check out.  I have "Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Photographers" and it is quite though.  It also comes with a DVD showing some of the techniques.
    Hope this helps.

  • Video Tutorials for java beginners

Hi there! My name is Donato and I'm developing some video tutorials addressed to those people who would like to learn a bit of Java but don't feel like reading endless books.
They will cover easy topics and will show everything step by step.
I'd like to know if someone is interested in supporting and helping me. Here's an example of the first of this flash tutorials:
    http://scorpio2002.altervista.org/Java/java_1.zip
    What do you think?
    Ciao,
    Donato
    Italy

you learn to do it by writing code.I don't remember having stated that you learn a
language in a way other than writing code.
I said in the video that the only way to learn a
programming language is to write a lot of code...
You don't learn to program by watching videos; At this rate, one could say "You don't learn to
    program by reading books" :-)
A video is just a different way of getting started.
Some people are just scared by programming and need a
    soft way to get involved.
Serious people will be reading those endlessbooks
After you got involved, you'll get thousands of books
and you'll go into the "guts" of the language.
Personally I like books... but I don't see why - if
you get started with some videos and then, if you're
still interested, you pass to books - you're not
serious. Can you just explain me what the difference
    is?
The "endless" books are usually about advancedtopics, not the introductory stuff that a video
    covers.
    You're right. :D And I don't remember saying
    something different.
Sorry, I don't think it's a great idea.I thank you anyway. I posted this topic just to see
if there was someone interested. :-)
And these videos are not meant for experienced
developers like you. This video are to be made BY
experienced developers like you... :D Maybe there has
been a missunderstanding, sorry, but my English is
not that well... :(So what do you care what we think? Make them, market them, and let the marketplace decide how good your idea is. If they sell, you're right. Your balance sheet will be the best scorecard there is.

  • Video tutorials for iMovie09

Hi. I have a friend who is using iMovie09 as a beginner. I always think the video tutorials that Apple have for iMovie etc. are a great place to start, but can only find the page for tutorials for iMovie11. Can anyone tell me if the old iMovie09 tutorials are still available on a webpage somewhere, and if so provide the link? Many thanks.

I agree with you about the Tutorials.
