Goodbye BT Yahoo! Classic

This is from:-

As this is the only version of BT Yahoo! Mail we'll be offering, you'll not be able to access the BT Yahoo! Mail service unless you accept our terms of service.
Question.
If I refuse the new service will it affect my use of this forum?

Just what Terms of Service might that be BT?
BT, is it too much to expect that you point customers directly to the relevant Terms and Conditions for the email service for which we pay?
What exactly is that order of priority in case of conflict? Down the left column first, then down the right column? Or top row first, left to right, then second row left to right etc?
I seem to remember going round and round these T&Cs some time ago, and that the Update to the Update to the Additional Addendum absolved Yahoo of any responsibility and referred BT customers back to BT.
Where do you get these clowns in your legal department who draw up such incomprehensible Terms and Conditions?
Please point us directly to a clear set of Terms and Conditions that relate specifically to the new Mail Service that is being forced upon us at the end of March 2013. You can not expect customers to agree to a new service without understanding what the T&Cs are. There are Consumer Protection Laws and Guidelines about this.
If customers refuse to accept a change of T&Cs will BT's email service provison to them cease?

  • New Version of BT Yahoo Classic Mail Major problem

I have tried to use the new version of BT Yahoo Mail & have encountered a major problem.
When I select any area of the new mail page I get a message that says "E Mail out of Memory Line 1"
My computer then locks up totally, & I have to turn of with the on/off switch & restart.
I have now gone back to using the original Classic mail, but, I find that if I select a e mail address from a web site this is automatically placed in the New Classic mail system, & again I get the message & lock up.
I have contacted India, & got nowhere! She said I had too many e mails stored on my system! I actually have 3726, so I think she is wrong
    Help please
Should I just stick with the old version of the mail system?
Is there anybody in BT interested in the problem?
Will the original Classic mail continue for ever?
    Solved!

To all who are viewing this, I have just had a mail from BT saying that they were having a few Bugs with the new mail system.
    I was advised to phone 0800 633 5335 Option 2, & they would action.
I did this & I have been transferred back to the old Classic Mail system
They then advised that I should wait at least one month before trying to reinstall the new system.
Thought it best to share this information
Huge thanks to you Johnoo, had been struggling for two days after upgrading from BT Yahoo Classic to new version, and had just reached the end of my tether so to speak!!!
Followed instructions above - although Option 2 refers to 'Dial Up'? - and requested transfer back to Classic.  Contact centre operative seemed to understand perfectly
I confirmed ID and she held on while I accessed mail account, took about a minute from start to finish!  Very happy

  • None of buttons shown by Gmail or Yahoo Classic Mail works

    Dear Sirs,
in Windows XP SP3, using Firefox 7 nor 7.0.1 , none of buttons shown at the top row by Gmail or Yahoo Classic Mail works and even I cannot do a sign out of my email box . I had not this problem when using Mozilla Firefox 6 series and earlier .
By the way , I never face with such a problem if I use Internet Explorer version 8 on the same personal computer .
Finally , a week ago I upgraded my Sun JAVA to the latest version 6u29 on the same PC . Today , I uninstalled it and after restarting my PC I installed an old version of jre-6u22-windows-i586-s.exe but still I have the above-mentioned problem .

  • Yahoo Classic and Windows Mail

Hello,   I am new to this board and NOT a techie, hence my enquiry.
In 2009 I changed PC's and had xferred contents of XP to current Vista including Outlook Express.
A couple of months ago I noticed OE had vanished and replaced by Windows Mail.  Fine except address book was missing from WM.   In the last few days I note Windows LIVE mail is also active, but without address book being xferreed.
In general I only used OE in order to xfer mail to Document file since I could not establish how to drag mail from  Yahoo classic to documents.     Am I able to xfer address book from yahoo to windows mail.
    Many thanks

Open Windows Mail, go to File, Import, Windows Contacts and you should be able to transfer your e-mail contacts and settings. However, it SHOULD have happened automatically !
One thing I'm puzzled about - you should never have been able to use Outlook Express with Vista, as neither it nor Windows 7 have ever supported Outlook Express ( most users are still cursing Microsoft's decision to ditch Outlook Express ).
    Good Luck

  • BT Yahoo Classic email

I use BT Yahoo email in Windows 7 on my laptop.  I much prefer to use the old classic email not liking the new version.  I can select classic to start with but whenever I move about the system as I process my email it changes from classic to the new system. I find this high handed and most annoying , how con I stop this happening and stay on classic email unless and until I wish to change please? I probably should have posted this query in a forum but as yet I have not found out how to locate a relevant board and post a question. Advice on this would be appreciated as well.

  • How do you select all in spam folder of yahoo mail classic?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and discovered there is no 'select all' tab for Yahoo classic mail. There has to be a way to delete all the junk mail without having to check each message individually. Please tell me the secret!
    Thanks, in advance.

FYI, I discovered that the problem is with Safari 6.0.1. When I log into my Yahoo mail account with Firefox, both the 'select all' tab and the checkbox at the far left in the 'From' / Subject' header above your e-mail list are present. I checked with my son who is still running Lion, and all of the above information is in his Yahoo account. The Safari he has installed is 5.7.1.
I wonder what other anomolies I will find.
Apple if you see this, how about fixing this in your next Safari update?

in the new version of att yahoo mail that I have been using for weeks for some reason the left column which shows inbox etc extends the width of a page and I am not able to see the emails. I cannot pull the column back to the left. If I switch to ATT yahoo classic it is fine, but not in the newer ATT yahoo mail.

  • In Yahoo Mail thumbnail photos appear broken in email messages

I cannot view thumbnail photos in email messages that have photo attachments in my Yahoo Mail. The thumbnail appears as a broken image. When I click on the thumbnail it does open up a valid photo image.
The problem occurs all the time in every email that has a thumbnail photo in it. It occurs in not only the Yahoo New Mail version but also in the Yahoo Classic Mail version.
I have tried opening the email with both the Firefox and Google Chrome browsers, but the thumbnails appear broken when viewing the Yahoo Mail in both browsers. I am using Firefox 10.0 and Google Chrome 11.0 on a PC using Windows XP.
I have a screenshot of how the broken thumbnails appear in the message if you want to see it.
(It seems like the problem started with my upgrade to the Firefox 10.0 browser.)

I've contacted yahoo on this same thing and it is them not your browser. I've tried in IE and Firefox and only get a generic thumbnail and if you click on slideshow you get black screen for each image.
Stewart: I have checked and found that this is a technical issue going at our end.
Stewart: Our Engineering team is already working on the resolution now and we intend to have it corrected as soon as possible.

Doesn't look like they are in a hurry to fix the issue, can't believe more people haven't complained. It's been weeks for me and still doesn't work

  • New version of Yahoo email won't stay installed in Firefox 17, works fine in Windows Explorer

I keep switching to the newest version of Yahoo email in Firefox 17, but every time I log out of Firefox and back in again, it reverts to Yahoo Classic email. I don't have this problem in Windows Explorer.
I've asked the Yahoo Help community about this and have not gotten an answer that resolves it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ever since upgrading my attachements seem to hang forever in yahoo mail. happens with safari as well as firefox. Not being able to attach photos to email is a major  problem for me

    Hi,
You can consider the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''. You can also try to temporarily switch to Yahoo classic mail whenever this problem occurs.

  • Firefox crashes when signing out from the "New Improved Yahoo Mail"

I reluctantly switched to the New Improved Yahoo Mail yesterday, from Yahoo Classic, every time I sign out Firefox crashes and I get an error message. I have filled out the information and selected restart or quit, and another error message says that the report could not be submitted. I resisted converting to the new Yahoo, all their other upgrades did nothing for me.
Using Firefox on a Mac Book Pro, Hughes net satellite internet connection.

I have exactly the same issue. Reluctantly switched to New Yahoo Mail, downloaded latest firefox as of 13 Sep 2011 and every time I try and sign out of Yahoo it crashes. I'm also using a Mac Book Pro. Is there a fix yet?

  • Voiceover with Yahoo Mail

I can not compose nor reply to any emails when voiceover is on. I am a blind user and if I access mail from Ipad's desktop or go through Safari and access mail.yahoo.com either way I can not compose a new message nor reply. The way the emails are setup up are different and neither are functional. Ipad mail gives a pop up list and if I try to type a message another popup boots my caret out of the TO: window. If I use mail.yahoo.com there is a split screen and at the bottom are several icons that are deactivated. I can not click on anything except Yahoo Main menu. I can not click compose nor reply. I can not switch to yahoo classic which may eliminate the problem. Lastly, I can not scroll down to hear the entire message. Otherwise, I can receive and hear messages just fine. triple-finger taps, swipes do not make page move down.

I played around with voice over for the first time. I successfully composed a message using the Mail app with not that much problem (but it is not easy) once I understood how voice over typing works. When you start typing in the "To:" entry space a box pops up suggesting an email address. However, all you have to do is continue to type the too address an the suggested box goes away. As you probably know, you can bring up the address book. However, I was unable to scroll through all the entries of my address book. I was suck with just the few at the beginning of the alphabet.
I do not have Yahoo mail so I can't help you there.

Well, my problem with Yahoo Classic is different--I cannot click on some of the buttons! Very weird. No beach ball, but when I attach files to send an email and click on "Attach Files", nothing. Same with a couple others.
Going to try to install the new Flash as Mark suggested. Anyone else have this issue?
I probably should change to Yahoo's newer mail app but I just prefer the Classic version.
You might want to read the other replies in that Apple discussion and try the suggestions ... or just contact Yahoo help, if no one else replies here.
