Goods Receipt - Periods - SAP Business ONE
HI
I made an error wlhile posting a goods Receipt :this is what i did i posted a goods issue in January 2012 but by error i posted the goods receipt in the receiving Warehouse in January 2011 after adding the transport cost to the Product in question.

I cant really believe that, except you are doing this in a not good maintained test system.
inventory postings can only be made in a current or previous period. the current period is determined by month of your posting date entered. Further the period has to be open for posting.
if you was able to goods issue in January 2012, then period is probably 01 2012
but if you enter a date of january 2011, then the period is 01 2011, which is one year ago, twele periods back
this must be by big chance that one company rolled all periods as usual, but the other company did not and stopp rolling periods exact for one year.

To whom may concern...
Hello everyone,
I have a concern with the posting periods, I have this client that all the time the posting periods has been created by month (12 different periods), today by mistake they create the new period by year of 2009- 2010.
She told me that they do not have any transaction (in the new period) and when she try to remove it, says that to remove it completely should be with a end of period. Before doing this I want to be sure, if they keep this year with a posting period by year, could affect anything in the accounts.?
If do not affect anything, they will keep the posting by year and next year they will create the posting by month, like the other years.
I know that if I use month periods i can deactivate a period if i don't want transactions. There is anything else that I should know?

Print Barcode on Marketing Document SAP Business One
Hi Everyone,
This is my case:
I can print barcode from Crystal Report without problem, the RPT File is a Datasource from Invoice Document (Marketing Document), I do upload to SAP Business One this rpt file but don't print correcty barcode.
On Crystal Report function very good but on SAP Business One don't function...
On Rpt File I use a font 3 of 9, this font is install on folder fonts of Windows System Folders, too I can print correcty on Zebra print.
Someone know how print correctly from SAP Business One BarCode?

Hello,
At the moment I am using SAP Business One 8.81 with Inventory Pro add on
We are looking to change to 9.1 which has no Inventory Pro as I am told
If we have issues with Items stuck in SYS_Bin and REC_Bin and when you Goods Receipt Items with Serial Numbers it duplicates the same Serial Number
What I am asking is will these problems be easier to fix with 9.1 or do they need to be fixed prior to the upgrade?

Hi everybody, I'm new in SAP Business One. We are working with other third to party warehouse management software, and we have to create an interface with it. The warehouse system works with tables in its own data base, where we have to put the sales orders, and it has other tables where it puts the information that we need to create the invoices. How can i do that?

What you are talking about is really a big integration project.
Using the SDK Tool you can download the Sales Order transaction from SAP as a XML file and then extract the Sales Order information from the XML to your Warehouse tables.
Once the warehouse transactions like Receiving / Delivery is done this has to be brought into SAP as a Goods Receipt PO or Delivery document referencing the PO / Sales Order respectively.
You need to go through the SDK training material / help files. These get installed when you install the SDK components from the SAP Product CD. The same can also be found in the document resource center.

Technology & Capability Enhancements
Multi-session
Support for multiple application windows, which can even be launched by clicking on a mail link or a 'shortcut., Each of these are simultaneous 'windows' into different areas of your business processes & reports. Dynamic data refresh and the display of different views when resizing - for e.g. smaller windows displaying a more consolidated view of data, will improve organizational management and productivity.
Multi-threaded
A 'thread' is a specific task that is being performed by the microprocessor. Enhanced capabilities will be enabled such that each application window can perform more tasks simultaneously instead of linearly, including processing messages from the server. Multi-core processors, even on the desktop, are now common. We will take full advantage of these as well.
Multi Stack Architecture for Scale-up & Scale-down Deployments
To deliver the capabilities described above, and the ones that follow, Tally.ERP 9 will become 'componentised' - consisting of several layers of programs - often referred to as 'n-tier architecture'.
These software components are horizontally scalable, meaning that you can add one more computer to increase the computing power needed for a layer. In the same way, you can remove systems as needed, or collapse them into a single system - all of them even on a notebook, if required.
High Transaction Capacity with Low Latency & Management
Let us say that you start generating a report that needs to be extracted from a few thousand vouchers. This process is run in a 'session', which is isolated from all other users. Even if other users delete or modify any of the vouchers needed for the report while the report is being compiled, there is no impact on this session and you will get to see the report as if these other users did not exist.
In the same way, the user performing the edit will also be isolated. After the edit, he can open the voucher and see it with the changes he made, perhaps even delete it.
The architecture described above will in itself deliver substantial performance and transaction handling capacity. To push performance further in those cases when the storage media (typically the hard disk) is busy with other operations, additional capabilities will store these transactions 'temporarily' in a 'Q' for later write, while the user is free to continue his work (these transactions are protected against power failures and so on).
Payment Engine for Debit & Credit Cards
The facility for online payments using a variety of payment mechanisms (NEFT, online banking, credit cards), as well as receive payments (Debit / Credit Cards, NEFT etc) will be available.

Online Banking and Reconciliation
Collaborating with Banks who wish to facilitate their customers with this capability, we will provide Online Banking - including Payment Instructions, Standing Instructions, DD, NEFT,RTGS Transfers, Balance Queries, Instruction Status, Automated or Semi-Automated Bank Reconciliation.
Point-of-Sale for most Retail Environments
Series B will support dedicated POS terminals, with Credit/Debit Card, Discount Coupons and various other payment mixes, Loyalty support, schemes, multi-layered supervisory control, simultaneous keyboard and scanner controls, integrated or isolated printing of bill and credit card authorisation slips, item substitution, rate markup/markdowns, integration with measuring devices - such as weighing scales, bill suspension and retrieval, bill reversals and cancellations, etc. It can also be used for other store operations (receipting, inventory management etc), and general business operations (finance and accounts) - both on the same machine or separate machines.
Income Tax
Comprehensive IT coverage encompassing corporate & individual income tax, including typical payroll requirements and e-Returns will be available.
EXIM Documentation
Import & export documentation has become a growing need with the world economy becoming more open. This requirement will be supported, additionally covering the processes that need to be managed along with the documentation.
Job Costing
The enhanced Job Costing functionality will support most job costing needs to a level of granularity that is increasingly needed. We expect that you will be able to handle most, if not all, project accounting needs as well.
Fixed Assets
To take advantage of tax breaks as well as to manage organizational assets, this feature will support all requirements - from opening assets, adding, removing, amalgamating, grouping, vendor tagging, AMC's, servicing, service calendars, repairs and upkeep, refurbishing, breaking-down, depreciating and disposal for complete fixed asset management.

Hello, we are starting a project for making inventory movements using RFID, specially the options "receipts from production" and "sales orders". I've read about the SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure Device Controller Interface, is this for SAP Business One too, or is it only for another version of SAP? Which solution is there for SAP Business One?, can this be accomplished with the SDK

SAP AII supports the ALE-interface and the so called classic message interface that consists of an XML command messages (send from SAP to the DC) and XML notification messages (send from DC to SAP). Its based on XML/PML, so you can use it with any system with know to handle XML.

How to run SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 clients on windows and use MaxDB on linux/W
Good day,
As the subject shows we have SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 and I want to find out how to use it in combination with MaxDB instead of MS SQL. I find a lot of MaxDB stuff on the net but no guides on how to setup SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 clients on windows workstations and connect them to MaxDB.
Is this possible and if so how do I go about doing it ?

You will know the sap b1 supported platform.
If you really want to use maxDB on linux/W as B1 server, you can send a development request to SAP AG.

I have an issue while upgrading, present we are using SAP Business One 8.82 PL12. We would like to upgrade SAP Business One 9.0 PL 5 as per SAP Overview note SAP Business One 9.0 PL5.
At the time of upgrading Users
System Automatically crashed.
Further does not upgrade.

Windows 2008 Server R2 & SAP Business One
Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with SAP Business One and Terminal Service on Windows 2008 Server R2? We are finding a number of issues with this configuration and we are looking for any feedback that is out there.
Here is the situation - our customer is running SAP Business One v2007 SP01 PL09 Hotfix4 on a Windows 2008 Server R2 machine. All users (15 max) access SBO via Terminal Service to this machine, which also holds the databases (SQL Server 2005). The machine currently has 20GB of RAM.
What we are finding is:
1) When any process related to SBO (SBO core or add-ons) consumes some portion of memory, none of that memory is ever released back to the O/S until SBO is completely closed. So over the course of a day each user ends up simply consuming more and more memory as forms are opened for transactions. While we do see this in Windows 2003 Server to some extent, at least some memory is released when a given form is closed.
2) Once the system hits a point where around 75% of RAM is consumed the users start seeing application "hangs" and are forced to manually terminate SBO (via Task Manager) and restart. There doesn't seem to be any paging or use of virtual memory (if my terms are right) in use.
3) If the system is busy and a new window/form is opened the new window immediately (within one or two seconds) presents the "Not Responding" message on the new window. Depending on the circumstances the application is simply waiting for resources and will continue opening normally.
I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has experience with Windows 2008 Server R2; and especially using it for Terminal Services. My personal feeling is that it is a platform that should be avoided but we would certainly like to hear what other folks have to say.

Credit Note in SAP Business One
Hi All,
We want to reimburse some of the customer promotional expenditure ( e.g. trade scheme operated in the market, distribution expenditure undertaken, display given etc ) in form of credit or we want make credit entry for the same reason to the customer which should be adjusted with subsequent sales in future.
But we could not find above facility in SAP Business One.
You are aware that the credit note issuing is a regular process adopted by all companies and is quite common in FMCG business. We want that each and every single credit note has to be documented in the system and reconciled against each party's claims .
Please help us with a proper solution for the process of system generated Credit Note as that will help us a lot.

To access the credit note module window from the SAP Business One Main Menu, choose Sales u2013 A/R A/R Credit Memo. Also make sure that you have the credit note option selected in the main menu form settings. Also please check that you have the right permissions and license assigned to the user performing this function.
For legal reasons, you cannot change or delete a delivery or invoice that you enter in SAP Business One. However, the customer might send the goods back for various reasons, or you may have made a mistake when you entered the documents.
If a sales transaction for which you record an accounting and an inventory posting has been completely or partially reversed, you must enter a corresponding sales document to clear it. This document reverses the changes in terms of stock quantities and monetary values.
The credit memo is the clearing document for the invoice and for the returns. If the goods were delivered to the customer and an invoice has already been created, you can partially or completely reverse the transaction by creating a credit memo. With the credit memo y
ou correct both the quantities and the monetary values. The system increases the stock of the credited items by the amount specified in the credit memo. The credit memo credits the value in the customer account in the Accounting system and amends the revenue account by the same amount. The system corrects the tax amounts automatically.
SAP Business One enables you to create an A/R credit memo with a zero amount. You can do this when you clear A/R invoices for items delivered without a charge, for example, for items that are part of a promotion or covered by a service contract.

Blocking Goods Receipt for more than one PO
Dear All,
We have a requirement. We do not want to do goods receipt for more than one PO.STD SAP is allowing us to do the same.
Can we block it ? We want one One Material Doc for One PO .For One PO there can be more than one material document but vice versa must not be allowed.
