Goof-proof photo gallery for client?

I have a web client, for whom I have created a website, who wants to be able to upload photo documentation of projects they are doing for their clients' review. My client is completely without a clue - so I need a Photo Gallery I can install on their site, but that THEY can administer through a web-based form - no ftp access or anything like that. They'd also like to be able to password-protect the individual albums on the site so that they are only accessible to the particular client the album pertains to.
Any suggestions?

I'm afraid you are overestimating my client's abilities. I need something with a simple html-based form for them to upload their photos, with captions, so that THEIR clients can then go to a "secret" link, enter a password, and see their own project's photos.
I've come to the conclusion that anything I could add to their website would be out of the reach of their web development budget. I think I will suggest they try a pbase account with password protected albums, then try to customize the appearance of the pages for them to mimic their website as closely as possible.
Thanks for the comments, perhaps I didn't make my dilemma clear enough.

  • Gallery for client photo review

Search didn't give me much useful, so I post.
What recommendations to you have for a easy to navigate LR gallery for clients to add comments and return them to me.
Or, do people have recommendations for galleries they like for presenting images to clients?
    Thoughts? Suggestions?
    Thanks!

Does the TTG selection gallery remember comments if I close my browser, reopen it and revisit the same site?
The problem with most stand-alone templates is that they are single session only. If the TTG Gallery or other templates have an effective way of being multi-session, then that is very nice and my next comments are irrelevant.
By single session I mean that the comments and checkmarks only exist for that visit to the website, and leaving the website and coming back makes you start all over. That is a big problem, because there are few things more frustrating than spending a long time commenting or checkmarking files, only to lose all the work because the browser gets accidentally closed, or the email fails to send, or they didn't know they would lose all their work by 'continuing tomorrow', or some other problem happens. Think about it... if you are a client that spends a couple of hours sorting through photos and then the comments are irretrievably lost, are you going to be a happy client?
Some comment systems try to make the system 'sticky' by using cookies, but you can effectively only hold a couple thousand characters in a cookie after overhead, and that isn't much.
I learned the hard way by trying to do some 'little job' sales through the "EOS Template" ( http://www.eostemplate.com/eos ), which is a VERY nice template, but suffers from the ZERO memory between sessions fatal flaw.
So be very careful when selecting an interactive photo system to use with your clients... if the data isn't collected dynamically and stored on the server somehow, I would avoid it.
I wish that I could fully recommend Zenfolio.com , since it has such a great interface, and it allows for the client to create their own 'collections' of referenced photos (a great sorting aid), but comments are not implemented yet.

  • Photo Gallery for mobile devices

I am updating my web pages with HTML5 + CSS3 mainly with Dreamweaver.
I would need advice how to create photo gallery for mobile devices, please.

If you are using a Studio VII product, you get excellent tech support with them. Just send them a message via email. I had an issue with mobile devices and Studio VII's Slide Show Magic. They create a slide show that has a drop-down navigation system that one may move in all browsers except mobile browsers. So, if you are on a mobile device, the navigation (small icons of the pictures in the slide show) will be in the way of the slide show if you activate the menu.
I had a back-and-forth with Al Sparber where I requested help. He very quickly identified the problem and told me exactly what to change in the CSS for the drop-down navigation system. Boom! Done. As a result, I highly recommend his tools. They solve problems and, if there is a problem with the solution, he's there to solve any issues that arise. If you buy something from him, you get him to address any issues you have.
So, in my experience, you're safe in buying their products. They host very good tutorials for their products on their website and they'll hand-hold you for anything you throw at them and help you to manage stuff.

  • Photo gallery for event

    Hi,
I created an app to let the user write details about events he took place, like the time, the country of the event, the participants... Now I want to add the feature to let him take photos. I'm thinking about how to interact with the user and how to implement it. I don't know if I should create a photo album in the photos application for each event and show that album in the details view of the event or do it somehow else. I also don't have and didn't find an app that does things like that. Does aynone of you can give me his way he would like to use it as a user or how to implement it?

or can somebody tell me an app where you can add any number of photos to an event

  • How can I get Adobe Media Gallery for Bridge CS3

I want to create an online photo gallery for 3rd party client proofing. I am using a reference book byScott Kelby (the editor of 'Photshop User' magazine) and he refers to Adobe Media Gallery: ( Bridge CS3 / Windows / Workspace / Adobe Media Gallery).
He states that although AMG wasn't initially shipped with CS3, Adobe released a free update for bridge and once installed it is possible to download AMG from labs.adobe.com.
I am unable to find any reference to AMG or any download/upgrades
    (Windows XP/ Bridge 2.1.1.9/ Ps CS3 Extended 10.0.1)

    Good day Geoff,
You can download the Adobe Reader 10.0.0 installer .EXE file from here:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1000_en_US.exe
Once you've downloaded it, you can burn it to a disc or copy it to a thumbdrive to bring to the PC that's offline.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,
    David

  • CMS Photo Gallery

I need to create a Photo Gallery for a client who wants
access to change images in the albums.
The gallery contains about 6 albums and I am not sure how
    many pictures per Album
It obviously needs to be as full proof as possible so that
the user can change images for both small thumbnails
which link to the larger images.
Any advice from someone who has created a content managed
    gallery before would be appreciated.
    cheers,
    Dave

From Contribute 4 users are allowed to upload images to the
server (File, Publish file from my computer) and with the proper
rights (Edit, Admin. Websites, Users and Roles, Edit Role Settings)
they can also delete images from the server.
You can search the web for a dynamic script (PHP, javascript,
f.i.) that displays images from the folders the user uploads and
deletes the images to and from.

  • How to create a secure photo gallery in Muse or other options?

I am looking at working with a phtotographer and she would like to have a secure (require login) photo gallery for her clients and also she wants to be able to upload these photos. I would like to know what the options are to do this that others have done. Is it capable to do within Muse or are there some good off site links she could use and I just link them?

    You can copy and paste an image gallery out of any of the pre-built template pages;

  • What happened to "Simple Web Photo Gallery" Automation in Photoshop

Hi - I have used Photoshop's automation tool to make a simple web photo gallery for at least 10 years.  I have built a business out of displaying photos that way for clients.  i do a few things in the HTML but mostly that function of putting them all in a gallery in nice simple columns was of major use.  1000s if not 100,0000s of photos have been displayed by me in this way.  CS5 was the last I was able to use it.
What can I do now?  Where is the plug-in.  Why has this function been moved?
Actually - don't answer the last question.  Just help me get it back so I can work with it in CC!
    Thank you all so much!

The output function in Bridge - unless it has changed a lot since last I checked - does not give me any control on how big the thumbnails should be, what colors to use, what size the large image should be.  It barely gives me any control at all and that worries me.  In the version I am talking about we had complete control, that's what I need again.
For example, it only gives me the ability to put 5 rows of pictures.  That's not enough.  I need a 100.
What are my options?  Sorry, I really need help with this or I'm going to lose a ton of business.

  • Photo Gallery Auto Start

I've gone through the photo gallery tutorial:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/spry_photo_album.html
And it worked just fine for me. But now I'd like to create a
photo gallery for a homepage that loops through a couple of images.
I've looked at the demo and the script found in gallery.js.
I'm not sure where to put the
StartSlideShow() function to get the slide show to loop
through the images without a user interfacing with it.
Can some one point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

    Hi Paul.Wrightson,
The photo album tutorial you mentioned is a *very* basic
implementation. The one that you see in the demo section here:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/demos/gallery/index.html
is a bit more complex because it uses effects etc. So what
I'm wondering is if you want to use the "basic" version or the
"demo" version. You can't just use the functions from the "demo"
version with the markup you have in the "basic" version.
If its the "basic" version you want, then it is a matter of
just setting a timer that changes the current row of the data set
    every time it fires.
If its the "demo" version, all you'll need to do is generate
a photos.xml file like you see in the gallery/galleries/*
directories, and edit the galleries.xml file so that it refers to
    your photos directory.
We used Photoshop's web album feature to generate the XML,
    thumbnails etc.
In any case, let me know which version you are trying to use.

  • How to transfer photo gallery with thumbnails from Fireworks?

    Hi
I am trying to create a website. I am using Dreamweaver CS3
and for my main homepage I used one of their templates.
From my main page I give a link to photo gallery. I intend to
build a gallery in Fireworks as I will need a thumbnails for my

My question is how can I transfer the created gallery to
Dreamweaver CS3? I need the same template I used for my homepage
    for my gallery?
    Please help!

Resize your photos as needed to cut down their size use jpg
    or png format.
save then in an outside folder.
next inside the directory you use for your web files create a
    directory
with either the sme name as the outside folder or name
    desired open that
    directory.
Open up Dreamweaver and create a Blank HTML page.
Now go to Commands menu and and choose create web Photo
    album...
next a menu will pop up and ask directory where images are
    located. Then
will ask the destination directory browse to the new
    directory you
created. You will also settings for Thumbnail size and
    whether to use
captions if you do use captions it will use the file name of
    of each
image and you will have to go in and edit the caption names
    for the
photos as desired when everything is setup fireworks will
    takeover and
create the album. it will create three subdirectories one
    with the full
size photos , one with the thumbs, and one with the html
    information for
each photo. Plus three other files in main directory one
    being an html
file. once completed and Fireworks returns editing back to
    Dreamweaver
close and don't save the blank html file. the index file
    needed will be
    created by Fireworks.
open the index file inside you album directory and edit
    cations as needed.
Remember if you do this you'll need a total of 3 times files
    of the
    photos you use for example.
if you have 30 photos it will be a total of four directories
    and 93 files.
for 20 it would be 63 files, for 10 33 files and so on.
If you need to add photos or take away photos the method is
    to start
over from scratch and use you FTP program to do a recursive
    delete on
    the directory then re-upload.

  • Spry Photo Gallery Image Size via CSS

    Hello!
I´ve been customizing the spry photo gallery for a couple of time, but got my little problem when viewing it on a mobile phone. When you load up the pictures with a size of 450 x 300 px for example, put up the right xml file with it´s width and height, so the gallery shows the pictures in that size. So what I want to do is that you can specify the image size with css depending on the device you´re watching the site with. There is div in the css called "mainImage" where the size is in %. When you change it to 75% for example. The pictures are correctly shown with 75% of it´s original size, but the outline (grey background) is still in 100%. When you make this grey background transparent it´s still there and moves the caption down. I guess there have to be done some changes within the SpryImageViewer.js, but I just know very little things about JavaScript. Do you have any clues how to change this to specify the image size via CSS?
    Thank you for your help!!!
    Kind regards,
    Joerg

I see you are still using Spry 1.5. Have you considered upgrading to
    Spry 1.6.1?
Also your XML is broken, if you open up your xml in a normal standards
complaint browser such as firefox, you will see that it doesn't render
a normal tree view as it would do with other xml files. So i suggest
    checking those errors out.
Its mainly because you  forgot to close your starting tag of the
    gallerys node. (<gallery
    base = ""
    background = "#FFFFFF"
    banner = "#F0F0F0"
    text = "#000000"
    link = "#0000FF"
    alink = "#FF0000"
    vlink = "#800080"
    before your xml starts.

  • Photo gallery problem

I volunteered to build a web site for a local community
centre. Part of the site includes a photo gallery for which I am

    Problem uploaded here
I have enabled a debug window so you can see the rendered
    SPRY code.
You will see that the thumbnails do not display properly nor
the default main image. Click the "Next" and "Previous" buttons and
you can see that the main images display properly. So I assume I am
having a problem with the path to the thumbnails but I can't find
    it.
This is driving me nuts. Any help will get you a friend for

  • Creating a photo gallery with upload feature.

I am making a photo gallery for my website. I think it would be cool to allow the upload of images to the server. I will make the gallery search for images in the folder on the server and display them, but that is not my problem. My problem is how to allow them to upload. I have been to many sites unnseccessfully. Are there any good tutorials on how to do this and how to make the server  side script. And, if possible, can i do it with out a script on the server?

    Welcome Alex  -
Any picture you display on your site can be saved to the visitor's computer.
If you ZIP each gallery, a simple link to the zipped archive will offer the visitor
an option to save to their computer.
