Google account not syncing

I recently added a google account to my Macbook Air ( Mavericks ) andteh account seems to be enables and all my contacts also appear in the "All Google" listing but this account does not seem to upload / sync to Google ? AM I missing a setting somewhere.

Well I checked that the latest IE I can have ith Win XP is 6 and I have that. It loks like the new software uses some techniques that IE doesn't or cannot control. So that is the end of that!
It will have to wait till this machine dies because I'm not updating a whole hardware and software system for one tatty piece of code.

  • Google Account BlackBerry Sync only works one way

Hey I just got my BB yesterday... I set up my Google Account on my BB and it downloaded all the data to my device. Then I set up an new Test-Contact and a Test-Appointment (calender) on my BB and it was synced to my google account... everything was fine... After that I set up another Test-Contact and Test-Appointment in my google account to check whether it would be synced to my BB... But that did not work at all... NOTHING WAS SYNCED... I waited for houres but it just would not sync the data to my BB... Same situation if I read or delete an Email in my google account the Email still appears as unread on my BB... But when I read one on my BB it appears as read on my google account... seems like sync is just working one way!
    Any ideas?

I'm still new with BB, using it as a loaner phone when my Android got waterlogged.  I have the same problem, sort of - in my case, I noticed with Emails that it takes a good amount of time for one read on the BB to show as read in my Gmail.  And it's the same the other way except maybe a tad faster.
But I'm not able to sync my google calendar any longer.  I read that google was dropping support for BB sync options sometime around 6/1/12, and somewhere in these support forums there's a thread on the topic, stating you can use your BIS account to get them to sync, and in looking for that thread I ran across your post.  If I find it, I'll come back and link to that thread.

  • Google Account Notes

I couldn't send out any emails with my google account and because nothing worked i ended up having to delete the whole google account. When i did that i lost all my notes that were synced with google. I need to get them back. If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it! Thanks.

Yes, I've been in System Preferences several times already
It tries to connect to a service that google do not gives, as Google is not tiscali. The message is "
Notes can't connect to the Google account "Tiscali"
I cannot eliminate Tiscali from Tiscali as delete is not enabled as is an account "handled from the cloud"
I do not have Tiscali as a provider, and if I add Tiscali as an email provider, in any case it will not be a notes provider, as tiscali is an email provider with POP
I believe this is because of  data migration between Lion & Mountain Lion, when Apple decided to eliminate certain osx functions of notes.
And, what I want is simple: just eliminate this Tiscali thing and use notes through iCloud that's the only thing Apple really supports.
iCloud: it just works (if you are lucky!)

  • Google Calendar not syncing

I've spent hours trying to solve this with no solution and it's a major problem for me and an actual dealbreaker, so I'd like to thank you all in advance for any help you're able to offer. I rely heavily on Google Calendar and have two Gmail accounts - work and a Google Business email account. I use multiple Calendars for both accounts, and none seem to be supported by BlackBerry 10. Personal Gmail
After trying many times, two things keep happening:
1.) When I enter my Gmail details, contacts and emails are fine. Calendar also appears on the list, but when I open up the calendar app, only the local Calendar is shown. The devcal settings are there and correct, but nothing appears. 2.) Sometimes when I re-add the Gmail account to try and resolve this issue, I get an error message saying that it cannot connect or authenticate with the server. Again, no calendar. Work Gmail
With my work gmail account, I don't even get as far as the steps above. When I enter my details (via the specified Gmail selection in 'create new account', I only get email. Also, my work gmail contacts (with the database of company emails) also aren't showing up, meaning I have to type each work email address out manually. This is a real deal breaker for me and I'd really appreciate any help or input if this is happening to anyone else. I know I know I'm not the only one with this problem: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/calendar/5KEecRbDrCQ/1Nma0GkzuKgJ and have similar problems on my PlayBook. IS Google Calendar simply not supported in BB10? Because that's really quite bad. Coupled with the bad Maps app makes this a real deal breaker, which is a massive shame as I like everything else about the Z10 and BB10. Thanks for the help.

    Hello all,
I just picked up a Z10 on Tuesday in Canada and, like the rest of you, could not sync my Google calendars to the Z10 with the default Gmail setup. The following is an explanation of how I managed to sync multiple Google calendars (all linked to the same email address).
First, I followed the instructions posted by Blackberry to connect to Gmail through Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. That took care of syncing up my contacts, emails, and my primary google calendar. I also have a work calendar and a Canadian Holiday calendar linked to the same email address and I wanted those available on my phone without adding a bunch of different accounts.
Next I followed these directions to sync up all of my google calendars. They are written for the Playbook, but it's the same process for the Z10. I also enabled "Delete Email as Trash", because when I click "delete email" I don't want to archive it, despite Google setting that as the default behaviour... Needless to say, piecing together this information was quite a task, and enabling multiple calendar sync is way more complicated than it should be. I have read that Google is not supporting new ActiveSync activations for free users, so this method may not work for people who have never used ActiveSync with Google. I'm not sure if the problem is on Blackberry's side or Google's, but this type of bug is probably only scaring new Blackberry users away. I hope that the issue is resolved soon.

  • Google calendar not syncing anymore with my BB and vice-versa

    Hi everyone!
A few days ago, I updated my BB curve 9360 to OS 7.1 and earlier today I noticed that my Google calendar was not syncing properly... Well wasn't syncing at all. However I received mails and was able to delete them correctly
First I noticed, that my email address was not registered as a calendar anymore. Then I tried to send service books which added my Google calendar as default calendar in my BlackBerry (good thing I guess).
But that's all it did. Now, when I add a new event in Google calendar using my BB, it doesn't sync with the Internet-based calendar and when I add a new event in Google calendar, it does not sync with my BB either (and I have waited more than 30 minutes).
So here is what I can do to try and solve this problem:
-Send service books one more time but I don't think it is very useful
-Delete my email account and setting it up once again
So I am completely lost because it has always worked until I updated my OS from 7.0 to 7.1. My data plan hasn't changed.
    Thank you for your help
    Regards,

    Hi ThomasDM,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
To resolve this issue with calendar synchronization, please try forcing a Gmail® synchronization on the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9360 smartphone. Before doing this could you please verify once more that your default calendar on the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9360 smartphone is still listed as your Gmail® account?
    1. Click the Menu key > Options > under Accounts click the Gmail® account > remove the Checkmark from Wireless Synchronization > click the Back menu key and Save
    2. Under Accounts click the Gmail® account > place a Checkmark in the Wireless Synchronization   box > click the Back menu key and Save
Note: The following prompt will appear " Some of your calendar changes might be lost. Enable wireless Calendar?" Yes or No. Click Yes
    Hope this helps.

  • Google Calendars not syncing to iPhone 6

As of about 3 days ago my google calendars stopped syncing to my iPhone 6 using iOS 8.1.1. I noticed some events were not syncing, going both directions. I removed Calendar Sync from my google gmail account, which deleted all of my google calendars for that account. Then I added calendar sync again. When I did that the calendars do not appear in my iOS calendars app. I've tried to refresh, i've deleted and added several times, but no calendars. I've even posted on the Google support page (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/calendar/ios/jmqloVY4LmQ). I can't find anything to say why I'm having this issue or how to correct it. I've added it using all of the recommendations from Google, using a google account, and I've selected my calendars to sync. But It's not even showing my primary calendar now. Please help!

I had the same problem, but read this after the downgrade opportunity expired.  After almost 2 months I figured it out.  I set up the Gmail/Google Calendar/Google Contacts on my iPhone as an Exchange Account many years ago.  Google discontinued this in 2013 for all new users, though it still worked for me (until Nov 17th).  Google now uses CardDAV for Contacts and CaIDAV for Calendar (since 2013).  They recommend using the Gmail app for their mail.  Here is a link on how to set up Gmail/Contacts/Google Calendar: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/3008051?hl=en
I did this yesterday and now everything works.  I was surprised that there weren't more complaints about the issue (I thought there must be hundreds of thousands of people affected) but most people probably have it set up using the newer method, which obviously wasn't affected by iOS 8.1.1

  • Google calendars not syncing

Hi folks.  Just got an iPhone 6.  Not my first iPhone by any means so I do know what I'm doing.  FOr some reason, my google calendar will not sync.  I've tried changing the settings on how much is being synced, I've deleted the entire google account and resynced but nothing is working.  Yes I've rebooted.  Help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Also just FYI.  When I go to the Calendars app, it does not show a Google Calendar entry there.

  • Secondary google calendars not syncing

    Hello!
I have been successfully syncing my gmail account (mail, contacts, and calendar) with my iphone for several years now.  Recently, my secondary calendars have stopped being able to be accessed through the native calendar app. I don't know why.
I've gone here: https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect?pli=1 and checked all of my calendars, but still only the main one syncs.  My company uses google calendar to keep track of my comings and goings, and they're going to make me switch to Android if I don't get this sorted out SOON!
    Thanks for any help!

    I figured it out.
If anyone happens to come here via a search, here's the answer:
I had set up my Gmail account in my phone as an "exchange" account so that it pushes the mail.  That was the problem with the calendar.  It only synced one calendar.
I just turned off the "calendar" part of my "exchange" account (gmail) and then added a second gmail account (not as exchange, but as Gmail) and chose to only sync the calendar.  This made the phone use exchange to push the email, and CalDAV to push all of my google calendars.
    That was complicated.

  • How can I add a Google account not connected to a GMail account to Messages in OSX Mountain Lion?

With iGoogle going offline soon, and being myself averse to using Google+ for social networking due to what I perceive as a blatant disregard for my privacy, I'm trying to save my few Gchat contacts, as I don't have many other ways to contact these specific people. However, I'm having trouble connecting my Gchat (or Google Talk if you prefer the term) to Messages. It doesn't recognize that my google account is tied to a verizon email address, not a gmail address, and refuses to acknowledge my password as correct (even though I typed it correctly at least five times trying).
I haven't seen anyone else having this problem, and I'd prefer to call customer support about this, but this seems to be the next best option.

    Hi,
iChat and Messages (and for that matter any other Jabber capable App) will not accept non Google Mail Google IDs as Google Talk IDs
When Google launched Google Talk it was only for those IDs issued under @googlemail.com or @gmail.com that were eligible.
Later they allowed other Google IDs to Chat but only from Web Browser Logins.
There was a period when they did seem to expand the non Googlemail IDs into the GoogleTalk fold for external apps to also allow access but this was dropped after a while.

  • Hotmail account not syncing properly

My hotmail account is not syncing properly with my iPhone - only the inbox folder is accessible and my calendar is not syncing with my iPad.  Suggestions??

To be quite honest, I have no idea if I created my Hotmail account as an Exchange account (and unsure how to check on this!)  However, I can tell you that my Hotmail inbox continues to update on my iPhone as I receive new emails.  I'm just not seeing the other folders (i.e. Junk folder and the personalized folders I've created).  Also, my calendar was previously working well.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure what has happend to change this.  Thanks for your response!

  • Z10 google contacts not syncing

I have synced my google contatcs with carddav on my new z10 and all my conatcts showed up within minutes. But now when I update any contact in google it doesn't get synced on the device. I tried deleting and re adding carddav account but all changes and contacts shows up once but doesnt take any changes thereafter.
I read lot of threads but seems like i am the only one facing this issue with google carddav.
    Can anybody please help

Does the missing contacts are in your My Contacts list? If it's not, the phone can't sync Google contacts outside of My Contacts list. If you want to sync those contacts that are not in the My Contacts to your phone, you need to move them to the My Contacts list.
If yes, please check your Google contacts for names that start with a non-alphabetic characters such as "@" or "*". This may have caused this sync issue. You need to delete any non-alphabetic characters that begin a contact name and synchronize again. The contacts should start with letters. If it still won't sync, you need to delete the Gmail account in your phone under prefs and accounts of contacts and add it again.

  • Mobile accounts not syncing at logout

    Hi guys,
We are experiencing some synchronisation issues when attempting to use mobile accounts for the first time at our school.
Synchronisation is only occurring at login and not at logout even though all options are selected under Rules>Home Sync in group preferences. Manual and scheduled syncing works ok.
    Points to note:
User accounts are hosted in AD with OD supplying managed preferences.
Home directories are stored on the mac server (Windows domain member) and shared/automounted via AFP.
The mac clients and server are running 10.6 and are fully up-to-date.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?

    Hi guys,
We've managed to get sync at logout working. Here's how:
-Add "/System/Library/CoreServices/ManagedClient.app" into the WGM Group Preferences Details tab.
-This adds additional preference manifests, one of them being "Home Sync".
-Modify the "Home Sync", "Always" settings by adding any item to the "Managed Preference Sync Items" array. We added the path to some necessary email config files stored in ~/Library.
Doing these steps, for some reason, enabled syncing at logout. Hopefully it'll work for you too.

  • Email account not syncing

    Hi,
I have a Godaddy email account I am trying to sync with Thunderbird on an iMac. Thunderbird found the account settings. I got an error message which does not fully appear on my mac screen. It says, "Alert from account... The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for acc..."
I called Godaddy and they verified all the information such as incoming and outgoing servers, port numbers, and SSL settings was accurate.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Tried the text message back up settings without success.  Ended up deleting the account and resetting up and, along with the below suggestion from the MS message board, it appears to have worked.  The error code I received was 80004005.
from MS - "go to Settings - date +time, setup manually/Auto-off. Then Soft Reset the phone and try again to sync; To perform the Soft Reset, please press the Power button down, hold, than slide down the message on the screen. The phone will switch off. Next please Turn On the phone back again.to turn the phone"

  • Google calendar not syncing now

    hi,
im really hoping for some help.
I have previously been syncing my calendar on my iphone 3g with google calendar. everything has been working fine
however, I have had to use a new computer to upgrade my software on my phone.
now i cant get my calendar to sync with the new computer.
all the settings on the phone are the same.
any help will be much appreciated
    thanks in advance

Which iTunes version? In case of version 8.2 the issue is not related to your new computer but a general bug related to the new iTunes version.
You shold be able to bypass the issue as follows:
The problem can be bypassed as follows:
    For Windows XP
Use the following path to find the program "gconsync.exe": C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin
    right-mouse-click on the file gconsync.exe
    choose "properties"
    click on the "compatibility" tab
activate the tick box "compatibility mode" and chose "Windows 98"
You're done! No re-start of your computer necessary, just connect your iPhone to your computer, start iTunes, and experience syncing to work again.

  • Exchange account not syncing deleted emails

Hey everyone, I have an iphone 3gs, updated to 4.3.3 and use an exchange account to receive my hotmail emails on my phone without using pop (I dont like the read once style of pop). The issue Im having is usually if I delete emails from the hotmail interface online it does not delete them from my iphone. It syncs that ive read an email fine, but not that ive deleted them. This is quite annoing as i now have over 1000 emails sitting there that i really do not want to delete individually. On that, if I delete them from my iphone they are delete from online as well. Anyone have any ideas?

I wrote this article on tips for trying to rectify this issue of the Outlook 2010 client itself
    http://www.bytemedev.com/outlook-2010-not-receiving-emails-while-activesynccitrix-clientowa-is/
#2 Usually does it for me.
1.) Verify network connectivity to Exchange from the machine (i.e. try pinging the box) or log into OWA.
2.) Fully Toggle Work Offline Mode.
*This means to Enable Work Offline from the Send/Receive Ribbon, shutting down Outlook (and Lync 201x as well), then launching Outlook, and then disabling Work Offline mode.
3.) Try turning it off and on again.
3.) Visit %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook and ensure OABs, RoamCache, ~xxxx.OST.TMP or ~xxxx.OST, are not in Read-Only mode, and avoid encrypting this folder (it isn’t Microsoft’s best practices.)
4.) Rebuild the OST by simply renaming the .OST to .OLD or some such, Outlook 2010 and Lync 201x have to be closed, then re-open Outlook 2010. This maybe needed for OST files several GBs in size. It’s very well documented and known to become unstable as size
    increases.
5.) Rebuild the email profile itself by utilizing Control Panel\Mail (32-bit).
6.) Attempt a Repair of Office 2010 (Go to Programs and Features, and right click Microsoft Office 2010 click Changes).
7.) Attempt an Uninstall / Re-install of Office 2010 (you may need your product key for this!)
8.) IF you have tried all steps above, a lot of people are completely at a loss. Not me, rebuild the Windows Profile itself. It obviously has some corruption in the registry, temp cache, cache, effective credentials and what not.
9.) When all else fails, reformat! This is the equivalent to a nuclear strike though, so use the right tool for the right job.
