Google Analytics site no longer works in Safari 5

I just updated to Safari 5 last week and have been having the same kind of issues that other people are posting here about slowness and inability to find servers and crashes etc.
My biggest issue now is that Google Analytics website no longer works. It worked just fine in Safari 4x and works fine in every other browser I've used on a Mac or PC. In Safari 5 part of the page loads and then a pink rectangle appears at the top center of the page that says:
"This page has encountered an error that may prevent it from working correctly."
The box has an X to close it but that's it. I have never seen this type of error appear on any other website, either using Safari 4 or 5.
I really need this site for my business. And I'm not interested in changing to Firefox or some other browser.
I have also just purchased the upgrade to Snow Leopard but have not installed it yet.
Has anyone else found this error message in Safari 5 and have any advice?
Thanks!

Here is another update, I have tried the following:
Removed all internet plugins
Reset Permissions
Deleted all Google cookies
After resetting permissions, S5 is running faster and seems normal again but Google Analytics site still will not work! Still getting the same pink error message.

  • Google Application Links No Longer Work in Safari

    Hello,
It seems something is up. Google application and profile links no longer work in Safari 7.0. I downloaded Chrome for OS X and they work perfectly fine in that. So is it Google trying to gain more share of the browser market by modifying there code or is it a Safari update that recently broke the functionality? All I know is I have had to download a different browser to get my google mail working.
If you want to test, go to your gmail and try to click the google applications icon near the top right. Nothing will happen in the latest Safari. Now try it again in Chrome and guess what! This used to work perfectly. More importantly is the profile icon (far top right, usually your picture) which allows you to login/logout/switch google mail accounts also will not work at all which makes it impossible to use this with Safari.
Apple you may want to track down what changed as this will impact your browser's market share if its is not fixed asap. I will come back and try Safari again in a week and see if they have fixed anything. For now, sadly its off to Chrome for me.
If you would like me to provide any diagnostic information I am more than happy to assist in this matter.

    Hilarious,
Its a Safari bug. Go fullscreen and the icons work fine. Now go back to non-fullscreen and they dont work.
    Apple..... ho..... Apple?????
    Time for a fix......

  • HELP!!!! My Hotmail no longer works with Safari v. 5.0.6 and my Imac Leopard operating system 10.5.8.  Please help me with any suggestions on what to do.  Thank you.

HELP!!!! My Hotmail no longer works with Safari v. 5.0.6 and my Imac Leopard operating system 10.5.8.  Please help me with any suggestions on what to do.  Thank you.  I cannot find any new downloads for Safari that work with Leopard.  The newest ones only work with Lion.  My Firefox browser still works though but I would rather use Safari and cannot access any e-mails or send any e-mails via Safari.  This happened about 3 weeks ago and I thought it was just a glitch on Hotmail's site.  Now I realize Hotmail must have released an update that no longer works with Leopard 10.5.8.  PLEASE HELP ME!!!!  Thanks to anyone and everyone who reads this and attempts to help me.  I do not know what to do....

    Hi Sue,
What exactly happens when trying Safari?
They did change it to Outlook recently, but while not pretty, I can access mine with Safari 4.0 still...
You can also set it up in Mail so you don't need a browser at all if you want.

  • Google news buttons no longer working

I'm still having some problems with Google News that I asked about in an earlier question (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/947273)
In Firefox 18 and 19, the buttons to expand / contract the news items on http://news.google.com/ are no longer work (and some no longer show up).
A similar issue was (supposedly) fixed as referenced in this thread:
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2576447
But the fix (and workarounds) do not seem to work.
The only way I've found to cure the problem is to change the cookie policy:
    network.cookie.lifetimePolicy set to 1
but that changes my settings to normal (always allow cookies until they expire) instead of to ask me every time.
Any ideas on how to make it work properly or to track down what else should be changed?

Then you will have to stay with that setting and having cookies behave as session cookies (Keep until: I close Firefox) isn't sufficient then you can look on the Add-ons site for a cookie manager extension.
Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox.
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
Make an Allow exception for the ones that you want to keep.
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
You can inspect and modify the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions" and on the about:permissions page.

If you look at the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads. It appears you are not the only two having this problem.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Why is  siriusxm  suddenly no longer working on safari?

Why is  Siriusxm  suddenly no longer working on safari?

Here are some suggestions for getting the best results from this site.
Create a user profile that accurately reflects the type of hardware you're using and your version of OS X, or include that information in your first message.
Give details of the problem. A statement such as "it doesn't work" conveys no information. If it did work, you wouldn't be here. Instead, you should post something like this: "I did A; I was expecting B; but I got C instead." Include the complete text of any error messages you saw and where you saw them: in an application window, a CrashReporter window, a log, or whatever. Also include the steps you’ve taken yourself, if any, to try to resolve the issue. If the problem is of recent origin, did you make any changes to your setup just before you first noticed it? Is the problem reproducible or intermittent? That is, does it always manifest itself when you take a certain action, or only at unpredictable times?
Before posting, ask yourself whether it’s likely that you are the the only person ever to have had this problem. If not, search the discussions for answered questions similar to yours. If you found any pertinent information, but it didn't help, include details.

  • Spell check no longer works in Safari after iOS5 update

After updating to iOS5 on my iPad2 yesterday, the spell check feature no longer works in Safari when using the Apple Wireless Keyboard.  It works in all the other applications I've tried, such as Pages and Mail.  It's a real bummer, especially if writing a blog.  Any help or suggestions?  Spell check worked fine before the update.  (Spell check still works in Safari with the on-screen keyboard, just not with the Apple Wireless Keyboard - Safari seems to be the only application effected so far)  Thank you.

Update: After rebooting my macbook - Moves now playing. TV shows bought using a different apple ID account still does not work even though they did before.

  • The "new" hotmail no longer works with safari, but works with firefox. Hmm.

The "new" hotmail no longer works with safari, but works with firefox. Hmm. i find this very convenient being a microsoft product. anybody else wonder why this new version happens to not be safari compatible? does anybody know if it works on the PC version of safari? if not, i find this to be a blatant move on microsofts part to bias the safari browser (especially since its basicly new on the window platform). forcing safari/hotmail users to "have" to use another browser to access their hotmail accounts.

I have been successfully using Hotmail and Gmail with Safari for a long time. For roughly the past month, that relationship is rocky at best. At times, one of the following actions suddenly opens Hotmail, but it is a short-lived solution:
    (a) Hotmail directly
    (b) Hotmail Home>Hotmail
    (c) Sign up to Windows Hotmail
    (d) Deletion of prescribed cookies, resetting, etc. - made no difference
Both Firefox and Opera work fine with Hotmail - especially Opera is very fast.
In addition, Safari and Gmail does not work with Attachments, but otherwise Gmail is OK.
I suspect I have to wait for a Safari fix because in my case I do not wish to abandon Hotmail, and Safari is a given. I would think that Safari would want to stay competitive with the two biggies, Hotmail and Gmail, which must have large numbers of users.
I certainly would appreciate any other suggested fixes.

  • Glims no longer works in safari 8 - Alternative?

Testing out 10.10 on a spare disk.
Glims does no longer work in Safari 8.  Are there alternatives?  I really miss for example the reopening of the tabs from a previous session among other things.

Another data point: this problem doesn't occur on any of the links on my gmail page.
(it does happen on this forum page)

  • Save as PDF no longer works in Safari in 10.5.1

Since this has to do with the printing interface I'm guessing this is where the post goes.
I found that saving a webpage as a pdf no longer works from Safari 3.0.4 in OS 10.5.1. The print dialog box won't go away after selecting save as pdf so you have to force quit Safari. It looks like the save dialog goes behind the print dialog and I can't get to it.
Anybody else have this issue? I found that other people were having printing of pdf problems, but I didn't see this one.
    -Dan

Never mind. Seems that Default Folder V 3.0.2 was causing the issue. I killed the Default Folder task and problem is gone. Time to buy an upgrade.

  • Just upgraded to Firefox 10. Google Finance charts no longer work. They do work in IE. Updated Adobe Flash player to latest. IE works. Firefox 10 doesn't.

Just upgraded to Firefox 10 on a Window7 64 bit PC. Google Finance charts no longer work. Checked the web for similar. Updated to latest compatible Adobe Flash player 32 bit as suggested. Flash player works. I can see finance charts in IE, but not Firefox 10. I can see finance charts on Yahoo in Firefox, but not Google finance charts. Main chart at google.com/finance is displayed. Individual stock charts don't.

  • I woke up this morning and google and gmail no longer work in firefox. I get the endless loop error

I woke up this morning and google and gmail no longer work in firefox. I get the endless loop error.
I have the latest version of firefox and it is running under win 7 pro.
it was working great since I installed it 3 weeks ago and I use it every day.
    the error reads:
    The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
However my cookies are still enabled and and i have never changed my settings

  • One particular flash site no longer works

Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 64 bit operating system
    IE9 using 32 bit browser
    Flash Player 11.1.102.55
The web site I am accessing is http://www.wonka.com/goldenticketgame
I have been to this website 47 times to enter a contest. Suddenly on December 3rd and after it will not load.
I have tried IE9, Chrome and Firefox. None of them work.
I have communicated with others who are still able to access the site on IE9 so it is not the website per se
There have been no changes to my system other than switching my Magic Jack phone from Magic Jack to Magic Jack plus and the latest windows updates.
I have uninstalled Adobe flash and reinstalled the latest version. Still does not work
So, does anyone have any suggestions as to why this site does not load on my system?
Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for the input but that didn't work. The site still begins to load but just hangs and never completes. I didn't think that was the solution since the problem began prior to my downloading anything. It just worked one day and not the next. So far, no problem with any other sites so I guess I'm just done with this one. I just hate it because it doesn't make any sense that it works one day and not the next when I haven't made any changes although I suppose it's possible that they made some change to the site that makes it not work on one operating system but it still works on another, though it doesn't work for me on IE9, Chrome or FirefoxDate: Mon, 5 Dec 2011 16:24:54 -0700

  • Google site blocking not working in Safari

The feature that lets us block all Google search results from specific sites, such as content farms, has stopped working in Safari although it does work in Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, and Opera. Do I need to set some option to make it work, or is there something wrong with Safari?

Are you on the latest version?
yes, everything is up to date. it's odd that you can't see the image.

  • Google Services/Sites only sometimes work on Firefox

I also have been experiencing the same problem as the OP. Google services including Google Search, GMail, and YouTube are all intermittently inaccessible through the most recent version of firefox on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8. Additionally, sites that use Google APIs also hang (sometimes) when they try to load.
This is frustrating to me because I depend on these services for much of what I do on the web. It is especially frustrating because Firefox has been a dependable and useful browser for me for years. I have had to start using chrome as a workaround but would really prefer to stick with Firefox.
I have identified this problem as specific to firefox, as I have no issues with the Google services in Chrome or Safari. I am also always able to get normal pings to https://www.google.com and https://www.gmail.com through Network Utility on my Mac.
I have tried all of the above solutions including - clearing the cache and cookies (like a zillion times by now) - disabling and deleting all add-ons - starting firefox in safe mode - deleting firefox and reinstalling from a freshly downloaded dmg - manually deleting the user profile for firefox from Library - Changing the manual proxy setting to NO PROXY in firefox preferences - removing all trusted add-ons from firefox preferences - Pushing RESET in the about:config dialog - Resetting my modem/router
I tried to adjust the keyword setting in about:config but when i searched for it it was not present. I wonder if this is part of the problem.
Additionally I have removed the Auto-update files that google software like google earth use to call home to check for updates.
None of these have resolved the issue. I still can only sometimes access Google services using firefox. If I am logged in to GMail using Firefox, i will at some point lose connection and be unable to reestablish the connection for an indeterminate period of time.
This problem has been going on longer than a week or two, maybe a month. I don't know what to do to resolve the issue.
I believe there must be something broken in the way Firefox handles requests for google sites that I have not yet been able to reset or change.
Please, if anyone has found an actual, permanent solution, respond to this thread.
    Thanks!
(this seems to be similar to the problem described in another Mozilla support thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/963648 )

as an update, I wanted to add that when firefox gets stuck, in the status bar at the bottom, it will usually say that it is trying to load ajax.googleapis.com (or something like that).
I have also started opening the console in firefox (cmd+opt+k) to watch the behavior of sites when they load. Under the network tab in console, google type sites will take 76000+ ms to load. i am only beginning to use the console and don't know exactly what to do with it yet, so i will be experimenting and updating as i learn more.
if i experience a loading hang with a google site in firefox, clearing the cache/history does not work. however, it seems like if i quit and restart firefox, the google site will then load. i am unsure whether this "clears" something in the browser or just gives the connection enough time to fix whatever is causing the hang.
other possibilities: in console it seemed like one of the delayed site attributes was a javascript from google (a .js file) - it took 70000+ ms to load. perhaps there is a problem with javascript?
