Google Autocomplete + Drop-Down Search History

I just updated to Firefox 4. Only one major problem.
I know all the methods to disable Google's automated AutoComplete function.
I've used them for years with Firefox.
The methods eliminated Google's search suggestions but retained everything I typed in the search engine (personal search history in drop-down box).
But now, after updating to FF4, every method to block AutoComplete now all-of-a-sudden blocks the typed-in searches (personal search history) from the drop-down menu.
The drop-down box of search terms I've typed is missing.
What can I do to re-enable the drop-down box of what I've typed in, while blocking the automated search suggestions?

That problem is listed as a known issue with the Google Toolbar.

hey i tried that before i posted this question... i tried all of the normal ways one would use to select more than one item...
any click of any kind at all takes you out of the search drop down & into the main itunes window... where you are deposited back into the songs alphabetically... no longer are you seeing the results of the search...
sigh
at the risk of sounding like one of those people, the "old" itunes did not have this problem...
grrrr... it seems to be that pesky drop down menu~ if only you could see the search results in the main list as opposed to only in the drop down thing

How do I remove the autocomplete drop-down menu from textboxs, not the awesome bar?

I like having the drop-down menu from the url, but the autocomplete option for textboxs within like when I type my username and it pops up with all of the ones that has been used on that site are really annoying. How do I get rid for the latter? I didn't have this before I upgraded to Firefox, and now I can't get rid of it. Fyi, I'm rather tech inept, don't use complicated comp sci words please!

You can use History > 'Clear Recent History" to clear already saved form data.

#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Can't click on drop-down search items

I have iTunes 11.1.4.62 on an HP Pavilion DV7 running Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit. iTunes used to work fine until a few updates ago. Whenever I search for something, lets say a song in my iTunes music library. The search results will drop-down, but nothing happens when I click on them. All I can do is hit enter to bring up what i'm looking for in the song list. I have discovered that if I run iTunes with administrator priveleges it will allow me to click on the search results. But it is tiring and annoying to have to do this every time I open iTunes. How do I fix this so it works all the time?

Google account drop-down menu is not working

When I go to click my google account name in the top right of gmail, the drop-down menu that lists all of my accounts is not showing up when I click, this is a problem because I cannot access my school gmail.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

I am trying to create a drop dpwn serch with muiltiple items,
we have a website were we carry about 90,000 parts and we want ppl
to be able to serch by there car model and stuff. Here is an

Each drop down list is actually in a separate form
When a selection is made in list one the form submits
and list 2 gets it's options from the resulting query. The
same
for list 3
This is typical for populating lists dynamically and involves
more than one table, in a database.
although not to complex in nature it will require scripting
skills
in your language choice, either asp, php or cf.

How do you clear the Google pull-down search history in Safari?

On the earlier Safari there was a "Clear Searches" option in the pulldown fromt he Google search field. It's gone with the new Safari. Any help is appreciated!

With 4.0.1 I can no longer click on Google's drop down menu

Since I got my upgrade, when I try to click on the dropdown menu in the Google toolbar to return to a previous search, nothing happens. This is very annoying and like a previous questioner I would like to go back to my earlier version of Firefox - I cannot see any advantages of this one - but that does not seem to be an option.

Right click the Back or Forward buttons to get a list of the sites you visited previously.

If you'd still prefer to go back to the previous version, do the following.

Drop down search fields

Is there anyway to search a populated dropdown list for items without having to type the letter in order?
For example:
My dropdown list is filled with
ABC
CBA
SSA
Currently if I type A first in the dropdown list only the ABC result will show not the CBA or SSA eventhough they have it in there structure. How can I make so that when I type A all three will show?

takes an extra click.what if i am surfing amazon ? making choices a visual self evident protocol is always simpler in the long run.some people tend to be a bit dyslexic .its not a fear .some refer to it as muscle memory .i play the guitar today in E tuning and now it is in D tuning .some things just work fine .leave it alone! create a option to change ;not a mandatory one!

Google search history not private?

Hello, I'm receiving my friend's google search history on my iPhone. The problem started about two weeks ago.
When the search history first appeared on my device, I realized it was hers.
First of all: she asked for my apple ID to download some apps on her first iPhone (whats'app and facebook) because she couldn't get an apple ID right away. Then she logged out. (i've also changed my password)
Then, I helped her create her apple ID, and she asked for my email address (outlook account) to set it as a secondary account to recover her password in case she lost it. (She's using a google account as a primary account).
When I received apple's e-mail, I didn't verified the account, because I was guessing that could have been the problem. (It didn't stop)
Another thing I did, was to share a personal hot spot with her,cause she didn't have internet access (i'm sure this is not the reason, but just in case...)
I don't understand why I'm able to see every single thing she googles, I find it annoying and also I feel like I'm invading her privacy, this should never happen!
Please, help me solve this!

My problem is, that I simply can't figure out how to clear Google search history from Google search field. I tried reinstalling Safari but records still seem to occour and obviously tend to be stored at some other place on my computer than Safari's deafalt folder (as they remain). Other help suggestion including that one with some com.apple.Safary.plist did not particularly work, I s'pose cause I have Vista not Mac
Does anybody have some smart hints?

I am using Firefox 32.0.3. There used to be a drop down search engine menu on Firefox. Has it been removed from the latest version or is there some settings adjustment I can make to get it back? Thanks for any feedback.

Hi brianvt, if you find the new design less productive, it is possible to switch back to the old search bar. Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''search''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.search.showOneOffButtons''' preference to switch it from true to false
This doesn't affect the current window, but each new window you open (Ctrl+n) will have the old Search bar.

All drop down lists flicker on and off while typing or right clicking.

All drop down lists in Firefox, whether it's the menu drop downs, the autocomplete drop downs in the URL bar or the Search field, or even autocomplete drop downs in website form fields, flicker on and off as I type, or when I'm right clicking a link to open in new window or trying to copy a link. I can sometimes get what I want by waiting for it to flicker on and clicking at just the right moment, but it often doesn't work at all. I have a fresh install of Firefox 13.0.1 with no running add ins, plugins or other 3rd party tools. (The troubleshooting info says I have the Adobe Create PDF Extension enabled, but it's not)
None of the suggested fixes I've found in the forums seem to apply here, cause they're all related to add-ins that I don't have.
Any other ideas?
