all other web browsers when i use on my net book show full web page but with Firefox i have to scroll side ways cant see full width of page sometimes Firefox will show full page but this is not often are the settings in Firefox to help this problem i have the latest version of Firefox 4.0.1

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

The new update has screwed up my browser settings, I cannot get them fixed and Im pissed because my computer is an eye-sore to read until this is fixed! EVERYTHING in the browser is smaller, fonts, menus, icons, web page content, pictures, tables, etc. I have set the minimum font in the settings and the text is just to a point where it is easily readable at the maximum size setting, but all the menus and icons are still tiny and hard to read. If it's happening on all sites, then assuming that it's Safari that you're using, have you tried clearing it's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (other browsers should have similar options, possibly within the actual app instead of within Settings). You could also try closing the app completely : from the home screen double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app (or whichever browser you're using) to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it's only happening on a particular site then there may be content on that site that isn't supported on the iPad e.g. flash, java, silverlight

Since upgrading to FF6 and now through FF7 web pages need repeated refreshing to load this does not happen with other browsers. I have tried many solutions. None have worked. Any ideas?

Problem began after a Firefox 6 update (i do not remember which one) and has continued through current use of Firefox 7.0.1. Almost all '''web pages load only through repeated refreshing'''. If I do not refresh the web page it will just continue to try to load (as seen by the green rotating ring continually revolving) in a new window with a new tab (as I have set it to do). Nothing stops, nothing crashes. Once the web page completes and opens (after the refreshings) I can close the window click on the bookmark icon or originating link and the web page will load and open quickly (as it should). I have searched for solutions on the Mozilla site and have done many of the possible solutions (deleting history and caches, etc.) Problem seems to be communication in origin (my FF browser talking to web page server). I do not use a proxy. My set up to the internet is: laptop thru Verizon USB modem to internet. Operates as a wireless dial-up with speeds averaging 55 kbs (fast enough for me). I have used this set up for years with no previous trouble. Anyone have similar trouble, ideas or solutions?

Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

After upgrading to 8.0 the add-on compatability tool runs and the Getting Started web page loads every time the browser starts.

After upgrading to 8.0 from 7.0.1 every time I start FF I get the add-on compatibility tool to run and the Getting Started web page loads along with my homepage in separate tabs as well. So far I have tried running the installer again, disabling all add-0ns and custom settings and restarting and turning off automatic updates. Nothing worked there. I got the same behavior each time. I don't know what else to try other than a full uninstall and reinstall. Something I'd like to avoid if it's possible because of the time involved. This is the second time I have posted regarding this issue. The first time I didn't get a response. A solution or a possible workaround would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows of any. As a staff member and a global forum moderator for an anti-virus company I understand how hectic things can be at times but some feedback, good or bad, on this issue would be very welcomed! Hi michaell, thanks for the reply. I tried everything in the Preferences are not saved link you provided and nothing worked there. If creating a new profile will delete all my add-ons and custom settings I might as well just do a complete uninstall and reinstall. That actually would be easier. That article told me how to save my bookmarks though so I don't have to loose those which is nice. I don't know if this makes any difference but there is a discrepancy between the preference file in the article which is: prefs.js and what's showing on my PC which is: prefs with no .js suffix. I tried to rename the file to prefs.js and restarted. No luck there either. It just created another prefs file. I guess we've pretty much exhausted all the avenues to try! Adobe has been trying this and the product is called Muse ( Web design software | Download free Adobe Muse CC trial ). It doesn't give you the control over the code that most developers prefer but it could help bridge the gap for design if that is what you are looking for.

Quit/close all apps and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can try this as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I have a problem with Safari on my iMac where parts of a foreign site are showing on web pages I bring up. I also run Firefox on the same computer with no such problem. Two malware programs have not found any problem that is relevant to or resolves the issue. Failing any other course that may fix this I am wondering if it is possible to replace Safari. Is there any way to do this? I have recently installed Yosemite, but I doubt that has any relevance.

Please understand, I am no geek. I am not wanting to change my default browser. My question may have been a little vague but what I wanted to know was whether (failing everything else) it was possible to delete Safari altogether and then reinstall a new one (Safari) somehow. I would think that may well get rid of the problem when it isn't a factor at all when I switch to using Firefox (which is also installed on my Mac). As for the AdBlock, I'd prefer to avoid that if possible.

Flash Controls Not Showing On Web Page

Hi-
Been beating my head lately using Flash Pro 8 and DW 8.02.
Here is the latest difficulty:
Created a Flash video file in Premiere Elements 4
Imported the .flv Flash video file into Flash 8 using import
video
Added an external skin to the video
Saved Flash .fla file
Exported movie in .swf format
I can open the .swf file in Flash Player 8 and it works fine.
I can also use the Publish setting in Flash to export the necessary
files as well as the HTML file. When viewed in either Firefox or IE
it plays correctly and the player controls are present. However, if
I create a new page in DW8 and then Insert > Media > Flash,
point it to the .swf file and then view it in Firefox or IE I can
only see the .flv Flash video file and none of the controls/skin
that should be there. I know the controls/skin are actually present
because I can browse directly to the .swf file and it displays
works properly. I can also use the publish settings from Flash to
create the HTML page and it works correctly as well. It is only
when the page is generated by DW8 that I get this problem. I have
looked at the code created by DW8 and cannot find any reference to
the .swf file for the movie controls/skin. Any idea why DW8 would
only be placing the Flash video .flv file on the page and not
writing the code to place the entire Flash movie .swf on the page?
I have tried restarting/rebooting, created a new "clean" test page
with only the Flash movie on it and it is always the same. The
other thing that is weird is I did not select Autoplay or Loop in
the DW8 settings nor in Flash 8, yet when I preview the page
created by DW8 in a browser, piece of the Flash movie I can see
(the Flash video part) autoplays and loops!
Again, any help is appreciated.

Update- This is what I have discovered while playing around
with the page and Flash file:
If I create the .swf files for the movie and skin and then
save them to the same directory as the .Flash video file and then
view the .swf file everything works fine.
If I then create a web page using DW8 and insert the Flash
into the page and save the web page to the exact same directory as
all the other files and then view the web page in a browser, it
works fine. However, if I create a new web page in DW8, save it to
any other directory other than the one where the .swf and .flv
files are located and then view the page in a browser only the .flv
Flash video portion of the movie will display in the browser--the
controls are missing. However, if I browse directly to the .swf
file and avoid going through the DW8 generated web page the Flash
movie displays properly with the controls in the correct location.
My question then is why will DW8 not show the Flash movie with
controls if the page is located in higher level directory than the
.swf and .flv files and yet browsing directly to the .swf file with
my browser works just fine? I have checked the path to the .swf
file in the DW8 source code and it is pointing to the correct
directory location. This is so strange--why will it display one way
and not the other? Any ideas?
