Google Calendar: A DISASTER!!!

Hello, I configured my google cal on my q10 and the results were a freezing of the cal app, a overheating till 39 degrees and a battery draining of 1 point every 2 minutes. Obviously with no oportunity to see my appointments on the bb. I deleted it and I'm without calendar synched now. And the BB works perfectly.
I followed all the infos I read on various forum (delete account, re-config as card-dav, del local cal, cghange server from google.com to event/mail etc etc) but no results.
I have firmware 10.1.0.4181.
BB Expert please help with a concrete solution, otherwise i'll have to definetely dismiss the BB because i need my agenda (I'm using calengoo on the bb but it's ridicolous for a device Ipaid 700 euros).
Thanx in advance.
Riccardo

Anyone can help me?
Thank you.

  • Multiple Google calendars on one account no longer sync with Palm Pre

Since the WebOS update in early Sept., the multiple Google Calendars that I own and which appeared on my Pre have disappeared.  I'm left only with the default account calendar.  The calendars which had appeared on the phone are still there in the pull-down menu on the upper right, so if I CREATE an event in a calendar on the phone, it's pushed to Google and then to my desktop calendar (iCal).  However, events which I create in different Google calendars are NOT pushed to my Pre.  This makes the Pre more than useless.  The best feature was Synergy and now it's broken.
I can work around by copying each event (I teach college and each subject's course calendar is listed publicly so that students can subscribe, and I can keep track of multiple subject due dates) to my default account.  That means that I have duplicate events listed in different calendars on Google, but only one event gets pushed to the Pre.  The other workaround is to use the browser to check my Google calendar, but it's not as convenient as using the calendar function of the phone.  And, where's the Synergy???
I really need a solution.  Before the update, the multiple Google calendar events all appeared on my phone and desktop and Google and I was very happy.  I hate this new situation.

Hello Sdswmr and welcome to the Palm forums.
I'm not seeing this issue on my Pre with webOS 1.4.5 installed.  If I create a calendar event, and select one of my other Google Calendars, that event is pushed to the correct calendar and I see it in Apple's iCal.  Similarly, if I create a new event in iCal, it shows up correctly on my Pre.
Have you tried removing all of your Google accounts and readding them?  What other troubleshooting have you done?

  • View wife's Google calendar in iCal

I have a bit of an unusual situation that I can't quite figure out. I use MobileMe, and all my calendars are on MobileMe so I can access them from iCal and my iPhone. I also have a Google account, but my Google calendar is empty. My wife, at her small business, has a Google calendar that should not be publicly shared, but has been shared with my Google account with read-only access. Is there any way that I can make that calendar show up in iCal, alongside my MobileMe calendars? (It'd be nice if I could see them on the iPhone as well.)

    Hi Thomas,
If you are already syncing your Google Calendar with CalDAV and have permission to view your wife's calendar in Google. Go to iCal Preferences > Accounts, select your Google Calendar > Delegation tab and check your wife's calendar.
    Best wishes

  • How do I manage Google calendar account to allow access to my iCal account?

In Delegation box I see message: "You can change who can access your account by clicking the Edit button". This is what I am trying to do, but when I click Edit, Page opens on Manage Account Access which remains blank. It won't recognise account in sidebar.
Message comes up: "Cannot enable access to your account ****@gmail was not found" "Search again for the user you want to add by typing their name and selecting one of the resulting choices." Bar below offers "Cancel" or "Search Again" No choice appears in the Manage Account Access page.
I can only access new google CalDAV account in sidebar by highlighting my own account below in same sidebar. It then appears in box: Accounts I can access:
I tick box under Show, Under 'Users' new account appears correctly,  but Privilege says "Read only".
I want it to allow "Read & Write". How do I set that up? Can you help? Thanks.

Many thanks for trying to help. I am afraid nothing works. I still don't know what to do: the Google Calendars page is set under the heading "Calendars I can view and modify" as Calendars with shared edit settings. These show two gmail calendars. No iCal. When I follow instructions to Get started with CalDav I get the same problem every time.
On the Delegation page when I click my gmail account in the sidebar the other account appears as "read only". I cannot edit to allow access to other account.
I can see other account's entries on my iCal Calendar. But I can't edit or add to them. Other account has no access, cannot view or edit my iCal Calendars at all on his gmail account.
When I click on the other account in the sidebar I get message mentioned before: "Cannot enable access to your account ****@gmail was not found" "Search again for the user you want to add by typing their name and selecting one of the resulting choices." Bar below offers "Cancel" or "Search Again" which repeats whole procedure without success.
    Would be grateful for help.

how do you add a google calendar to muse web site, that updates are synced?

You can add Google Calender using iframe which Google provides if you go to calender settings.
Once you insert this code in Muse page through Object > Insert HTML , the calender will be displayed on page.

  • My Google Calendar will not show up on iPhone 4S with iOS 7.1.1. What do?

I just got an iPhone 4S (bougtt used through a third party, in case it may make a difference) and I'm having issues connecting Google's calendar.
    I've followed instructions here: http://michaelhyatt.com/how-to-setup-google-calendar-on-your-iphone-4.html;
    here: http://www.craigbailey.net/google-calendars-not-showing-in-ios7/
    and of course, here: https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/139206?hl=en
But so far, nothing has worked.
I should note that I can see the account itself under the Mail, Contacts, Calendars tab, the Calendars option is switched on and all other Google features (e.g. Gmail, notes and contacts) are operating fine. I also have an iPad mini which I bought in June 2013 (first hand) and has been displaying Google Calendar without any issues from Day 1. I've compared the settings on both devices and could not find any difference.
In short, I'm at a complete loss here and would greatly appreciate some help.

Same issue when I try to select the most recently taken photo thumbnail, bottom left: freezes.Problem is fairly recent, I don't think it ever happened before the last update.

I am trying to share calendars with my husband (using Google calendars). He can see my calendars, but I am having trouble seeing his. We both use iPhones. We both have company email addresses. I have had to install and uninstall my gmail info on my iPhone multiple times due to errors sending and receiving emails from my company email address on my phone. For some reason, all of my emails are getting stuck in my outbox when my gmail account is installed on my phone. When I delete it, my emails get sent automatically. This is really annoying! I would do without the gmail account, but I need to share calendars with my husband. How do I fix this?

If you have two-step verification turned on in your email account, you'll have to log in with a browser and turn it off.

I assume that there are legal restrictions on the way in which iTunes can get artwork automatically from any source apart from the iTunes Store (which is what the right-click > Get Album Artwork function uses).  For example, even though the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to match CDs and retrieve metadata (artist, album, track titles, etc.) also has artwork functions, iTunes does not make use of these.
For manual addition of artwork, there are three cases where the image you select may not be correctly embedded in your media files:
your media are in a format that doesn't accommodate embedded artwork - typically WAV files.  To embed artwork you'll need to convert to another format - Apple Lossless or AIFF if you want to preserve lossless quality, AAC or MP3 otherwise.
your media files are read only - to fix this, use Windows Explorer to find the folder that contains your files, right-click and select Properties.  On the General tab there's a check box labeled "Read-only" - if this is checked, or is grey (sometimes blue), click the box so that the flag is unchecked and the box is white.  Click OK, and then OK again when the "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" option selected.  Now try adding the artwork again.
Windows permissions issues are preventing iTunes from updating your media files (there's some anecdotal evidence of a change in this behavior in iTunes 12).  See turingtest2's notes on Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows for advice on fixing this, then try adding the artwork again.

  • Syncing iPad iPhone iMac with Google Calendar, everything you want to know

Ok Guys, I just spent the last 4 hours going nuts with experimentations, trials and errors, and I finally think I figured it out, so bear with me here because it's not that simple. And excuse me for the poor english, I'm from Brazil.
Ok, in the iMac you're gonna set up a CalDAV account with your google login/password. It will work flawlessly and you won't have any problems, it will always update the google calendar and be updated by it. Just remember to use CMD+R to refresh it whenever you want, so you don't have to wait the 15 minutes or whatever you set in preferences.
Now let's talk iPad and iPhone. First of all, you have 2 options to sync calendars with Google, you can use protocol CalDAV or protocol Exchange.
Google's setup instructions for CalDAV (both iPhone and iPad) is here: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=151674
The instructions for both iPhone and iPad for Exchange is here:
    http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740
(just be sure to select calendar only, cause I'm assuming you're using IMAP or other protocol for mail and contacts).
The main difference between CalDAV and Exchange is that Exchange supports push updates, wich is instant, while with CalDAV you have to fetch manually (every time you open the calendar app) or another time setting (like 15 min, one hour, etc).
Well, my experiences revealed that the iPhone and the iPad will sync flawlessly with Google Calendar and the iMac, without any problems, BUT as long as you use Exchange AND Push to update the calendars (CalDAV doesn't support Push, and you need Push so the iPad sync works).
Let me repeat that: IF and ONLY IF you have BOTH Exchange protocol configured and PUSH enabled iPad and iPhone will sync flawlessly. But many people (me included) dont want to use push because a) it has a battery hit b) they don't need instant updates c) it consumes cellular data when you're not on Wifi, and if you don't have an unlimited plan that's not good.
So, if you TURN OFF PUSH with Exchange sync, the iPad will stop syncing properly. Curiously, the iPhone will continue syncing properly.
What I discovered is that, on the iPad, doesn't matter if you use CalDAV or Exchange, the moment you turn OFF push notifications it won't sync manually anymore. And by that I mean that with push off the iPad will not refresh calendar data when you open the calendar app (as it should since push is off and manual fetch is selected).
To sum it up, I discovred that with push OFF in both the iPad and the iPhone (either with Exchange or CalDAV):
    - The iPhone will update both google calendar and the iMac;
    - The iphone will be updated by both google calendar and the iMac and events created in the iPad;
    - The iPad will NOT be updated when you open the calendar app, so it won't see any changes made either on the iPhone, iPad or Google Calendar, but when you create new events in the iPad you will see the data icon spinning so it will send that event to the other 3, but it will not recieve anything.
On macrumors forum people discovered that on the iPad, if you open your calendar, close it, change settings from manually fetch to 15 minutes or whatever, it will sync the next time you open your calendar. But it's unreliable (doesn't work every time), not to mention that you won't want to do that every time you need to sync your calendar !
What about the iPhone ? Well, in my experiences I found out that it doesn't matter if you use Exchange OR CalDAV, it will manually sync with push off every time you open the calendar app. Just a sidenote: the iPhone wasn't manually refreshing with push off as well, just like the iPad, but as soon as I rebooted it started to sync manually every single time and it has been so far. But the iPad didn't sync manually every time even after I rebooted it.
To end it all, how to know if the calendar is manually syncing with Push OFF ? Well, just open the calendar app and after 5 seconds you should see the data spinning logo right next to the 3G or Wifi icon in the status bar. It must happen EVERY time you open the calendar app (you don't even need to force quit the calendar app for it to happen, it must happen every time you hit home and then open the calendar again). If it's not spinning (recieving data) 5 seconds after you opened the calendar app, it's not manually syncing, so on the iPhone you should reboot and on the iPad there's no fix I found so far (besides the unreliable fix of chaning the fetch time like I said before).
Oh, I did all these tests with an iPhone 3GS running iOS4 (don't complain it's not 4.2.1, cause the iPhone IS working, the problem is with the iPad), and an iPad running 4.2.1.
I just hope this thread gets attention because It almost drove me nuts to figure out all these things.
    Cheers,
    Felipe Raul

An update: I am seeing the CalDAV account sync more frequently than the 15 minute interval I have Fetch set to, sometimes as soon as 5-6 minutes. This is however going in/out of the calendar app multiple times... Every once in a which it will update.
I've found no pattern as to what triggers the sync. It doesn't seem to matter if I go into another app or not, or whether I close out the calendar app from the task menu. It's just totally random.
You might say, "what's wrong with just letting it fetch every 15 minutes as it is schedule to do?" Well, most of the time this would be ok, but there are occasionally moments when a decision must be made and an up-to-the-minute current accurate calendar is required for this to happen.
At this point, I'm going to have to keep my priority/vital calendars syncing via Exchange/push, and use CalDAV/push for the less vital calendars and at least have control over calendar colors with those.
Also, just wanted to mention that all the above testing has been over a stable wifi connection, rather than 3G or Edge, in case it makes a difference. (I don't think it does.)

  • Google Calendar and Google Contacts

On a previous Android phone (T-Mobile's G2), there were two apps, Google Calendar and Google Contacts. When I first got the Incredble 2 in June, I thought I remembered seeing a Google Calendar app, but now it is no longer there.
I'm interested in the Google Calendar app because I'm wondering if my syncing issues (see earlier post) is related to this? (Verizon's Calendar app is not syncing phone created events to my Google calendar).
    Thanks.
