Google Calendar delegates being listed twice

About two months ago this problem started happening. I have several google calendars that I access with MacOS Calendar (Mountain Lion).
As usual, the main calendar shows up under "GMail" in the sidebar and all the other sshow up under "Delegates". But recently, all the calendars in delegates have also been showing up under "GMail", creating duplicate event entries in the calendar view. This happens intermitently. It will just appear and disappear periodically. Everytime it happens, I need to unselect all the calendars under 'Gmail' so I don't see the duplicates, then after a while they will disappear altogether, then reappear later, selected.
Anyone else seeing this? Any solution?
Geoff
p.s. I find the Google calendar support pretty flaky in general. Get a lot of server errors here and there, and find the whole way "delegates" to be handled is very cumborsome, curiously much more complicated than in calendar.google.com.

Are you seeing the double calendar problem on iOS? I'm not. I think the architecture is different on iOS because it doesn't require the Delegates setup that iCal/Calendar on Mac OS requires to access multiple calendars. I proposed BusyCal as a solution to the Mac iCal/Calendar issues before I heard that Google was making changes to their calendar service, apparently to remove the need for delegates...
https://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/d/msg/calendar/-/tgyr5MbVYS0 J
This would be a nice improvement, but it appears that the production rollout of this change has caused serious problems that have been wreaking havoc on users for a couple of weeks now. In addition to the double calendars appearing and disappearing, I also cannot create alerts from Mac iCal/Calendar. I'm not seeing either of these problems on iOS Calendars (an iPhone running iOS 6 and an iPad running iOS 5.) I also do not have either of these problems with the Google Calendar Website.
I'd love to hear from anyone who uses BusyCal, to know if they're seeing either of these problems. There is a trial version at http://www.busymac.com/busycal/ which I'm going to try when I get a little time to mess with it. I'd buy it (it's only $30), but I'm really fine with iCal/Calendar... if it would just work. The fixes and improvements in Calendar on Mt Lion are a solid step in the right direction, so I'm hopeful in the long term.

  • Problems syncing new google calendar delegates to iPhone 3

I got a iPhone 3 a few months ago and had no problem setting up calendar so that all of my google calendar delegates are visible in both iCal and on my iPhone. I haven't had any problems with getting events to update on all of my calendars regardless of which program I use to create/ edit the event, until now. I recently created a new google calendar delegate. I can access the delegate in both iCal and on google but for some reason I can't get the new delegate to sync to my iPhone. I've tried to edit the settings in all of the programs, i've edited events on the new calendar on google on my iPhone, on my computer and on iCal but I still can't get it to show up in calendar on my iPhone. Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

I didn't know it was possible. How do I find an option to subscribe to a new calendar from within the iPhone? I've always subscribed via synching.

  • How can I stop my contacts from being listed twice in my contact list?

How can I stop contacts in my address book from being listed twice?

That usually happens if you sync your contacts with both a supported application on your computer and over the air with Exchange or iCloud. You do one or the other, not both at the same time. You need to provide more info in order to suggest a solution.

  • Google Calendar Delegates in iCal Not Syncing

    Hello Everyone.
I've been stumped on my issue for some time and have been researching but found nothing.
    OSX: 10.6.8
    iCal: 4.0.4
My boss uses google calendar.  I'm his assistant and he's shared that calendar with me so that I have access to it through my google account and I can add and delete events.
I like using iCal.  So I synced my iCal up with my google Calendar.  I used the calDAV method of syncing.  I can add and delete events to my calendar just fine.  I was able to add and delete events to my boss' calendar by creating a delegate calendar through iCal.  Everything worked fine.  However my boss added another calendar to his google account.  I didn't think this would have any effect on my ability to edit events as I simply set up my boss' new calendar as another delegate in iCal.
The problem now is that I cannot get either of my delegate accounts to sync.
I deleted my calDAV and started from scratch in iCal.  I added my googole account and delegates.  Everything works fine.  All of my boss' events load into my iCal but as soon I I try to edit one of them my delegate will no longer sync.
It seems like this should work and be easy but I cannot find a solution to keep my delegates syncing.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
I also have a mobileMe calDAV that syncs just fine with iCal.
    Thanks!
    -Drew

Similar problem here. I can select the delegate calendars within iCal, but it simply doesn't sync any events for the delegate calendars. I'm also returned an error if I try to manually subscribe to the calendars, e.g. using a direct link from the Google calendar settings.
Either way, I think it's all related to a known block Google have implemented to deal with an iCloud conflict. Keep an eye here for a solution...although it's been several months already obviously:

NB. The iPhone select solution will get things rolling on any iOS devices.

  • Syncing google calendar delegates on itouch

I had been using the gmail calendar and have several calendars on my gmail calendar besides the one attached to my gmail account. I was able to add those calendars to my ical on my apple laptop by creating "delegates." The calendar on my itouch syncs the gmail calendar from the ical on the laptop, but is not picking up the delegates. Any idea about how to get the ical on the itouch to access the "delegates" from my gmail calendar?
    Thanks

  • Ics import and google calendar events dissappear

I am importing an ics from edmodo into ical and selecting one of my google calendar delegates.  The event all populate then one by one start dissappearing soon after..  This also happens with my non google calendars.  Any ideas?

    Hello DavidPowell149,
If you can obtain the URL for the calendar, it can be subscribed to in iCal.
iCal 5.x: Subscribe to calendars and reminder lists
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4712
In iCal, choose Calendar > Subscribe.
Enter the web address for the calendar or reminder list you want to subscribe to, and then click Subscribe.
Type a name for the calendar or reminder list in the Name field and choose a color from the adjacent pop-up menu.
If you have an iCloud (or MobileMe) account, choose whether you want the calendar or reminder list to be located on that account. If you want to view a subscription calendar or reminder list in iCal and in the Calendar or Reminder app on devices with iOS 5 or later (iOS 4 or later for MobileMe) without resubscribing to it, choose your iCloud (or MobileMe) account.
If you want to receive any reminders or attachments, or hear any alarms associated with the calendar or reminder list, deselect the appropriate Remove checkboxes.
If you want iCal to update your copy of the calendar or reminder list when changes to it are published on the Internet, choose the update frequency from the “Auto-refresh” pop-up menu.
    Click OK.
A calendar you subscribed to appears in your Calendars pop-up list under the heading “Subscriptions.” To make changes to the calendar, click Calendars, select the calendar, and then choose Edit > Get Info.
    All the best,
    Allen

  • Apple loop listed twice in the loop browser

Can someone tell me why my apple loops are being listed twice in the loop browser?

I actually need help here too. Mine are listed twice but it is because they are on my drive in two places

Can I toss one of these or does GarageBand and Logic need to see these in different places?

  • Calendar will not sync with Exchange server or most Google Calendars

    Hi,
I am writing about my wife's brand new Samsung Charge on Verizon. We managed to setup both her gmail account and her work exchange server account fine, except for the calendars:
Her Google calendar shows up fine, but I am unable to even see any other Google calendars that she has access to (both her own secondary calendars as well as calendars that others have shared with her) in order to select them to be visible.
Her exchange calendar says it is enabled (on the list of available calendars), but no events at all show up.
This behavior is with the latest software updates on the Charge (2.2.1 firmware, I510.EE4 build) using its stock calendar software. I did notice that if I use Smooth Calendar, it does list all of her Google calendars under its listing of available calendars, but it still only shows data from her primary calendar. This is also true using the Touch Calendar app, which leads me to believe that there is some problem within the Google Calendar sync software that is not allowing her calendars to appear correctly.
    Thanks!

I see you have posted same post in another thread.  I have already replied to that posting with a solution.  Please see the following link for my reply:

  • Sync Google Calendars to iCloud

I am currently running OS X Lion and have activted an iCloud account. I recently purchased an iPhone 4s and have had success syncing my contacts between my MacBook, iPhone and iCloud account. I have also had success syncing my Google Calendar delegates between my MacBook, iPhone and work Mac (running snow Leopard).
The rub is I can't get the calendars to show up in iCloud. I have looked through the limited settings options and can't find anything to help.
Is there anything I can do to get all my devices to show the same calendars?
    Thanks in advance.

While it is true that the individual machines can sync with Google, iCloud cannot directly.
The reality is that while iCloud may be an excellent system for linking Apple products the truth is that Google Apps are available on more platforms.  Just like Apple systems can deal with almost any file system, Apple's iCloud should be able to sync with Google calanders and address book.   Many companies and schools use Google services for shared calendars and resources.  It would sure make sense to provide that as an additional service as well.  It wouldn't be any harder than implementing the sync and delegation methods already implemented in the standalone apps on the platforms.

  • IOS 7 iPad 2 Calendar not Syncing with Google Calendar

I recently updated my iPad 2 from ios 5.x to 7.0.4 and everything seems to be working fine... except the calendar. I went into settings, added my google account - which does not have 2-step verification - logged in normally, and made sure calendar sync was enabled. Calendar app did not show any of my calendars. I removed it, added it again; removed, rebooted, add, reboot; I made sure I am putting in the right account, contacts sync up correctly. I dont know whats wrong. I've waited a least 45 minutes for it to sync up - it didn't. Please help!
    Thanks!

  • Why are all contacts & calendar entries listed twice? Syncing Problems?

    Hello,
I am synching my iPhone 4S with iCloud (push) and also with cable connections.
All contacts are listed twice and all meetings are also listed twice!
Even when I delete the second contact manually it shows up again when I sync - crazy.
I have truned off Google Contacts sync and tried again. But it is still happening.
    What can I do?
    Best
    Monty

You either sync your contacts & calendars over the air with iCloud or by USB with your computer...not both at the same time. Doing both will create duplicates.

  • The most recent update to IOS 6.0.1 Eliminated My View of Google Calendars in the Calendar List in my IPAD

Since I primarily use Google Calendars, I need to see my Gcalendars on my IPad and could until I added the most recent update of IOS6.0.1 and now they are gone.  I was told by Apple sales people when converting to Apple products IPHONE, MACBOOK PRO and IPAD that they were competely compatible with Google calendars, contacts and mail.  It seems there is a push to force people to use ICloud which I for many reasons won't use.  Primarily, I have eight calendars in my Google account that I need to see on my IPAD and IPHONe for business.  Why would this not be available to google users anymore?  Also not being able to invite attendees when creating calendar events is also very limiting. Come On Apple, give people free access to their information from all their devices.

LOL! - you poor bugger, Ognyan!
I'm starting to serihously think this phone has been jailbroken... I've got a senior technical support advisor at Apple who is working on the case. He has gone through everything he can possibly think of, but won't take "no" for an answer.
At the moment, he has logged everything with the Engineering Department, who is going to look into it further using the IMEI number and see what they come up with. If worse comes to worse, Apple will apparently replace the phone for a fee. The problem is that it is 800+ days out of warranty...
Anyway, we'll see how we go. If anybody has got any ideas about this, please continue to provide answers. I appreciate all responses

  • Google calendar is not showing in the list of calendars in the iOS Calender app

I'm following this link to sync Google calendar with my iOS Calendar app on my iPhone 5:
    http://support.google.com/a/users/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740
It sets up alright and I can see it in the list of calendars in the settings but nothing is sync'ed in the Calendar app itself. Also while in the Calendar app I click Calendars in the top left corner, and this Google calendar is not even in there and I don't know why (since it is in the settings -> mail, contacts, calendars -> accounts.) Very frustrating!

You need an AirPrint compatible printer to be able to print directly from iOS devices, but unfortunately, your Canon ip2000 is not on the list of compatible devices.  See this Apple support document for more details:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
A possible workaround that might work is to try an App like Print Central on the iPad and iPhone. This will allow the iOS devices to print to most printers. But, there is no way to guarantee that it will work with your printer.
