Hi.  Saw this brief write up a couple of days ago, and it looks like this is not going to get better real quick.  I dont have a solution, only agreement that the problem is real.

  • How many calendars/emails can you sync?

I need to get the iphone to sync with a couple of different calendars and email addresses. For calendars, I need to keep the two separate. I would like to also keep mail seperate too. Is this possible:
    Calendars:
    1. Zimbra
    2. Google Calendar
    Emails:
    1. Zimbra
    2. Microsoft Exchange
    3. Gmail

I'm not sure about the calendar question, however I would think that syncing to one would change both. However, I do know you can have multiple email accounts on the iPhone. You don't really sync the email, the only thing you do is sync the settings through iTunes and then the email client on the iPhone acts as any other email client would, either POP3 or IMAP.

  • Can I get iCal to respond to Google Calendar invitations?

Ever since MobileMe forced everyone to switch to the new CalDAV calendars, iCal.app stopped responding to iCalendar (ICS) invitations that I receive via email from Google Calendar users. Here's what's happening:
I receive a Google Calendar email, open it in Mail.app, and double-click on the ICS email file attachment.
Mail passes the ICS to iCal.app, which automatically creates a new calendar entry. However, the only choice I have for the new even under the "NOTIFICATIONS" side pane in iCal is an "OK" button. (Prior to the MobileMe Calendar update, I could accept or decline a meeting from the Notifications pane.)
I can open the meeting in iCal to reveal "Maybe", "Decline", and "Accept" buttons, but—for example—choosing the Accept button doesn't send an iCalendar email response back to the meeting organizer. The fact that I just accepted the event is also not reflected in iCal. Furthermore, iCal doesn't let me edit or add a new alarm to the event.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions for how to restore the old behavior!
P.S. Here are links to two other calendaring issues that cropped up since the MobileMe change:
How do I set the meeting organizer email address for the new CalDAV calendar?
Can I get Google to recognize my iCal invitations?

I have the same problem and it is not limited to Google Calendar invitations. Very frustrating! I can't find a solution anywhere other than replying to the invite message manually ... very poor workaround.

  • Preventing all iCal email notifications of Google Calendar

I have a Google Calendar, and share it with others. On a remote machine, I set up that calendar in iCal using CalDAV, and later just as a subscription. In both cases, new meetings and reminders were send out using my remote machine's primary Mail email. I don't want that to happen. Is there a way to turn that off in iCal (http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icalreplychecker doesn't work with CalDAV), or must I control that in Google Calendar? thanks

I've been looking for a solution to this since I upgraded to Lion, and I'm saddened that there isn't a proper resolution.
I already get email notifications sent via Google Calendar, so the idea that for me to get my calendar events on my desktop, I basically have to put up with getting two notifications for each event, is pretty ridiculous. Add to that the fact that iCal continually launches the Mail app throughout the day, and that whole implementation is a mess.
    I appreciate the answer, though.

I assume that there are legal restrictions on the way in which iTunes can get artwork automatically from any source apart from the iTunes Store (which is what the right-click > Get Album Artwork function uses).  For example, even though the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to match CDs and retrieve metadata (artist, album, track titles, etc.) also has artwork functions, iTunes does not make use of these.
For manual addition of artwork, there are three cases where the image you select may not be correctly embedded in your media files:
your media are in a format that doesn't accommodate embedded artwork - typically WAV files.  To embed artwork you'll need to convert to another format - Apple Lossless or AIFF if you want to preserve lossless quality, AAC or MP3 otherwise.
your media files are read only - to fix this, use Windows Explorer to find the folder that contains your files, right-click and select Properties.  On the General tab there's a check box labeled "Read-only" - if this is checked, or is grey (sometimes blue), click the box so that the flag is unchecked and the box is white.  Click OK, and then OK again when the "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" option selected.  Now try adding the artwork again.
Windows permissions issues are preventing iTunes from updating your media files (there's some anecdotal evidence of a change in this behavior in iTunes 12).  See turingtest2's notes on Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows for advice on fixing this, then try adding the artwork again.

  • How do I get reminders to work between ical and google calendar

I have searched and searched, read dozens of posts, and still have found nothing that shows how to get reminders to work in ical. One post said to disable all event reminders in the google interface-did not make any difference; setting them up in google-did not work; etc etc
Specifically, I am on a macbook pro, snow leopard, ical 4.0.4; my wife is on the same system, but using an iMac.
since snow leopard does not support the cloud, and mobilme is gone, we were 'forced' to use google calendar to sync events between our two computers; that part seems to work fine; most of the time.
But neither of us can get a reminder to pop up in ical, when the event is one that goes to google; if the event is one that is "on my mac", then those kind of event reminders do work.
this is not about syncing reminders; it is about me tring to make a medical appt event remind me a few hours before, so I don't forget it, like happened last week!!
Mainly I am expecting anyone that responds to this post to say, yes you are right, there is no way to get a 'caldav' event reminder to work anymore.
If anyone says "I found a way..." I will be knocked over :-)  (but overjoyed); I am happy to use terminal, plist editor, or anything else, if someone can fix this.

can anyone help with this, even if just to confirm that there is no fix?

  • Can't get SMS Reminders from Google Calendar on Samsung Keyboard

Hi, I would love to get SMS reminders from Google Calendar on my Samsung Keyboard basic phone I just bought but they are not coming through for some reason. I set up the phone with Google Calendar and they sent a text message verification text to my phone which I got. I entered verification number into Google and saved it. Google said I set up my phone successfully. But I receive no reminders. I checked my spam filters with MyVerizon but that looks good.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you for your time,
    Jonathan

Let me add that I can use the webcal url published by MobileMe Calendar to
allow Evolution to 'see' and display my MobileMe calendar on my Fedora boxes.
So why is Google Calendar being so picky?

  • Google calendar sends e-mail reminders, iCal shall not trigger Mail

I am using several Google calendars. I configured Google calendar to send reminders via e-mail. Unfortunately, iCal tries to do the same now. So for every entry in one of my Google calendars, Mail appears and wants to send a reminder e-mail ... Very annoying. What I would like to have, however, is the following:
E-Mail alarms come via Google calendar and on screen reminders come via iCal. Under no circumstances, however, Mail shall send e-mail reminders itself.
    Any way to achieve this?

    Hi,
Not exactly what you're asking for but… you can disable all alarms for a calendar in iCal by selecting the calendar in the Calendar list, pressing Cmd-I and from the info window that should appear checking "Ignore alarms".
    Best wishes

  • Adding Google calendar after email add

    I find this particularly annoying...
I had to reset my phone and on adding back the accounts added my gmail account, then spent hours hunting around for the option to add the calendar without success. I remembered I had done this previously without problem but forgot how I had done it.
Then in desperation I deleted the account and added gmail the automatic way (i.e. just typing in the email address from the first screen) and low and behold the calendar options appeared.
Why isn't the option there when you add manually (unless in the 2 hours I spent, I missed the obvious)???

Recent BlackBerry 10 convert (from guess what)

when you use the easy configuration, the Z10 will understand that one account stands for three (email + contacts + calendar) with the same credentials, but three different servers.
when you use the Advanced configuration system, you have to specify explicitly the URL for each server.
So if you want to add a specific calendar from a GMail account, you must fetch the exact URL of that calendar (in the options of the Google Calendar web interface) and input that on your Z10.
This is very useful for example for people who have several calendars on their GMail account.

  • Is it possible to have my Google calendar sync with my droid but not sync my Google email??

I love having my google calendar sync with my phone.  However, it is pulling down my email as well with more information than I would like stored in my droid.

Thanks for your help!  I have been fooling with this and at some point must have turned the "sync" off for email.  Glad you gave me the path to get there and see that it was actually turned off.

  • Calendar won't send email reminders since updating to Mavericks?

Since upgrading to OS Mavericks Calendar won't send email reminders.
I have been able to set them.  But they don't actually send.
I have visited multiple sites and discussions and attempted the suggestions posted there but nothing seems to help.  I have even contact Apple feedback, and still haven't heard back from anyone.
Just to clarify, i have attempted the following fixes:
    - Adjusted email settings to ensure iCloud ermail account is properly set up
    - Adjusted reminder settings in calendar to ensure the reminders should send
    - ensured that "My Card" is properly set up in Contacts
I can't seem to find anything else to help?  Anyone have any ideas?

I am haivng the same issue too.
According to some other posts, I deleted and readded the "Me" record in the address book. When creating a new calender entry I set it to send email. When the notification pops up it's just a normal alert and no email.
    Any ideas?

  • Yahoo calendar in iPhone won't send email reminders

When I add a calendar event from my iPhone 4s and set reminders for it, I do not get email reminders for the events. I used to reminders emailed to me even on my iPod. This started in the past week. If I add events to my Yahoo calendar from my PC, I still get the email reminders. I would really like to get the email reminders from events added to the calendar from my iPhone. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

  • ICal will only to connect to old google calendar with same email

I used my email address to establish a Google calendar and link it to iCal.  I have since abandoned that goodle calendar and started using a different calendaring program, but with the same email address.  When I try to link the new calendar program with iCal it recognizes the old email address and attempts to connect it to the old google calendar.  I don't have deleted all of the old accounts, but there must be a preferences file or something that is being kept around.  Any ideas?

Just in case I was unclear, here's my scenario. I have a google calendar on my iCal that I want to share. I can share from Google but the person I want to send it to isn't set up on Google (old man). However, he does have an iPhone and understands that all he has to do is accept an invitation to see a shared calendar from an iOS device. Share a google calendar the same way I share a iCal is what I'm trying to figure out without going through each entry and converting to a new calendar.

  • SharePoint Email Workflow to Google Calendar

    Greetings fellow SharePoint enthusists!
    BackGround:
I currently have a workflow in place that sends attendees from a SharePoint Calendar an email with a clickable link to add it to their Outlook Calendar (Using the .ics method). However now the email by client "X" will be moving to Gmail
and using Google Calendar as the primary calendar source.
    Issue:
Do any of you know of a way to have a clickable link, inside a SharePoint workflow email, that would add it to the user's Google Calendar?
    Note:
I am not looking for a "Calendar Sync" I am simply looking for a link the user can click and it will add the SharePoint Event to their Google Calendar.

    Hi KamzK,
There shouldn't be an OOTB way (or a link) to retrieve SharePoint calendar event and then insert to Google calendar by design, it will need code(e.g. call web services from SharePoint and Google calendar) to get the SharePoint Calendar event
and then insert to Google calendar.
Here is an article about this topic with code method which may help, you can take a look.
