Google calendar stopped syncing with iphone

We sync the iphone 4s with google calendar and yesterday the sync just stopped.  It still works fine with another iphone 4s, but this one just stopped syncing.  Any ideas from anyone out there?  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

After searching all day I found this in another response to setup your account you must create a new account as an Microsoft Exchange account.
Follow the instructions provided by Google to set up your gmail account as an Exchange account on the iPhone. You can then sync calendars and contacts as well as receive push e-mail.

It took a minute or two to synch and appears to be working now!!

  • Outlook Calendar stopped syncing with iPhone Calendar

I deleted a recurrent event on my iPhone and this action appears to have confused the sync capability between my iPhone and MS Outlook Calendar.
Outlook still tries to find the recurrent event on start-up even though it is not shown in Outlook Calendar.
More concerning is that new events and changes in Outlook Calendar are no longer syncing with iPhone Calendar. The time to complete the Calendar sync activity is noticeably longer than any of the other sync actions, which suggests that there is a problem.
I have been through the restore routine in iTunes and also attempted to replace all the Outlook Calendar data on the iPhone using the Advanced facility on the iTunes Info tab.
I appreciate that this may be an Outlook issue but are there any other things that I can try to restore the sync capability between the 2 Calendars.
All other sync functions appear to work ok - I have created and deleted Contact data from both Outlook and iPhone and this works fine.
    Grateful for any help!

I'm not sure if this will work for you. It seems every time I research a problem, everyone has a different solution that doesn't work for everyone. (I just spent an hour and a half searching for a solution in various forums.) But this one just worked for me.
I went into iTunes, into the Devices page for my iPhone, then to the Info tab. I unchecked Sync Calendars with Outlook. A pop-up appeared saying, I believe (I didn't write it down) "Do you want to delete previously synced calendars on the iPhone" - or words to that effect. Since I hadn't entered anything directly into the iPhone calendar in a while, I clicked Okay. Then I clicked on Apply (lower right corner of iTunes). The iPhone synced, and all appointments disappeared from the iPhone calendar. I then rechecked Sync Calendars with Outlook, clicked Apply, and the iPhone synced once again - and all my Outlook calendar appointments appeared on the iPhone.
This was, I admit, after having deinstalled all Apple software from my PC and reinstalling it. That didn't work on its own (still couldn't sync calendars), but I don't know for sure whether it had something to do with the success of the de-sync / re-sync.
Good luck. These solutions always seem to be hit-and-miss.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa.

Outlook 2007 Calendar Appts have stopped syncing with iPhone 3GS and Vice Versa. Only noticed in last month or so. Help required please.
May have been after an iTunes update.
Have upgraded to latest version of iTunes and iOS but to no avail.
Contacts sync OK both ways, it's just Calendar Appointments that don't.
Any ideas and assistance greatly appreciated.

  • My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on tools, trust center, add ins. icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but was told that this could only be done by administrator. I am the admin. Help????

My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on outlook tools, trust center, add ins. I noted that icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but got a message that this change could only be done by administrator. I am the administrator. Help???? Any ideas?

I do not believe this. I have been going nuts trying everything as in prior posts, and this has been a problem for users at least since 2010. I had this problem a long time ago and didn't pay too much attention to it because it was my iPad, and I depended on my BB a a base calander to feed Outlook. I became very concerned within the past week when I switched my BB to iPhone 5s, and was carrying both because I still needed to carry the BB for new calander enteries to sync up to Outlook 2007.
I had followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 and delete the apple s/w and re-installed. But according to the previous post, it appears that the issue was in the data - which was not deleted during all these deinstalls nor overridden with the new installs.
I am a XP user, so my files are in documents and settings/(username) both application data and \local settings\application data, but I also have safari and quicktime installed as well and didn't want to just blow entire high level folders if I didn't have to.
So I followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 then purged several apple folders in my windows profile and this definitely blew apple computer\preferences away. What I did was a little clumbsy, and desperate, but it worked. I am finally back in business.
However, I would like to see someone fine tune this and determine if it was just the preferences folder that needed to be deleted so that iTunes needed to rebuild it, or if there were other filoes that were apparently corrupted away, just to get this to the minimum number of steps to fix the issue.
BUT THANKS - This has been the most HELPFUL thread to get me syncing agai!!!!

  • Google Calendar stopped syncing

Up until recently my Google Calendar was synced with my BlackBerry calendar... But it's just stopped!
However, all calendars are still selected and I can see no reason why.
    Help?

Are you syncing via the Google Sync app? If so, open it - there should be a warning message explaining the problem.

  • Google Calendars not syncing to iPhone 6

As of about 3 days ago my google calendars stopped syncing to my iPhone 6 using iOS 8.1.1. I noticed some events were not syncing, going both directions. I removed Calendar Sync from my google gmail account, which deleted all of my google calendars for that account. Then I added calendar sync again. When I did that the calendars do not appear in my iOS calendars app. I've tried to refresh, i've deleted and added several times, but no calendars. I've even posted on the Google support page (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/calendar/ios/jmqloVY4LmQ). I can't find anything to say why I'm having this issue or how to correct it. I've added it using all of the recommendations from Google, using a google account, and I've selected my calendars to sync. But It's not even showing my primary calendar now. Please help!

I had the same problem, but read this after the downgrade opportunity expired.  After almost 2 months I figured it out.  I set up the Gmail/Google Calendar/Google Contacts on my iPhone as an Exchange Account many years ago.  Google discontinued this in 2013 for all new users, though it still worked for me (until Nov 17th).  Google now uses CardDAV for Contacts and CaIDAV for Calendar (since 2013).  They recommend using the Gmail app for their mail.  Here is a link on how to set up Gmail/Contacts/Google Calendar: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/3008051?hl=en
I did this yesterday and now everything works.  I was surprised that there weren't more complaints about the issue (I thought there must be hundreds of thousands of people affected) but most people probably have it set up using the newer method, which obviously wasn't affected by iOS 8.1.1

  • Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g

Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g.
    Solution
Create backup of your entire mailbox before starting (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Create offline folder (.pst file) Check windows help on how to do this for your version.
    Open folders view on Outlook
Right click on Calendar in tree view and 'copy to' offline .pst folder
Go back to main calendar view and delete all entries in your calendar.
Create simple cal entry and sync test with iphone
If this works then start dragging cal entries back from the offline folder into the main calendar then sync after each step....
I moved events in this order
    -Yearly recurrences (ie Birthdays)
    - Monthly recurrences
    - weekly recurrences
    - Daily recurrences
All appointments from the beginning of this year >> to the end of time!
If all these sync then the issue is with an older cal item and you have to decide if you actually need these in you current calendar.
I chose to leave these in the offline cal and if i need access them from there.
If at any point the sync fails then you know you have a corrupt cal entry in the block you just transferred. Move the offending items back into the offline folder and try again in smaller chunks until you identify the offending items and delete them and manually recreate them in your real calendar.
Also smart to run the inbox (.pst /.ost ) repair tools for your OS/Outlook version.
    Fixed so far
    XP Pro / Outlook 2008
    XP Pro /Outlook 2003

I just updated the firmware to iPhone 2.0.1 and the syncing works great both ways.

After reinstallation of Outlook 2010 on my Laptop, Contacts and Calendar did not appeared while they are exist in my iphone 5 by using icloud. What I should do to get Contacts and Calendars in sync with iphone 5?
    Thank you.

So you have business contacts that were lost... do you not have these on a Database in some shape or form? Sounds like you need to invest in a RAID1 backup setup for your computer so you dont have this issue in the future.
As for repairing your problem, sounds like you are going to need to start from scratch at this point or if the data is still on your phone look into a program that can take the information from the phone onto iTunes.

IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP SYNCING WITH IPHONE AND ITUNES

Please turn off your caps lock.  All caps indicates shouting, is considered rude and is difficulat to read.  Many will not read such posts.

  • I'm having problems with syncing my iphone 4s calendar with google calendar.  google calendar will sync with phone but phone calendar won't sync with google calendar.

I can't get my iphone 4s calendar to sync with google calendar.  I can sync the other way i.e from google to iphone.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
If you don't do this per the instructions included with the link, all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync. If you haven't transferred photos from your old computer to your new, any photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your previous computer will be erased when selecting to transfer any photos from your new computer.
Not sure how cancelling a sync with iTunes and importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll with iPhoto could have an effect on your GPS reception and location services.

  • My Outlook 2007 Calendar stopped syncing with my iCloud Calendar

My iCloud Calendar no longer syncs with my Outlook 2007 Calendar.  When someone sends me a mobileme invite it shows up in my Outlook but not my iCloud.  When I click refresh iCloud, it doesn't.  What do I do?

I upgraded to 8.1.1 and thought this might have solved a problem, but the syncing between outlook.com and the IOS device is not robust, and can be broken pretty easily.
Here is a repeatable problem that causes the syncing to stop if there are 2 outlook.com calendars being synced with an IOS device:
    1) Reconfigure Outlook.com Account on IOS device.  This downloads all existing outlook.com calendar entries and starts clean.
    2)  Create "appointment 1" in "calendar 1" on outlook.com (This will sync with Ipad without a problem)
    3)  Create "appointment 2" in "calendar 2" on Ipad (This will sync with outlook.com without a problem)
    4)  Edit "appointment 1" on Ipad to switch it from "calendar 1" to "calendar 2".
The appointment will NOT switch on outlook.com, and all syncing between outlook.com and the IOS calendar appears to stop after this.  There may be other edits/changes that would cause this problem, or perhaps the syncing would just stop on its own anyway.
This is a pretty desirable workflow/process.  (i.e. Person 1/Calendar 1 switches responsibility for an appointment to Person2/Calendar2.... or... Person 1/Calendar 1 makes an appointment on the IPAD, and then later wants to modify it when they are at their PC.

  • Iphone 6 calendar stopped syncing with Macbook pro calendar

My new iPhone 6 was syncing with the calendar on my MacBook Pro but just stopped. iCloud is enabled on both devices.

It just started working again. Not sure what changed.

  • ICal stopped syncing with iPhone

My iPhone has been blissfully syncing, as expected, until the last few days, when it no longer syncs with my iCal. New calendar items don't sync to the phone, and new items on my iPhone won't sync to iCal.
I have been running a third party application Busysync to sync with my Google calendar, and this has also stopped syncing from Google calendar to my main computer, but not from iCal to my Google calendar. I have been trying to get help with this from their forums, where a suggestion came up that recurring calendar items might be triggering problems within Google calendar and therefore Busysync, but even when I stop Busysync running, my iCal and iPhone still won't sync with each other.
I've attempted resetting my Sync history in iSync, but it makes no difference. This was a problem prior to updating to iTunes 9, and I was wondering if anyone else had been having problems with the last update of iTunes 8. Or is there another simple way of resetting things, as resetting the Sync history seems to do nothing...
    Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. My iPhone calendar was syncing to my iCloud and my Macbook Pro but then it stopped. Now I've added an iMac and can't get my phone to sync to either computer. It's not only annyoing but very bothersome when you add an appointment to your iPhone and it doesn't update to your iCalendar at home.

  • HT204053 My calender stopped sync with iphone when I upgraded ti iCloud?

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS lion, 10:7:3 and it stopped syncing calender with my iphone.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.
