Google Chrome crushing Mac

Hi guys,
Google Chrome is crushing my MacBook Pro 10.6.8.
I've done a new browser profile and it worked fine for 4 or 5 days, than it started crushing again.
When it happens, I cannot move anything on the screen.
I went to Google forums searching for an answer but had no response, only other people asking the same question.
The only solution I found was the new browser profile, but it didn't work for me.
Could somebody help me?
Thank you!!
PS: I'm a Feedly user and it only works on Chrome.
PS2: Maybe it's just a coincidence, but crushes happen 90% when I'm using Wordpress.

You can simply install and use FireFox as your browser and then the plugin I linked to above.  FireFox is stable in OS X.  You can pick the applicable version of FireFox from here:
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If you want the U.S. English version... the direct link is:  http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-20.0&os=osx&lang=en-US

I am unable to upload pictures to costcophotocenter.com or play on-line java games using Google Chrome. OSX wants me to update java but I already have the latest update.
Those same java sites work fine using other web browsers.
Is there an known issue with Java and Google Chrome on a Mac?

Apparently, it's a Chrome issue. Talk to them.

  • Flash has stopped working in Google Chrome. Mac OS X Lion, Chrome 22, Flash works in Safari & Firefo

Flash player no longer working in Google Chrome -- Chrome Version 22.0.1229.79, Mac OS X Lion. Flash works fine in Safari and Firefox. Pages with flash freeze -- can't scroll (e.g, nytimes.com); on youtube, sound plays but the video windows are black spaces. This problem appeared Sept. 26, 2012. I was running Snow Leopard; updated to Lion in hopes this would resolve the problem, but the problem is still there. If I go to chrome:plugins and disable Flash, I can scroll around nytimes.com and the flash box/window just tells me to install flash.
I have tried: Clearing Cache and all other data in Chrome. Going to the Library in Finder and deleting the Google folder from Library>Caches, then uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it. None of these have fixed the problem.

Are you using a 2nd monitor? It appears to be related to that, and somebody somewhere is working on it. When I disconnected my external monitor, the problem disappeared on my laptop; apparently there will be an update to Chrome -- though not necessarily a stable one yet -- beginning next week to address the problem. • How to fix stalling in Google Chrome on Mac OS Lion

Putting this out as a service to others.
I was having a frustrating issue with Google Chrome failing to fully load web pages and exhibiting overall poor speed and performance (even on a SSD boot drive) on Mac OS Lion 10.7.3 and figured out how to fix it.

Hope it helps someone else.  Good Luck.
    Carlos.

Why not reinstall OSX? The link you gave is fetching the 10.7.5 combo update from the server, and replacing the Java core framework. I don't know why you wouldn't just reinstall 10.8.5 in the normal manner, whether via recovery mode or the combo update:

"curl" it if you feel so inclined.

  • How do I report a bug against Flash Player for Google Chrome?

Flash Player for Google Chrome is currently developed jointly between Adobe and Google.  Because of this relationship, we would like to encourage users that are encountering issues with Chrome's Flash Player to report bugs directly to the Chromium database.  You can do this by filling out the following form:
    New Chromium bug report
    Please include the following details:
    Operating System
    Chrome version
    Flash Player version
    URL where problem was encountered
    Steps to reproduce
    Other browsers tested
Crash ID if applicable (visit "about:flash" in Chrome to find the appropriate crash ID.)
If you are running into a video or 3D related bug, please navigate to "about:gpu", save and attach this information to your bug report
Once added, please create a new forum thread (or bug report at bugbase.adobe.com) with your Chromium bug URL/number so we can follow up internally.
Please be aware that Chrome Windows now includes a new, more secure, plugin platform for Flash Player (PPAPI).  When troubleshooting your problem, we recommend testing against the older NPAPI version of Flash Player.  Steps detailing this process can be found here:  Enable system Flash Player in Google Chrome | Windows | Mac
Finally, you might also consider testing your issue out against the Chrome beta and Canary (alpha) builds to see if the problem has been resolved.

    Hi Ellen,
    Hope you are doing good.
The best option would be to raise a OSS incident in the component: CA-VE-VEV or CA-VE-CAD so that my colleagues can actually investigate this further and release a bug patch if needed.
    Thank you!
    Kind Regards,

  • Google Chrome He Kernel Panic on MBPr / OSX 10.9.3

On both of my MacBook Pro Retinas (similar specs - 16GB RAM, biggest SSD HD, plenty of disk space) Google Chrome causes a kernel panic randomly, usually in the graphics driver (I assume based on call stack.) I know there were problems with this acknowledged way back in 2012 but it started happening for me again in the last couple of weeks.
Google Chrome is latest version: Version 35.0.1916.153 - up to date
Not sure what causes it activity-wise. Just browsing web and boom, gray screen. Always, always, always in the Google Chrome He process.
    Any tips?

  • Google Chrome Development Version

I love Safari -- really do. But I installed the (stability not guaranteed) development channel version of Google Chrome for Mac OS X tonight, and OMG is it FAST !!!!! I will post subsequently if it crashes and burns. So far, no problems. Try the "brushed chrome" theme.

64-bit Safari is just as fast, from what I see from my use... Also, G. Chrome has a bunch of Google Helper processes running that seem to be hogging the CPU quite a bit... Or, perhaps, it's just me.. PS Only installed Chrome because of constant crashing from both: Safari & Firefox 3.

  • Choppy sound and game play with Google Chrome.

I'm getting choppy audio and game play with Bejeweled Blitz with google chrome.  I tried all the solutions offered on the "Flash player games, video, audio don't work" site.  None of which helped.
    Any other ideas?

  • IWeb with Google Chrome Opacity Problem

Hi, I'm relatively new to iWeb and probabably do not know many features, so.. don't blame me if i do not know what you mean
In iWeb, I created some text with shadows and line dividers, both with opacity on them:
and with changing colors when cursor hovers over the links:
However, after I published it, it appeared like this when using the latest version of Google Chrome on Mac OS X 10.6.8:
with no opacity on the shadow and line dividers, and no change of color when hovering over the text.
Also, only the opacity works on Safari, not the color change. Is it due to my browser? or did I just missed out options when publishing? o.O

The more complex it gets, the less it can be done in iWeb.
    Create your own menus.

  • Google Chrome constantly crush on Yosemite

I got the "trash can" model of Mac Pro for about a month and upgraded to the new Yosemite OS. I'm actually surprised to find that the mac pro is not in new OS by default.
Anyway, I found that I Google Chrome constantly crush especially when I'm browsing video websites.
Not "sometimes" but constantly crush. On average, I need to force restart about more than twice every single day.
I remember when I used google chrome on macbook air years ago..... I never had any crush problems let along freeze and force restart.
Why is this happening on the flagships of mac?
I could only think of there possible reasons:
    1. Bad support of google chrome (or generally google  product).
However, as I stated above, I never had google product issue when using my old macbook air.
    2. If it is working fine on my old mac then the problem might be the new Yosemite OS?
Isn't newer OS usually better? I can still remember how good I felt when I just switched from snow leopard to Lion.
    3. If the problem is not in OS then Mac Pro?
So a pro line work station cannot out perform macbook air in browsing websites?
    4. Maybe due to the fact that I use a 4K monitor? Since I notice full screen youtube is not fluent on my 4k monitor.
As we all know apple still not annoying a official 4K monitor. Maybe this is the reason why it preform bad on mine. But wait, isn't is written on the website that mac pro can actually handle 3 4k monitors at once? So using 1 is not supported?
I really think its a awesome mac when I work on my video and photo softwares, but constantly crush when using google chrome is just a pain in the S.
It's usually fine using Safari but I think chrome is faster and the extensions are so versatile compare to Safari.

Chrome is a resource hog, which may be why you are having problems with it.

  • Why wont Google Chrome open and says it wont work with this version of mac os 10

I just bought a macbook and when I went to instal Google Chrome it told me it isnt compatable with mac os 10

You should be able to update to OS X 10.6, or, if the Macbook is a late-2006 or newer one, to 10.7
You can still buy 10.6 from the Apple Store - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
OS X 10.7 should be in the Mac App Store and is only available by downloading it from the online Mac App Store, but you will need 10.6 to get the store in the first place (the Mac App Store appeared with iOS 10.6.6).

  • Google chrome on a mac help

i have a mac with snow leapord version 10.6.8 managed to get a new version of google chrome to install but the older copy  will not unistall  be cause it keeps saying google chrome helper is runnig but i am not using it and it is slowing down mac ..
    can anybody help pleeeease

I'm a bit confused. Is the goal to end up with a new version of Chrome or stick with the older one?
If you want the latest, launch the old version and from the Chrome menu go to About Google Chrome and it should update for you.
If you need to quit the Google Chrome Helper launch Activity Monitor in Utilities, select Google Chrome Helper in the list of Active processes and then click on the big red 'quit process' button top left of the window.
Note: you may find there is more than one instance of Google Chrome Helper running.
