The other Macbook Air of mine has no problem with Google Chrome Helper. But Pro has.

Google Chrome Helper is not responding after Mavericks upgrade

Since installing Mavericks on my 2011 Macbook Air, Google Chrome has frozen twice and activity monitor says this is due to a process called google chrome helper.

The first time, I could not get my machine to respond so I had to do a hard reset. On the next occasion I waited and it started responding again.
Never had this problem on Mountain Lion and I am a chrome tab ****.

This is an issue with how Activity Monitor determines responsiveness – these processes are running perfectly fine. (We changed chrome to work around that Activity Monitor issue, and the fix will reach you eventually...
That is "dated" about five hours ago (current local time here is 6:23pm, CDT). So there should be a new version of "something" available soon. The reason I say "something" is because several dev's claimed a new version of "Canary" seems to fix this problem. I'm no dev but the concensus seems to be that the 'helper' is actually work/responding fine, as far as Chrome is concerned. But there are some changes and API calls that make Activity Monitor 'think' it's "not responding." Reading that last post, however, leads me to believe that a new version of Chrome will soon be available. I have no idea what "Canary" even is but many may not be using it so the fact that it fixes this problem is irrelevent; the fix needs to be seen by all Chrome users.

Google chrome helper

Google chrome helper is frequently using 100+% cpu when watching youtube videos in HD. Why is this so and how do I fix it? HD videos play just fine on Safari but I would hate to use safari because of the lag. Did a search and did not see anyone else with identical issues as well.

Safari - try un-installing and then re-installing.

Google Chrome Helper EH

I am trying to uninstall Adobe Creative Master Suite 5, but am unable to do so while Google Chrome Helper EH is running. However even after uninstalling Google Chrome I can't seem to get Google Chrome Helper EH to stop running/deleter. How do I make sure it's not running or completely delete it so that I can continue with my uninstallation of Adobe Creative Suite 5? Any feedback would be appreciated. I am running a Max OSX Version 10.6.8

It's the host process for the Shockwave Flash plugin. Chrome can use the common Flash plugin, which lives here

but it comes with its own version here

If you need to disable it, the simplest method is to use Chrome to go to
chrome://plugins/
and disable Flash.

I wonder if anyone can use Google Chrome on T61.
I got my T61 from Hong Kong 5 months ago and I am using Windows Vista SP1 32 Bit Traditional Chinese.
After I installed Google Chrome, it couldn' t connect to any websites. I had tried to uninstall it and even reinstall my computer, but it still doesn't work. The Internet Explorer does work.
Surprisingly, I can connect to different websites using Google Chrome when I use Windows XP on Virtual PC. It seems that it's related to the OS itself. I will try to use Vista on Virtual PC, but I hope that you guys will be able to solve my problem.

It might be helpful to provide some more details such as: will it not install?, will it install and not run?, will it run but give error message?, etc, etc, etc.

Have to have:
database instance running
listener running
http presentation service in `lsnrctl services` endpoints
Without the first two, there is no way number 3 will happen. And variations in the networking setup for the host can also prevent #3 from registering with the listener, even when #1 and #2 are working.

Why the swf can't having the path with my application ?

If it works in Chrome, it's not a problem with the SWF or with Flash Player, so the problem lies in your C++ compiling.

Google Chrome Helper and high CPU usage

My fans are always spinning when I run Chrome. I can see two Google Chrome Helper processes under the cpu column in activity monitor. I only have four tabs open. 1Password is the only extension I'm using.
Anyone else having this issue and know how to solve it?

It looks like at least some cases of this problem were fixed by an update to Google Chrome (to 38.0.2125.111) that was released earlier this week. This has been a long running issue with the chromium code underlying Chrome, with many, many hundreds of complaints on the chromium development boards, so I wouldn't claim that it hit all of them.
One thing that helped me when I was having this problem with the previous build was running an ad blocker on the offending pages. It looked to me like there may have been code in, ironically, Google's DoubleClick ad network that would trigger the bug. At any rate, this might be worth trying if you are still seeing issues with Google Chrome.

Yoga 2 Pro: Google Chrome does not open properly

I have a Yoga Thinkpad 13.3 convertible which I recently upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 with no apparent problems. A few days later I tried to open Google Chrome - the screen wouldn't open properly and wouldn't respond. I tried to uninstall the progam and couldn't do that either, or download a new version. A computer technician friend has since managed to get Chrome to uninstall and cleared the registry and downloaded Chrome again but it still isn't working - the screen shot is what it's like at the moment and he is baffled, he's never come across this before. Is there a conflict between Chrome and Windows 8.1?
If anyone has a solution please explain in simple language I'm not particularly computer literate when it comes to technical speak.

Try creating a new user account, then uninstall/reinstall chrome using the offline installer.

As we don't have any control over the installation process on Chrome, you'd need to seek help in the Chrome forums.
That said, this seems very odd.
Type the following in the address bar:
chrome://plugins/
Click Details and expand the list.
Scroll down, and you should be able to find Adobe Flash Player in the list.
If it's not there, I'd remove Chrome and just download it again from Google.
Also, do you have any security or privacy software (maybe from a not-so-mainstream vendor?) that might helpfully remove Flash Player for you?

I have the same problem. I was using Google Chrome without any problems until two days ago, when suddenly a bar started popping up accross the top of the page saying "Adobe Flash Player only works on the desktop" and give me the options "Relaunch Chrome" or "Don't ask again." It can be very frustrating to have to relaunch chrome, especially if you're in the middle of streaming, or downloading, or halfway through something extremely long (and usually boring in my line of work) and it starts you back at the beginning because you have to relaunch. Firefox keeps asking to install Flash. When I attempt this, I get an error message stating it failed. Flash works in Google Chrome, but not FF.

I don't know what happened but Firefox keeps asking me to install Flash. When I attempt to install the program, I get an error message that it has failed. There is no other information given and I'm just left hanging. I've tried this over twenty times with the same results. I've even uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, but this continues. I'm unable to watch any YouTube videos. I then installed Google Chrome and all is working fine. I can't stand the Google company though and really with I could continue using Firefox. Why is GC working for me any FF not? How can I fix this?

Google Chrome comes with its own Flash plugin, so doesn't require to install Flash separately.

You may have to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator) and make sure that Firefox and possibly other browsers are closed.

Google Chrome will not install on MacBookPro OS 10.7.5

I had to remove Google Chrome from my laptop because it kept crashing and now it will not install. I am using OS version 10.7.5. In the Application folder this is the image I get.
This looks like it is not supported. I need to use Chrome for work and am confused what to do now. Any thoughts on how to correct this issue?
