Google chrome helper
Google chrome helper is frequently using 100+% cpu when watching youtube videos in HD. Why is this so and how do I fix it? HD videos play just fine on Safari but I would hate to use safari because of the lag. Did a search and did not see anyone else with identical issues as well.
Safari - try un-installing and then re-installing.

I am trying to uninstall Adobe Creative Master Suite 5, but am unable to do so while Google Chrome Helper EH is running. However even after uninstalling Google Chrome I can't seem to get Google Chrome Helper EH to stop running/deleter. How do I make sure it's not running or completely delete it so that I can continue with my uninstallation of Adobe Creative Suite 5? Any feedback would be appreciated. I am running a Max OSX Version 10.6.8
Just in case someone else stumbles upon this thread…
Google Chrome Helper EH lives here
</Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Versions/[version_no]/Google Chrome Helper EH.app>
It's the host process for the Shockwave Flash plugin. Chrome can use the common Flash plugin, which lives here
</Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin>
but it comes with its own version here
</Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Versions/[version_no]/Google Chrome Framework.framework/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player Plugin for Chrome.plugin>
If you need to disable it, the simplest method is to use Chrome to go to
chrome://plugins/
and disable Flash. -
Google Chrome Helper is not responding after Mavericks upgrade
Since installing Mavericks on my 2011 Macbook Air, Google Chrome has frozen twice and activity monitor says this is due to a process called google chrome helper.
Chrome Version 30.0.1599.101
The first time, I could not get my machine to respond so I had to do a hard reset. On the next occasion I waited and it started responding again.
Never had this problem on Mountain Lion and I am a chrome tab ****.
CheersHere's the last entry in the Chrome dev's forum:
This bug is fixed and the fix will reach the stable channel eventually.
This is an issue with how Activity Monitor determines responsiveness – these processes are running perfectly fine. (We changed chrome to work around that Activity Monitor issue, and the fix will reach you eventually...
That is "dated" about five hours ago (current local time here is 6:23pm, CDT). So there should be a new version of "something" available soon. The reason I say "something" is because several dev's claimed a new version of "Canary" seems to fix this problem. I'm no dev but the concensus seems to be that the 'helper' is actually work/responding fine, as far as Chrome is concerned. But there are some changes and API calls that make Activity Monitor 'think' it's "not responding." Reading that last post, however, leads me to believe that a new version of Chrome will soon be available. I have no idea what "Canary" even is but many may not be using it so the fact that it fixes this problem is irrelevent; the fix needs to be seen by all Chrome users.
Hope this helps. Here a link to that dev thread (80 posts): https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=304860&can=1&q=app%20nap&col spec=ID%20Pri%20M%20Iteration%20ReleaseBlock%20Cr%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20O S%20Modified -
Google Chrome Helper and high CPU usage
My fans are always spinning when I run Chrome. I can see two Google Chrome Helper processes under the cpu column in activity monitor. I only have four tabs open. 1Password is the only extension I'm using.
Anyone else having this issue and know how to solve it?It looks like at least some cases of this problem were fixed by an update to Google Chrome (to 38.0.2125.111) that was released earlier this week. This has been a long running issue with the chromium code underlying Chrome, with many, many hundreds of complaints on the chromium development boards, so I wouldn't claim that it hit all of them.
One thing that helped me when I was having this problem with the previous build was running an ad blocker on the offending pages. It looked to me like there may have been code in, ironically, Google's DoubleClick ad network that would trigger the bug. At any rate, this might be worth trying if you are still seeing issues with Google Chrome. -

Help me uninstall CS5.5 - I get a close Google Chrome helper message and it's closed.
I have followed Adobe's instructions and gone so far as to look in the Adobe logs the uninstaller creates looking for the error messages they say should be there. There are no error messages. All I get, everytime I attempt to uninstall, is the following screen.. All that Adobe troubleshooting FAQs tell you to force quit the hanging applications - but Chrome Helper and Chome he are not listed in the Force Quit screen.

Hey everyone, I fully downloaded GC days ago. It's In my dock as keep even when quit.
However whenever I shut down my Macbook Air, It's in the dock as a "?" and when I click It. It's as If I still haven't moved It Into Applications. Even though It Is. However even without replacing It or pressing "cancel" or the such. It will open GC like It's downloaded.
How do I get It to stay as the GC Icon and open like It's already downloaded.
And yes sir. I tried redownloaded and everything.Try this :

i have a mac with snow leapord version 10.6.8 managed to get a new version of google chrome to install but the older copy will not unistall be cause it keeps saying google chrome helper is runnig but i am not using it and it is slowing down mac ..
can anybody help pleeeeaseI'm a bit confused. Is the goal to end up with a new version of Chrome or stick with the older one?
If you want the latest, launch the old version and from the Chrome menu go to About Google Chrome and it should update for you.
If you need to quit the Google Chrome Helper launch Activity Monitor in Utilities, select Google Chrome Helper in the list of Active processes and then click on the big red 'quit process' button top left of the window.
Note: you may find there is more than one instance of Google Chrome Helper running. -
When saving files from within Firefox sometimes, I get a pop up dialog message saying "Warning Unresponsive Script". The script it refers to is "chrome:global/content/bindings/general.xml:0". I am usually running Chrome at the same time cause I use different browsers for different things and that's the only way I can keep my workflow straight. However, I am not sure what one, would have to do with the other. But there it is. When this happens, things are usually fine and I can save my photo or whatever just fine no problem. However, about 25% of the time it locks me into a loop that I cannot get out of. I cannot dismiss the script error, I cannot save the file or skip the file save dialog box either, and the only way I can continue in Firefox is to force close it and restart. This is SERIOUSLY annoying me and affecting me adversely and I am going to have to dump Firefox and use something else if I can't get this resolved.
I took a look at the error log to see what it said and found the following:
Jan 19 22:37:35 mac-mini [0x0-0x1a01a].com.google.Chrome[186]: Handling SIGTERM in renderer.

Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance. Please use `CGAccessSessionSkipForward' instead.
Any ideas on fixing this? I did not have this problem with the previous version of Firefox and only started encountering it recently when I started using Firefox 3.6.13Early on I tried starting firefox in safe mode as one possible fix, and that didn't solve the problem. I just tried again right now with the fresh installation, and still no luck.
Any other ideas? -
[SOLVED] Google Chrome does not work on my T61
SOLVED. THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF SYMANTEC ENDPOINT PROTECTION.
Hello Everyone.
I wonder if anyone can use Google Chrome on T61.
I got my T61 from Hong Kong 5 months ago and I am using Windows Vista SP1 32 Bit Traditional Chinese.
After I installed Google Chrome, it couldn' t connect to any websites. I had tried to uninstall it and even reinstall my computer, but it still doesn't work. The Internet Explorer does work.
Surprisingly, I can connect to different websites using Google Chrome when I use Windows XP on Virtual PC. It seems that it's related to the OS itself. I will try to use Vista on Virtual PC, but I hope that you guys will be able to solve my problem.
Thanks you very much.

I am using an older version of Mozilla (i cannot see which version), but somehow this version is so old that I cannot use Hotmail or Internetbanking properly anymore. Therefor I wanted to update my Mozilla-program, but unfortunately this isn't possible. I downloaded your new version Firefox Setup 7.0.1.exe and I see this in the file 'downloads'.
If I want to click it, it says '“Firefox Setup 7.0.1(4).exe” is een uitvoerbaar bestand. Uitvoerbare bestanden kunnen virussen of andere code bevatten die uw computer kan beschadigen. Wees voorzichtig met het openen van dit bestand. Weet u zeker dat u “Firefox Setup 7.0.1(4).exe” wilt starten?'
Then I click 'Oke'....to tell the system I want to start the program. Then I get another pop-up: 'securitywarning......'
Then I click on ' continue' and I have to choose a program to open this program. I can choose from iexplore.exe or firefox.exe.
If I choose for firefox.exe.....nothing happens.
Quit strange. I am quit well with computers, but this is really strange to me.
Hopefully you can help me?
Best regrads,
Erwin WooningI finally figured out what was wrong. Since I had installed Google Chrome recently it already had the Adobe Flash Player imbedded in it.
When I uninstalled the flash player in Control Panel option the problem went away.

Eagerly waiting for your response on this issue.
Best Regards,You need to upgrade your copy of MS Office. You're using a version that is 8 years old (at least). You can buy Office 2011, which will work. You could also get a copy of Pages from the App Store, which is cheaper and will open Word files (though not perfectly). Or you could get a free Office clone, like OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

Help needed with identifying cause of Google Chrome crashes from a crash report
Hello,
I am trying to isolate a problem which is causing Google Chrome to crash. This is happening far too frequently - sometimes on opening, sometimes on web page loads and sometimes when viewing the preferences page.
I'm using a 2012 Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.4.
After many hours of trawling around the Internet and trying various suggestions, I am close to admitting defeat. Hopefully somebody here can save my sanity and point me towards a possible cause.
To date, these are some of the things that I have tried:
Replacing the 16GB of Crucial Ram with the stock Ram.
Logging in as a Guest user and opening Chrome.
Disabling all Chrome extensions (there are only 3 that I use anyway).
Uninstalling Chrome and all associated files that I could find, then reinstalling.
Booting into Safe Mode and loading Chrome.
None of these have made a difference. There have also been a couple of times when Firefox has crashed, too. Safari has been rock solid. Yes, I could just use Safari, but there are personal reasons why I need to use Chrome. I also need to locate this problem in case it is something that might effect other applications … or possibly even be a hardware problem.
Below is my most recent crash report. Frankly, it's contents are way outside of my comfort zone, so I am hoping that somebody will be able to help point me towards the relevant parts that might help me resolve this problem:
