  • Android/Google contacts to iPhone 5S

Hi, is there a way to transfer my google contacts from my old android phone to my new iPhone 5s, or do I have to enter each one manually?  Thank you for any help you can provide.

I found the instructions on the apple site. Here's the link and instructions in case someone else needs them. It worked great.

  • Address Book sync with google contacts *without* iPhone?

    Hi
I have all my contacts in google, but when I set this up in address book, although it says it will synch with google, it never does. I have read that this needs an iphone to work - I don't have an iphone, so how do I set up 2 way sync between google and address book, without buying mobileme or some such tool...
    Shaun

    can anyone answer this?
at some point, I remember being able to do this. 10.5.x maybe? With 10.6 . . . .
I do recall, however, that I stopped doing it because the sync went haywire. I did it the other way around: I have all my contacts in Address Book, so I exported them and uploaded the vCards to Gmail, after deleting all Gmail contacts. That's not such a great option. Surely this is well-automated by now?

  • Getting Google Contacts into iPhone: possible?

    Hi,
I am trying to get my contacts from gmail loaded into iPhone. Can anyone please give me a clue?
    Thanks,
    T

In gmail, go to your Contacts, and look for the Export link (hint: upper-right part of the screen). Export to CSV (I'm not sure whether you'll have better luck with the Google or Outlook format, honestly).
    Now grab this little program:
    http://homepage.mac.com/sroy/addressbookimporter/
which is free for a single use or $10 to keep, and use it to import those to Address Book.
Now sync your iPhone with Address Book, et voila.

  • Avatars from Google Contacts is not showing anymore on iPhone after sync in iTunes 10.7

Sorry for my English in advance.
Before update to iTunes 10.7, avatars from my Google Contacts was transfer to iPod Contacts well. After iTunes was update I had to connect with Google Contacts in iPhone “Information” (in Russian) menu again and after that newly create contacts in Google Contacts is transfer to iPhone without avatars.
    Please, help.

I was having the same issue too. I was hoping that apple will address this issue with a SW update or at least someone from apple would be kind enough to answer this thread.
After researching for a couple days I found a solution. It's not the most efficient, but it works. You'll need a CD-R or CD-RW with this method. The trick is you need to convert m4p file format to mpa or mp3 file format.
You can follow the following steps:
    1. Open iTunes
    2. Create a New Playlist: File -> New Playlist
    3. Drag the song(s) to the playlist you just created. Note: Depending on the file size you might only be able to burn just 1 song at a time
    4. Insert a Blank CD to your disk drive.
    5. Right click on the playlist then click "Burn Playlist to Disk." Then click burn. Make sure the Disc format is set to Audio CD.
    6. Once the disc is finished, click on the CD in the device section in iTunes. Right click the song and click "Create AAC Version." This will create a .mpa file into your iTunes.
    7. Copy that file to your iPhone and you're golden
Hope this helps guys. I know it's not the most elegant solution, but it works and now you can workout with those tunes. I know I've been quite frustrated because my tracks didn't show up, hopefully the new SW update will fix this.
I would appreciate any apple genius' solution that is more efficient as well.
    Cheers

  • IPhone 4 & iTunes 10 won't sync Google contacts after initial sync

I've set up and successfully synced iTunes 10.0.1.22 with my Google contacts and iPhone 4 once initially. When I change or revise my Google contacts either online with Gmail/Google or on the phone and re-sync nothing updates. New phone contacts don't update to Gmail nor does new Gmail contact info sync and update to phone.
Music, pictures, ringtones and apps all update and sync fine.
I do have the sync set to Google and have authenticated the account and password for Google.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I have the same issue where new contacts are not updated on iphone or google accounts, it seems the contacts do not automatically sync when checking mail. I previously used an android phone which synced all google data easily, though this remains a bug with apple iphone.
*Google contacts are only updated and synced when you connect your iphone to itunes and re-sync contacts.* This does not happen through 'push' notifications or syncs with google mail.
Shame, for such an expensive mobile, there are more faults with it than publicised. I've been an apple user for more than a decade, so many people were saying how amazing iphone is, though my experience has shown it still has many bugs to solve. Android completes some tasks much better than an iphone, where iphone excels in others. You can't have it all.

  • Same Apple ID forTwo iPhones but Sync Different Google Contacts?

We have two iPhones (4s and 3gs).  We want to be able to use the same Apple ID for both phones (so that we can share applications on both) but we want to sync to different contacts.  We want to sync one of the phones to Outlook and the other phone to Google Contacts.  Is this possible?  When we try to change to Google Contacts via the iTunes sync screen for that phone, it shows the warning: "Switching the sync provider will also affect iCloud and any other iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad that syncs with this user account.  Are you sure you want to switch the sync provider?"
Is there a way to make this work?  Thanks.

If you are asking can you have an Apple ID and an iCloud account then the answer is, yes. With iCloud it will  sync all your devices and computers. I'm not going to get into discussing rumours as that's frowned upon. Here's what Apple has published about iCloud Drive: https://www.apple.com/ca/ios/ios8/icloud-drive/

  • Synching iPhone Contacts through ITunes with Google Contacts.. DUPLICATES

I have an iPhone 3GS and a Windows 7 Computer. I can NOT figure out how to stop the duplication (or triplication +)of contacts from happening every single time i sync my phone to my google contacts.
I don't have outlook - so a few months ago when I got a new computer I set it up so my iTunes syncs my contacts with "Google Contacts". Not all my contacts, but some of them (no rhyme or reason that i can tell) duplicate everytime I sync. I've deleted directly from Google Contacts and also directly from IPhone - neither works. Any suggestions? My contacts lists on both ends are a mess.
Oh - one other thing - I went into iTunes and pressed "configure" in the sync contacts section -- and it does nothing. I get no box that has settings. Is this a bug?

Then you do not want to sync contacts directly with a supported application through iTunes on your computer. You should set up your syncing with google as outlined here:
    http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740
To get rid of your duplicates, follow the directions here:
Deselect Sync Contacts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by selecting Apply, and leave this deselected from here on out or the contacts on your iPhone will be duplicated again.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select your Google account.
Turn Contacts off for over the air syncing. A warning message should be provided indicating this will erase all contacts downloaded from and being kept synchronized with your Google online address book along with an option to save these contacts locally on your iPhone. Decline this prompt.
This will not erase the contacts synced directly with your computer via the iTunes sync process.
Follow this by turning Contacts back on for over the air syncing.
You will be provided a merge prompt, which you want to select.
This will get rid of the duplicates as long as you leave Sync Contacts deselected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Doing both is not required and does nothing but duplicate the contacts on your iPhone.

  • How do I sync Google Contacts groups to iPhone

I have all my Google contacts in different Groups.  I would like to have those same Google contacts groups synced to iPhone Contacts app. I followed instructions to sync iPhone Contacts with my Google account.  All my Google contacts did sync to iPhone but there were no iPhone contact groups created. So I have one huge list of contacts. How do I sync the Google contacts groups?  Thank you

Hi - from the"iPhone 6 User Guide for iOS 8.1",I followed the following steps:
Use your Google contacts: Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, tap your Google account,
    then turn on Contacts.
So I entered Gmail and password. Then withing Contacts app I pressed the Sync link.  Afterwards I've got all contacts in one big list, just not categorized by Google groups.

how to copy all contacts from iphone 3gs to google nexus 5 ?

Copy the contacts to a supported application on the computer to sync to the Nexus, or you can sync the contacts to a Google account, which you will have with the Nexus and then sync them to the Nexus.

  • Bluetooth iphone 4 macbook pro isync addressbook Google contacts

    Hi all,
Hope you're enjoying your devices, when your not troubleshooting them here
This doesn't appear to be a difficult request but its proving beyond me and I'm seeking help.
I would like to sync my Macbook Pro's addressbook with my iPhone 4 - the help file in Addressbook suggests its possible and my iPhone 4 and my Macbook Pro pair but don't connect. I sync doesn't like it and keeps overwriting all my data in Google contacts, that I ulitmately want to update with the information I have stored in the Addressbook, once I've ensured all the data on my phone is transfered successfullly also.
    Any suggestions?

You can't sync contacts with an iPhone via Bluetooth, nor is iSync compatible with iPhones.
Use iTunes to sync contacts by following the instructions in the iPhone User Guide.
Or if you upgrade to OS X 10.7.x Lion, you can use iCloud.

  • HT1245 How do I delete my existing iPhone contacts then sinc just my google contacts?

How do I delete my existing iPhone contacts then sinc just my google contacts?

Idealy you should move your itunes content from your old computer to your new one
    Here are your options
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Then just sync your iPhone with the new computer. It will ask to erase but as everything in in your new itunes this is OK. Then choose what to sync back onto your iphone
If you no longer have the old computer here is how to restore your library from the iPhone
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Then you can sync your machine with the new computer.
If you do not care about this and just want to extract the items mentioned
I found this and it will extract your Contacts and messages.

  • Sync iPhone to Google Contacts?

Can you use Google Sync to get all of your iPhone contacts into Google? All my updated contacts are on iPhone/Outlook. If I use Google Sync will it send the contacts on my iPhone to Google, or will it sync my extremely limited Google contacts to the iPhone and erase the other contacts?

You have your updated contacts in your outlook, correct? Then you can export all your contacts to CSV ( windows) file. In you google/ gmail account, you import the csv file you created. It will appear as contacts for your gmail. You don't have to use iTunes. Go directly to iphone, setting mail, contact and calendar with google/gmail account. Follow this setup: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740
My suggestion: to delete all your contacts in your iphone, and forget for syncing with outlook. Contacts will always be updated in both sides. Without ITunes, and outlook.
If you still need updated contacts in outlook, do export/ import in CSV file from gmail to outlook.
    Hope it will solve.

  • Syncing iphone (icloud) contacts to google contacts

    Good day, everyone.
I've followed the steps here (which are the same as the Apple.com version of this article): http://support.Google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2753077. Unfortunately, I do not see any contacts transferring from my device to my Google contacts. I'll reiterate that I've followed the directions in the support article to a "T." I've set the Google contacts account on my iphone as the default for contacts, and yet still no transference. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions as to what might be wrong? I see that the set up procedure for this works for many others.

Log-in to whichever email you want to get the contacts from. It depends on the email client, but if you are using gmail, click on the contacts tab, there will be a settings button, most likely a gear symbol, and select export contacts. Make sure you export them as V-cards, that's the contact file apple products recognize.
Once you have your contacts exported, log into iCloud in your web browser, go to contacts and import them there. Once they are uploaded in iCloud you will see them update on every device you have that iCloud account signed into, as long as you have contacts switch on, on those devices.
