Google events added on iPhone not showing up on iCal, Google events added in iCal not showing up on iPhone

I have been having this problem consistently for a few months. If I delete my Google account from my phone, I can then re-enter it, and events will synch. A few times, I have also had to delete my Google account from my Air. Anybody else seen (and, hopefully, fixed) this? Needless to say, an up-to-date calendar is one of the more critical things for my iPhone to have.

By "iCal" do you mean Calendar on your Mac? If so, I'd suggest you stop using that entirely and just use the Google calendar web interface and the Calendar app on your phone. I have absolutely no problems with that set up (one iPhone, two iPads and an MBA). The Calendar program on the Mac just adds a layer of complexity to the process.

  • Google calendar event color tags not showing up in IPhone iCal - any fixes?

I have an iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1) and am trying to sync my google calendar to the built in iCal app. The events sync both ways, but the color tags I assign to each event does not sync. It used to bother me that the only way to color code events in google calendar was to create multiple calendars, but it seems as though google calendar has added the ability to change the color for each event so I'm going back to google calendar. For example, my classes are in blue, exams are in pink, meetings are turquoise, etc.
I synced my google calendar to the iPhone iCal (via settings, turned on calendar tab listed under gmail account that I use for my google calendar), and all the events sync correctly (can add events on google calendar or iPhone and it syncs), but the colors do not sync. When I view my iPhone iCal all the events from my google calendar are the same color, even if they have different color tags when viewed online. Also, when I add an event on the iPhone iCal, the event syncs to the google calendar but there is no option to change the color tag for the event and it shows up as the default grey color when viewed online.
Is there a way to fix this? Or is this something that google and apple have not resolved?
I would prefer not to use a third party app, but I might consider it if there is no other fix. Thanks!

Hello lulu and welcome to the Palm forums.
I don't know of a way to make the color codes from iCal sync with the color codes on the Palm Z22. The Missing Sync for Palm OS has more features than Palm Desktop, but I also don't believe it will sync the category color codes.

  • Google calendar events not showing on Iphone calendar

    Hi,
I've linked my mozilla Thunderbird calendar with Google and Google with Iphone.
When adding event on Iphone it appears in Thunderbird, but not the other way round (not in calendar, not in email, nothing).. what to do?
That in fact is the one trick I need it to do as I want to be able to enter event when planned while on the phone!
    Hope someone can help me.
    Thanks!

Have you got a reason to use Thunderbird at all?
Why not just use Google and iPhone. They should both sync perfectly together
Google is currently sending info to the iPhone and Thunderbird, but the odd part is that the iPhone is not sending to Google, which it should easily.
Your iPhone should have Google as an account which is know to work very well.
Your PC will pick up and sync properly to Google as well. I think Thunderbird is the issue here

  • Syncing is not happening when adding events to google calendar via iPhone or laptop

Google Calendar is the only calendear that I use on my iPhone.  My Google Calendar has a total of 8 "sub calendars".  If I add an event to my Google calendar via my new iPhone 5S or via the lap top-the two devices are not communicating with one another-therefore not updating each other.
I just transitioned to the iPhone 5S last Sunday.  All settings used on my previous iPhone 4 were saved and transferred to new device.
I have attempted to make changes to settings while the iPhone is syncing to laptop via ITUNES and by searching General Settings-Mail/Contacts/Calendars on phone itself, but no change has granted what I'm looking for, and I'm making more of a mess for myself. Pressing the Calendars app on phone-its home screen used to read:
    All Calendars
    IMac Calendars
All Google Calendar     *with the possiblity to check off which calendars would be seen on my phone.  This NO LONGER APPEARS this way.
    My choices now read:
    Hide All Calendars
All Google Calendar -with the option to check off all 8 sub calendars.
Google calendar is not a "new" account, again, this was set up on my old phone and working up until the switch over.
    Appreciate your help.

  • Events added to calendar on iPhone not showing up in iCal

    Hello,
I'm having a (new) problem syncing my calendars. If I add an event on my iPhone, it simply doesn't show up on my iCal. I've tried resetting the sync history but that hasn't fixed it. Any ideas? This is very annoying!

    rastro2,
Open "Settings" on the iPhone>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks>Accounts>your MobileMe account and turn off "Calendars," when prompted delete data, and wait two minutes, then turn "Calendars" back on. When asked merge the data, make that choice, and wait patiently. If you are able, I recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to make the change.
Hopefully that will correct the problem.

  • IPhone 4 iOS 4.1 - Calendar App List View Not Showing Events Immediately

After upgrading to iOS 4.1, whenever I open the calendar in List view mode the events do not show up immediately. I have to navigate to the "Day" style or "Month" style before I can see any events. All the events are viewable normally in both the "Day" & "Month" style calendar but the "List" view.
I regularly sync my iPhone with iCal events and with Google calendar. I did delete and re-added the Google account but the problem persists.
Has anyone faced this problem? I will be doing a full restore again today. My wife's iPhone 3GS is working fine with the 4.1 build of 3GS.

    Hello all,
I have the same issue with my iPhone 3G under iOs 4.1 (8B117) with one local calendar and three Google calendars. The first time the Calendar application is loaded, if it opens in "List" view, no events are displayed. Switching to another view is enough to get the items back. In "Day" and "Month" views, the events eventually appear after some time (~5 to 10 seconds).
My boyfriend has the same problem on his iPhone 4 under iOS 4.1 (less annoying because of multi-tasking).
Hopefully this will be fixed in iOS 4.2... :-S

  • Calendar event not showing up on iPhone 5s

I created an even in gmail and it shows up on my gmail calendar and in my calendar on my macbook air but it doesn't show up on my iphone as an event.  Under the mail setting the calendar button is on.  I thought that is all I needed to do.  Please help this is important to me.

This is a tip from user Meg St. Clair:
You enable your Google calendar on the phone by entering your Gmail credentials in Settings >Mail, Contacts, Calendars >Add Account.
Make sure that "Calendar" is enabled for that account.
Make sure that you have your Google calendar set as the default calendar in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Calendar >  Default Calendar.
Now, any events you add to your Google calendar on your phone will sync to every other device that you sync your Google calendar to.
Events that you have already added to calendars listed as "On My iPhone" in the Calendar app will not sync to your Google calendar.

  • How do I get my iPhone calendar events to show up on my Google calendar?

I have an iPhone 4s. When I add a calendar event on my Google calendar it shows up fine on my iPhone calendar. I can delete that event on my iPhone calendar and it deletes it on my Google calendar so I know there's a "link." BUT, when I add an item on my iPhone calendar it doesn't show up on my Google calendar. I've tried waiting 15 minutes (the refresh time for Fetch) , and refreshing the calendar page but no luck.
    Help?
    DWM

That response would work save one detail: This is my work phone so I get meetings and such added via corporate email, etc. Those go by default to my iPhone calendar so I was hoping there was a way to just sync everything that ends up on my iPhone calendar to my Google calendar.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Suddenly, events entered in Calendar on iPhone are not showing up in iCal or iCloud

Until late November, i had an iPhone 4s with iOS 5.   Then i got an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.  As previously, when i would enter an event in the Calendar, that data would also show up in my iCal calendar and on my iCloud calendar, until the last couple of days.  Now, new entries are not showing up on iCal or iCloud.  I encountered the problem that my iPhone, 64G, is being backed up to the iCloud and after two backups, taking up 2.4G each, my 5G of iCloud storage was used up.  I speculated that this was why my phone data stopped syncing to the other calendars on the computer and cloud, though i did not know for sure.  I deleted one of the two back ups and am about to delete the other one.  I have never had this problem of running out of iCloud storage on my other phone.  According to Settings>iCloud>Storage, i had 89MB.  But since i have deleted one of the 2.4G backups (which was "incomplete") my new entries are still not showing up in iCal and on the iCloud.
Is there a way to get this feature to work again?
Are there things i can check or uncheck in settings or in Calendar or  ??   that will get this to work well as it did in iOS 5?

ckuan -  thank you for replying.  i am really desperate for help.  I have wasted so much time on this. I was on hold with Apple support for a long time and then had a call with a rep that lasted over an hour but he didn't know anything about issues of these kinds.  i was put on hold a lot while he consulted.  He did agree that the data wasn't syncing from iPhone to iCloud and iCal because the iCloud storage was used up by the iPhone back ups.  So he advised deleting one of them.  I now have 2.4G of storage on iCloud.  Am i wrong to think that should be enough?   I still ave the original complete back up (2.4g) undeleted, in case there some reason that i need it. i don't like deleting things i don't have a good understanding of.
Following your instructions, i went to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.  I then scrolled down to Calendars and at the bottom, i see where it says Default Calendar.  This raised new questions for me which i will ask you/others now:
On the Default Calendar page, there is a heading that says iCloud and there is a second heading that says my gmail email address, [email protected].  Under the iCloud heading, there is a list of 8 "calendars," called Work, Family, Pets, Home, etc.  Under the gmail address heading, there is only one option listed, which is my gmail username.  When i went to the Default Calendar option, as i think you suggested if i understood you right, i found that the Calendar with the checkmark next to it was the gmail user name, under the gmail address heading.  Presumably, this is the same setting i had on my 4s with iOS 5.
I wanted to follow your instruction to change this to iCloud as Default Calendar. but the only option i have is to choose only one of those 8 "calendars," either Work, or Pets, or Home, etc.  Does this make sense?   The only reason i know for having these many different calendars was to give different colors to the different event categories. I didn't really want them to be separate calendars. i just wanted to use the color coding for type of event in my overall calendar.
I don't know why this is suddenly so complicated and confusing, after working fine  for the first two or three weeks i've had the new iPhone.  Suddenly, when i enter events in Calendar, it's not reaching the cloud.  If this is because my gmail and/or google user name was checked as the default calendar, that was not a setting i would've recently changed.  I never would  have set my iPhone to only use one of the iCloud sub-calendars at my default calendars.
But right now, per your instructions, i have checked Settings>Mail.Contacts,Calendars>Calendars>Default Calendar to iCloud>Home (Home being one of my 8 sub-calendars).  When i look on the Mail,Contacts,Calendars setting list, under Default calendar, it now says Home, instead of my gmail username.  Just to be clear, there is no way to check iCloud on the Default Calendar page.  i have tried checking it, but it's just a somewhat grayed out heading and doesn't respond to attempts to check it, it's not offered as a Calendar option. Only the various sub-calendars are offered a default calendar options, under the grayed out iCloud heading.  So, i selected Home, for no particular reason. i have lots of entries under different categories.
Here is the result:   still no new entries showed up in iCloud or iCal.  In January, a couple of days ago,  i entered three dental appointments, for which i have always used Health as what i thought was a category (not a separate  "calendar").  The color of Health events is green.  The color of Home events is Blue.  After changing the Default Calendar from gmail email address>user name to iCloud>Home (blue), the dental appointment in January did not show up.  But when i went into the first dental appointment event>edit and changed the "calendar" to Home, it then showed up on the calendar.  The other two dental appointments which were still Health did not show up.
Then, i changed the first dental appointment that is showing up in January back to Health (green).  It still shows up, now, colored green, even though Home/blue is now my default calendar.  But the two other dental appointments are not showing up.
Does this mean if want to use my Calendar and have the data backed up in iCloud and iCal, from now on, i need to use only one sub calendar and give up  using the different color codes because iOS 8 is forcing me to choose only one sub calendar to be my whole calendar, and the only way to use different colors for different categories of events would be to first enter it as the default sub calendar (such as dental appointment>Home), and then go back and edit it into the correct sub calendar (such as changing it to the correct category, Health) to show the correct one instead of the "default" one?
Why was this made so much more difficult and complicated than it used to be?  It was working normally up  until a couple of days ago.
What i need, if possible, is info on what setting i can use to go back to using my gmail address user name as my default calendar, so that it can just work properly as it did before.  It seems ridiculous that i am forced by iCloud to use a sub category as my default calendar and everything that isn't entered as that subcategory will not be processed in iCloud.  Why does iCloud provide these sub calendar category options at all, if it's going to force people to only be able to use one of them?
    What am i missing here?
Is there a setting that would enable combining all subcategories as one calendar, called iCloud, but where i could still use the different colors for different categories?

  • Events showing on iPhone but not in MobileMe or iCal - Help!

Hello. I wonder if someone can help please. This problem has been going on for a little while and is not specific to the iPhone 4, it also occurred on my iPhone 3G before this so it's not hardware specific.
I use MobileMe to sync Contacts, Calendars and Bookmarks to my iMac. It works beautifully and I'm happy with that. However, I've started to notice that recent birthday events (simple annual repeating events with a title something like "John Wood's birthday) are repeating themselves on my iPhone - only. In fact, sometimes one is repeated and then a slightly differently titled event also appears on the iPhone, like "John's birthday" plus "John Wood's birthday". The odd thing is I can't find the duplicate or slightly different events anywhere in iCal or the MobileMe calendar and I also can't delete them from the iPhone as there is no Edit option.
One example is that I had an event for my friend Jane Mulberry, which said "Jane Mulberry's birthday". This was set to repeat every year and I would then add some text into the Notes field indicating whether I'd sent a card or not. Jane got married, so at some stage I must have edited or added another entry, as there is an additional entry (only on the iPhone) which says "Jane Cumberland's birthday" (her new married name). So, I have two entries but can only edit the older one in her maiden name. The new one (Jane Cumberland's birthday) cannot be edited and I can't find any trace of it in iCal or MobileMe.
I'm rather bemused and have been looking at this occasionally over the last few months without finding a solution - and it's getting a bit irritating now!
Please note that I am rather reluctant to start deleting whole calendars etc, although I do appreciate something drastic might have to be attempted. It's just that my husband and I use the calendar a lot! He syncs his iPod Touch via MobileMe as well and we have a calendar each.
By the way, the birthday events issue is only in mine.
I hope this is a clear explanation of the issue.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you.
P.S. I don't sync any contacts, calendar events or mail via iTunes. It's all done only via MobileMe.

The entries you are now seeing are held in a special Birthdays calendar that has been implemented in iOS4.
The Calendar gets its information from your Contacts on the iPhone.
It can be switched off by deselecting it in the Calendars page (top left button in the Calendars app)
The Mac also has a similar Birthdays Calendar that gets its info from the Apple Address Book and can be switched on/off as required (Find it under "Subscriptions" in the left hand pane of iCal, or in Preferences, General, Show Birthday Calendar)

  • Google calendar appointments not showing on iPhone calendar

All my Google calendar appointments used to show up on my iPhone's calendar. Now they are not showing up on my iphone's calendar. What is interesting is that appointments made prior to last week are showing up on the calendar. However, apppointments made in Google calendar after last week are NOT showing up on my iPhone calendar.
Any suggestions on how to make this work? It used to work and then something strange happened ...

MAGIC happened for me as well.
    Here's what I did:
    (1) I added the Google calendar using the CALDAV option - i.e., go to Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendar and then choose Add Calendar. Here is a link to the instructions I followed:
    http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=151674&ctx=cb&src=cb &cbid=-1g0evm93kqt46&cbrank=3
Here are the steps that I followed:
To sync with your device, follow these steps:
Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
    Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account...
    Select Other.
    Select Add CalDAV Account.
    Enter your account information:
In the Server field, enter [ google.com ]
In the Username field, enter your full Google Account or Google Apps email address.
In the Password field, enter your Google Account or Google Apps password.
In the Description field, enter the name you'd like to appear on the account.
Select Next at the top of your screen.
After you've completed setup, open the Calendar app on your device and syncing will automatically begin.
After this, there were 2 entries in my iphone calendar for every gmail calendar appointment - i.e., each entry appeared twice. So, I deleted the calendar I had just added following the advice above and now everything works.
Strange behavior but I am glad that my gmail calendars are now appearing in my iphone.

    Hi
I have the a similar problem - only I can't actually get the calendar to show up. I've added the account and it's showing Mail and Notes but not Calendar. But I'd like it to show the outlook calendar.
    I'm going to
Go to settings > mail contacts calendar
    select your account that's affected
But under that account there isn't a calendar showing and I can't see any options to add it?

  • HT1296 When syncing Outlook on my computer w/my iphone, new events put into my iphone calender did not show up on my computer in Outlook. Is this the only way it works, Outlook to iphone and not both ways?

When syncing my Outlook calender with my iphone calender, only items from Outlook synced. Events I added to my iphone calender did NOT show up on my Outlook calender. Is this the way it works, only one way?

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and just confirm that you haven't selected a calendar such as the one listed under On My iPhone (if that's listed), and that your have selected your Outlook calendar here as your default.  Assuming you have, if you are syncing your calendar using iTunes (rather than iCloud), you may need to reset your sync history in iTunes.  Follow the troubleshooting steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692.

  • ICal in new work computer not showing events on home Mac or iPhone

HELP! Just got my new work computer (a MacBook) and I'm trying to get my iCal to sync from my Mobile Me account. I have set the preferences to sync iCal calendars and have synced several times. The events that I have already entered that are showing on my home MacBook Pro and my iPhone are still now showing on my new MacBook. Am I missing a step??

Let make sure I under stand: You have a home MacBook Pro and an iPhone, both of which are syncing. But your new Macbook at work/office will not sync.
You have gone to the Mobleme preferences on the new office MacBook, logged in, selected sync, Clicked the advanced tab and added the work Macbook to the list of Registered computers.
Then you went back and checked the "Synchronize with MobleMe" checkbox.
Choose "Manually" at this point. Then check what you want to sync, such as Calendars.
Now you go back and select "Advanced again."
Select your home computer from the list.
    Click "Reset Sync Data"
Make sure the arrow is going from the cloud to the computer.
Click replace and it should put the data in the cloud (which is from your home computer) on the computer you have selected.
Let me know if this works out.
