Google Exchange mail error

Wow... I keep finding bugs.
I just restored my iPhone 4 since it was resetting every few min after the initial restore from my 3G's backup.
Now however it seems Exchange and google or email links maybe are causing havoc on my device.
If I enter the contacts app and I press on the email address of anybody so that I can start composing an email, the phone freezes, displaying yellow/brown lines over the screen and then promptly restarting, works every single time...
Anyone else have these issues?
Edit: If I disable contacts from Google sync, the error goes away... but the mail app just crashed the entire phone again? Seems something is still wrong, iPhone just freezed after clicking a new mail link.

if a restore did not work.. then your only option is to take your phone to the apple store and get it replaced.. Theres not settings on the phone that would cause this behavior normally

Issue with exchange mail via Wifi
Sending and receiving exchange mail via mobile network (3G/4G) works perfectly.
Once I arrive at home and my device switches to our wifi network issues start.
Sending a mail results in an error message: "sending e-mail not successful. Error at delivery of this message."
Mail can be found in the outbox of the exchange account.
However...afterwards it seems the mail has been sent anyway. Although he's removed from the outbox, not in the sent box and arriving in the recipients mailbox anyway.
Mails do not come in as long as connected to Wifi.
Once Wifi is deactivated and device switches to mobile network, mails enter.
What can be the issue and how can I solve this? I don't want to switch off/on the wifi each time to check/send mails from my office/exchange account.
Thank you.

• E-71 Mail for Exchange "Exchange Server Error"

Would appreciate some urgent help.
I am using the E-71 with latest phone update and M4Ex 2.09.158 installed.
E-mail and Calendar have been set to sync.
While the first few syncs are OK (approx first 10 syncs), it subsequently develops/indicates an error with the message "Exchange Server Error. Please try again later." I noticed that this usually happens after e-mails have been synced. When it tries to sync the Calendar, the error message pops up. E-mails are synced, but not Calendar.
While I have resorted to do a full resync everytime the error message appears, this requires me to reset the e-mail profile settings everytime. Full resync is only a turnaround solution in the circumstances.
Cheers
Does anyone or someone at Nokia Support have a solution to these errors?

just checking if u have tested these settings on a different phone?
also what range of entries are u syncing? mebbe try syncing it for 2 weeks to see if the same error comes up?
if my post helped u out, please click the Star next to it to add some KUDOS to my name

• ICU shows errors during the connection to exchange mail

Hello everyone,
I have the following problem. When connection the exchange mail, during the synchronisation, such error appears on my device's screen:
"Cannot Get Mail.

After few minutes, when errors on the screen are confirmed many times, the mail is synchronised and messages are downloaded from the server to the device (e.g on iPhone5 iOS 7.1).

Does anyone have an idea why the mail has such delay in synchronising ? Also why the ssl handshake and errors on the screen occurrs? The email domain has a valid certificate.
Thanks in advance!!

Hope this helps someone like me, who has trying to figure out what went wrong. I have an iPhone 3G and ActiveSync to Exchange 2003 was working perfect for month's. All of a sudden today it stopped syncing my inbox and my battery just about died? Searched and Searched, rebooted Exchange, removed email account info, still not luck keep getting "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed" message. The weird thing is I could get to my sent items, Calendar and AD contacts? But a thread in another Apple forum opened my eyes to what the problem was...a corrupt email in my inbox. Not sure what email it was I pretty much deleted every email I had after the last one I received on the iPhone. But it fixed the problem, no messing with Exchange virtual directories...nothing...just deleted a corrupt email!
Hope this helps someone.....

• Installing a Google Apps mail account as an Exchange cause Camera FaceTime and Photo Booth to disappear from the Deskotp and are not retrievable. A deletion of the mail account returns the functions immediately

Brand ne iPad 3. Installing a Google Apps mail account as Exchange kills my Camera, Face Time and Photo Booth. They disappear from the Desktop and are nowhere to find or retrieve. Deleting the mail accoun t brings them back immediately. I have already full reset the device and updated the software with no result.
Is there a solution?

Yep, Meg, you were right and here are the steps which cure the issue. Disable camera is actually a basic Google Apps setting .
Log in to your Google Apps Control Panel.
Click on your 'Settings' tab.
Under the 'Org Settings' tab locate 'Mobile Settings/Device Settings'
Enable 'Allow camera'.
Save changes.
Re-Install Google Apps E-mail account
It works perfectly fine now.
Footy, my cat, sends you nice regards as well.

• UTL.MAIL error ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 501 Address Syntax Error in

Hi,
I am new to the forum so please excuse if I post incorrectly without conforming to the standards.
We need to send mails using the UTL.MAIL package and have installed them on the database.
Whenever I am trying to send an email I am getting the following error:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 501 Address Syntax Error in
[email protected]
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_MAIL", line 654
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_MAIL", line 671
ORA-06512: at line 2
The test code which I am running is as follows:
BEGIN
UTL_MAIL.send(sender => 'test <[email protected]>',
recipients => '[email protected]',
subject => 'UTL_MAIL test subject',
message => 'UTL_MAIL test body');
END;
I have tried different combinations:
BEGIN
UTL_MAIL.send(sender => 'test "<[email protected]>"',
recipients => '[email protected]',
subject => 'UTL_MAIL test subject',
message => 'UTL_MAIL test body');
END;
even tried
BEGIN
UTL_MAIL.send(sender => '[email protected]',
recipients => '[email protected]',
subject => 'UTL_MAIL test subject',
message => 'UTL_MAIL test body');
END;
Everytime I am getting the same error.
This seems to be working with an exchange mail server but never on the SMTP server.
In the SMTP server logs the sender address is not having the angular brackets <> unlike the other mails which are being sent over.
It seems that the SMTP server is pretty strict and the SMTP admin will not change any settings on the server.
The oracle version is as follows
Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
Could you please help me out with a solution.
Some how the angular brackets are geting stripped off (which UTL MAIL package generally does), Is there any way in which I can include the angular brackets.

I dislike UTL_MAIL - clunky and poor abstraction interface, and not well written.
Had a look at the code. It does this:
WHILE (ALL_RCPTS IS NOT NULL) LOOP
UTL_SMTP.RCPT(MAIL_CONN,'<' || GET_ADDRESS(ALL_RCPTS) || '>');
END LOOP;The GET_ADDRESS() function process the ALL_RCPTS parameter, returns the 1st address from it, and updates the (in/out) parameter with the remaining string.
SQL> var address varchar2(200);
SQL> exec :address := '<[email protected]>,[email protected]';
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL> exec dbms_output.put_line( 'get_address='||UTL_MAIL.GET_ADDRESS(:address)||' address='||:address );
get_address=[email protected] address=[email protected]
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL> exec dbms_output.put_line( 'get_address='||UTL_MAIL.GET_ADDRESS(:address)||' address='||:address );
get_address=[email protected] address=
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL> The address is explicitly surrounded by brackets as per the RFC. So that is what your SMTP server should see.
If not - perhaps then our UTL_MAIL versions do not match. Cannot recall from what version I pulled and unwrapped the UTL_MAIL package code I have.
Personally though, I've ceased using UTL_MAIL a while back. It lacks in may respects. I have written my own mail package that supports multiple attachment, complex Mime formatting, attachments of 20+ MB in size, and so on - running on the UTL_SMTP interface (that provides the transport layer for sending mail). And for issues like you are facing, I suggest considering using UTL_SMTP directly.
