hi
just replied, but noticed that your screen shot looks like an instruction page not the actual portfolio page. i'm not sure where, but i've seen an instruction page somewhere that shows the 'import' button. the question is, is it on the actual page. thanks for responding.

Hi -
Here's what I see on my computer in both Safari 2.0.4
and Firefox 2.0:
In both cases, the "preview import" button does not
work.

  • Why does Firefox have problems printing Yahoo finance portfolio pages?

Current versions (34.0) of Firefox on Windows and Mac both have printing problems when printing from the Yahoo Finance portfolio website. I don't have problems when printing from IE, Safari, or Opera. Firefox prints a header on page 1 then pages 2 and 3 on top of each other. It doesn't include every stock that I had in my portfolio either. The portfolio page has an interesting feature where it keeps the header of the page at the top and scrolls the rest of the page under it. This probably is what is messing up FF's printing but the other browser vendors don't have a problem. I'm working this problem for my father-in-law who's running Windows 7 while I'm on a Mac running Yosemite. I can duplicate the problem on Windows 7, XP, and OSX all running the latest version of FF. To test, I created a portfolio with a bunch of random stocks then tries printing. I got perfect output on every browser except FF.
Sorry, I'm not installing any other Firefox software. This problem is on the platforms I mentioned. I can submit a pdf of sample output, both good and bad, if you like.

More info. I have AdBlock running and thought that might have been the reason I could print from Safari but installing AdBlock on Firefox gave me the same results. Yahoo has a bunch of ads under the header and some use Flash. Having them there doesn't affect printing on other web browsers. I created a pdf file then opened it in a drawing problem and noticed a huge blank block in the middle of page one. This is what is pushing the stock data down to page 2. It shouldn't be there so FF is interpreting the ad area with the scrolling as a large block instead of ignoring it. I added three images. The first shows a correct page 1 (Safari), while the next two show how FF prints it.

  • FF 4 Problem with Google Finance, Nasdaq auto price update

After upgrading to Firefox 4, Google Finance and Nasdaq.com doesn’t update the stock price automatically (Need to reload the page to see the last price). Yahoo Finance works well.

'On Windows 7, Vista, and Server 2008, Adobe Reader 10.1 installs ARMsvc.exe as part of the Updater. It is a Windows Service that runs in a System context. The new service enables silent and automatic updates on machines where a user has configured the application for automatic updates.'
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/armsvc-exe-process-reader-10.html
So if you have Adobe Reader 10.1 then you've got this file. try checking processes in Task Manager (all users). It'll be there.
As for how it got there, and the coincident dl'ing of the new Reader with the malfunction in IE, I've still got no idea. I don't let ANYTHING autoupdate. Not even Windows update (it downloads the files and notifies me; I then choose which ones I wish to install, and do it manually). And I'm still very curious as to how Adobe Reader was changed to 'auto update' following the installation of the armsvc.exe files on 12/18/2014.
And thanks for the tip on pasting!

  • I can no longer access Google Finance

I have a 1st generation iPhone and today I wasn't able to access Google Finance to look at my portfolio.  Is this a Safari or a Google problem?
    TIA
    -Mark

I keep some pictures in the picture files and they show up.  The photos that I used to keep in iPhoto (which disappeared on upgrade) are not accessible in word.  If you click on photo the file location (in Word) looks for iPhoto and comes up blank.  If you try to enter the file location for "Photos" which is pictures/photolibrary this is greyed out and not accessible.  The only way I have been able to do it is export the photos to a folder and choose the file.  This is a pain.

  • Google Finance gadge on iGoogle does not seem to work in Firefox, works on IE and Chrome.

I am running Windows 72-bit with the latest patches. Also, running Firefox 8.0.1. For the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that iGoogle page loads ok, but the Google Finance gadget does not load. It just shows zeros in three rows. At the same time, both IE and Chrome work just fine, so the problem may be with Google gadget interaction with Firefox.

    Try this solution:

I have gone through all the troubleshooting information and still cannot get into the function. I downloaded the Maxthon browser to see if I could access Google groups and finace and I was able to sign in. This leads me to suspect there is an issue with FireFox. This problem just started this past Monday. Prior to this there were no issues.

  • Snow Leopard and Safari 4 breaks Google Finance Charts

Ever since i upgraded to Snow Leopard, the Stocks Charts in Google Finance stops updating (although the price still changes). I have to manual click refresh to get the latest daily charts, which is suppose to update every 2min based on my setting. I already updated Adobe Flash to latest version.
I do not have this problem when on Leopard. Any one have same issue and have a solution?

    HI,
Go to Google and look for Help/Support and see if they have updated their site to be compatible with 10.6
If you are interested, Bloomberg offers free chart data also that updates without having to reload the page constantly.

  • Firefox crashes when I load individual stock charts in Google Finance

Starting about 3 weeks ago, whenever I load Google Finance and load an individual stock chart, firefox crashes. All instances of the browser crash, so it is very disruptive.
There are certain stock charts that cause crashes more often than others, but it happens several times each day with different charts.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I had this same problem - but I figured out that it could be fixed by removing the "technicals" (such as moving averages, etc.) from the individual charts. There is a button below the chart to turn these off - you'll probably have to let flash time out and crash before you can click it, though. Hope this works for you!

  • Importing problem-iCal won't recognize .csv files

I've recently upgraded to 10.4.9 from 10.3.9 on my Power PC iMac G5. The old version of iCal had no problem seeing downloaded .csv files and importing them. The new version won't see them or import them. Under 10.3.9, all I had to do was double click on the downloaded .csv file and it would import all events into iCal. Now, nothing happens. I'm a basic user and don't know about scripting or anything else. Any help?

    YES! SUCCESS!
I found two ways of doing this. After searching the net, I found this online app on this guys website that worked the best:
    http://manas.tungare.name/projects/yahoo2ical/
It says it's a "yahoo" csv converter, but it worked fine for my outlook csv file.
The other option is, if you have an account with google, like a gmail account, you can use their google calendar to import your csv file. Once you've done that, you can subscribe to that calendar you imported via the "share" option. Just get the .ics address. This took a couple tries on google's site to import, but it worked.

  • Fixing import problem in iMovie HD

I found a fix for the importing problem some people have been experiencing in iMovie HD. A google search turned up this webpage
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/vt3/10228
I tried this and it worked. Basically the problem on import is linked to a Core Audio problem that can be resolved by opening Garageband and playing a few notes with the desktop keyboard. I had to do this a few times and try and play my video footage in iMovie a few times, but it eventually worked and I was able to import with no problem.

    Thanks for mentioning it.
There have been several mentions of this here in iMovie Discussions, but older messages 'drop off' the page, and so sometimes they're not visible any more.
    Thanks for the timely reminder.

  • Ver. 34 uses megadata in just days. YHOO mail, finance, portfolio -requested desktop versions. Why? How to stop this?

Shock and surprise. Obtained Ver. 34 from playstore just days ago. I loaded desktop requests of Titantv, Yahoo mail, yahoo finance, and finance portfolio. Firefox consumed 500MB of data in just that time period. I also have Ghostery and probably had a couple of Wikipedia pages open. Galaxy S5 on Verizon Prepaid. I don't get much data each month but I never really needed much either. Got to fix it or I can't use FF, but FF works better than Opera, Chrome, and Dolphins for displaying desktop version of sites.

Try this add-on to save some bandwith on Firefox (this will help for sure when you a are using it, not so sure when not using firefox but should help some): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/janus-proxy-configurator/?src=search note: this is also a proxy, but it will automatically compress http-using websites. Also, search and download "opera data saver max" in the Google Play App Store to compress ALL of your mobile data, to save LOTS of bandwidth. This compresses all data out of the device, like an internet connection from the Facebook app. But this app (opera data saver max) should help with your Firefox data issues and make it a little faster.

  • Firefox not updating google finance page

When I go to my bookmarks, firefox is not updating google finance page, 1 week now, works OK in Chrome. Tried resetting, (lost my scapbook info, despite backing up) Done Malwarebytes search, Kaspersky search, even system restore.

In Firefox this is Ctrl+F5 to bypass the cache.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Where does google finance store "recent quotes"?

Google Finance on Safari has started showing me the same "recent quotes" no matter how many times I try to delete them. I've trashed the cache and everything in Library/Safari except Bookmarks, and all cookies with google in the name, with no effect. Does anyone know where this info is stored?
    TIA....Tom

Thanks, but, as I said, I've already trashed everything in that folder but the bookmarks.
Actually, I now think this is a google problem. I'm getting the same behavior on my iphone, which is not synched to the machine in question....Tom

  • Google finance widget

    hello
I have some big data that I would like to illustrate using a
flash movie. google finance do something similar here:
    http://finance.google.com/finance?q=GOOG
are there any tutorials about how to do this kind of thing?
have a movie that responds to the data as defined by the user and
    then re-draws the graphs?
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem. I think it might have started during the MobileMe migration.
There is a another discussion about this problem so there seems to be quite a few people affected.
Do we just have to wait? There seems no way to contact Apple directly about bugs.

    Hi,
About three days ago when you go to google finance and search and click on a stock the interactive chart is now no longer shown.
Did you thought about it that this could be on the other site and NOT you Mac connection.
Lately there are many problems with Google.
Did you try a other browser like Fire Fox or any other that you have to use?
Does your Safari surf the Internet without problems ... except the Google problem?
