Google fonts no longer display in FF 35

Hi all,
Earlier this week my fonts in Google Docs stopped displaying properly - sometimes I'll get the message to try reloading the page but it doesn't work. They show up in the Document as one uniform font (Arial?) instead of Limelight & Unlock to name a couple.
The fonts do show up in my Chrome Browser.
I've tried clearing the cache & re-updating FF, to no avail.
Is this a bug or is Firefox about to update again?
Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Fonts no longer display in iTunes

After updating iTunes, fonts no longer display in iTunes and a few other places. Fix ideas?

    Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
Start up in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Restart as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t start in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
If you still have problems, then from the Font Book menu bar, select
              File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.

  • Some Language fonts no longer display correctly

I have a few language fonts, specifically Russian and Church Slavonic, which I have been using for years without any problem. They still partially display correctly, but there are some characters which display a different character now. For instance, in the Church Slavonic font, there are many characters with diacritical markings, where those accents etc. are typed after the character and backed up over the character. They are not displaying correctly anymore. Plain Russian fonts as well have certain characters that aren't even recognized now. I am using PopChar Pro, and though they display correctly in its list, when I click on them, the wrong character is display in the text. Does this have something to do with Unicode? I use these fonts mostly in MS Word and Finale.
Thanks for any help on this topic.
    Sima

Yes, it is true that these fonts do not display
    correctly in Finale.
Last I checked Finale could not do Unicode, so it may be another problem. If it can do Unicode, you should be able to use Lucida Grande and the Russian keyboard layout. If not, you should be able to use a font with CY after the name with the Russian keyboard. You might want to ask in the Finale forums:
    http://forum.makemusic.com/
Is there any sort of application
that can fix old fonts to be Unicode compatible?
It would be very complex I think and require an expensive font editing program like FontLab.
On another note, are you aware of whether Unicode
includes Church Slavonic (I suppose it would be in
the same category as Old Slavonic)?
Yes, it does. Just look at the Cyrillic block in Character Palette. Or here:
    http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0400.pdf
However you won't find all glyph variations -- that will depend on the font. For an example of Slavonic Unicode you can see the last item on this page:

In previous versions of FireFox all the Greek fonts on a website I use quite often were always displayed. Now I see that there are no Greek font displayed - just gibberish. This problem also occurs in the Opera Browser. However, they display just fine in Google Chrome. FireFox is my default browser so I hope you can help solve this problem. Thank you.

  • Firefox doesn't display Romanian diacritics properly (Google Fonts)

    Hello,
I have a blog on Blogger, which is in Romanian. I am using Arimo (Google Font). I tested my blog on several popular browsers (Google Chrome, Opera, even Internet Explorer) to check if the diacritics are displayed properly. They work perfectly on all 3 browsers.
However, on Firefox, only two of them work Î & Â, while the other three (Ș, Ț, Ă) are replaced with another font. What could be the problem? I would love for all my visitors to see the same design, regardless of the browsers they use. Can you help? Thanks in advance.
Here's an image, to better understand my issue - http://i.imgur.com/257QyId.png

The link for my blog is http://ferdy.ro
@guigs2 - thank you filling a bug report.
    @cor-el,
As you can see, if you access my blog, it displayes the Arimo font, yet three Romanian diacritics (ș, ț, ă) are displayed with the Arial font. I used the sans-serif trick in my CSS code and it sort of fixes the problem, but not entirely.
Arimo has tons of diacritics (including Romanian diacritics) and special characters, yet this issue occurs only on Firefox and Yandex (tested today), however it is displayed properly in Chrome, Opera and even Internet Explorer.
The 'Allow pages to index...' setting is already enabled on my browser. Also, the Page Inspector generates a 'Not found' for me. This is weird, if it was because of the font, then it shouldn't work on all the browsers.
If there is nothing I can about it, then I'll switch to Arial entirely or keep it this way - it's very important for me to have the same design on all of the browsers.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.

  • Images no longer display properly in Firefox

I use ancestry.com where they have a lot of images of documents - not PDFs - and this morning they no longer display, but instead seem to show underlying html or other code. I noticed in the google home page, the icon for the google apps no longer appears - really odd things are happening. Most web sites are fine. Have screened three ways for malware, downloaded and installed latest Firefox browser - no change.
I have a screen image that shows the issue, but can't figure out how to post it here.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance

  • Fonts Do Not Display Correctly in Safari and Firefox

Certain fonts do not display smoothly in Safari and Firefox. They appear to have little pieces of the letters missing. I'm sure others have experienced this problem before but I could not find how to fix this. On the Apple Discussions the fonts look fine... on Google for example, they look messed up. I do not know specifically which font(s) are displayed weird but it happens frequently. This happens in Safari and Firefox on my MacPro and MacBookPro. Is there a setting to fix this?
    Thanks,

Hello Flash, welcome to Apple discussions; )
Look for Helvetica Fractions and Times Phonetic Fonts, if you have them,
they can be the usual suspects.
Check the Text encoding in both Safari & FF, under the "View" menu.
In System preferences-> Personal (top section) in Appearance tab->
on the last portion of the panel Font smoothing Style: set that to Automatic

  • Some fonts do not display or print

Some of my fonts (that were working fine) no longer display or print properly after upgrading to Mountain Lion (10.8.3). They worked fine in 10.6.8. Most of the ones that do this are TrueType fonts. I ran "validate font" and it showed no errors. Is there a way to fix this (other than buy all new fonts)?

Boot in safe mode. This will cause certain caches maintained by the system to be rebuilt.
Safe mode is much slower to boot than normal.
When the login screen appears, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and test. There's no need to log in while in safe mode.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. In that case, proceed as below.
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    sudo atsutil databases -remove
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    Reboot and test.
