Installed FF 16, 17, 18. Will not open in normal administrator login, nor with "Run as administrator" but will in W7 safe mode. Changed permissions (had to do it in W7 Safe Mode, normal login would not allow (logged in as an administrator) could not delete the Mozilla files in normal login. On rare occasions, with a new install, I could get it to open once, then not again. Searched the reg for any mention of Mozilla or FF and cleaned it. Tried FF safe mode, no luck. Checked permissions after taking ownership and propagating full ownership rights to all FF files, many reboots, no luck. Chrome, IE and SeaMonkey work fine. I have uninstalled FF, with the windows uninstaller, by manually cleaning the files and the registry of any mention of FF or Mozilla, and by running Revo uninstaller - always rebooting and checking to see if the files are indeed gone. (I have set windows file preferences to see all files, including system files.) I have run 4 AV/malware scanners and found nothing but a few tracking cookies. I download, from Mozilla.org, (http://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%2018.0.exe) a fresh copy of the Firefox Setup 18.0.exe each time and install when logged in as an administrator and choose "Run as Administrator". I get the same result each time I try to open Firefox. I make the following assumptions:
The system is not infected
I am doing clean installs
There is no existing trace of FF on the system
I get identical results on one other W7 64 bit Optiplex 990 system with an i7 processor and 16 GB or ram.
I CAN run in windows safe mode with networking.
I have no other software or hardware issues.

Go to the HP site and look for drivers for your scanner. It apparently needs an updated driver to work with Mavericks.

When I click on the Mozilla Firefox icon, I cannot get to my homepage so I can use the Internet.

When I go to Tools, Options, General, Homepage, there is nothing in the box for Homepage. So I clicked on default. Didn't work. Tried Msn.com, didn't work. There's a box that says Show Homepage also, but can't seem to make it all work. What should be in the box that's blank? How did it change on its own? HELP!

I have updated the squite.places file to prevent Firefox from hanging constantly. This seems to have worked but now I can't see the comments on news websites.

Over the last few days Mozilla Firefox has been hanging every few seconds. I updated the squite.places file as instructed which seems to have corrected the problem, however it has had a side effect. I can no longer see the comments on newspaper sites, e.g. The Times, the Independent both of which I believe use Disqus. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I want to uninstall Mozilla Firefox but I cannot find add-ons remove in control panel

After being infected with Virus, Mozilla started messing up.
So i decided to uninstall the program,but at my surprise i cannot find any add-ons Mozilla firefox in Control panel, so where do i go from here.
Can you tell me any ohter of uninstalling it without having to go to add-ons.

It contains instructions on how to manually remove Firefox if the uninstaller does not work.
Could the virus have infected your profile folder (location where Firefox stores bookmarks, passwords, cookies and other user data), if it has you may want to remove the profile folder as well, but will lose all of your user data.

MOzilla Firefox hangs with every command or website I visit

My firefox hangs up with every website i visit. It takes forever to load pages and stalls all the time. I have cleaned all cache and I have even uninstalled and installed the latest version. I cannot seem to get it to operate like it used to on my PC. I am runnning windows 7 and I double checked my machine for virus and malware.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.

When I open Mozilla Firefox, I open the page, the website doesnot load.

I have tried (in order) uninstalling and reinstalling Mozilla, downgrading to Mozilla 6, tried to confirm plug ins but the Mozilla website took forever to find my plugins. Hmm, usually if Firefox can't load a page it will show an error page. Is there a similar "silent fail" if you use a bookmark or use one of the search boxes?

After updating itunes to the latest version it will now not open. I have tried reinstalling the programme, rebooting and all other suggestions, to no avail. this not the first time I have had issues with itunes. Frankly I find it completely unacceptable .

This not the first time I have had frustrating problems with the Apple system. Perhaps someone could suggest a more reliable system to switch to. Someone with a better troubleshooting system.

Going all the way back to Firefox 3.0.5 is shear foolishness, it is 14 security versions behind the last 3.0.19 release. And that version is missing at least a dozen security updates that were applied to the 3.5 and 3.6 versions after support for 3.0.x ended.
If you are not happy with Firefox 4, you should have installed Firefox 3.6.17. That is very similar to the 3.0 and has all the security fixes that have been released since support for Firefox 3.0.x ended last year.

Firefox closes immediately after accessing numerous websites

When i attempt to access several websites, secure and unsecure, the browser either closes immediately or after several entries or pages. The 'we're embarrassed' appears but taking actions suggested does not solve the issue. I am able to access via IE. Virus and infection software reveals no problems. Have removed and re-installed Firefox to no avail.

Safe mode with networking works! but when i reboot normally, it goes back to closing quickly. What's the next step?

It locks up where I can do nothing except wait and wait for response. I get end program messages, it loads slow when initializing. I have run AVG, Windows Defender, defragged etc. I am not that computer savvy to figure this out. Need assistance from one of you experienced users out there. While I can access my email webpage after upgrading to Firefox 5 I cannot access my email inbox

We have no problem accessing other web pages such as google or ebay and it is strange that we can get onto our email site but just not get into our inbox for new emails. There are no details given about the inbox contents either - it says 'undefined new mails in your inbox.'
