Google Issues

I've been having problems with Google lately. When I attempt to search something, I get results that are different characters or symbols. The characters/symbols I've been getting when I search look like this: k+y=]].t`޸=y޻awt7>h%)+;.)v*qR\N<bD(- *Ťrݍn1(|;|Kxp~̷s?>y<_{ɿq]7~$'EnHu#P5,\jT u&eU4IܿgȆ"ooyēݢty^a3q[hRեݵ,4C(Xx<3AtezFIK4(Mǒ 3L,F[OzƭgzK.xg"@TO1\48d=S,Jgp,qrJg)'!,.8gFqc=^P8~2O!:)& $M%c? =9O@|Q~I%ER|
I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

  • ICal w/ Google Issue

    Hey everyone,
Ever since the roll out of iOS 5 we have been having a problem connecting to our Google calendars. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the new roll out but that is just a reference point to when the problem started occurring.
We currently have one central account for our company and then individual calendars for our employees. We are able to create the account within iCal, connect to the server, and then load and connect to all the delegates when first creating the account. Once all the calendars connect, and are synced, when we go and try to change an event or add a event we constantly get the message of "The calendar https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/...main.com/user/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct." I cant figure out why it will enable us to create the calendar and sync but as soon as an event it to be created or edited, we cannot connect to the server any more.
Also, everyone within the company is using an iPhone and have the same calendars being viewed and modified. I believe we are all using iOS 5.
This issue is making us lean towards hosting our own calendar on a Lion server.

Indeed. The strange thing is: Apple knows how to do it (else iOS Calender wouldn't work either). What is so hard for such a company to have iCal devs work with iOS Cal team and notify Google when it is fixed?
Or are the garages seperate (referring to start of tech companies )

  • Ongoing Google issues

I posted awhile back regarding this same problem.
I am unable to access Google on Safari. If I search using Dogpile, and it pulls up Google results, I am unable to navigate to these pages.
I had thought the problem was resolved, and posted that it was resolved because I tried to access it at my boyfriends house using his wireless connection and Google worked fine.
When I go back home and use my wireless connection (cable using a linksys wireless router) I can not access Google again.
I tried plugging the cable directly into my computer and disabled airport. I can access Google if I do this. Also (which I think is REALLY weird), if I leave the cable plugged in, and enable airport so that I am accessing the internet via airport (and I assume essentially am not using the plugged in cable for anything) Google works.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
I would rather not have to plug in the cable just to access Google, first cause it's a pain, second cause I am not always in my room near the cable when I am on my computer, and third cause I bought the router for a reason...and I would think that I should be able to use my wireless access for everything!
    Thanks!

    Hello Lexie,
I had thought the problem was resolved, and posted that it was resolved because I tried to access it at my boyfriends house using his wireless connection and Google worked fine.
Does he use another wireless router, airport extreme for example ?
It sounds to be an issue with your router.
I think you should check out theLinksys support Make sure you do not need an update or if you have a firewall on the router.

I presume you mean an Airport card, because you speak of using a Linksys
Router. The cable plugged in means you are use the ethernet, as I understand it, so it is not for nothing, I think that the cable is still what is working, by passing the card.
Yes I agree, you should be able to be wireless if that is your setup.
Good luck, let us know what you find.

  • Safari and google+ issues

I've recently discovered that when using Safari (most current version) that many of the icons which were once active in google+ are now inactive only when using safari. these icons work when using google chrome. Also, i've noticed that whenever I do an image search on the google search engine these images cannot be loaded to full size. The list of images will display but once I click on them they will not load up.
    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

  • Safari/Google issue

Hi, running a Macbook with 10.5.2 Safari will no longer resolve www.google.com. It will find it via an IP address, but not a web address. Firefox & Camino have no problems finding Google.
Any thoughts? No new router. ISP or anything. Just stopped working

Doh, my bad, I had my JavaScript unselected in the Safari preferences.
I'd turned it off while testing something else.
Yep, I'm seeing the same problem again now. At least we know a way to get around it for the time being
According to one of the other threads Google are aware of the problem and looking into it.

  • Safari 6 google issues

Having upgraded to Safari 6, Google knowledge graph content is no longer appearing. See following screen captures in Safari and Firefox
    Firefox

There are no virusses out there for macs so you don't have a virus. Could you take a screenshot and put it back in here? Have you tried resetting Safari? Does it happen in another user account?

  • I keep getting sent to weird web sites I have never asked for and dont recognize. Is this a Firefox issue or a Google issue or a gremlin issue? It has recently gotten much worse; sometimes I cant back out of it and have to restart everything.

This sometimes happens when I am on a web site of my choosing or on Google. I use Google as my search engine. It's really strange to ask to go to one page and end up on something from out of left field. Today, for the first time I had to close out of Firefox and start all over. Please feel free to email with questions; I'm not sure what else to tell you.

  • After updating IOS6, Maps got serious issue. It is not showing any destination or route. When we can have google map or a map where we can use as GPS???

    Hi,
I have updated IOS6 yesterday, It was amaizing but I have lost Maps. Earlier it was very easy to access on Maps as a GPS device. I was very much happy with iPhone 4S as it was working with Maps very fast and was able to provide me correct route but after this updates, I lost the maps and their stuff. I think you  really need to provide us new patch which make Maps in correct usable task.
We really need GPS device to find locations, earlier it was very good but not this updated map is seriously not good.
    Thank you

This is more of a Google issue. When they browse to Google's page that you link to, Google detects the mobile device and redirects to their "Mobile" version of their site. Their mobile version of their site doesn't have all the features of their full blown site.
This isn't about the iPhone but rather Google opting to detect a mobile device (not just an iPhone) and redirect to a different version of their site.
Contact Google and ask when they are going to add MyMaps support to their mobile device pages.

  • Why do google search results reset to match the search bar terms when i use the back button?

Since the update to FF 23, the list of Google search results clears and the on-page search box is reset to match the address bar search box when I hit the back button to re-view the results list after checking a result.
To see this issue for yourself, set your search provider to Google and make sure Instant is on. Type a search term into the search bar and press enter. A google page appears with your results list. Now, change your search terms or conduct a new search directly from the google page (without using the FF search bar). Click on the first result in the search list, then click the back button to return to the search results so you can check a differest result. As FF goes back to the google page, it will reset the on-page search box to match the FF search bar (although you were no longer on this search) and all search results will disappear, replaced by the message "Press enter to search". Pressing enter reconducts your old search, not the one you were on.
This is incredibly maddening since searching for something requires frequent use of the back button to check through the list of search results, and then frequently trying the search again with slightly different terms. Although it sounds like a Google issue, it did not occur on the old firefox and has me wanting to revert. I tried to revert to the old search function via the "keyword search" addon, but this did not fix my issue. Is there a way to force FF to go back to the actual google search page I was just on instead of conducting a new google search from the FF search box when I hit the back button?

In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.<br />
The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

  • Google calendar does not sync more than 6 months o...

I sync multiple google calendars.... this works very well.
I recently noticed that if I enter an appointment more than 6 months in the future on my phone, it disappears after it syncs with google.  It stays on the google calendar, but disappears from the phone.  I continue to run tests to find out if these appointments will eventually show up on the phone again as we get within 6 months of an event.
I have run many test entries and tried to reset phone/ delete and reactiveate google account..  This problem is not replicated on another lumia 521... so its not a google issue.  It seems to be Nokia's 925 issue.  I think this started to be a problem after the last OS update.
As of October 30, 2013,  I entered weekly test appointments.  They sync perfectly until the week of April 21, 2014.  I schedule many appointments more that 6 months out so this is a problem.
I'm curious if other's have this issue and are just not aware of it.
I have not seen this problem addressed.. I hope someone can help.  (Nokia 925)

We are having similar problems with my wife's recently acquired Lumia 520. We are also experiencing the one hour shift in appointments reported by others. This does not appear to be reliably resolved by the time zone settings suggested.

  • How do I get my Google back? You are blocking it.

After I enter my email address & enter my password, a message comes on the Firefox is blocking access. It flashes on & off so fast I can't give you the exact wording, but it says Firefox is blocking my access.
This started this week. If I have to, I will eliminate Firefox which I don't want to do. No one has the right to control who I use in addition to Firefox.
I upgraded to your latest Firefox & had to delete it as it isn't compatible with Google & am now back to 4.0.

It's possible that one of your settings or add-ons is interfering with how Google redirects or with scripts/ads. Can you try a couple of diagnostic tests?
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, try restarting Firefox in Firefox
[https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. You can do this from the Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.
If that resolves the Google issue, then you can try to sort out which add-on or setting is causing the problem.
Alternately, you can create a new (blank) Firefox profile, which is like a fresh install: [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
To move key settings like bookmarks from your misbehaved profile to the new profile, see: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
    Hope this helps.

  • Android calendar on shows a subset of what's on Google calendar

I have seen so many different posts regarding calendar problems that I'm sorry if this answer is already out there, but I can't find it by searching so I'm going to ask for myself:
I have a Google Calendar that works fine when I create/update entries from the web. I do not use Google Calendar Sync or any other SW to communicate with my Android phone (Droid 2) and I do not have/use Outlook.  My phone calendar is set up and it shows everything correctly for the current and past 6 weeks.  Updates made on either calendar (web and phone) appear on the other in less than a minute, so the basic Sync function seems to have the capability to make the correct updates.
I created my Internet Google Calendar around Sep 2010 (when I got this phone) and I created past events for record keeping purposes (I added details of a vacation in 2009, a business trip in Spring 2010, etc),  I also created several recurring events that extend for a year or more into the future (like music lessons and task deadlines).  All of these are clearly visible on my Google calendar when I access it from the web and when I access it on my phone via the Internet.
However, when I use the onboard calendar function it does not show any events older than 7 weeks except those that were created as recurring events.  It also show only 1 recurring event starting past this week--it loses recurring events that start in the past and extend past next week along with losing recurring events that start and stop completely in the future.
The net result of all of this is to render that onboard calendar function pretty useless--to get an accurate view on my calendar I have use a shortcut to access my Google Calendar through the Internet.  I am perplexed why there should be so many users with documented problems related to syncing their web Google Calendar with their phone calendars on a platform developed by Google. Similar calendar complaints seems to fill the Google forums from 2009 through today with not much in the way of solutions or work arounds offered. My old Palm Tungsten PDA may not be able to sync wirelessly, but when it did sync it had all my events,
Can anyone think of anything I could be doing wrong that causes these problems?  Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome these problems?
(I've already spoken with Verizon and Motorola support:  1) I already tried completely deleting all calendar data from my phone and reacquiring via a new setup; 2) I've reset my phone to factory setting and reloading everything; 3) I had them send me a replacement phone in case it was a programming error on my phone but the replacement acted exactly the same way.)

I have been researching this problem since it first surfaced with the 2.2 Froyo updated on the Droid X for me.   It is unbelievably frustrating.  I basically run my life with my calendar, and also use it as a journal to document what I do.   There are two fundamental problems:
    1 - the sync only will bring in appointments to about five or six weeks prior to the current date, not any in the further past;
2 - the sync hangs up and fails to complete the synchronization.
I have read hundreds of posts related to these issues on this Verizon forum, and also on Droid Forums.   Scores of customers seem to experience these issues.
When I first got the Droid X, I noted the failure to sync past appointments, and finally after many hours on the phone with Verizon support and reading many posts, I learned the trick of manually setting the phone date to some time in the past, since it will sync future events to the gmail calendar.  That had issues as well, as it used to only sync 1 year into the future, so I had to keep resetting the phone date to past dates one year at a time to rebuild my calendar from 2005.  This no longer works because of problem #2 - synchronize stops and fails.   Verizon phone support admitted that they have had complaints about this problem as well.
I have checked all Accounts settings, auto sync, power widget (trick from the developers forum), factory reset and rebuild of environment, removal of possibly interfering market applications such as task killers and virus protectors, system recovery utility->clear cache partition, etc.   I have tried everything that I have found a suggestion for or thought might solve the issue, all to no avail.
At one point I thought it was a Google issue, but when I setup a new Macintosh computer, iCal synchronized every single appointment and event back 7 years and forward from the current date flawlessly to my Google gmail calendar.   The synch on the Droid X will run for perhaps 10 seconds and then the little icon with the arrows stops spinning and it just hangs there, having brought in only 15% or so of my thousands of appointments from my Google gmail calendar.
Maybe it is a size problem, since I have so many appointments.  Or maybe not.  No one seems to know.  No response from Google support.   I have posted extensively about this issue on Droid Forums (username Tedmeister there) if anyone is interested in looking at those posts (and the many folks experiencing similar issues).   Verizon support is clueless, and only suggests another factory reset "try and see if it works".  Sigh.
The problem has gotten MUCH worse since the 2.3 Gingerbread update, as well as some additional handset problems being introduced by that update.  Some of these Verizon has also admitted knowing about, and just say 'Google is working on the fix'.
I am pretty much at the end of the rope on the calendar sync issue.   The only thing I have not yet tried is to hurl the Droid X through the window and go buy an iPhone  :-)
So anyone out there who has looked into this deeply, or has any inside information about the causes and/or solution, I'd love to hear form you.

  • Auto complete in subject line of email in google no longer works. Gmail used to work with autocomplete subject line and no longer responds.

Somewhere in the updates of Google and Firefox the subject matter history does not remember the common subjects that I use everyday. The auto feature saved me typing the subject line every time I send repetitive messages and mail to different groups. No forums online seem to have an answer but many have the problem. I don't know if it is a Google issue or a browser issue.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
    * [[Form autocomplete entries are not saved]]
    * [[Form autocomplete]]
Check and tell if its working.

  • Using Google news as a home page, cannot stay logged in to Google. FF22.0 &Google

I am using FF 22.0 and Google News as a home page. Every time access my home page, I have to re-login to Google News in order to retain my settings. Is this a FF issue or a Google issue. This also means that i cannot remain logged in to Goog news after visiting another website and returning to my home page. This USEDto work with prior versions of FF, but not 22. Not a big deal, but really annoying.
    Any assistance is appreciated

  • Google Mobile App broken

Since 5/2/11, the Google Moble app returns results in which the page links are not active, i.e. they will not open.  Normally they either open from with the Google Mobile app, or open within the s60 browser (shown as "Web" in the applications folder).  This is clearly an external problem at Google, since nothing has changed on our phones (to our knowkedge, anyway).  How can we contact Google?
    Solved!

Try posting your issue on the google mobile forum:

With this being a google issue there's nothing we can do to help you here. If you have an old discontinued model, like the N79, your best option is to use an alternative method to search such as opera mobile/mini.
