Google links to Ad Sites and unrequested audio plays in background

1) When I click on links from Google searches it redirects to Ad websites...
2) When I have Internet windows open suddenly audio (that sounds like it is coming from other unopened websites) will start playing.

If it's an ad site on Google, it would probably be blocked the "Adblock Plus" with the right subscription filters, or a filter you make.

That will probably stop your problem there are other things you can try:
"Stop Autoplay" extension (I have it disabled, think it would not show the first frame)
 media.autoplay.enabled   user set   boolean   False (have that, shows up in about:config but not in about:support)

Could firefox developers use some other company besides google to block attack sites and web forgeries. Google are leaving zombie cookies.

Google is using the the "Block reported attack sites" and "Block reported web forgeries" to leave a zombie cookie. This setting is under Menu/Preferences/Security. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destructing-cookies/reviews/676076/
Could the developers please use some other service besides google to perform this function? I want to block these issues but I don't trust google. What has google done for firefox anyway?

If you discover anyone else offering reputation data that Mozilla could use, I'm sure someone would look into it. But I think Microsoft and the security companies might not be inclined to offer theirs for free...

Using Google Analytics with Muse site and /blog

Hi there,
I have a simple website that I have put together using Muse: movingpictureTV.com
For the site I have added analytics code to pick up figures etc.
The sites Wordpress blog is found at movingpictureTV.com/blog
Does this mean I need separate tracking code to pick up data for the blog or will the code used on the main site URL pick up the blog traffic too?

Hi Mark,
Usually, when google spiders visit your site, it index all the hard coded links on the home page. However, you can add analytics code to every page. It will expedite the indexing of the pages.

When I select a link on a site and this opens a new instance of Firefox, the link page is blank; but OK when the link is displayed in a new tab on same instance of Firefox.

This happens on many sites eg just went to Virgin Media

and tried to click on one of the 3 More Info boxes (Just Broadband, Broadband and Phone,... etc). Each time I click the More Info box, a new instance of Firefox is opened with a blank page showing and 'Untitled' in the tab heading.
Is there a setting somewhere where I can stop these links opening a new instance - or at least display the information if they do?

* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

How to create a plugin to open a pop up on right click (using context menu) of any link on any site and display the link url in the pop up

We are developing a Plugin with the specific purpose to display the URL to which any link redirect to on any website.
This URL should appear in the pop up when the user right clicks and selects the "show URL" option in the context menu.
Can some one please help us either to find such plugin (except firebug) or guide us how to develop such a plugin.

I think I downloaded a fake Firefox update from supportfirefox.perl.sh - ever since I have had I/E popups and now audio playing with no programs running. What do I do?

Firefox 11. Although the same problem happened in earlier versions.

On the PCH slot machine site, Firefox continues to play the background audio from one game to the next until all the audio is playing at the same time.

Firefox isn't crashing and there aren't any error messages. V19 just installed today. It was doing this in v18 as well.

This may be a problem with the plugin-container process.

Suddenly, the security warnings have changed. The look, the option to temporarily allow data from a site, and videos are playing automatically. Is there a way to restore default settings? Did the most recent update jusdt change how these items work?

Is there a way to reset items so they appear as they did last week?

Hello @1willow,
Based on this post and your other post I suspect you need to backup and recover your computer back to factory. To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.

Links between some pages and pdf's not working: muse

I have two sites with the same muse business catalyst name for preview. How do I create different names? Is it necessary to preview site?
I am have a lot of pages that no longer link on both sites and I cannot get pdf's to link. Please help?

Hi Erin
I believe you have published same Muse file with 2 sites on Business Catalyst , you can update the same sites with the modifications you made in Muse.
In publish window , click on options and select the same site from drop down , publish the site and old pages will be replaced with new content that you have added in Muse.

Never had an issue now i do, can go to a webpage but click a link within that website and it will not open
