Google mail off line

I have 4 Google and 3 SBC accounts in apple mail.
All of a sudden Google accounts are going off line- the triangle appears.
I try going back on line - no response.
When I quite mail and then reboot the Gmail mail has loaded, but still off line.
I also lost all the email from one Gmail account.
Any one having this problem also.

Gmail is a web mail service, it can't be accessed when you're not on the internet or the "web".

  • Mail off line

I have an intel based mac and have OSX 10.5.6.
For some reason all my mail has gone off line
I have a laptop and that is working OK
    Any ideas please

I am going to assume you still have a connection to the internet when this occurs...
Try using the built in Mail Connection Doctor - with Mail open go to window>connection doctor and it should give you some details as to why it cannot connect.

  • Problem: Autorestart OSX, reset Mail and sent mail 'off line'

Yesterday evening when closing MacBook, it restarted OSX by itself.
At starting up Mail this morning it asked to use the new settings or to go back to previous settings. Unfortunately we chose the new settings...
Today we find that Mail has deleted the gmail account, added subfolders for the Inbox (.Mac account als a subfolder) and Sent box has been 'erased' completely. We 'lost' over 2000 messages sent.
Using mailsearch I can find the sent messages. They actually appear to be in the sent box as selecting them turns out to select the sent box. So the messages are still there. But not visible in the Sent box.
Selecting the messages from yesterday will not give the messages. In stead a messages appears:
something like "Message has not been downloaded from server. You need to set the account to 'On line' to be able to download."
I added the gmail account, no show
    Changed status, no show
    Removed .Mac account, no show
    Removed com.apple.mail.plist, restarted, no show
    Downloading new mail works properly.
What I don't understand is that sent messages are visible as titles, but content is 'on server'. Since when does the content of a sent message in Mail moves to a server?
Is there a solution to this problem?
As I have convinced my girlfriend to switch from Windows to Mac and this problem concerns mail from my girlfriend I would be really pleased to hear from you.
    Kind regards

    OK, figured it out.
Before doing anything else... (like removing account, or shuffling messagefiles and the like) you might want to try this..
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303803
This article describes how to reindex Mail by removing Envelopindex file from your home/library/mail/ folder.
    It worked great for me.
Eventhough gmail is pop account, removing indexfile "Envelopeindex" (moved to desktop) was good enough. A dialoguebox will tell you that new Tiger functions need this reindexing.
I hope this works for you as well.

  • Outgoing mail off-line

My mail has been working perfectly until this morning when my email would not send and I kept getting a message requesting my password.
This message kept reappearing. My mail sat in outbox and would not send. On checking mail preferences I noticed it was set to offline, and would not re-set.
I had to access gmail directly, and it functioned perfectly - this is clearly a Mavericks issue. Irritatingly I had to copy and paste each email from the Mac outbox into a new mail for my gmail account. This is a real time waster.
Has anyone got a solution? I am sure it must be something simple. I see a number of people had the dame issue several months ago, but no resolution recorded.

  • TS3276 Safari mail off-line and can't send mail?

I'm using Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on my MacBook Pro.  While incoming Safari Mail seems to be working fine, more often than not, I can't send mail.  On further investigation with Connection Doctor, I can connect to the Internet, but my SMTP outgoing pop A/C is offline, and I cannot send mail. Is there a solution to going online to correct this problem?  Many thanks.

Do you really mean Safari - the web browser?  If so, you should contact your mail service for support. If you mean Mail - the program, (the little postage stamp icon in the Dock), have a look here:

  • I seem to have multiple problems related or unrelated.  I cannot use Apple Mail for blueyonder and mostly for gmail as both show that the server is off line.  My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with pop up windows on nearly every command

Firstly I am unable to use Apple mail except for hotmail, for blueyonder, gmail or Sky as the server shows as (off line) and I have no idea how to get them on line even though I tell them to go there.
My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with advertising windows virtually on ever command I make, one seems to be impossible to unsubscribe from.
When I am in an email with a web link the web link doesn't work and I get a window saying that I must have a pop up blocker, but if I switch it off it is no different, what does work is switching the "enable Java script off", then when I get to the web site I can't use it until I switch the java script back on.
I can't do a screen shot either full or partial, when I try it changes the web site that is on screen to another.
So what have I done that might have caused problems, downloading Yosemite seemed to be the start of the problems.  Since then I have started to install Mackeeper, after checking with a family members who should know, that MacPaw is safe.  I decided that I didn't want to pay the subscription, so went through the uninstall instructions but it comes up as a pop up with considerable regularity.
My stress levels have gone through the roof with pop ups happening so regularly and not being able to use Apple mail.o can anyone help please?

  • Mail in 10.7.5 suddenly off line on all my devices....HELP

    iMac (24-inch Early 2008) running OS 10.7.5
MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010) running OS 10.7.5
iPad 2 (wifi) running iOS 6.1.3
iPad 4 (wifi) running iOS 6.1.3
Here's the problem. I have internet connection. But suddenly today all my devices are off line in Mail.
Have re-set my dsl modem multiple times.
Ran Connection Doctor and got red lights on all 4 of my mail accounts (iCloud, 2x verizon addresses, and a work email address)
Checked all the settings and as far as I can figure, the are what I have been using.
EXCEPT......when I open the EDIT OUTGOING SERVER area of the Mail preferenced for my iCloud account, it choses my work account server. I re-set and save it. But it's right back to the wrong server when I go back to check. WHAT"S UP with that??????
Anybody have any insights into this problem?
Yes, I can get my email on the individual websites, but that means signing on and off of 4 websites every 15 minutes or so. Not gonna work.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Signed,

    Hello Snappi,
Thank you for all the information you provided about what is going on with Mail on all your Apple Devices.  I found an article with steps that I think might help.
I recommend reviewing the article, but I found some steps that sound like they apply specifically to what you are experiencing in the section titled "Mail Connection Doctor shows one or more red dots in the account Status column>Click here if your Incoming and Outgoing email account settings are correct, but the issue persists>Click here if a 'Could not connect to this (server type) server…' message appears":
Click here if a "Could not connect to this (server type) server…" message appears
    Check for third-party firewall software
Third-party firewall software, such as Little Snitch or Symantec Norton Personal Firewall, could be blocking the necessary ports. If such software is installed, make sure the firewall is not blocking these ports:
ports 25, 465, and 587 (for sending email via SMTP)
ports 143 and 993 (if you use IMAP email)
ports 110 and 995 (if you use POP email)
If you're not sure how to enable the correct ports, try disabling the third-party firewall completely, then test for the Mail issue. Note: The Mac OS X v10.6 firewall does not interfere with ports needed to send email.
Check for Internet Service Provider port blockingYour Internet Service Provider may be blocking the SMTP ports needed to send email. You can use Apple's MobileMe service to find out if your Internet Service Provider is blocking the sending email protocol SMTP:
Open Network Utility in the Utilities folder—in Finder, choose Go > Utilities (or press Shift-Command-U).
    Click the "Port Scan" tab.
Enter "smtp.me.com" in the "Enter an Internet or IP address to scan for open ports" field.
Enable "Only test ports between _ and _", and enter 25 for both port fields.
    Click "Scan" to test.
If you do not see "Open TCP Port: 25 smtp", contact your Internet Service Provider or visit their support website for further assistance. If you do see "Open TCP Port: 25 smtp", your Internet Service Provider is not blocking the SMTP ports needed to send email. Go to the "'Trying to log in to this (email server provider name) account failed…' message or any other error message appears" section below if the email issue persists.

  • Mail 7.3 Accounts Off-line

A domain name recently expired and was renewed after three days. Two Mail accounts related to that server stopped working in Mail, which shows the dreaded 'account off-line' message.
Both incoming and outgoing mail servers are described as not working.
I have manually re-set in-coming and out-going ports and passwords, to no avail. I have taken all accounts off-line, waited a few minutes, then set them all to on-line. I have quit and re-started Mail.
I can access these accounts using web mail from a browser. I have contacted the administrators of the commercial web host and they say these mail accounts are working normally.
Apple Mail seems to be the culprit.
I can delete the accounts and re-make them, but there is a Lot of e-mail in the problematic accounts that would be lost.
    Suggestions?

All right: if Mail tells you:
The server returned the error: The server “mail.domainname.com” refused to allow a connection on port 110.
you can verify the truth or otherwise of this statement by opening a command Shell and typing:
    telnet domainname.com 110
If the server is responding to connection requests on port 110 you will see something like this in the Shell:
    Connected to server.ISPdomainname.com.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    +OK <[email protected]>
This message confirms that port 110 is working. Unfortunately, it also confirms that Apple Mail is not telling the truth.
My ISP's server is allowing me to connect with it on port 110. Mail is not working, nor is it telling me the truth.

    Hi,
When you have the browser open (Internet Explorer) then press the Alt key on the keyboard. It should show you the file options at the top..Then uncheck work offline and check..
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • TS3276 All accounts keep going off line, quitting Mail fixes the issue

All accounts keep going off line, quitting Mail fixes the issue.
I have 3 Gmail, 1 hotmail and a yahoo. Al go off line with a little alert symbol next to them.
If I select take all accounts on line nothing happens.
    Email delivery stops.
To fix this, I quit Mail and re launch it. That fixes it.
    It's realy annoying.
    Any ideas?

I have the same problem - it started when I upgraded to OS X 10.8
I thought subsequent releases may help, but I'm now on 10.8.2 and no joy.

  • TS3276 My 3 mail accounts are all off-line. How do I get them on-line?

My 3 email accounts are off-line.  How do I get them on-line?

If you go to Mail>Mailboxes Menu - is Take All Accounts Online and option? Does it re-connect them.
Are the Mailboxes with different providers? If they're all the same provider perhaps there are problems at their end, rather than yours.
I assume your internet connection isn't playing up.
