Google map not loading in Safari

My embedded google map will not load in Safari. Will load in all other browsers just not Safari.

Google maps use embedded HTML from Google to render content served by Google.
If some of your users can't see the google map, it could be a problem connecting to the google maps site, or a browser setting that prevents google maps from displaying.
Google has some troubleshooting tips on their site:

  • Google maps not loading in safari to GWizz app

When using google maps in either Safari or the GWizz app it either doesn't load at all or it loads to my current location then refuses to search for either another location or a route, it just stays put. I have a full wifi signal & all other web pages are loading as normal. I am using a brand new (2weeks old) wifi/3G new iPad (& regretting updating to iOS 6!!). Is anybody else experiencing the same problem? Has Apple sabotaged google maps?!!!

I would think Apple would make their Map App as a plugin to Safari. Gives them more coverage to update their data set. Any idea if this is in the works?

  • Google Maps not loading on my iMac

I can't get Google Maps to load on my iMac. Whenever I go to a web page that uses Google maps (i.e. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/29817682), the outline of the map loads and the scale, route etc. but the actual background map or satellite image doesn't load, it just sites there with a grey background and the status shows 'connecting to mt1.google.com'
The number on the 'mt1.google.com' may be different as sometimes it is mt0.google.com, but it would seems as though my iMac can't connect to the Google servers.
This happens in both Safari and Firefox and also any third party apps that use Google Maps.
I thought it must have been an issue with my ISP or router, but I have a couple of PC's that connect to the internet through the same router on the same internet connection. These can all connect to Google Maps OK so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the ISP or the router, it is just my iMac that has this problem.
Any ideas how to fix it? It does very occasionally manage to download the maps after about 10 minutes of trying but more often than not it doesn't.
    Thanks,
    Alan.

Thanks William... That has certainly helped with diagnosis. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to adjust any of those settings within my belkin router.
Switching the firewall off in the router does allows Google Maps (and Google images that I was also having issues with) to load in both browsers and other applications. I'm a little reluctant to do this however as it doesn't really seem like a sensible 'fix'?
    Alan.

  • Google Homepage not loading in Safari, other browsers

I live in the Peoria, IL area and use Comcast cable internet service. I use the following: intel iMac 10.5.7, Safari 4.0.2, and Firefox 3, Cisco Linksys wireless router. Yesterday, Google homepage stopped loading on my iMac....nothing. I tried, with negative results, loading Google on Safari, Firefox, and Opera (the latter was downloaded to test my problem). I also have an iPhone and use it on the network...google works fine on the phone.
When I directly hardwire the iMac to the router, which is (obviously) wired to the modem, google loads fast a furiously. Unplug it and go back to the wireless connection...google will not load. Other webpages load fine wirelessly. I should mention, Yahoo will load but searching yields no results (it will show a continuous loading bar). This does not seem to be a modem or router problem. I had a weak wireless signal from my neighbor and was able to load a few sites except Google.
Lycos search engine works (almost forgot that search engine existed). Haven't tried Bing (Bing is gay). This is a very annoying problem. Google is my search engine of choice...use it for almost everything. Man, any help would be appreciated. I've worked almost all day (vacation day) on this problem.

I just realized this post was placed in the Safari Windows section. My bad. Anyway, my problem apparently fixed itself. I normally leave my computer on throughout the day and night. Last night, I turned the CPU off before night night time. When I awoke this morning, I was greeted by an iMac that was functioning normally. Google search engine works. Not sure what happened, but my problem seems to be fixed (for now at least).

  • Afeter install ffx 4, google maps not loading: If start ffx.exe -profile , says 'missing or invalid profile '

    I installed 3.x.16 and then installed 4.0 .
Now my google maps is not working. Main map page doesn't load.
One suggestion was to start-run firefox.exe -profile .
First time I did this a message came back: 'missing or invalid profile' .
Second time no message about profile, but the google map failure persists (main map page faisl to load).
    Can you help?
    Thanks!

I Did a Reset All, Before I Got Your Post, as I Was Worried that Waiting Past the Scheduled BackUp Profile Time, Might Mess Up the BackUp Like Using BackupBuddyVFS on PalmOS.
If You Could Clarify If There is a time Limit the Profile Needs to Be Restored By.
Thank You For Letting Me Know Which Reset To Use, In Future, if I have Difficulties.
All My Applications, Except One (Expess News, I think, as I accidentaly cancelled before it got to a setting window, and know says updating, or a circle turning (I Think).
Before Reset, I Copied Photos, etc, to Laptop, After the Reset, I avoided messing about, but connected WIFI.
At This Moment, I Have Hotsynched WIFI With Palm Desktop 6.2 Access, Contacts to Contacts, and Memos and Tasks to Echo Memos and Echo Tasks, Successfully, And I Am Currently Hotsynching nearly 8500 Appointments with Notes over a Ten Year Period, Which appears to be working and am around three quarters of the way through, and has taken a number of hours, maybe 4-6 but still a quarter left of the appointments. I Am Happy, though, because this time, Echo Appointments did not stop working after 2 or 3 k, as likely works better due to cleaned up Pre, or Improvements that were promised by Chapura for the error.
Thanks Again, and All the Best....

  • Disabling hardware acceleration resolved issue with Google Maps not loading in Firefox 19

For the last few days noticed that I could no longer use Googlemaps in Firefox 19. The page would completely load then if I typed a single character into the search box for google maps it would bring up the "Still loading" text and do nothing.
Followed a couple links on the Mozilla support page and started Firefox in safemode. Maps was speedy and worked fine in safemode. I started again without safemode and tried the simplest step to see if it would resolve the issue and disabled hardware acceleration. All of a sudden maps worked again. The strange part is when I re-enabled hardware acceleration maps continued to work (go figure, makes no sense to me).
Just wanted to post my experience for others who may be having a similar problem.
    System is Windows XP 32bit
    Cheers.

Thanks for posting your solution. For other users who may find this thread and need more information, see:

  • Find my iPhone Maps not loading in Safari on Mac

I have a very strange thing happening where when I use "Find my iPhone" in Safari on my Mac the maps don't load. I just get a blue layer load with the location dot showing. The maps load with no problem in Chrome and Firefox. I don't know why they aren't loading in Safari.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

  • Google maps not working in Safari

Grey space instead of map - Google MAps works fine on Firefox so what is it in safari that is causing the problem.

    Hello:
FWIW, Google maps work just fine here (using Safari - everything up to date).
I would try a couple of troubleshooting steps...
    1.  Clear the safari cache
    2.  Trash the preference file (com.apple.safai.plist) and restart.

  • TS3230 Why aren't Google and Yahoo loading in Safari with Maverics?  After several failed attempts, a "wireless diagnostics" zipped folder appeared on my desktop.  I'm using a macbook pro with OSX 10.9.2

I updated to Maverics and now yahoo and google do not load in Safari - i get a "connot connect to server" warning.  other websites load just fine.
Also, after several attempts to access the aforementioned sites, a zipped file/folder appeared on my desktop titled "WirelessDiagnostics"
What in the world is going on here?  I attached a screenshot of the zip file.

Double-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    www.google.com
    Launch the Network Utility application.
    Step 1
Select the Lookup tab and paste into the address field (command-V). Press return. Post the output that appears below – the text, please, not a screenshot.
    Step 2
Select the Ping tab and do the same. Please enter the same input as you did in Step 1. Don't use the output of Step 1 as input to Step 2.
    Important Note
Some web browsers and mail clients will automatically convert a domain name such as "www.example.com" to a clickable URL, such as http://www.example.com. That will interfere with the test. If necessary, edit the input in the Network Utility window to remove any added characters.

  • Maps.google will not load in FireFox v3.6.6 in OS Windows Vista

maps.google does not load when a search for an address is input in the search bar. The initial page loads but there is no zoom in or out. There is no 'Get Directions'. None of these links work.
== URL of affected sites ==

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Google will not load on my new MacbookPro but why?

I'm going to make this as clear as possible, but may miss something so bear with me.
I've owned an iPad and iPhone for a while but just yesterday purchased my first MacBook Pro which is the first apple computer I've owned. I'm still learning my way through the menus since I've been a PC user its a little different but rocket science. I'm relatively smart about these kinds of things, but when offering up suggestions it would help to tell me how to get to certain menu options as I'm still finding my way around.
    THE ISSUE:
When I use Safari, I can visit whatever website I want but for some reason google won't load. Safari comes with the search bar at the top of the browser for easy searching, which brings up common suggestions (I thought came from google) and if I click one, it doesn't load the results. Furthermore I cannot get www.google.com or any variation of that link including 8.8.8.8 to load the google webpage. It just WONT LOAD. Every other site I've tried to visit, however, loads quickly and without any problem.
I've never had any sort of problem with google on any other computer, ipad or iphone in my home and my network is set up to allow it. The only related pages I've found on the internet suggest people are using PeerGuardian or some software I have not had the time to install as I just got the computer, theres' nothing on it that didn't come on it shy of a few photos.
After tinkering with the ping menu,  I came to realize this problem is intermittent. I first got 'domain cannot be verified' as a result, then later it pings google, and i can visit the site, but only for a few seconds before it goes out again. Usually google works only long enough to see results but upon clicking any of them it stops working again and wont load.
Before I could finish this google started working properly, and now discissions.apple.com won't load any threads at all, where it used to load them all just fine. I'm writing this from my PC because the oh so awesome macbook pro is moody about what sites it wants to load and when it wants to load them.
This is so random I don't even know how to begin trouble shooting this without assuming its my network, but my network is totally fine its never had a problem before and ive been on it with multiple machines for years.

    I don't think it's your network ...
    Try this...
From the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If it was a cookies issue, that may help.
And in case you aren't aware, when you have trouble with sites loading, trying emptying the Safari cache.
Back to the menu bar, click Safari > Empty Cache
Or Command + Option + E on your keyboard.
As for Peer Guardian. Best to avoid third party firewall blockers.
Your Firewall settings are located in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Very important to keep your system software up to date. Back to System Preferences > Software Update > Scheduled Check
Select:  Check for updates.  Best to select Daily from the pop up menu. Then select:  Download updates automatically.
You'll see a dialog box on the Desktop when there are updates available to be installed.

  • Flash Player Mac 10,3,181,26 not loading in Safari 5.0.5 64-bit mode, any fix?

As the title says, the Flash Player 10,3,181,26 is not not loading in Safari 5.0.5 64-bit mode, I found out after wasting 2 hours installing/uninstalling the plugin and trying anything from repairing disk permissions to installing a fresh Safari app, then it hit me... switch Safari to 32-bit mode and bang!, Flash Player worked just fine.
Even as a long time Flash developer, I refuse to stay in 32-bit mode just to be able to see my work in Safari so please Adobe guys, find a fix for this.

Hi, You are probably aware of the Square version which is 64bit support. Haven't heard when it may be ready for a shipped version. But it's being worked on. Since you are a Developer, I thought maybe you'd be working on it too.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/square/
My system is not a 64bit, but I can see where one would forget which browser they were using. Something like having more than one computer and forgetting which one has certain info:-)
    Thanks,

  • IWeb Masked images not loading in Safari

When I apply a mask to images in iWeb they will not load properly in Safari. They load fine in FireFox. When the mask is removed the images will load in Safari, re-apply the mask and no go.
Have done the usual reset safari, etc.
    Any suggestions?

Well, I narrowed it down a bit more. Its not the mask thats causing the issue, its the mirror or drop shaddow. With those two affects applied the pictures will not load in Safari. Remove them, and they load fine.
Would love a fix for this, as those affects really dress things up, but its not a deal breaker.
Thanks to those that offered suggestions.
