I made a test, all is correct when the contact is above the map...
but i want this map across the page...
maybe there is something wrong in the html code fo the map

I hate Apple maps, will Marvericks give me option to sync contacts with google maps?

Will Mavericks let me sync contacts with google maps or require sync to Apple Maps as does i0s7. I hate Apple maps.

I have exactly the same issue. I updraged my iphone4 to iOS 5.0.1 and iTunes to version 10.5.2.11. I'm also running Windows7, but 32bit.
And I can also confirm this used to work both ways.
Good thing is that the iTunes backup and restore kept the new iPhone contacts on my device during the upgrade. But they are still not syncing to google.
So the bad news is that its broken and has been for some time now.

I am in the process of adding thousands of customers into my stock contacts app. Sometimes I want to drop a pin in an exact location on the property. I drop it, assign it to the contact, leave the app, and then come back into the contacts app and click on the address. It then takes me into google maps where I constantly discover that the pin has moved. It often moves off the property of the addresss or building I dropped a pin on. I am trying to solve this. I want that pin to stay in the exact location that I dropped it. Can somebody please help?

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch.

Do you have a WiFi only iPad?
If yes, go to another site, like say a Starbucks, connect to their internet and click on the arrow to show your location. If it is correct then your router is reporting incorrect information. Wait and the database will eventually be updated.

1.3.5 update - lookup map from Contacts doesn't work for Sprint Nav or Google maps

Is anyone able to tap on a contact's address in order to launch Sprint Navigation? Or even Google Maps? In my case, Google maps alway navigates to *my* address, not the contact's address I tapped on.
Worse, my Pre hangs on the Sprint Nav splash screen when choosing that option -- similar to what others are noticing. I copied this from another forum, as it describes my problem as well:
I updated Default Applications to launch Sprint Navigation for addresses. It certainly launches from an open Contact, but locks up on the splash screen. It never displays a map (nor anything else), and the menu doesn't function. Completely unresponsive. If I launch the app stand-alone, it works fine, so Sprint Navigation doesn't seem to be broken. It just doesn't work launching from a contact address.
I've switched the default app back and forth between Google Maps and Sprint Navigation, and did a couple restarts to no avail.

Thanks for the feedback and link to confirm this issue. I confirmed what the other fellow wrote on that thread:
if you already have Sprint Nav open, then click the address is goes fine.
I also "fixed" the issue in which Google maps loaded but always went to *my* location. I fixed this by exorcising the unofficial Google Latitude version of Maps from my Pre.I picked up this version by following a hyperlink to the beta Latitude a number of days ago, and ever since it had replaced the regular G Maps. I was able to clear Latitude off my device by pointing the browser to maps.google.com to reload the original flavor.After that, I am able to properly launch G Maps from a contact's address field. Whew!

RFE: Google Maps Save To Contacts button

If I'm using Google Maps to look up a place I plan to frequent, I'd like to be able to save it to my contacts so that I can look it up more quickly in the future. The Google Maps application on my old trusty Treo 680 had this.
The WHERE application downloadable from the App catalog *does* have this (via the Yelp or YP.COM items in its menu), but I'd rather use a no-nonsense Google Maps type application.
I will probably be posting quite a few RFEs, by the way, based on things I loved about my old Treo.

Google Maps - Viewing Addresses from Contacts

Hi,
Google Maps works fine when just scrolling around and looking at places, however when trying to search for an address or an address that is linked to your contacts the iphone doesn't seem to be able to find it.
is there a format to put your addresses in so that it will work as i simply can't do it.
I use outlook on my pc to enter addresses and there appear fine on the iphone contacts.

I think this is good advice, because what you might be experiencing is a bug in the UK Google Maps on the iPhone. It seems that if Country has not been specified in your address book then Google Maps assumes the country to be United States and adds it to the search line after the UK postcode. I went through my address book and added UK all my entries that it was missing from and it seems now that Google Maps on a UK spec iPhone does seem to work much better ( routes to/from were particularly problematic before)

In the last keynote (and in the mobile me video) we can see an email with a link to a restaurant via google map.
How do the sedn such email with the iphone (or with a computer) ?? Coudnt find how they did that..

Using Google Maps Street View on My MacBook Pro

Recently, I have been getting "Plug-In Missing" in the place of a video in a blog post. Also, when I try to use Street View in Google Maps I get a box that tells me I need to install Adobe Flash Player 10 or later to be able to use Street View. Should I try to download and install Adobe Flash Player? What could I use to be able to use Google Maps Street View and/or to play videos?

I found my reply elsewhere - you have to uncheck "contacts" and then recheck it. Kinda idiotic, but there you have it!

Where does the problem lie? Also can anyone tell me the hierarchy of use between the Apple Maps, SIRI, and Google maps when the app is on the phone? How do you choose one over the other as the default map usage? Or better still how do you suppress SIRI from using the Apple maps app when requesting a "go to"?
I have placed an address location into the CONTACTS list and when I ask SIRI to "take me there" it found a TOTALLY different location in the metro area with the same street name. I have included the address, the quadrant, (NE) and the ZIP code into the CONTACTS list. As it turns out, no amount of canceling the trip or relocating the address in the CONTACTS list line would prevent SIRI from taking me to this bogus location. FINALLY I typed in Northeast for NE in the CONTACTS list (NE being the accepted method of defining the USPS location quadrant) , canceled the current map route and it finally found the correct address. This problem would normally not demand such a response from me to have it fixed but the address is one of a hospital in the center of town and this hospital HAS a branch location in a similar part of town (NOT the original address SIRI was trying to take me to). This screw up could be dangerous if not catastrophic to someone who was looking for a hospital location fast and did not know of these two similar locations. After all the whole POINT of directions is not just whimsical pasttime or convenience. In a pinch people need to rely on this function. OR, are my expectations set too high?
How does the iPhone select between one app or the other (Apple Maps or Gppgle Maps) as it relates to SIRI finding and showing a map route?
Why does SIRI return an address that is NOT the correct address nor is the returned location in the requested ZIP code?
Is there a known bug in the CONTACTS list that demands the USPS quadrant ID be spelled out, as opposed to abreviated, to permit SIRI to do its routing?

siri will only use apple maps, this cannot be changed. you could try google voice in the google app.

Google Maps won't work on Curve 9300

I know there are a lot of questions about Google Maps, but I have tried every solution I could find online and nothing works for me.
I am able to download the Google Maps application, version 4.5.3. But when I try to load the application, it says "Network Unavailable: This application requires a data connection, and some Blackberry devices require reconfiguration to work properly. Please visit www.google.com/gmm on your computer for more info."
I visited that website and it doesn't give any more information. I have an unlimited data plan through WIND and I am able to access the Internet browser perfectly fine, so the data connection shouldn't be a problem. I have tried downloading the application through my mobile network and my wi-fi network, as well as running it through both networks. Nothing works. Can anyone please help me out? I appreciate it!

You must have the BlackBerry Data Plan. Not a generic unlimited data plan.
I am not sure who your "WIND" carrier is, but I know the Greek carrier WIND dropped support for BlackBerry about a year ago.

Google maps is not displaying properly on firefox

I am in the process of building a website for a client and have included a google map on the contact page. The map displays correctly in ie, safari, opera, and chrome, but on firefox the map is way out of position on the page. Firefox seems to be ignoring the existence of the map in the flow of the page and the map is appearing to the left of the rest of the page content. Here is a link to the problem page, http://pennsylvania-hill.com/?page_id=6. The map is supposed to appear in a 980 x 320 space below the navigation bar and above the addresses and contact form. The only solution I can come up with is a firefox hack in the css. I'm hoping for a better solution.
