Google maps post MobileME upgrade.

I have some google maps on my web page and since the upgrade, the maps now show the MobileME information page when viewing the site with iWEB. The published site doesn't show the maps (only a blue squared ?)
Is there an easy fix to this or do I have to replace the maps and republish?

The problem lies in the MobilMe servers and server side applications that are not yet online which allow the maps to be viewed.
There is a simple fix and that is to change the Google Map Widget to an HTML Snippet. The maps will again be viewable as seen in this test page.

Hello. I have an iphone 4 and received the notification to upgrade to ios6. I understand there is a new apple maps. However I do not want to lose google maps as i rely on it for maps and finding things and I am very happy with it and do not want to take the chance on losing it if I am not happy with apple maps. Is there any way I can keep google maps if i upgrade to ios6 so that i can try out apple maps but switch back to google maps if i want to? If not then I will never upgrade to ios6 because i do not want to lose access to google maps.

No. Updating to iOS6 will not allow you to keep the iOS5 Maps app that used Google data. You can still use maps.google.com from a browser with iOS5 and iOS6.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

Is there a way to roll back ios6? I upgraded before I knew about the new mapping. I used google maps all the time and absolutely hate the new one. Just about everything I've looked for is wrong or missing.

I hate the mapping in IOS6. Is there a way to roll back to the older OS? When I upgraded I didn't know about the mapping change. I used google maps a lot, for a variety of things. In just a few searches I've found more errors or missing landmarks than anything else. I really hate this app!

Purple route line in Google Maps continually disappears since iOS4 upgrade

Since upgrading to iOS4, I've noticed that the purple route line in Google Maps disappears while I'm following a route. I'm not to the destination but suddenly the purple line is gone. Touching the screen usually restores the route. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions to correct it? I had it in both 4.0 and 4.0.1. Where can I report this? I'll post this a MacRumor with a few pics.

Can I reinstall the previous iOS , my iphone is now a POS because of the new IOS . My iPad no longer has the YouTube app?? And what happened to google maps? Galaxy 3 for me and a google tablet seems like a better option. Nice job apple!!!

Google Maps Widget doesn't work after upgrade to Safari 4.0

After a lengthy bit of trouble shooting with an iWeb specialist yesterday, we reached a conclusion that somehow installing the release version of Safari 4.0 (released Monday, 6/8) causes the GoogleMaps widget to not function or display properly. Using backup harddrives of recent systems, the widget worked properly in OS X 10.5.7 running iWeb 3.0.1 with both Safari 3.2 and the BETA VERSION of Safari 4. On that same system, once I download and installed the release of Safari 4., the maps widget would not work or display properly.
To describe what doesn't work: None of the options (search field, address bubble, or zoom controls) appear regardless of what the user selects in the HUD when creating or editing the content. I am unable to pan and/or scroll around the map within its bounding box at all. The only thing I am able to do is edit the address field in the HUD and end up with a map with that location centered in the window.
The AppleCare specialist didn't have much response in that I think this is a brand new and VERY obscure bug.
I am curious to know if anyone else has exprienced this condition.

It may be obscure in iWeb but the Safari 4 update has messed up the Google maps in iPhoto big time. Be sure to report it as they are all related to the Safari 4 upgrade and probably only be solved by a Safari fix.

GPS info in MobileMe Gallery pictures. Google Map?

I took pictures on my iPhone, downloaded them into iPhoto, and made sure the GPS info was in the files. I created a MobileMe gallery, uploaded it, and checked to discover that when you click on the "i" icon in the MobileMe gallery from a web browser the GPS info doesn't show. I want to send my MobileMe Gallery link to somebody and have them see on something like a Google Map where they were taken. Is this not possible?

Same for me: iPhoto prefs are ok (prefs - web - include location info), but still no data in Mobileme Gallery. Is this a bug, will this be updated soon? Some people succeed to get some pictures done, I don't get any!! (http://gallery.me.com/altosaxo#100631)

I have a Google map on my website.
Now that MobileMe has closed I cannot use Google Maps.
In iWeb, Why should my Google map be linked to MobileMe when I have never joined MobileMe?

The Google map widget assets were hosted on MobileMe.
Use the Google Map code in an HTML Snippet instead.

Google maps not working with symbian belle upgrade

guys after recent upgrade with symbian belle google maps stopped working is there any problem will belle dose it support google maps 4.1.1

For those people still can't get Google map to work on Belle after the Wifi trick, a hard reset finally fixed mine! (No, a soft reset did not fix mine, but you should try it first.) Yea, it's a pain in the butt having to reinstall some apps and reconfigure preferences. But my phone also runs smoother and the battery lasts longer, as least it seems. I still need to turn on Wifi for Google map to start.
Detailed steps:
Do a full backup with Nokia Suite, just in case. (If you restore later, do not restore apps & preferences. Otherwise, Google map won't work.)
Put phone in Offline mode to end all calls and connections: Press Hangup > Offline
Try Soft reset first: Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings > Restore.
Reinstall Google Maps.
If soft reset didn't work, try Hard reset: Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings > Delete data and restore

My Google Map was Changed by iWeb to The MobileMe web page!!!?????

I had a previously published site that included a Google map for directions. After editing a different page in my site and publishing, iWeb changed my google map to Apple's corporate address and the map was replaced by the mobileme web page. I have tried to overrite the page, deleted the page and constructed a new one but I can only get the mobileme webpage. It won';t accept my requested address...Any suggestions or anyone else having this problem?

It's done that to mine as well. That's not the only issue that has arisen since the transition to MobileMe. Based on what I'm reading here in the discussions, it looks like there aren't any solutions and most likely won't be until Apple releases either an iWeb update or does some serious work on the iWeb hosting feature of the MobileMe service. It's frustrating. I'm sure they're aware of the problem and are trying to solve it.

The Google Maps widget had "API's" that were hosted on the MobileMe Servers.
You can still use google map however, you will need to get the embed code from google and paste it into a "HTML Snipet" in iWeb
You will want to copy the "<iframe" for the html Snippet
