Google Maps slow to load

Hi,
I appear to be having issues with Google Maps and Firefox.
Google Maps loads fine but then once trying to utilise the maps every operation is extremely slow and clunky, sometimes taking up to 30 seconds to complete the command.
I have tried Google Maps on Safri and don't have the same issue so can only assume it is a compatibility issue and nothing to do with internet speeds. Furthermore, I don't appear to be having any similar issues with other websites........for instance, I can watch 1080p You Tube videos without much need for buffering.
Any suggestions in laymen terms please as I'm no where near technical enough for the usual jargon ;)

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

After most recent update, google maps will not load, i'm using cricket a600 USB on a dell inspiron windows 7?

I can use IE browser and Google maps loads fine. I can use my droid bionic as a hot spot (using Verizon 4GLTE) and Google maps loads fine. I can go to McDonald's and use their WI-FI and it loads fine. But my CRICKET a600 USB is worthless using Firefox 8. I need Google maps for my lively hood. Very frustrating. it might also be worth heading to the support pages for your laptop makes and models to check for any chipset updates or other updates relevant to the USB. i've seen some hints lately that some peculiar issues with USB on HPs could be resolved by a chipset update. (although those problems seem to present in different ways than a "Firmware Update Failure".)

Google maps having trouble loading when using 3g

it's fine when i'm at home connected to my home network, but when i'm away from home and using 3G it, doesn't load. how can i get it to work when away from the house?

Let's ensure Google Maps is up and running. What device are you using? How long has this issue been occurring? Do other data services work while on 3G?

Google maps have some kind of Java problem, won't load?

There is some kind of problem with Google maps suddenly not loading. I tried Google's fixes, but it's still bad. They say Skype figures into it, but I don't have Skype. This problem started on mine suddenly yesterday. I start to type a location in the box, and a little yellow "loading" box appears at the top, and then NOTHING HAPPENS.
Anybody know about this?

Thank you for that input. In my little room here, it's hard to tell which wire or cable is what, even tho I installed this stuff a couple years ago. I have Comcast Broadband, which has been real reliable.
This problem started just yesterday, and I don't THINK it's what you're idea is. I'll wait a while to see what else might happen on this.

Google map not loading in Safari

My embedded google map will not load in Safari. Will load in all other browsers just not Safari.

Google maps use embedded HTML from Google to render content served by Google.
If some of your users can't see the google map, it could be a problem connecting to the google maps site, or a browser setting that prevents google maps from displaying.

Some web pages will not load (Google Maps, TV Guide Listings etc)

Not all pages loading. Google "Home", "News", "Gmail" work fine, Google MAPs will not load. TV Guide "Home" is fine, "TV Listings" will not load.

Very basic question, I know . . . but have you turned off and unplugged both your Mac, Router, and/or Modem?
And then restarted router/modem first, and when lights have settled down, restarted yur Mac?

Google Maps & AOL HTML Not working in Leopard

All HTML in AOL won't work. AOL email window size doesn't work when resizing. Google maps won't load any images.

Presumably you have already tried un-installing this application and re-installing prior to posting?

I go to Google Maps and try to enter address in search bar.
Message pops up: "Still loading... Slow? Use the troubleshooting guide or basic HTML"
Nothing ever comes up -- map does not load.
If I append "q?=us" to url (below) (without quotes), it works.

Starting firefox in safe mode does not work
Map loads but entire page except main menu is non interactive.

It comes up on google.com.au but not google.com
It happened after they added the new privacy popup with with MapGL also being added.
Disabling all cookies with Web Developer or browsing in private mode works but when settings are put back to normal it stops working.
I deleted all cookies and cleared cache but that did not help. Strange that clearing cookies did not solve the problem because disabling cookies works.
I tested with another browser and it works... but I want firefox forever.

Sluggish at initial opening and loading websites, google maps print and images not working right, problems are not present in Chrome and Safari

Firefox is very slow opening. Web pages load slowly. When I go to images in a Google search, the pictures take a long time to load, and when I click on an image, then the back arrow, the loading time for the previous page is very slow. When I print a Google map, it is small, rather than full-page. In Google Chrome or Safari, the same actions product immediate results. I cannot get Google desktop to work.

This sounds like a network problem, since it goes away when you connect through a different network. You'll need to talk to your university's IT department about this.

Im having problems with loading Google Maps, it takes a while to load up. This has only started doing this recently.I changed to Mozilla from IE Exporer as that was useless.

Mozilla runs fine with other web sites but when I use Google Maps it struggles to load up maps. Looks like there is a constant exchange between Google and Mozilla which is slowing up the loading. This has only been happening about 3 weeks ago, it was perfect before that so maybe it could be the Mozilla update that I accepted.

try replacing the sim card after that it needs to be replaced and since you had some one else open up the phone you would lose the out of warranty replacement price and have to buy a new one at the full retail value

All Google Services Extremely Slow to Load

I use iGoogle as my home page and it along with all other google services (maps etc.) are extremely slow to load (30+ seconds to open). All other web sites load at regular and quick speed. It has been happening for about a week. Tried resetting home page and restoring to a previous home page version and using regular google (not igoogle) as home page and nothing works. I use Comcast as my ISP with an Airport Extreme directly connected to the Imac. Anyone have any idea? I saw some limited reference to slow google may be caused by DNS settings but not sure.

Problem Resolved. Tried to manually change DNS setttings on Airport Extreme Router and Network Utility to commonly used Comcast DNS address in my area. The settings were saved but did not resolve the issue. Did a factory default restore on the Airport and when I set it up again it automatically took the same commonly used DNS address that I had tried to manually input and now all google services load quickly.

What to do about google maps so so slow now ?

Using google maps now is so frustrating :very slippery zoom control :minutes to load street view :mysterious cuts to places way out .
Can I do anything about this ?

Rainbow spinning ball comes up frequently even when only Firefox is running

There's a slight clicking sound from the Hard drive
These are all indicators of imminent boot drive failure.
Backup just your users files folders (music, pictures, documents etc.,) off the boot volume A.S.A.P. and do NOT only count TimeMachine as your sole backup option as it's stupid and will restore corruption to your new boot drive.
Restore only your users files to the new drive + fresh OS X and programs for best results.

Install/upgrade RAM or storage drive in Mac's

Google maps and google help not loading anymore! help!

Google maps and google help aren't loading since I've updated firefox. Works in Chrome no problem. Tried everything listed here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Error%20loading%20web%20sites, re-installed flash, cleared cache, etc... what am I missing?

Anyone have any ideas?

New Google maps street view is very slow in FF 31.2.0 on Linux (RHEL 6.3)

The new google streetview (which does not use Flash) is unusable and renders very slow starting with pixelated images that progressively build. The slowness is not present in FF30.0 on Windows.

Google map loading delay in Adobe AIR application

Hi,
When I try to load Google map API on AIR application,it is taking too much time to load and the application freezes for 50-60 seconds.But it is working fine in normal flex applications.Please give a solution for this.
