Google Mobile App Issues - Localhost error

Hi guys,
Whenever I go into the Google Mobile App and then click on one of the google products underneath it, it opens the browser and says localhost on the address bar
and a Cannot Open Page error.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thnx in advance

Haven't seen that but try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Google Mobile App broken

Since 5/2/11, the Google Moble app returns results in which the page links are not active, i.e. they will not open.  Normally they either open from with the Google Mobile app, or open within the s60 browser (shown as "Web" in the applications folder).  This is clearly an external problem at Google, since nothing has changed on our phones (to our knowkedge, anyway).  How can we contact Google?

Try posting your issue on the google mobile forum:

With this being a google issue there's nothing we can do to help you here. If you have an old discontinued model, like the N79, your best option is to use an alternative method to search such as opera mobile/mini.

  • Problems with Google Mobile App in 3.0

My Google mobile app is not working correctly in 3.0... it won't register motion sensing for voice search (and yes, motion sensing is turned on in the settings menu and the accelerometer works fine in other apps). I have tried removing and re-installing the app several times, to no avail. Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone have any ideas as to a solution?

I've noticed the same issue since the update to 3.0. Generally Google will not react at all with the tones/chimes to let me know that it's 'paying attention', at least for several attempts of raising it to my ear (though the screen will darken as if on a phone call so accelerometer is doing its part). Then (sometimes) it will inexplicably begin to behave properly for search after search. I've found only two mentions of this issue in the discussions (surprised there aren't more considering it must be related directly to the update), neither with a solution, but at least I know it's not my imagination.

  • Launching Google Mobile App turns music off -- any way to prevent that?

If I launch the Google Mobile App when the Music app is playing the music is paused. Is there any way to stop that from happening?
I have fiddled with all settings related to notifications, sounds, etc. but I still have this issue.
    Any suggestions appreciated.
    thanks
    Paul D.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, voice search is turned off and I still have the issue. I have also tried turning off all notifications and sounds related to Google Mobile App but it still turns the music off when launched. It appears to be a glitch in Google Mobile App – or it may be a "feature not a bug" intended to get you to focus on your email rather than listen to music. ]
I discovered a pretty simple workaround. If you place a Safari bookmark for your Gmail inbox or Google Talk, etc, directly on the home screen, and access your inbox by tapping the bookmark rather than the Google Mobile App icon, then the music playing is not affected.
So the Google Mobile App icon shows me how many new messages I have, but I tap the the Gmail inbox icon to go to my inbox. That solves the problem for now.

  • About Google mobile app

I am reading alot about the Google Mobile App that seems to be in a lot of itunes stores but is not in Sweden. Is there a way to get it anyway from maybe another store or will it come soon to Sweden as well?

WHen you access Google from the iPhone, it automatically reads that you are on a mobile device and puts you into the Mobile Google site...
The App they created basically is just a fancy way of getting to that same link with some cosmetic improvements.

  • Google Mobile App?

Is Google Mobile App the same as the application launched from the Maps button?

I would try deleting it and then reinstall it. Something in the install may have become corrupted.

  • Flash builder 4.5 + mobile apps + mx components : error#1014

    Hi everyone,
I found about the capabilities of Flex/Air a few weeks ago and I started experimenting. I'm interested in the mobile apps in particular.
I downloaded the final release of Flash Builder and started to "code" a few things (I am fairly new to ActionScript too).
The thing is I have errors when launching the mobile apps on an emulator or on my Desire HD.
Typical example is this app from Ryan Stewart : http://blog.digitalbackcountry.com/2011/03/slides-and-assets-from-adobe-refresh/
I tried to run his CollaborationMobile App (as I want to work with LCCS) onto a device emulator thanks to Flash Builder but I get the following errors :

  • Google mobile app vs default email app.

ok need your input, guys, google,
    recently began, offering notifications,
through there google app. I am more
interested, in the email notifications, that
are offered, by this google app, in
comparison, with the default iphone app - Set Up Your Apple Device for Google
Sync : Google Sync - Google Mobile
Help . In terms, of battery usage, which of the
two, do you find better, when push email,
    is set.?

Wow patient much? Yes been about 9hrs since you asked but the majority of those that answer are U.S. based and you asked at 2:45 in the morning here. Then as time passed your question got moved down the list.
As for your question, I can only guess Push notifications using the app will require less battery than the email app checking on an interval.

  • Google Mobile App & GPS work together randomly

I'm surprised we don't have a specific area for application questions, unless I missed it somewhere, however :
I'm currently back to driving a cab in the metropolitan suburbs of New York City, and often find I'm needing to know "where is the nearest "UPS" or "Dunkin Donuts" or such.
At first the Google Mobile seem to give me results knowing darn well where I was, but now I'm back to using store locaters on individual sites . . and I usually don't know what zip-code I'm in !
Did I turn something off in Settings awhile back when dealing with greater battery drain perhaps ?
GPS working in tandem w/ Google Mobile seems to have become rather random !

Please forgive a discreet bump, I can't imagine how this went to page 5 in only 2 hours !
Well.. I can imagine, I'm just astonished.

  • Building Native Mobile App for Android: error message, build fail

    Hi,
I'm  trying RH10 on a Win 8 x64 system, trying to get the generate for  mobile devices, Android to work. I've installed the Android SDK (part of  the complete ADT) in a "Development" folder in the C drive, installed  JDK for Win 64, added the PhoneGap and ANT unzipped folders to the  "Development" folder and then in the RH10 dialog to generate the Android  APK, I've pointed set the correct paths to these tools. (All installed  tools are correct for my OS, Win 8 x64.)
No  matter what I try, using a sample file (EmployeeCare, Salesbuilder), I  get an error message at the very end of the build process. Please see the screenshot showing the error message and the relevant part of the  log which looks like the ANT path is not working correctly. The build  fails every time. I've tried to do some troubleshooting online and for  example, came across setting the environment variables for the ANT  folder, which I did, but with no success in fixing the problem. The  Eclipse installation connects with the JDK and runs OK if I simply boot  it up.
My path settings are in a second screenshot below.
(I've tried the ANT path with different values, for example "C:\Development\apache-ant-1.9.0-bin" etc. Doesn't prevent error message and build failure.)
I  am not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated. At this  point, I would be happy to simply be able to build one APK then test it  on an Android device.
    Thank you for your help.
    Kind Regards,

    @saratogacoach
Not much on the forums yet about creating an app but I notice you are using Windows 8 which is not officially supported yet. Can you try on a Windows 7 machine to rule out the OS being the problem?

You can track your usage by logging into MyBT and selecting "Manage mobile settings". Your usage will appear in a box on the right side of the screen.

  • Google mobile problem with 3G S

When I use the Google mobile app with the 3G S, it doesn't always activate the voice search when I put it up to my face. I don't recall having that problem with my original iPhone. Anyone else having this problem?

I find it has to be a definite move to your ear. Move too smoothly and it won't trigger the voice search.
Also, check the Google app settings (the button at the bottom right). "Screen Rotation" is supposed to be set to OFF. "Turning on Screen Rotation disables motion sensing for voice search."

  • Google mobile updater

    Hi,
I'm trying to find where I can download the Google updater for mobile to keep my mobile Google apps current, but i'm having no luck. I've gone to mobile.google.com and downloaded 'Google Mobile App', but I can't seem to get the updater. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. In my case, the problem is Google Mobile/Symbian web browser-specific. The phone in general can access WLAN connections without any problems. I have tried all possible adjustments to both Google Mobile and Symbian web browser I can think of. I'm pretty sure the problem lies at the Google-server end of things: something about the way the search result links are formatted provides insufficient data to the Symbian web browser. It's strange that going through the cached page version to the current version works (as described above). Nokia s60 users experienced a similar (but not identical) problem in May of 2011, but someone at Google noticed the situation described on the Google Mobile Forum, and had the problem corrected. No such luck this time, I'm afraid. It may be that the s60v2 is getting to be too old for Google to bother with. It's a shame, but at least using Vlingo (or the runaround with the cached pages) there is a workaround.

  • Milkman Games/Google In-App Billing -- Error? Server Issues?

    So,
I've been scouring the internet for answers, but have come up dry! I've been using the Milkman Games google in-app billing for quite some time now. I'm not sure what changed with Google in-app system, but it appears my consumables are no longer being consumed. I understand Google Play now labels items 'managed' and 'unmanaged' - but the Billing ANE has a consume function to allow users to purchase multiple of an item (ex. gold coins).
The purchase begins to function as it normally does, runs the consume function, then hangs. The successful consumption is what triggers the item to add to user inventory. But as I stated previously, neither consumption success or fail gets triggered.
Is something going on with Google's in-App servers? Any others experiencing this issue? I've only had one user send an email regarding the issue so far, but I've checked a couple of apps, and its the same thing across the board. Definitely not good.
If anyone has any info they could share, I'd appreciate it! thanks.

Question 1.  This seems like overkill, but are these steps required for consumable in this order?:
    1) Purchase the item
    2) Load inventory to see item there
    3) Consume the item
    4) Reload inventory to ensure item is gone
You don't need to load the inventory. Just consume the item when your server side verification receives the response from the Google Api.
I also call the inventory on startup and consume all the non consumed items. Just in case.
Question 2.  When consuming an item, Alex' docs indicate that you need to pass in the item ID.  However, Google's own docs indicate you need to pass in the unique 'purchase token' for that specific purchase (which is available from the inventory load).  Can anyone confirm which is the required one?
I use ItemID from AndroidItemDetails and, so far, no problems
