Google Music Questions

So I have a question? I have all my mp3s on the Google Music cloud and I just download it for offline usage for when I'm at work(Make Available Offline). Much easier so far than dumping mp3's onto my phone all the time. Question is can I delete specific songs for the device for offline use, or do I have to clear the whole cache and start all over everytime I need to remove anything? Got my whole "work music" set on there for offline use, but only need to delete 50-100 songs of it and replace them with more every now and then. I would hope there's a way to do this without clearing the whole thing and starting over. Using a Galaxy Nexus. Thanks.

You mentioned amazon tidbits.... I got amazon Mp3 on my X is that ok.. have you tried it before an do you use it know i have Google as well an with those two can your songs be download to your perminant files.

  • Yoga Tablet 10" - update to Android 4.4 and further problems with Google Music

    Hi everyone.
I've just upadated my Yoga Tablet 10" to Android 4.4. Whole process went smoothly but afterwards I'm experiencing some problems with Google Music. Playback is "skippy" or "choppy", even if whole song is downloaded. Every 15-25 seconds there small pause, which is quite annoying.
Local music files (uploaded through usb) seem to work just fine.
I've even tried resetting whole device to factory settings but without any success.
I also have an impression that youtube playback is not so smooth as it used to be in Android 4.2...
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any hints or sollutions?

  • Google Maps Navigation and Google Music problem

    Hello,
I love the LG G2 but it has a few concerning issues. First, is the squealling, hissing, cracking, popping, etc. during phone calls, but I have seen that brought up by others.
The second problem that I've discovered, and the most upsetting to me, is that when using the Google Maps Navigation and Google Music All Access at the same time, whenever the navigation voice instructs a direction, the music shuts off. It is then silent until the navigation voice instructs the next direction OR when a new track starts. This was not a problem on my droid bionic, so it must be an LG G2 issue. This is a huge problem to me as I travel a lot for work and usually use GPS to find where I'm going, and I subscribe to Google Music All Access so I listen to music in the car. This problem makes that impossible to do (I have to choose).
A related issue, is that my Alpine CD player displayed track information (Artist, Song, Album) with my Droid Bionic, but with the LG G2 it displays 'UNKNOWN'. I find it hard to believe that a two year old phone has capabilities that a brand new phone wouldn't, so I'm hoping these issues will be fixed with a software patch.
Has anybody else experienced these issues, or does it work fine with your LG G2?

Hawaii is a part of the USA so you will be fine there. Mexico on the other hand, you will be roaming for data there and could see extra charges for international data.

  • Google music beta not compatible with playbook browser please fix soon

i love my playbook but have a arequest that i am sure i am not alone in wanting. the website for the new google music beta does not work correctly in the playbook browser. you can visit the site and login to your account. the problem comes when trying to access ANY of your uploaded music. the albums display their thumbnails fine in the initial page but when you tap to open the album the site gives an error of "Couldnt open the album. Please try again." also if you tap any of the links on the left side of the page you get a similar error for each link "unable to open .... etc". you also get this unable to open error when trying to use the search function of the site. in effect this site is completely unusable in the playbook.
this site would hopefully be an easy fix to make our devices compatible with since it works with ANY other browser i have tried to access it with except the playbook. i have no way to test the bridge browser so i cant speak to whether it works there or not. also my software on the playbook is the latest version of the OS 1.0.5.2304 and it wouldnt work with the last version either. your attention on this i am sure would be appreciated by more than just myself as there are thousands of users of the new google music beta.
thanks and keep up the good work of making the playbook the best tablet.

So I had this same issue. After one of the recent updates I could not get app world to load. The suggestion was to do a security wipe. After doing this Google music has been working for me.
The one issue is the playbook times out after 5 mins on not touching it. For that Igrabed this app silent noise whivh prevents screen time out. Not perfect but it works.

  • Problem listening to google music in the background on my iphone

I just uploaded all my music to google music.  I have no problem listening to it on my iPhone in Safari, but when I minimize Safari, the music stops (the track is paused).  My OS software is up to date, and I don't have this problem on my wifes iPad.

WHAT! Oh, come on. This was the only reason I was interested in iOS4. I mean really I knew a lot of features wouldn't work cause of the lack of procesor speed, but the Walpaper is just a static graphic, what is so hard with that? I mean three OS's ago I hacked my iPhone and got that feature working. Apple did the pooch on this one. I hope this is not like holding back features like they do on cars to sell the over priced ones.
Gee! I am so ******! I spent a living H E Double Hocky Sticks trying to get the darnm OS on my iPhone and none of the features except the very poorly implemented folder or is tit a tray directory thing. Well it's back to OS 3 and hacking it to get it to work properly.

  • Google Music Beta uploader program (wine)

I've created a package for the Google Music Beta uploader.
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49659
It's a wine package, but I wasn't sure how to tell if it was "clean" or "portable". I'm just launching it without any environment preparation and it seems to be working for me... Are there any other Google Music users out there that want to try it out?
Comments on figuring out "clean" and "portable" -ness are welcome.

I think it's just supposed to launch a web browser. I don't have one installed under wine so it doesn't do anything for me either. I haven't even played with it to see if it would work if I installed one because I just keep gm open in native chromium...

Can you download iTunes on another computer, then login and access your music?

Earphones work perfectly fine for me in a corporate call center environment... it's very simple, one earphone in one ear, headset in the other ear.
Co-workers and bosses learn to get your attention other ways.
Or as others have suggested get speakers.
If you were using Google Music previously and have your collection uploaded there, continue to use it.

  • Match vs google music

Anything that apple comes out with I get and love it. So when itunes match came out I jumped right on board with it. I worked through all the problems with itunes getting stuck while uploading and matching my songs. I figured out how to finally get the album art work to display properly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igffr3SXtiI&feature=g-upl
and evey thing else. I dont really care about the $25 fee for it either but I kept hearing about google music so i decided to see what it was all about. Even though its taking forever to upload all 13,000 of my songs I have to say that so far the songs that has been uploaded is working and playing a million times better itunes match. Its free and it loads and plays the songs 10 times faster the itunes match. the only down side that i see so far is that its not an official google music app yet but I did find a app in the app store called gmusic for 1.99 that is still 10 times better then itunes match. So..... as much as I hate to do it I think that I have to say goodbye to itunes match at least until apple figures out how to get match to work the way that it should.

I've been reviewing these two services, as well as Amazon's Cloud Services.  To be very honest, I'm pretty underwhelmed with Google Music and consider them the worst of the three services (the old adage -- "you get what you pay for" seems to ring true, here).
These are the problems I have with Google Music, taking the cost factors out of the picture and just reviewing features:
1- It doesn't directly support the AAC format, it transcodes to 320kps MP3.  This isn't better, it's actually a bad thing as lossy to lossy transcodes mean that you actually lose data in the process.  I've seen people try to sell the "it's 320kps so it's automatically better" argument, but it's really just snake oil.  When you have a lossy source (AAC/MP3/Vorbis/WMA) you want to avoid transcoding, if at all possible.
2- You can't download the stuff you uploaded.    The only thing Google allows you to download are purchases and "free" music (which really means one-off songs they offer for free).   So this service cannot be used a real backup for your music collection, because at the moment you can't re-download.   I've heard of some workarounds for this like using a greasemonkey script for one-off song downloads, but for mass downloading it's inefficient.
It has some definite pluses, like Android support versus iTunes Match.  But so does Amazon Cloud Services, and you with Amazon you get unlimited (yes, no 20k or 25k limit)  music upload capabilities.   iTunes Match's pros are the integraton with Apple devices, and the Match process itself which allows for upgrading of lower kps music files you might have.  And Google Music is of course free - so they each have their pros and cons.

  • Google Music Manager - Could not identify my computer

    Hi,
Google Music Manager worked for me (x86_64) before but I didn't use it for a while and now after an update I get the message
"Login failed. Could not identify your computer"
I've read in a Fedora forum to add biosdevname=0 to the kernel line but this doesn't work here (does this even apply to Arch?).
Any ideas? The password is correct and I can log in through the web interface. I also tried to delete the music manager folder under ~/.config.

same here, Arch 64 bit, wireless (wlan0) with 2-step password verification. Have tried every single solution suggested on the forums
    * editing .config/google-musicmanager/Peer.db with sqllite, adding a record pair of
    MachineIdentifier = 00:24:d7:8c:3c:d4
    * adding kernel boot option biosdevname=0 to /boot/grub/menu.lst
    * starting manager with -p [my2steppwdprhase]
It's all the same, "could not identify my computer", even when I enter wrong password. The log file

  • Streamlining win XP pro for music question

Hello guys and gals I will soon be buying the EMU 1212M card and I have a spare 160Gb drive which I will partition so my question is as per topic but I would need some links to places that shows you how to streamline or disable the crap in windows that you don't need. My system isn't as new as I would like can't afford the upgrade at this point.
    My core system:
    CPU: P4 800Mhz HT
    RAM: 2x512Mb PC3200 matched pairs + 2x512Mb PC3200 matched pairs (2Gb total)
Hard Drive: SATA 160Gb Samsung think it's 2Mb buffer (this will be the music drive I might change that to a faster model soon)
What I propose to do is as I have already a games machine and thus don't want to mess with this setup is the drive on my shelf to be put in the case but only used for audio, the drive will not be connected all the time what I mean is if I want to do music then I would unplug (before switching the pc on ofcourse ) the gaming drive SATA cable and plug it into the Music drive and use it this way, makes it a lot tidier as there aill be no internet files or other crap just music stuff and a word processor for lyrics, I know this might sound weird but this is the way I want it done.
    Thanks for advice.
P.S. Is there any problems with 1212M card and Audigy Platinum running in the same machine, one more thing anyone used this midi controller keyboard: http://www.dv247.com/invt/32487/ been reading some good reviews on it.
Message Edited by RobertM on 06-15-2006 02:12 AM

    Bob,
Thanks for the quick reply.  So, if I understand your comments correctly, each of the CS4 apps will run with 2GB of ram and Photoshop is the only one that runs in 64 bit if I were to install Win 7.  I won't be running multiple apps but plan to install 12 GB of ram to get some more robust performance out of some apps and try to avoid "out of memory" issues when working with large files.
For example, I scan drawings in TIFF format for archiving and then open them in Photoshop to convert to jpg for modification.  These color scanned images are many times 36 x 48 plans @ 200 dpi and generally range from 1GB to 1.5GB in size.  Oftentimes if they are in TIFF format I can't do a save as because of an out of memory alert.
    Thanks again.

  • ICloud Music Question

Hi. I got a question about purchasing music with iCloud with my setup.
    1. My iTunes library is on a 2006 32 bit Mac Mini, hooked up to a HDTV and surround sound. I can't run Lion, so I can't connect the mini to the cloud.
    2. I have an iPod Touch, MacBook, and iPad that can connect to the cloud
    3.  I can upload my music up to the cloud using my MacBook
My question is about updating the Mac Mini with new purchases.  Can use my iPad to buy music from iTunes(so that it would be up in the cloud), then transfer the music from my iPad to the Mac mini using the cable? Would this work? Thanks.

On the mini, open iTunes store and select "Purchased" at top right under "Quick Limks" and download purchased music.

  • Purchased Music Question

I have purchased several albums under my regular Apple ID in iTunes. I have just signed up for the .Mac trial (which I am going to purchase) and I am going to start using my .Mac email as my primary address. The problem is, I want to change the information on my purchased music over to the .Mac address becasue I want to cancel my prior ISP-based email. I have logged into my Apple Account and tried to change the email over to .Mac, but it tells me I cannot do this becasue when I signed up for the .Mac it already asigns you an Apple ID. Is there any way to manually change the account information on those purchased albums over to my new .Mac identity?
Basically I am thinking about the future. In a few months that other email address won't exist once I cancel my current ISP and I don't really want two Apple ID's floating around out there anyway. I'd rather everything be on one email - hopefully my new .Mac address.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I asked this question before and maybe you can help (I will send my email if you want)that way we wont clog the forum....
    1. What is the procedure to transfer all my music in itunes to an external hard drive?? I'm just talking as a storage device thats it??
    2. In the event of system crash, what is the procedure to get the music from the external hardrive back to itunes once the system is back up running?
Like Isaid, I can leave my email if you want.....

  • WebDynpro and Google integration question

    Hi all,
I saw some tutorials and discussion on the topic of integration of WebDynpro with Google Maps. But my question is: Has any of you tried to integrate Google docs (for example a spreadsheet) into WebDynpro for Java? If yes, can you please give me some references and tips to do this.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Stefy

    Hello,
So to answer your question in short, AXL is the reason IM&P has the ability to retrieve, insert, and etc into the CUCM database.  IM&P does store a copy of the CUCM database on itself but with the AXL integration it actually has access to the CUCM database.
    Hope this helps

  • Multiple Music Questions

So ever since the update to iOS 7 I have not been too happy with the Music app and I have some questions that I need answered.
    1. Why can't you shuffle play music in the generes? You used to be able to select a genere, such as country, and then at the top you could hit "shuffle" and it would shuffle play that genere.
    2. I do NOT want any Christmas music on my iPhone 5 (sorry but Jungle Bells while running on the beach in the summer is not very motivating) to play at all. I have created 2 playlists and they are not in there but when I go to my music app and select an artist, Michael Buble for instance, all his Christmas songs are there and they play on my iPhone. The little cloud with down arrow icon is there but it still plays when I hit shuffle.
    3. When I downloaded some new songs, they went into a "purchased" playlist and went directly to the bottom of the list (in order of when I downloaded them) so that I can play them. Now since the update that playlist is not there and they also do not appear in the order they were downloaded in.
Any and ALL help is appreciated!!!

    Navy2010 wrote:
    1. Ok.
    Good.
    2. Question was, how do I get music off my iPhone that I don't want on there? Such as Christmas music.
The best way is to use automatic sync with the "Sync Selected Playlists" option.  Then you will have exactly what you want on your phone.
Everybody gets clever with manual syncing, and trying to manage with checkmarks, and using the automatic download feature (funny there is no option to automatically download except for Christmas music!) and before long things are out of control.
    3. When I did have the playlist on there, they weren't in order of download.
When you get it back, just click the column you want to sort by, which in your case is "Date Added."

  • Backing-Up Music Question

I am having problems uploading iTunes 8 to my computer. Quicktime installs just fine but it seems to get caught in an endless loop during the installation process for iTunes. iTunes, for whatever reason, cannot download to my PC.
Which brings me to my question...
Before I start doing some major "cleanup" to my PC, I want to make sure I have a good backup of my music. I purchased a external Hard Drive to use as my backup drive.
As of right now, since iTunes won't install, all my music is converted to the QuickTime format. Should I backup my music to the external drive in this format? If I eventually get iTunes working again on my PC, would my backup music in the Quicktime format be able to be re-loaded and play via iTunes?
Also, it says the current format of my music is M4P file..whatever that means. Anyway, any tips/suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS

m4p is just an iTunes download with DRM.
To backup everything, simply copy the entire *iTunes folder* (My Documents/My Music/iTunes in XP or /Music/iTunes in Vista) to the external.
As of right now, since iTunes won't install, all my music is converted to the QuickTime format
    iTunes uses QT for playback.
The files haven't changed at all. Windows is simply associating the .m4p extension to QT (which QT will play).
After you get it fixed and reinstall iTunes, just right click on one of the files and select *Open with...*, select iTunes and tick *Always use the selected program to open this kind of file*. This will associate them with iTunes again.
